First impressions was not great! When I arrived I was told to leave and get cash out of the ATM form a gas station two blocks away for my room deposit. (Which was not mentioned in the discrimination online) I had to pay a $7 resort fee and a 5$ ATM fee to get the key to the room I paid for during booking. Once I got in the room I immediately noticed a broken leg on the desk that was cracked, a civilization of dust bunnies on the fan. Then, when you turn the fan on you can see the dust flying off. The face plates were missing in certain places and the Hot Tub water handle had a stack brown clay all around it to prevent leaks. To top it off, I got two towels really dirty after a beach outing and they changed me $40 dollars out of my $100 deposit. Never staying there again!

The photos are not up to date on the property or the rooms. The walk to the hotel room was upsetting as the ice machine was down with an out of order sign, the washer and dryer looks very bad, the vending machine does not work, and the swimming pool is green with very poor outside furniture. The inside of the hotel room was disappointing, especially the bathroom. Very outdated and obvious water damage to the bathroom door that been nailed back together. The bathroom mirror was awful with black splotches that could not be rubbed off, no hairdryer but the outline of it was still on the wall, no toilet paper holder or towel holder due to the bars for each missing.
Room service only came one time during our four day stay.
All in all, the hotel was not the best and I don’t understand how the reviews are so good after seeing what it truly was.

Pet friendly there is a fee and a deposit. It is a cash deposit so you have to let them inspect the room before you leave to get your deposit back however it wasn’t an issue for us. We got our deposit back. This was the first time taking our dog on vacation with us and couldn’t have had a better experience. The staff was helpful and kind. Very professional for the price. Definitely worth what you’re paying for. You got a deal, we have to budget vacation. This hotel in South Padre will be one of the few vacations we add to our roster that is not a cruise.

There is a $100 CASH deposit that you aren't made aware of ahead of time, like before you book. More if it's during spring break. The front desk showed me where to find this information hidden in a link in my email receipt I had received AFTER I had booked the room. This seems deceitful and they DO NOT TAKE A CARD. It must be cash, which means there's no way to dispute it if the make up any extra charges. You get it back at check out so you have to stand there at the front desk while the go inspect your room. Thank God it was a Monday and we weren't in a hurry. Imagine if there's a load of rooms all checking out at once. The room and property were ok. Nothing particularly special. The pool was full of kids that night so we waited till the morning but then it was dirty so we didn't get to use it. It was cheap and served it's purpose, which was simply a place to sleep. I feel the hotel & hotels.com can do better about NOT having hidden fees.

They Charged $7 a night resort fee (this place is far from a being called a resort). They also require a $100 “CASH ONLY” deposit that gets collected before they give you the key card (NO EXCEPTIONS). They do not have breakfast or coffee or Ice, the machine looks like it hasn’t worked in months or years. The rooms are cheap hotel $29.99 a night looking, mattresses are those super cheap squeaky ones , the cheapest ones imaginable. They tell you not to lose your cheap paper car tag permit because they won’t be responsible if it gets towed. When you check out it’s a lengthy process which they don’t tell you in advance. Upon check out, you need to turn in your key card and cheap paper permit, also in order to get your $100 cash deposit you need to wait for the front desk worker to go to your room and physically inspect before they release you the money. If there’s multiple people checking except to wait for the one worker to go inspect rooms. it’s a super cheap hotel, wouldn’t pay more than $29.99 a night .

They def were not all staying there. They were blasting music and being rude to us. Cannot believe they have good reviews on this app. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We were all this place for 5 nights. They did not freshen the room daily. We had to go to the front desk to get towels and toilet paper. They changed the sheets and made the bed one time. They do not have an elevator. It was just ok. I’m guess for an inexpensive place to stay for a few nights it is ok. The pool is not heated and the hot tub was subpar warm.

The pool was locked and they had no ice and that gave my daughter an empty ice bucket after telling her there was no ice and on top of that the bucket was sandy. The room had no shampoo or soap had to make a trip to the office to ask for some. On top of that all the added fees.

The property is on the bay side, off the main road, providing easy access to most anything you want to do. Had a very nice time, decided to stay the week. Got a chance to do some fishing, bike the beach and greater island, dance, sing, laugh, joke around, shop, go to a variety of restaurants and bars, enjoy live music, mingle, run a 5k, visit the parks, enjoy the attractions, do Casino Nite and watch SpaceX launch their megarocket successfully! Had a great time, thanks to everyone who had a part in my wonderful stay! -T

The stuff was really rude. Nowhere in the expedia app says its 100$ cash deposit! I showed them and they said i have to call and still give the deposit so I drove to an ATM and got the cash. However, when i told them about expedia not having the cash details they said I have to call. NO YOU HAVE TO CALL! Its your hotel, more guests will come with no cash cause its not advertised. For sure I know not to stay in this hotel ever again. The room was dirty, had old eyelashes stuck to counter tops. At checkout time another lady at front desk said “i dont have time to check the room to give deposit back, so ill give you the cash and if anything ill use your card” i said NO MAM, go check the room right now because thats the purpose of the cash, i waisted time at check in when I couldve just given deposit with my credit card, she got mad and checked the room and gave me the cash back. They are not friendly, very rude and mean.

I did not like the service of front desk. Once I tried checking in, I got the vibe that I may end up owing money for something. They have a price list posted for random hypothetical damages and they immediately warn you you will get charged for this and that. If I could have cancelled my reservation without losing my money, I would have and paid a little extra for staying elsewhere. I would not stay there again.

My experience at this location was not what I expected. The air conditioner did not cool the room enough to be comfortable until around 4 a.m., and it was extremely loud while making strange noises.

There was also a $60 cash deposit, which I understand, but it could not be refunded until the room was inspected. Since the office does not open until 9 a.m., it makes it impossible to check out earlier if your schedule requires it.

In addition, our car was towed. According to witnesses, the tow truck operator arrived less than five minutes after we parked. We did have a parking pass, but the tape provided did not hold. When we closed the doors, it flew off and ended up resting on the center console facing upward. I understand this technically did not meet the requirements, but with just a little effort or understanding on their side, the situation could have been avoided. That night, a total of three cars were towed from the property.

When I spoke to the young man at the counter, he already knew who I was and confirmed that I was the driver.

It was so bad I showered and left and took a loss on my money. And Hotels.com should take this dumpster hotel off their website it really should be tore down and haul off to the dump.

Very dated property. The pictures you see look nothing like what you get. The people working had no customer service skills. The door latch didn’t work well. They have a surprise $60 cash deposit (not a credit card for incidentals). Room has to be checked before you receive your deposit back. Ice maker doesn’t work. No pool towels available. You are charged $7 per day as a “resort fee”. Ask for the fee to be returned since they didn’t have anything that the supposed resort fee covered and they refused. My husband trying talking to them several times but each time they were rude and didn’t want to speak to him since it was my name on the reservation. Bed was on a flimsy frame. TV was super small. The restroom door was broken. Towels are super cheap and were limited. AC in room was very cold. Only one vehicle is allowed to be parked on the property. There was a pad lock to the fishing dock and when asked for the key they said they didn’t know where it was and will look for it (didn’t happen). They were trying to be strict with all these rules and threatened to tow your vehicle if it didn’t have a permit yet vehicles with no permit were parked. The property has so much potential.

For the price I paid for the 2 nights we stayed it was very much not good vibes. The place is not well kept. The bathroom shower thing had mold on the bottom. The beds really are done for and squeaky every time you turn (I roll like a rotisserie) the pillows were like little balls. The really weird sus thing that happened that just made me feel weird to begin was that they asked for a 60$ deposit… I don’t know why they would do this… and it could only be cash…. Anyway… we only had 20$ in cash so they took that.. and they had to inspect the room for us to get the money back… i understand they may have this cause some dumb people come and do stupid stuff… but they should have the info available on every sight their hotel is on. Anyway… definitely would NOT return. My brothers stayed at the Marriott and it was day and night 😭and I could have gotten a room there for 50$ more a night! Safe to say I was so disappointed. Also my husband killed a roach in the bathroom🙄
