We absolutely love Ariyasomvilla - this was our third stay, and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Bangkok. Beautiful oasis a stone’s throw from buzzing Sukhumvit, with wonderful rooms, lovely gardens and pool, and a great breakfast, served by the loveliest people. Highly recommended!

Beautiful boutique hotel tucked away in leafy green surroundings and close to the canal. Hard to believe it is in central

The place is great, the staff is amazing, the food is extraordinary especially if you are vegetarian/pescatarian/vegan, I’ve never had so many options. The spa is so amazing and relaxing, you’d never be able to tell it’s in the middle of the city. Overall it was a great experience but I wouldn’t stay longer than 5 days, it’s very expensive.

I travelled across Southeast Asia for years before retiring and always looked forward to staying at Ariyasomvilla, a beautiful and peaceful oasis of a hotel. There are plenty of great hotels in Bangkok, but Ariyasom is my favorite. Their restaurant (Na Aroon) is excellent. If you're looking for a lovely, quiet boutique hotel in the midst of Bangkok, you've found the right place -- stop looking.

I prefer boutique hotels with tons of charm and character and the Ariyasomvilla did not disappoint. It’s a lush, green oasis in the middle of the city. I had a room on the third floor overlooking the outdoor dining area and pool, which was lovely. My room was spacious and beautifully decorated in an authentic Thai style from the past. The breakfast was delicious - they serve a fresh fruit plate, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious coffee, and a menu that has Thai food options and western options. I had the Eggs Benedict, which was served with just eggs and it was really tasty. I also had dinner one evening in the restaurant and they had such an extensive menu that it was difficult to decide. Everything was delicious. If I ever return to Bangkok, I will definitely stay here again.

Ariyasomvilla is a cute little hotel with traditional Thai decor. Staff are very friendly. Don’t miss out on the breakfast which is freshly made with each order. There’s a 5-10 minutes walk from the Phloen Chit BTS station to the hotel, and the street is filled with street food that hospital staff go to, giving you a chance to eat like a local!

Any time I'm in Bangkok. I will be staying here.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room cleanliness, air conditioning, pool, and staff were all top notch. The breakfast was delicious and came with good coffee, fresh fruit, and included both traditional Thai and more European/American styles. Got a traditional Thai massage at the attached spa which was performed on a roof deck surrounded by a gorgeous jungle of plants. Location of the hotel was also pretty good with a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest sky train and easy access to the highway on a taxi!

totally amazing hotel, and oasis of green and traditional architecture, located in the heart of bangkok, just off the flyway coming in from the airport, and at walking distance of phloen chit BTS station. fantastic staff, great family room (double-decker en-suite everything), great swimming pool, great breakfast, great food, great family vibes, and the opposute of the international anonymous and aseptic type... sorry, running out of superlatives, AND all superlatives are amply deserved!

Cute pretty little hotel with nice landscapes. Dining room was fine and free breakfast was served at the table, not as buffet.
Very unsafe to move around with little steps and uneven surfaces. At night, completely dark in yard with no guiding lights. I fell flat while dragging luggages at 5am for taxi.
In the public rest room, only two cloth towels to dry hand.
Room was outdated, though roomy. Too many switches to figure out which for which light fixtures. A/C and fan were barely working. Shower head was hanging loose on the pole.

We had a fantastic stay at Ariyasomvilla. Kudos to David and the very attentive and friendly staff. The pool and surrounding areas as well as the rooms and restaurant/checkin areas were beautiful. Could not have asked for a more relaxing time for our last few days in Bangkok.

We were initially concerned that the resort area might be a bit remote for shopping/restaurants, however, there were ample options within walking distance (over and above the great on-site Na Aroon restaurant). Also, the adjacent Saen Saeb canal boat ferry system provided a great means to connect with the nearby metro and BRT stations.

Hope to return again soon.

We absolutely fell in love with this property. From the moment we arrived, the staff did everything they could to make us feel at home. The rooms are huge and super clean and the food is absolutely amazing - even my super picky son raved over every meal. We were so sad when it came time for us to leave and will most definitely stay here again when we are back in Bangkok. Truly, I can not recommend this hotel enough! It is top notch!

Romantic Oasis in Middle of Busy Bangkok

This is now my favorite property to stay in Bangkok. The staff is extremely helpful. The room was pleasant and well equipped with large pleasant bathroom. The grounds are beautiful, covered in orchids and other plants. Excellent breakfast menu with wide range of choices. BTS station is easy walk, but when you are on the hotel grounds you can forget you are in the middle of bustling city.

Ariyasomvilla is truly an inner-city oasis! This was an outstanding stay with just as outstanding staff to match. Our room was a good size and comfortable though we wished the air con/ceiling fan was more powerful. Access from the villa to the local BTS train and conveniences stores was easy though a little difficult for taxi to navigate at times and uneven surface of the sidewalk made for a cautious walk. I look forward to returning in the future to relax by the pool with a preference to stay in a room in the newer wing.

I cannot day enough great things about this place. Stop looking for hotels and book this place now.. It is a gem! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so delicious- a great way to start the day. Close walk to the BTS and good location to get around the city. Hawker food down the street and reasonably priced massages nearby. The rooms are spacious and the pool is refreshing. This place is an oasis! We were so sad to say goodbye!

This is an oasis of calm and beauty in downtown Bangkok. Only 24 rooms. The setting is quiet, with abundant trees and plants. Wonderful pool. Our room was large and extremely comfortable. The staff was charming. The food was wonderful, although mostly vegetarian. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in downtown Bangkok. This was so much better than staying in a typical high-rise hotel.

There are few hotels to which I want to return; the Imperial in Delhi, the Taj in Mumbai are two. This gem of a boutique hotel is up there with them. It is a haven of calm in the middle of the frenetic city of Bangkok. When you enter the premises you forget about what is going on just a few metres away outside the gates.

The rooms are wonderful, the food is excellent, the staff are well trained, the owner is friendly and makes it a point to speak to as many of his guests as possible. It is well worth the extra money to make your stay in Bangkok memorable.

luxury Boutique hotel

The hotel is an urban oasis. Although close to many taller buildings, you dont feel overlooked if sitting out round the pool. There is plenty of vegetation in the garden to hide most other buildings. i
I any case, the hotel is anything but a modern, faceless block, the core part with the dining room and reception having been built as his home by the present owner's grandfather.
We were upgraded on arrival to an executive suite which was spacious and most comfortable. Although it backed onto a canal, the boats were noisy only till early evening from about 7am.
The dining room was excellent at both breakfast and dinner and service impeccable.
David, the co-owner, was an attentive and very helpful host.
we shall stay again if ever back in Bangkok.

Peace and tranquility at a bargain price.

Kuala Lumpur was the last destination of a long journey with my son. I was hoping to book a special hotel as the 'grand finale' of our overland journey from Singapore. We were both absolutely delighted to escape another busy noisy city at the Aryasomville hotel. Naturally we did the essential tourist gimmicks so we can say ”we've been to Bangkok” but we spent the rest of our time enjoying the peace and tranquility of the hotel. If I need to visit Bangkok again I won't even search; I'll just book this one again. Incidentally; the most amazing thing is that it's not expensive. I've stayed in many hotels that were around twice the price and not even half as good and I'm thinking of staff and service too.

Nice middle-class hotel. The garden is absolutely marvelous. The room (studio) lighting was not efficient enough. The room was very dark even during the day. Some holes in the bedsheets. This is not acceptable for a luxurious property. The proximity of the canal generates bad smell (sewer) . The Personel was lovely . We got a room upgrade for free.

Nice hotel away from the city. They have a nice tuk tuk service that will drop you at the city centre all the time. Nice swimming pool and green areas. Breakfast was ok but sometimes it took forever to get a coffee. Good food compared to traditional hotels. We only had one problem in room with leaky a/c every night leaving floor all wet and noisy. Nice big room and huge bathroom.

If you want to stray away from large chains and prefer more tranquility in the city - head for Ariyasomvilla. The location still offers central access to Bangkok's hot spots without feeling like you are in the city.
Lovely wholesome breakfast, the owner offers a warm greeting each morning for a more personal touch.
Would definitely stay again.
Oh and opt for their Thai Massage which helped remove some stiff niggles.

Gorgeous tranquility in chaotic Bangkok

Chose this hotel from great reviews and it did not disappoint! Classic Thai experience at the end of a long road (calling it a street is a stretch). Beautiful, quiet sleep, comfy bed, good AC, fabulous breakfast either Thai or American style, friendly staff. As has been said before- location is not in the thick of the tourist/shopping area which is the main reason why we chose it. Taxi drivers do struggle to find it. Turns out most taxi/tuk tuk drivers don’t use GPS (and don’t care to) So we had to help out once with directions on our phone. Just be sure you get one of the little cards that gives the directions in Thai at the front desk before you leave for the day.

Lovely gardens and building

Small but beautiful gardens with a small swimming pool and spa. The dining room was lovely with a colonial feel to it and the food delicious. The menu is mainly vegetarian but there is a large choice of dishes so something for every taste and the breakfast is large and freshly prepared. We stayed at the hotel to relax following a touring holiday so can't comment much about the area, though there seemed to be many places to eat in the neighbourhood. If sightseeing, you need transport to reach the river area but the staff are helpful so would order a taxi and the rail line is close by. For a place to relax, this is 5*.

A charming, hotel

A charming luxury hotel oasis in a concrete city. The most friendly willing to please, and efficient staff in this privately owned, slightly querky place, full of character. We had a late flight out and they not only let us keep our bags there while we toured the city, but made all the facilities available to us after a hot day, including an en suite room. So we were able to get showered and changed before our flight.
The restaurant is vegetarian plus fish, which limits your choice a bit for breakfast, but the evening meal choice is huge and fabulous. Highly reccommended. Nice cocktails, too.

An oasis amid the sensual assault of Bangkok

We stayed for three nights at the Ariyasomvilla for a bit of luxury at the end of several weeks' travelling around Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Check-in was efficient and we were delighted to receive an upgrade from a deluxe double to an executive deluxe. The room was enormous and came with its own lounge. If I were going to be really picky I'd say one of the lampshades was stained and the armchair in the lounge was showing signs of wear, also that the room was quite noisy as it overlooked the canal so you could hear the passenger boats. That said, it was a lovely room and the boats don't run after about 8pm anyway. What was more disappointing was that the wifi was initially quite unreliable, though that seemed to improve after our first day.
Breakfast was very good (there was a really wide range of items on offer) and it came with some of the best coffee we had anywhere on our trip. The staff at reception were great though there was one occasion in the restaurant when they were a little unaware that we were trying to get their attention. That may have been largely due to the position of one of the tables outside near the pool.
David, the owner, was very friendly and great to chat to. He went out of his way to make guests feel very welcome and we really appreciated that. We also particularly appreciated the studio room we were given free-of-charge on the last day when we wanted a late check-out as our flight was not until after midnight.

Calm oasis in central Bangkok

We stayed at AryasomVilla for a two night stopover in Bangkok. We really enjoyed our stay making full use of the lovely pool and restaurant. The grounds are lush and tropical, staff really friendly and the place felt like a calm oasis in the middle of the frenetic city. Owner David was always available and regularly checked in to make sure we were being looked after. The restaurant was a delight. Wonderful Thai and western offerings with an extensive and eclectic choice of beverages. We loved all of our meals here. We'll definitely be coming back for a longer stay.

Nice stay in Bangkok

This is a small, comfortable, quiet, friendly hotel that feels like old Bangkok – a nice alternative to the high rises and bustle. It's situated at the end of a narrow, busy street, past the small shops that cater to employees at the International Hospital, so it feels secluded. The staff speak English very well, are helpful without being intrusive, and are all smiles. The vibe is family-owned inn more than hotel. The restaurant, Na Aroon, is excellent, serving a wide-ranging pescatarian Thai menu that's worth a stop even if you aren't a hotel guest. The breakfast was a fantastic, gentle way to begin the day – it was hard not to simply pass the morning there. The pool area, including the spa, is lush and relaxing, even with the boat noise that comes from the adjacent waterway. David, the owner, is delightful and seemed to check on every guest. We stayed twice, at the beginning and end of our vacation, both times in rooms next to the waterway. (The water taxis sound like diesel trucks passing at a distance, which did not bother us – you're in a city – but might be disturbing to some. If you're sensitive to noise, just request a room away from the water when booking.) After traveling such a long distance, we found Ariyasomvilla to be a great place to re-energize.

A hidden gem!

Small boutique hotel hidden off the beaten path. Very nice and quiet in the heart of bustling Bankok. Your taxi driver may have some difficulty finding it as it is at the end of an alley behind the hospital....but, well worth the effort! Beautiful lush grounds surrounding the pool and courtyard. The property backs up to a busy commercial canal....lots of small boat traffic and some noise during the day but this stops around 7 in the evening. Our room did not overlook the canal and was very quiet. The hotel staff is great! The Managing Director, David, is always present and is a gracious host!

Perfect if you don't like large mega-hotels

We don't like large, chain hotels. A trip to Laos involved spending two nights in Bangkok, and we really wondered where we would stay. However, we found the Ariyasomvilla, and it suited us perfectly. It's amazing but refreshing that a place like this can survive in a city of mega-hotels.

Staff were friendly at all times, even arranging a private driver at a reasonable price to take us to Ayutthaya, saving us a lot of time and energy faffing around with mini-vans.

The rooms are big, but could do with some extra lighting. There is a small pool at the back. Breakfast - included in our rate - was fine. We are not vegetarians, so we did not care for the vegetarian restaurant only, but there are loads of other eating opportunities close by.

Our flight was late in the evening, but we were able to store luggage, return after 4pm after a day sightseeing for a quick swim, then a shower in the separate annex next to the pool. It was the ideal preparation for a long flight.

We would certainly consider staying here again.

Oasis in Bangkok

We had a very nice stay. This hotel is an oasis in the middle of a very lively city, yet provides easy access to public transportation. The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed meeting David, the owner. He and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We recommend staying here to anyone visiting Bangkok who wants to stay somewhere with more personal experience.

Oasis of calm in a city of chaos

A fantastic hotel relatively close to centre where you can relax in wonderful colonial surroundings and recover after a hard days sightseeing or shopping.
We had a beautiful room with huge bathroom and separate sitting room, all tastefully furnished.
Food was excellent with eggs benedict to die for at breakfast.
Wish we had been able to stay longer!

Spacious, well-appointed rooms.
Swimming pool is 20m & good for lap swimmers.
Restaurant is very nice and affordable. Does not offer meat however seafood is fresh & tasty.
The staff is delightful.
