We were disappointed with this property. We had stayed here in previous years and had no problems. However this trip the property is showing wear and tear. Public bathrooms were dirty. There were a number of times there were no towels in pool area. Staff was nice but overall the property was not what was expected for the cost. We will not be going back.

The pool and staff were nice. Margaritaville no longer has access to the Sapphire gym. When my husband asked about it they just said they don’t have access anymore. Later on, we found out you can get vouchers to Shoreline Barbell Club in Port Isabel. That would have been helpful to know. The grounds are nice and clean; however, the cleanliness of the room was subpar. The counters were sticky and had cereal on it, the pantry was stinky, the trash can was disgusting, and the bathrooms needed some TLC as there was mold and buildup everywhere.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo and it was nice sized. Had everything we needed. My only complaint was not being able to keep it cool and I think it is just hard to do in such a humid environment. But the resort was beautiful and we had a wonderful time! Would definitely recommend.

First room they put us in was so humid that the bed felt wet and we found mold in the curtains. They changed us rooms and the second room was just as humid and had good knows what type of stains on the bed, we checked out and demanded a refund which was given

\"Resort\"? When you book a room, you assume everything about the hotel is included. But no! They charged you a \"resort fee\" that does not include anything, because they also charge you $15/day for parking and $50/day for an umbrella and beach chairs. It doesn't include breakfast.
At the end, the stay is much more expensive.
I checked in early, but my room was given 1 hour late.

The bed was comfortable. The restaurant food and service were good. Partial ocean view high floor room 603. Ocean and beach views were not visible from the room. You had to stand on the small balcony and look 90 degrees to the left. The floors in the room were dirty. The pool could use more chairs. The beach access was good and easy right behind the pool.

I was very disappointed with our stay.

We had a serious humidity and moisture problem in our room from the moment we arrived. The floor was constantly wet, and there was condensation all over the ceiling. At night, water droplets formed on the ceiling directly above the bed and actually dripped on us while we were sleeping. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel room.
When we reported the issue to the hotel, instead of addressing the problem, staff blamed us. They claimed it was because the balcony door had been left open, which was not true. The door was closed for most of our stay. They also told us we needed to keep the air conditioning set at 67°F, which made the room uncomfortably cold. Guests should not be required to keep a room at an unreasonable temperature just to prevent water from dripping from the ceiling.

The cleanliness was also disappointing. When I took a hot shower and the glass fogged up, I could clearly see writing left by previous guests on the shower glass. This showed that the glass had not been properly cleaned before our arrival.
The location is great, but the condition of the room, the lack of cleanliness, and the way the hotel handled our concerns made this a very frustrating experience. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it based on our experience.

Everything was great except the main pool was pretty nasty at 3pm on a Saturday when the kids wanted to go out there. There were empty beer cans and drinks left on the sides of the pool, a pizza slice by the steps, a half eaten hamburger on a plate by another set of steps with lettuce in the water, and once the daughter got in with her goggles there was a half eaten pickle on the bottom of the pool. Kinda reminded me of Caddy Shack. Other than that, fantastic time, great room, and the staff was the best out of all the resorts we have ever been to.

The staff was friendly and provided prompt service when requested. The cleanliness of the rooms need a lot more work. Bathroom curtain looked very old dead spider on it and it was stuck on there. Lots of rust on the bath bath. I understand beach water and sand it’s challenging to keep clean/maintain but it should be a priority. Bedding had stains, hairs ,I didn’t realize it’s pet resort friendly prior to booking so maybe people let their pets sleep on the bed cause that’s what the hair looked like. Parking lot needs work pot holes and no painted lines for charging daily price it should be used to maintain the parking lot.
It was alright. But convenient to be on the beach and the pool was very nice.

My husband and I just didn't Memorial day weekend here and it was a wonderful stay. Friendly staff- clean pools and comfortable room. My only drawback was the shower. There was good water pressure and temp however we were given a room with a tub and shower curtain liner desperately needed to be changed. The faucets and shower head both need some CLR. I give it a small pass bc I understand being near the beach can cause rust due to the humidity and salt water however they could do a better job of maintaining those things. The beach was nice... lots of seaweed on the beach but it didn't smell and didn't seem to get in the way of enjoying the water. Overall a great experience and will come back again.

We had a 2 bedroom condo with full kitchen. It was fabulous! Beach access was great, easy to rent chairs & umbrellas too. Food and drink was nice and not over priced. The only ding was online they said they have a gym and they don’t. We were told it was being renovated and the bell guy said they lost their agreement with the Sapphire next door. Anyway we found a EXCELLENT GYM in town for $25/day Island Fitness. So all went well.

Rooms were very clean with very helpful and courteous staff, not to mention very easy access to the beach.

The property has 5 level 2 EV chargers 4 of which are Tesla and one non-Tesla which actually is very helpful since the nearest Tesla supercharger is 23 miles away in Brownsville.

What I wished the hotel would have done was to charge the careless and irresponsible Tesla owners who kept their cars occupying the stalls well after their cars were fully charged with zero regards to other EV owners. Especially since there are no superchargers in the island.

Overall, had a great stay and will definitely go back again.

Our favorite place to stay on SPI! Nice pools, fun DJ, easy access to the beach. Only cons were they ran out of towels for a while and we were ignored by the pool waitstaff. Room was clean, bed was comfy, and balcony had nice partial views (but we were able to see the bridge and fireworks). Loud family with babies next door woke us up too early. But everything else was great!

I had the pleasure and opportunity to stay at the Margaritaville S.Padre Island resort for 1st time on 5/16 & 5/17/26 with my wife. I must confess it was worth the long drive from Houston. I was impressed by the exterior and interior beach outlook!

My positives of stay.

- appreciated we could use the pool while our room was ready to use.
- liked the pool bar & staff very friendly!
- liked the fact that the beach was within walking distance of pool.
- liked the clean atmosphere of hotel inside including the rooms.
- DJ on saturday at pool was good!
- souvenir store.

Wish List of improvements!
- complimentary breakfast would have been nice for the price you pay for stay.
- better dinner menu at Landshark Restaurant.
- better food menu at pool site, a lot of the food on menu not available.
- DJ playing on both saturday & sunday.
- not having to pay for parking during your stay.
- room phone did not work.
- parking garage had trash on lot many places could have been cleaner.

Overall, a positive experience and would return to this resort and recommend it to my friends. BTW I am a huge fan of the late Jimmy Buffett and I really thought the hotel made me think of his song!

First off, I want to clarify we didn't have housekeeping come in during our stay since we brought our own bedding. Because of this, we would have to ask for towels and wash cloths. Half the time, the front desk wouldn't pick up the phone, so my husband had to go downstairs to ask for some. They said they would send some up ASAP. We waited hours and kept calling. I understand housekeeping was done for the day but most hotels keep towels near the front desk. I was left waiting two separate times for towels while butt naked fresh out of the shower. This was 30-45 minutes after my husband asked for towels. One morning my husband caught housekeeping down the hall and asked for some towels and wash cloths and he would give her the dirty ones in return. She told him \"when we get to your room.\" Oh ok. She may have misunderstood him because during our last day there, he asked housekeeping again and they happily gave him whatever he asked for. We also had the shower drain clog 3 separate times. The first time, I called the front desk and they sent someone to come take care of it. After 24 hours it was clogged again. We just took care of it after that since getting service had been so difficult. Listen, my husband is basically a silver back gorilla and I have long hair....but dang our shower at home doesn't get clogged 3 times in 5 days. Please be so fr.

Love staying here great staff great location, beautiful rooms very comfy. Valet is awesome. My only complaint is the pool bar closes way to early then we have to walk in wet and cold to the bar inside to get drinks and you can’t even enter the double doors by the bar cause they block that off I had to enter through the restroom. Big detour should have waiters pass by the pool to offer service. Other than I recommend staying here.

Room cleaning service SUCKS.. We checked in and there was actual feces on the toilet. If they didn't clean the TOILET, What else didn't they clean?? We had maid service and it took them about 5 freaking hours! Locked out of our room while she was on get cell phone. We weren't allowed to vape OUTSIDE or on our balcony without \"Karen\" coming to ruin what otherwise would've been a good time. There's no continental ANYTHING... Everything costs money, even parking. You're paying for a NAME, DEFINITELY NOT A QUALITY STAY. The only somewhat decent thing I can say is, the bed and pillows were super comfy.

It’s a great hotel to stay in, but I thought there would be more for the whole hotel since it is very expensive and it’s called a resort. There’s no breakfast, I didn’t find my way to the gym. All they have to offer was a bar, a restaurant in the hotel, and a mini convenience store. The pool was amazing. Very clean rooms, and nice view even tho we got the Partial Ocean View!

The beach access was nice, but umbrellas come at an additional cost. The pool was okay. The staff was excellent and customer service was great.

The on-site restaurant was decent, but not the best. The food truck by the pool was actually better than the restaurant. Drinks were good overall.

That said, the restaurants outside the resort are significantly better—well worth trying.

Kitchen faucet was leaking and flooded the counter and floor. Someone came up, said they wld fix it in the morning and nobody ever showed to fixed it. Water pressure in shower is a joke. Took forever to rinse hair. Staff around property are NOT very nice. Won't be returning and will post everywhere how rude the staff is and about the 2 water issues. Place is way too expensive to deal with that.

Get to the pool early on the weekend if you want a chair. There is no fitness center on site if this is important to you.

The room was “damp “ and the air conditioner was so loud . The sheets where wet /damp and the room smelled of mold . They sent us maintenance and told us to keep the room at 63–64 … we froze it was so cold and smelled even worse . We changed rooms which was better no mold smell but we still had the same problem with the damp room wet sheets and soooo cold at night with the air conditioning right at your face . Did not sleep well at all for 2 night .

Charged a $35 a day “resort fee” and $12 a day parking fee even though the parking lot looks like trash. The pillows are soggy , entire room was humid - the building is very old , elevators are old. Pool is the better of it all , good music , food is ok at the Landshark, light, expensive drinks. Pool chairs are disgusting and not enough for so many people . No one is picking up empty drinks , cans and trash. This place needs a major upgrade to meet the price tag. Not enough bartenders , expect long lines for a crappy drink . NEVER making this mistake again.

The room had a smell like sewage water, the tv only had 25 channels to choose from, no apps, no streaming, the room felt humid and the south padre location required you to keep the temperature from 69-72 or you’ll be charged. The drinks were watered down at land-shark and the pool area. The food is lightly seasoned. The beach was nice and the pool seemed to be relaxing. The staff was friendly. Overall I will not be back it was not worth it.
