I enjoyed the hot breakfast and the pool was great! The only bad thing was that on my way to my hotel room after getting breakfast, a roach fell on my plate and I ended up throwing it away. But other than that everything else was pretty clean. Would I stay here again, probably not. The staff were great and friendly.

I had booked this hotel because I thought the price was great for being on the island, however I started doing more research and noticed how bad the reviews were. I honestly wanted to cancel and booking and go somewhere else, but because of the way I paid for it, I feel like I would’ve run into more issues so I just kept it. So here’s what we encountered. 1) The elevator was still out of order but we were able to get a room on the 1st floor. 2) The room did not have any towels in the room, we had to ask for them. 3) The bathroom had stains on walls, looked like vomit or something. 4) Sheets had stains. 5) We got a room with a sofa bed and there were no extra bedding or pillows for it so when I went to go ask, they told me they didn’t provide that, only the bed sheets for it. So had door dash a blanket so that my daughter can have a nice blanket to sleep with. 6) Staff were nice enough but I felt like I was bothering them every time I had to ask for something. 7) The eating area was super small but as along as we got there early we were able to get seats at a table. 8) The food was good. Now I’m not sure how the housekeeping would’ve been because we kept the do not disturb on the door. But I would take them my towels and then they would give me new ones, no issues there. We also just took our own trash bags and threw them out ourselves. Overall just felt kind of unwelcoming and mediocre at best. But you get what you pay for I guess. I have more to say bit ran out of space.

I am unsure whether remodeling was ongoing, but there was no elevator available. The air conditioning system did not cool effectively. There was extensive patching on the walls, which did not match the images provided. I also observed a couple of insects in the restroom. Overall, I was not satisfied with the facilities. Additionally, the staff was unhelpful and appeared to be merely present without offering assistance.

Beware, avoid this place at all cost. Roaches in the room. TV didn’t work. Dirty pillow and cases. One woman at the check-in doing everything at the hotel from fixing, issues to checking guest in. This is the worst hotel I’ll been to in my entire life. Me and my wife checked out of the hotel within mins. No elevators.

This property is old and needs some maintenance and structure updates to be a comfortable stay. I stayed with my daughters for three nights. Each day we left the hotel and came back the room card was deactivated. There was one towel placed at arrival for a reservation of four. The wall against the AC unit on the bottom appeared to have mold and rust build up. There were two occasion with bugs… a roach and a small spider. Ruined the comfort level. Pillows were horrible. On a positive note the staff was very attentive, always available at the front desk and the cleaning staff was great.

Towels were never available when me and my family needed them we kept being told housekeeping would bring them to us after they have been washed every single day we traveled 8 hrs and couldn’t never shower at the exact time we wanted. Also the hotel didn’t have face towels at all so we had to buy our own which is ridiculous never had to do this at any other hotel ever in my entire life. Also the power went out and smone alarm went off and no explanation was given for either one. The breakfast was alright but not top tier. Also the room kept getting really even while having the air conditioning on and set at a cold temperature it wouldn’t remain cold all day or all day making it very uncomfortable. I would personally never use a Comfort Inn ever again no matter the location it’s a huge no and red flag for me! I guess it’s true though you get what you pay for!

So I got 2 suites. One for my older kids, the other for the rest of us. The kids room was OK. My room had hairs in the bed, broke down nasty looking couch, broken showers door that wouldn't close, and a broken toilet paper holder. The shower looked painfully old with black scum in between the tiles. I went to the front desk and they got us into a standard room that was a lot better. Second problem, towels. There were 2 towels and face cloths per room. I went and got 4 more towels for the 6 of us. Next morning they took all the the dirty and clean towels. Problem is they said we never returned. I told you them all and left 1 towels and face cloth per room. I was told sorry we don't have notes to give you more towels. I had to fight every night with the night staff to get towels. The maids all talked 💩 in Spanish and tried not refreshing the bedding after being asked to. When they had to come back and do it, that's when they took the clean towels they had given me, under protest, that morning. This was hands down THE WORST place I have ever stayed, and I was in the Army, I've stayed in some real dives before. Not only did I find hairs, but what appears to be blood stains. You be the Judge.

The room was very clean and even smelled clean when you walk in. It was also surprisingly spacious. Staff was friendly. I thought breakfast would be the pastry and cereal "continental" but they had eggs, sausage, waffles and a few other options. Pool is kind of small, but clean. Only "bad" thing is a complaint i have about a ton of hotels: super slippery bathtubs. Like, hold on to the rail while you shower, slippery.

The building smelled of mildew and smoke. The sheets smelled like piss. One of my beds of the two queens didn’t even have comforter on it. When I asked for one, they said they didn’t have any. Will definitely NEVER stay at this location again. It was the only option I had this go around, but never again.

A/c didn’t cool well the shower leaked water the lady that checked me in was nice the rest of the staff was rude or didn’t speak English breakfast area was small and crowded and everyone took all the food like it was a race no employe was there monitoring it. elevator was broken steps going up stairs are uneven first step almost made me lose balance. tv is outdated for the price i paid i was expecting better i could have booked the same quality room down the street for less i honestly feel robbed cause of how much i paid for this room

During breakfast, my wife’s chair broke while she was holding our 2 year old. One leg from the chair broke off, causing the chair to fall backwards. Thankfully my wife managed to catch herself from falling all the way. Hotel staff quickly changed the broken chair, but didn’t care to ask if my wife was okay or apologize for the incident.

The room looked somewhat like the pictures online but definitely different compared to what was advertised. Unfortunately, there was a huge cockroach in our room every night, which made the stay very uncomfortable... The door had large gaps underneath so you could hear everything from outside and it felt like there was no privacy at all. The tv remote was literally broken in half. Although the bed itself was comfortable, I would definitely recommend bringing your own pillow because theirs flatten completely and even your ancestors will feel that neck pain.

We were on the second floor and the elevator was broke down. There was no indication prior to booking that it was under construction. I brought four smaller children who I had to do multiple trips up and down the stairs with and carry heavy luggage. There were big rips in the comforter. The floor in the room turned my white socks black. There were six of us in a room and they only had one towel and one wash cloth. The hallway floor and stairs look like it hasn’t been vacuumed in months. There was food on the couch and chair in our room. Housekeeping came in once out of the 3 nights and took the towels we went and got from the front desk and our wash cloth and only left one towel again. Staff were nice and respectful and the breakfast was well stocked. Hotel is in a pretty decent location.

When we got there, the staff was nice and checked us in quickly. However, as we got into our room there was a string smell of paint. Then there was mold in the bathroom on the ceiling and looked as if the ceiling fell apart. Then around the ac area was mold and moisture. I went to the front desk and asked if we could be moved to another room due to the smell. At first they stated no but then moved us to the second floor. When we got there, the room was a bit better. However, could hang our towels due to the towel rack being broken and barely on the wall. Then I couldn’t use two outlets, due to the mirror blocking it or it just didn’t work. The phone in the room didn’t even have numbers on it. When we turned the lights on it would flicker for about 1-2 minutes then it would stay on. Bathroom door didn’t either close or lock. Which we found very comical. When we went to eat breakfast, it was much smaller than the pictures showed and there was no room. But yet you couldn’t take the food to your room, per the signs placed around. You couldn’t tell who was staff or customer due to the way they were dressed. Either they were in workout clothes or jeans and crop top. Very over priced for the condition of the hotel, pictures definitely do not match what it actually is.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but this experience needs to be shared.

My stay at Comfort Inn & Suites in Padre Island was extremely disappointing. The room we were first given was absolutely filthy—bathroom not cleaned, stains and dirt all over the walls, and it looked like it hadn’t been properly maintained at all. There were even exposed electrical chutes with wires hanging, which felt unsafe.

Because of how bad the room was, we had to be moved to a different one. While the second room was slightly better, it still did not meet basic cleanliness standards and looked nothing like the photos advertised online.

What made things worse was the customer service. A supervisor acknowledged how unacceptable the original room was and promised us a discount for the inconvenience. However, when it came time to follow through, no discount was given.

Due to how horrible the accommodations were overall, we ended up leaving a day early because we simply did not feel comfortable staying there any longer.

This experience was frustrating from start to finish. The lack of cleanliness, safety concerns, and failure to honor what was promised is unacceptable. I even took video footage to document everything.

We will not be returning, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a clean and honest stay.

I think the outside could use a bit of work but overall the hotel is still a good solid choice ! The property is located in the middle of the everything though not directly to beach access you could simply cross the street over 2 streets down to it !

I recently stayed at Comfort Inn in South Padre Island with my family, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. The photos online are quite misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the hotel. Upon entering, there was an unpleasant odor, and the floors appeared dirty.

Check-in was quick, which I appreciated, but once we got to the room, it was clear the property is quite outdated. We stayed in a two queen bed room, which felt very small. The bathroom was extremely tight, with only the bare essentials. Many items—including the bathroom, sink, and microwave—looked old and worn.

Cleanliness was a major concern. The pillows had a noticeable smell, like unclean hair, which was very off-putting. The blankets had multiple visible stains on both beds. There was also a sofa in the room that smelled old and dirty.

Breakfast was another disappointment—very limited flavor and not enough seating, making it crowded and uncomfortable.

Overall, I was not satisfied with my stay. This experience taught me to be more selective when choosing hotels in the future.

Elevators were not working Luke warm water in the shower had to reset key card. They do not clean your room if you stay more than one day you have to request and if you need clean towels you need to take the ones you already use downstairs in order for them to give you more towels and they only give you three towels. They didn’t give you hand towels either. The lady at the front desk was very rude. She clearly told me that checkout was at 11 AM but could not tell me that I needed a request my room to be cleaned. How am I supposed to know that every hotel that I’ve been to always clean my room on a daily and clean towels she never once mentioned that I needed a request for my room to be cleaned or clean towels. The only way I get clean towels if I request them and I gotta take them my dirty towels that was mine blowing in itself did not bother eating their breakfast. how are we supposed to know that we have to request our room being cleaned? I was so angry. Will not come to this hotel again or any other comfort in hotel

When i checked in the young lady that was there was nice and polite and it was a quick check in. Since we were on the second floor i thought maybe use the elevator but they don't have one.
Once we got to the room i was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room it was spacious and a good size. Once we got settled i was looking for extra comforter in the cabinets and didn't find one what i did find where roaches. If there are roaches in the cabinets then there are roaches in other places as well. When i went to turn the bed to go to sleep we noticed that the comforter and the sheets were dirty. I went to grab the phone to call and the phone had no line hooked up to it so i couldn't make the call thru there..i.guess they have it as decoration as well.as the clock it was not working. I called the front desk with the cell phone and a gentlemen answered and i asked him for extra sheets and comforter because the sofa bed didn't have anything so that whoever was going to sleep there could cover themselves.The gentlemen said that they didn't have any extra comforters that they only had enough comforters for the amount of rooms that they had. And I told him, how were they gonna go help a guest out? If they didn't have, I ate comforter to cover themselves up with. If it was dirty and he said it was out of their hands, he couldn't do nothing about it. The breakfast was mediocre not what i expected the eggs were bland and the sausage links didn't seem to be cooked right. Never Again!

The room I booked which was supposed to have 2 queen beds and 1 pull out couch, was not available. I was told the price was the same for the 1 queen bed. There was vent in room 201 that let out into the hallway and we could hear EVERYTHING going on outside. Also there is some sort of damage above the door which looked like water damage. Place was very clean, room was excellent and breakfast was awesome! Texas shaped waffles!!! Beans, eggs, potatoes, sausage, all the cold foods and pastries, juices and coffees, milk etc. the room was huge and very convenient, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful!! They saved us by helping us with our luggage when we were in between reservations. Will stay again!!! (Only thing that could improve is that the mattress on pull out couch is bad. But every single hotel pull out couch we've stayed in has been bad. I wish they had foam mattress pads or something to help with the bad springs) but the rest was good, the bed mattresses were very comfortable!!!!
