I’ve stayed here on several occasions, but do feel that it no longer merits a 4* rating. Staff is friendly and very helpful, room was clean, spacious. Amenities could use improvement. Soap dispensers didn’t pump, please provide a bar of soap! Quiet area, walkable to 3 metro stations and about 5 - 6 metro stops from central Lisbon and 9 metro stops from airport, both which goes very quickly and conveniently. My tv had a bad picture problem which I reported and reading lights next to bed burnt out. These things should be checked! Didn’t take the breakfast option so I can’t report on that. Pretty close to a grocery store (Pingo Doce) and coffee shops if you want to get breakfast items. Has an in room safe which I really appreciate. I’m used to this place so I would stay here again, it’s still a good option and priced right.

The room was very clean. The front desk staff are awesome. Special thank you to Wannessa who went above and beyond when my husband left his back pack in a taxi. Wannessa contacted all the taxi companies and we were very grateful that the bag was returned!!! The hotel was well situated. Short walk to the metro and a 40 minute walk to the ocean. We will return someday!!!

This property is in a great location for all kinds of exploration. A short walk to hop on to the Metro taking you on a short direct ride going towards the water as well as the airport. Airport line was a huge bonus. A quick Metro ride takes you straight to Terminal 1. Also, there are many stores and cafes for quick, easy and delicious food options in the surrounding area.

Well maintained property with exceptional staff. The marble entrance extends all the way through the bar area and to the restaurant.
The staff could not be more attentive and helpful with restaurant suggestions and reservations. I would not hesitate at al to highly recommend this hotel.

This properly is definitely NOT 4 star. It’s more like 2 star. The rooms are very dated and old. Damaged floors & furniture everywhere.

VERY NICE HOTEL, SOME SIGNIFICANT SHORTCOMINGS.

Lovely modern hotel about 3 miles north of downtown, very friendly helpful staff.
Problems with getting drinking water, they would only allow us one bottle at a time and we had to go down to the bar to exchange used bottle for a new one! We went to local shop to get large drinking water container.
TV was only about 16 inches high upon wall so viewing from bed was very poor.
IT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A 4 STAR HOTEL TO LIMIT DRINKING WATER IN THIS RIDICULOUS WAY AND ALSO NOT TO HAVE A LARGE FLAT SCREEN TV

Long distance phone calls didn't work and could not open window because it was locked , parking on street if you want to park on property only good if you have a small car and they charge you 20 euros not a bad place but Would not call it 4 star

I love this hotel, have stayed 3 times. Location is good, near 3 metro stations, it’s quiet at night. Bed is super comfy and nice bedsheets and pillows. My only issue is that there are no English news channels on the tv. ie, CNN or BBC or others. Only in Portuguese

The room we had looked and smelled old. The bathroom showed signs of age, and there was mold on some shower tiles. The hairdryer was barely working, I would recommend to bring your own and have 1 hour ahead of you to dry your hair.
As for the student parties, just a heads-up, watch out for the university a street away, and their celebration schedule. On our first night in Portugal (i.e. tired and jet lagged), we were greeted with a very loud outdoor party happening almost under our street facing windows, with mics and amps . The music continued until 2 a.m., and earplugs didn't help. Of course, it's not the hotel's fault, but be warned of the proximity to the university.

Service and staff was excellent; however there was an exception. For service I have to go to reception around 3-4 times in 3 nights to reprogram our keys; we had 2 rooms. One horrible thing is the design of the parking garage that’s beneath the hotel. It’s good for 15 cars only and too tight. I’ve been driving for 30 years and scratched my car at the wall going down because of the very sharp turns and very tight parking spots. My wife and I were in shock.

We had room 101. The air conditioning was nonfunctional, basically just pulling in fresh air. The floor of the room is very worn, possibly a tripping hazard. We had to request an extension cord to operate the coffee pot. The television is very small, hard to see from the bed, and the built-in music player was nonfunctional. The telephone did not work, and staff made no effort to fix it. Breakfast staff complained that we should not take a cup of coffee to the room, when our coffee maker was not functional. This hotel should not be rated 4 star.

Very pleasant stay

Very helpful and friendly staff at reception desk. Hotel is located within easy walking distance of three different metro stations. Very quiet room and comfortable beds, and very clean. They even noticed that it was my birthday from my passport information and I had a nice surprise waiting in my room that evening of a small bottle of Cava and birthday cake. Sweet! I would definitely stay here again.

The Turim was a perfect place to stay while in Lisbon. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but clean and great for a short stay in the city. Very bad smelly old hotel. Everything was uncomfortable. All handles were broken. The door is not closing correctly, the ceiling was awful, smelly carpet and a very disgusting odor in the room. I changed it the next day because I couldn't support that. I was trapped because I paid all the money at the check-in so I couldn't move to a new hotel.
That's a shame to consider that as 4-star hotel ...

I got a fantastic bundle deal (flight & hotel) on Expedia! The hotel, though small, is really 4-star level with the nice details in the room and in the restaurant where a buffet breakfast was served each morning. These added to a great visit to Lisbon. I will definitely be back!

The staff especially the girl on Reception this morning (never found out her name unfortunately) was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Quiet, clean hotel. Only drawback was the distance it was walking from it to the Centre of Lisbon. Although the metro had you there in 10 minutes. Another positive was the Italian restaurant Italy Caffe nearby. Food was amazing! Would highly recommend!

Clean room , good breakfast , friendly staff but the person who checked us in told us free breakfast for 2 included on our room reservation but when we checked out , another guy told us we have to pay for the breakfast we eat because it was not free . He let me pay 40 euro which I did inorder to checked us out . In other words wrong info was given to us during our checked in process .

I rented 3 rooms and we had issues with them because one of them the refrigerator didn't work they said they would move us the next day and they didn't. They said to put the insulin in the refrigerator and they end up putting it in the freezer which we had to throw away. In the second room the key worked off and on. In the third room we had a shortage with the coffee pot

On arrival , our first double room was shoddy and in need of an update . The air conditioning didn’t work and the bed was a small double .
The following day , the staff moved us to a note soacious twin room which was better in terms of cleanliness and decor. The air conditioning was still not working and there was a distinct smell of drains - again we were told the settings were in winter mode !!
The staff were all pleasant and listened to the issues which were logged .
Overall , great accommodating staff but the hotel needs some attention .

The hotel was very clean and the staff was excellent .The rooms were very small.The double beds were stuck together.The most painfull was the shower and bath.No Water pressure, PLUS QUITE tight space.
Comparing to north ,the Hotel looked like a 3 star back here.I think when your custom to North America Hotels your expectations might be a little High.The staff made the difference .Very HELP FULL .

We did not like the beds, they are not comfortable...theA/C was not good, room was warm and they remove the key for electricity so the room was very hot after being gone all day and the breakfast buffet was horrible. The staff is exceptional. Location ok, residential with few restaurants. Location similar to off upper west side in NYC, but close to high end shopping.

I booked a 5 night stay at the Turim while on a visit to the Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST), the university across the street from the Turim. This was a business trip for which internet service at the hotel was absolutely necessary to my business. When I arrived, the internet was functionally not operating. You could not connect to the internet at all on the upper floors. On the lower floors, even the lobby, the internet was intermittent, would not accept the proper password, or could not be connected to. When you could connect, the signal was extremely weak, and then would fade away, resulting in your internet session terminating. I notified the front-desk clerks. They said something like \"Oh, the internet has problems.\" I asked them to notify their IT (information technology) people to fix the internet. The clerks then chatted between themselves, and then told me to \"check back\". There was no improvement in the internet the second day - if anything it was worse. I spoke to the front desk clerks again, and they said something like \"Oh, the internet has problems.\" Since I had to have internet for my business, I had to leave the Turim 3 nights early and check into a different hotel. If you need reliable internet, do NOT book the Turim. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good, and the hotel is centrally located, a short walk from the Alameda Metro station. On the negative side, the television screens in the room are tiny and mounted high on the wall.

Not worth the money

So perhaps prices were higher than normal when I was there but I payed approximately the same as I had at many other hotels around Portugal. At all of the other hotels the room was much better and more up to date. There was little in terms of ammendities (such as coffee) in the room. The interesting part to me was a week earlier I was at a different Turin hotel in Lisbon and the room was much better and the same exact price. Totally felt overcharged.

The potential to be more

Staff was pleasant and competent. And overall the facility was reasonable. It's location is in a vibrant area of the city close to the Metro subway that got us into the waterfront of Lisbon cheaply & quickly.(in Lisbon, the best place to start is the 'The Time Out' market, short walk from the Cais do Sodre Metro station. Where the locals buy their groceries & eat & socialize).
Parts of the hotel seemed a bit tired. There was a moldy hole in the bathrm by the speaker, the laminate flooring in the room was delaminating, and we shared the room with a few silverfish insects.....
If they freshen things, & spruced up the maintenance, it would be a place I would recommend.

Be careful don’t stay in level 1 or 7 WiFi is not working at these two floors. It’s just incredible but it is what’s it.
It’s pity otherwise hotel is not bad , very located in Lisbon.

It is little far from the historic area ; we were looking for was Wifi so that we could use little faster connection than we had on our cell phones, but unfortunately Wifi service didn’t work in our room. It worked when we went down to the reception area thou. However, the rate was good and it is accessible to the airport via Metro. Overall, it worked out for us; we will stay with Turim on our next trip.
