The hotel was nice for a budget stay. The hotel was located just outside the centre but it was still walkable to the main sights or the metro station is nearby. The room was clean but the furnishings had wear and tear. No tea/coffee facilities to make for yourself. Complimentary bottle of water in the room that you could refill at reception. The buffet breakfast was good. The street/area around the hotel did not feel safe walking after dark.

The staff at reception were always very helpful always answering our questions and giving us tips on how to get around the City.Our room was lovely and the choice at Breakfast was excellent. The shower in the room didn’t draining the water, I normally take a quick shower and consume very little water. The water was coming out of the bathroom to the bedroom area. I informed the reception about the water drainage issue, he immediately said it is my fault because I booked an accessible room and the showers are designed that way without doors, I explained it has nothing to do with the doors, the issue is with the drainage system. Unfortunately, he insisted that it isn’t fault and can’t do anything. I explained that I don’t want you to change my room, I’m here for the short time leaving early morning but want to let you know that there is a problem with the bathroom, and I believe it is a safety concern to the customers and would damage the floor and walls of the room.
At the end he suggested to give me extra towers to lay them on the bathroom floor to absorb the water.
Only one lady at the reception was smiling and helping and was trying to find solutions. The other one were unfriendly and very stubborn.

The room was very loud from the Traffic in the street and the room was very, very smal. You can't Take a Seat at the Table snd no space for suitcases in the room. No furnitures on the balcony, therefore noch usable.

All the clocks in the reception area and the breakfast area were wrong. That is just laziness! The orange juice was cheap and fake. Portugal has the best oranges in the world, please make natural juice. There was some mould in the bottom corner of the shower and the toilet was dripping all night!
Besides that everything was great. The room was spotless, bed was super comfortable and all the staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was good, maybe could do with a bit more variety, but all the food was fresh and tasty.
We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Lisbon. And we would recommend.

My friend and I had a terrible experience at this hotel from the moment we arrived. We arrived late evening our first night and checked in (it was a smooth check-in) but when we got to the room and attempted to connect to the wifi, it kept cutting in and out. When we informed the front desk, they simply responded with telling us to restart our phones and stated “well everyone else’s is working”.. very poor customer service. It is a noisy spot, you can hear the metro/subway underneath the building. We slept with a sound machine and could still hear it. That next morning when I showered, I noticed black mold all over the shower/walls/and ceiling of the bathroom. When we informed front desk they said they would have house cleaning take a look and “try” to move us rooms. We refused to be retuned to that room and informed them no guest should be staying in that room. We went about our day, and upon return they had switched us room, however the room was very subpar again. Dirty bathrooms, grimy and unacceptable presentation.
We also tried to get a late checkout on our last day due to a late train to Porto and they said “we cannot accommodate this we are fully booked” despite there being rooms available online for that same night. Not happy with my stay here and I would not recommend to anyone that you stay at this hotel.

The whole hotel was kept immaculately. A beautiful facility with every amenity we could imagine needing. Congenial staff speaking perfect English, ready to serve in any way. Only wish the breakfast could have been served a bit earlier because of having to arrive at the very crowded airport hours before the flight. Would return to Lisbon only if we could stay again at the Empire Hotel.

The hotel was perfectly situated near the Metro so getting into the city was super easy & the hustle and bustle of the location meant that there was always a local shop to cater to your needs. The only negatives I could mention are
a) our room not having a kettle and hot drink amenities provided
b) no robes and the towels being a little short
c) breakfast options: we stayed for four days and the breakfast was always the same. it started to get boring from the third day.

- The room was quite warm. The air conditioning feature of the heat pump did not work since overall system was set to heat in mid-March. The fan function also blew warm air into the room. We opened the balcony door to cool off, but had to close it for sleeping due to the street noise.
- The room was much smaller than what it looked like in the photos. The fridge door could only open partway as it was blocked by the bed.
- Breakfast seemed to start later, at 7:30am. (Admittedly, we stayed at aparthotels throughout our visit to Portugal so I am not sure what the typical hotel breakfast times in the country are. Based on experience from North American hotels, breakfast usually started around 6am.) We had a mid-morning flight, and needed to leave the hotel before 7:30 to ensure enough time to get through security and passport control at the airport. Therefore we were not able to have the breakfast that so many guests had positively reviewed. This is not to blame the hotel for the timing, but rather to make travellers with similar flights aware of the considerations.

We stayed there for only a weekend, after our cruise. The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to the cruise port and close to the airport. It is also right next to a metro station, in a street with supermarkets, bakeries and shops.
The room was very comfortable, clean, good sized. The breakfast was really good. And the staff was great, really helpful and attentive, they even prepared a breakfast box for us on our last day, because we had to leave at 6am for the airport.

The staff here is AMAZING! Beatriz, Susana & Joana were so friendly and helpful. Always had smiles on their faces and ALWAYS willing to help. The greatest Hotel Staff I have seen in a long time. The hotel was very clean and looks like it has been updated. The lobby was a great place to hang out and relax with our friends. We never felt like we were a bother to anyone. They have a nice outside area with a few tables out front so you can sit out and watch the people walk by. I would definitely rate this a 5 out of 5 and would definitely stay here again.

Small 3* hotel with a nice staff. It is well maintened. It has everything you need as a hotel for a short stay. Breakfast was ok nothing crazy it has what you need to start your day. We were really surprised with how small the rooms are, the shower is so small we could barely move in it. The location of this hotel is perfect. It's central and there is a lot of things to do walking distance. If you drink a lot of water be aware that they don't refill the glass bottle, you have to do it yourself.

On arrival, the receptionist took some time to book us in and on going to the room found it had a double and not two single beds. It then took over half an hour to sort out an appropriate room. This room did not have a window view and it took three days to sort out a bedside lamp that didn't work. The hotel only has a coffee bar not a drinks bar but did provide a very good breakfast buffet.
