This was an overall good hotel stay.

Positives: helpful staff, really great wifi, lots of channels on the TV, comfortable bed, clean towels, great and quiet neighborhood near public transport options & lots of local stores and affordable cafes for breakfast.

Negative: It could have been a little cleaner. Overall the main surfaces were clean, but it was a little dusty. Also, the room was just a bit small.

We were given a room with a very small window that just looked out onto an air well that was only about 6ft square. We had to have the light on the whole time we were in the room. On the last but one night the room stunk when we got back in the early evening and I went and complained. We were given the key to another room but no help with moving or apology.
We were also very disappointed with the room and the quality of the breakfast for the price and opted to go to the bakery close by even though we had paid.

I stayed in there for 1 week with my baby girl and the staff was amazing!
Always helping me with the stroller, or with another requests that I made!
I just wished for more option in the breakfast…
Other than that was perfect.
If I go back to Portugal I will stay again in Hotel do Chile for sure!

Not a fan of the bathroom

Well it's an ok hotel my biggest issue was the bathroom that had bad drainage and flooded a couple times the way this bathroom build its like this hotel used to be an home for elderly people at one point in time.

Highly Recommended!

Hotel do Chile is a great hotel. The staff were fantastic, extremely helpful, the room was really nice and everything was very clean. The bathroom was a good size and had a bath and a separate shower. The bed was really comfortable. The hotel and the area it was in were quiet. It's quite a long walk to the centre of town (about 30 min if you don't mind walking), however, there is a Metro station around the corner and then it's only about 5-10 min on the Metro into town and it was worth it to stay at this hotel as it offers really good value for money. There's free wi-fi in the rooms. Breakfast was a Continental buffet and there was plenty of variety, there was bread, rolls, cereal, yoghurt, cold meats and cheese, cake, croissants and boiled eggs and everything tasted nice and fresh. There's also a supermarket nearby if you want to buy anything and a vending machine in the lobby. There's also a lift so you don't have to carry your suitcase up flights of stairs. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Friendly, helpful and overall good value for money

Reception and other staff were very helpful and friendly, but my single room (which was at the back) was a bit of a let-down. Very hard bed and a lot of noise from a neighbour's dog. Note that some rooms (not mine) only have windows on to a light well. However, the room was always well cleaned and serviced. Breakfast was more than coffee and croissant, though the small breakfast room was sometimes very crowded. Though it is not very central the location suited me well as I was studying at a nearby language school. However it was a short walk to the nearest Metro station, with a frequent service to the centre. The upside was that, because it was not a very touristy area, neither the hotel nor the numerous local restaurants and cafes were charging top tourist prices.

Hotel seemed too old, not very well maintained. Location was okay, but if you stay a little bit out of Lisbon (10 min drive) you can find much better hotels at the same price range.

It is in a very convient, quiet area

I have stayed often at another nearby hotel which I liked. But in Sept. 2014 I stayed here and I will make Hotel Do Chile my Hotel of choice henceforth. The staff was were pleasant and helpful, and the room was great, as was breakfast.Unfortunately they didn't have a room available when I returned and I had to stay elsewhere. But I would have preferred Hotel Do Chile. TRY IT..YOU'LL LIKE!

Room was small (granted, I did specifically book a single room - with a single bed) but not cramped, with a high ceiling and windows in two directions. View was nothing to write home about, so maybe avoid if you are after a nice view. Roomy bathroom with shower and tub. Aside from the bed, the room featured desk, chair, wardrobe, safe, fridge, television, and very efficient air-con. All around high-level of cleanliness. Nice breakfast buffet and decent wifi included. Estimated 3 mins walking to near end of Arroios underground station (not always open) and 5 mins to far end. Hotel was in a nice area with plenty of cafes, shops, and banks nearby. Not downtown but with good transport connections to downtown-area and to University of Lisbon. Very friendly staff. Good value for money.

This is a fabulous hotel to stay in. I was very impressed with the quality of service from the reception, breakfast and cleaning staff. The person on reception even made sure an important flight document (emailed to the hotel by my husband) was printed off and handed to me during my week-long stay. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Value

The hotel was a little way out from the centre, but it is a walkable distance and Lisbon's public transport is good. They gave us adjacent rooms and it was very quiet, so we slept well. The rooms aren't large, but they have everything you need and I thought it was a good hotel for the price.

Pleasantly Surprised

Well maintained hotel close to Metro station. Neighborhood was good. The staff was friendly especially the younger gentleman who manned the late afternoon shift. Liked the idea of energy conservation both on hallways & in the rooms. Would have preferred the breakfast hours started at 6.30 as it would be convenient for travelers taking morning flights. Overall, I would recommend this hotel that had a boutique feel.

Lisbon Hotel Do Chile

Hotel staff were excellent on arrival. Easy check in and were supplied all the maps and information we required. Breakfast was good with a decent range of food.
Hotel is 3 minute walk from metro and 10/15 minutes from airport in taxi.
For the price it is an excellent hotel and would stay there again if visiting Lisbon.

Nice place to stay and see the city

Realy nice hotel a bit further from main touristic places, but with great metro access (crossing of metro liness). Clean room with lovely bathroom (bathtub, hairdryer). The room was a bit small, but it does not matter if you want to see the city. Is better to eat breakfast in one of small reastaurants near by. There is plenty of choice. Overall, worth to stay in Hotel Chile :)

The room & bathroom were small. TV small and was very finicky--one english station. However the breakfast was great, location great, value great, refrig in room great! Pizza place next door. Phone in the room and public phone in the lobby. It was perfect for me, but some would be bothered by the limitations.

We had the worst hotel experience at this location. We arrived on March 31 with a reservation through Expedia for four nights, until Tuesday, April 4, and paid for the full 4 nights when we arrived. On Monday, April 3, we went out to tour the city as usual and returned to the hotel around 8:30 p.m. I went to the reception to ask for a document that I was expecting to receive.

To our surprise, all our luggage, bags, and belongings were placed in the hotel reception. At first, it was confusing, but then a man at the reception named Ricardo told us that \"they had an error in the reservation system,\" and that they only had three nights registered, so they took all our belongings out of our room!

We were in shock. Some from the hotel (we assume) had entered our room during the day without our consent, took our belongings, clothes, toiletries, and personal items, and placed them in our suitcases or bags without authorization. We also lost some money.

We called the police and reported what had happened in front of the guy at the front desk. The experience was embarrassing, and we had to leave the hotel with all our belongings in many bags, in a messy way, at 10:30 p.m. for another hotel in the city. Expedia only offered us compensation to pay for one night in another hotel.

It was just awful. We did not receive any kind of compensation or apology from anyone in the hotel administration. I do not expect anyone to go through this humiliating, sad, and unfortunate experience.

CONFIRMACIÓN DE HOTEL DOCHILE NO CUMPLIDA

La experiencia resultó incómoda, ya que Hotel no respetó la confirmación de 3 camas individuales. Alternativa que ofreció fue pasar una noche en otro hotel (Estrella de Arganil) que nos cobró 80 euros la noche. Al día siguiente volvimos a Hotel do Chile, el que sólo nos ofreció 2 habitaciones de 2 y 1 cama respectivamente. Toda esta situación nos costó el doble de lo que el Hotel do Chile nos había confirmado, esto es, habitación con 3 camas por 3 noches a 185 euros y por la situación planteada pagamos en total 80 euros la primera noche y 280 euros las siguientes 2 noches. Total: 360 euros. Recomiendo no confiar en lo que el Hotel confirma. No es de fiar en esa situación.

El hotel está muy limpio (es su principal punto a favor) pero las instalaciones son muy viejas y no todo está bien cuidado. No está en la zona céntrica y turística, pero tiene buenas conexiones en transporte público. En cuanto a la atención del personal, la llegada fue decepcionante en todos los sentidos: la primera impresión es de hotel de otra época y anunciaban que tenían aparcamiento de pago pero al preguntar nos dijeron que estaba lleno. Si es necesario reservarlo, deberían dejarlo claro, pues cogimos ese hotel en gran medida por ese motivo. Además, lo peor fue la actitud de la recepcionista, que no nos ofreció ninguna alternativa y, al preguntarle por otros aparcamientos en la zona, respondió vagamente como si no fuese con ella a pesar de nuestro enfado evidente.

Olha , o hotel é muito bem localizado , próximo de metrô , mercado , restaurantes etc… o quarto com duas camas ok , Tv com vários canais . A equipe é prestativa , só o café da manhã que é bem simples , só com o básico . E também achei o estacionamento que embora seja propriedade do hotel é bem caro 15 Euros .

Hyvällä paikalla perustasoinen 2-tähden hotelli

Vanha uudistettu hotelli. Varaustetaso on hyvä, aamiainen kunnollinen (kuten Etelä-Euroopassa yleisesti, vähän tuoreita vihanneksia, paljon makeita leivonnaisia). Sijainti on hyvä (tärkeimmät turistialueet alle 3 km etelään, lentokenttä 5 km pohjoiseen), metroasema lähellä. Näkymä ikkunasta oli sisäpihalle. Hotellihuone oli pinta-alaltaan pieni ja kaksoisvuode kapea. Hyvin siistiä, pyyhkeet vaihdettiin päivittäin.
