the parking situation was sooo difficult...far away, all cobblestones, ugh. they did send me an email about the difficulties but it was AFTER i booked. TV was awful, BBC news was the only english station. front desk did not speak or understand any english. could not drive to hotel, it was surrounded by ped areas and that was not clear. i called to see how to get in and thats when i realized the no english situation. all i understood was 'parking palais du papes' ugh. i will alwlays choose on site parking in the future.

Great location next to the plaza. Close to the citadel and all the attractions. Stairs are small and twisted but thankfully for the elevator. Room was small but comfortable. We didn’t get breakfast there but in a local bakery instead. Staff was very helpful.

Great location, easy to walk to from train station in Avignon Center. I had a lovely room with a view, it was very comfortable. I would have rated it higher but for several reasons:
1) when I went to check out their card reader rejected both my debit and credit card (using 2 different banks); they had NO alternate way to pay except cash, so I was forced to run to the bank to get enough cash to cover the bill just before I was scheduled to leave Avignon. This was very stressful and the ONLY place in the 6 wk I've been traveling throughout Europe where it happened. No problems with the cards themselves, just the reader.
2) there were a couple of cool nights but the heat was not yet turned on at the hotel.
3) there was no ice available at the hotel. No machine, nothing on request despite the hotel having a kitchen.

Just things for future travelers to consider.

Great location walkable to sights and restaurants, friendly and helpful staff at check in. Very clean room with nicely renovated bathroom and complimentary coffee machine. Only negative was the room was quite small, down a narrow passage and only had windows looking out on an interior stairwell and a ventilation shaft. Still a good value for the money considering the generous and tasty breakfast buffet was included in the price.

Property is in an excellent location close to restaurants and attractions. Nice and spacious with a full tub. Not a fan of the 1/2 shower door where water inevitably spills onto the floor... although seems to be the way with most hotels. AC was excellent and also appreciated the ability to open the window. Unfortunately even with a request to the hotel to review, Wifi wasn't good for most of the stay. Overall a very nice and pleasant stay.

Being inside the palace walls is an incredible experience. Parking is a little rough as the underground parking was far from the hotel. Cobblestone roads are not easy to roll your bags. But we loved our stay there.

The hotel's main selling point is its location, so central to everything you might need or want to visit. The staff were nice and helpful. I liked that the hotel was right in the center of things, easily walkable to everything. My only complaint is that my room smelled. It was hard to keep the window open, especially at night, because of mosquitos, so I felt as if I were suffocating. The smell was chemical and musky, very disturbing as if I was being asphyxiated. Otherwise, the staff were helpful and friendly and all was well!

The front desk clerk who greeted us (Sorry I can't remember her name) was amazing and pleasant. Very helpful. When you return to the hotel, if after 10 p.m. , you must enter a code to gain entry. We did not realize this and rang the bell. The lady who came to let us in seemed quite perturbed that we had bothered her. Great location and great hotel, just don't disturb the night manager!!

Location was great, very close to the old town. The only thing is that we thought the property comes with parking as it shown in the picture, but after we spend 5 minutes drive into the town and arrived at the hotel, we were told that only available parking was the underground parking palais des papes which the entrances is another 5 minutes driving outside the town. Good thing is that the hotel offers discount and we left our luggage at the front desk while we went for parking. Other than that I was very satisfied by the room condition, it’s very clean and has everything we needed,nexceed my expectation for a 2 star hotel.

The hotel is dishonest and cheats it's customers. It's air conditioning broke down but they did not inform me beforehand or even when I was checking in. I only found out after got to the room. I checked out immediately after asking for a refund. I was told to ask Expedia. To date, neither the hotel nor Expedia has agreed to give me a refund despite failing to provide for air conditioning as promised (it was warm as the sun cooks up the room in the day). I did not even stay past an hour and the hotel has eaten up my money for three days worth! If they had informed me beforehand that the aircon was down, I could have cancelled for free. The hotel is now lying hat they turned down the aircon to comply with some energy saving nonsense rule. They are also deleting my posts. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DISHONEST BUSINESS UNLESS YOU WANT TO END UP LIKE ME! Wish me luck in getting my money back!

Much to my surprise this hotel is a great option if you are staying in Avignon and want to be in the center of the city. Just don't eat at any of the touristy restaurants, there are lots of great places in Avignon and the hotel can give you \"Bonne Address\". Staff is very nice, place is very clean and the breakfast was good for the price. overall great value

Fantastic Location and Super-Helpful Staff

This hotel is not particularly impressive from the outside but once one enters the small interior, the warmth of the staff and cleanliness of the facilities forces a recalibration of the first impression. Our room was quite small but who goes to Avignon to stay in a hotel room? The location puts all the major tourist and cultural attractions within a few minutes walk yet “noise” was never a problem. Staff uniformly went well beyond what was needed. The savings on the room price allowed us to splurge on a fancier meal and other experiences. We’d certainly return.

Fabulous location! Walk straight out of train station for about 15 min & on the main square. Staff were very nice. Room was spotless! Bathroom was Perfect! All was newly renovated(?) I would stay again! Only negative: no lobby if you want to lounge. They DO have a luggage hold room & a breakfast room with terrace off of it. We stayed 1 nt but could be good for 3 nts as well. We have stayed at the mercure right past here next to the popes’ palace for 3 nts a few years ago & this was better!!

Good Hotel, Jan = Bad Time to Travel to Avignon

We enjoyed the hotel and being on the main plaza of the old town. The hotel itself was located conveniently to loads of museums and churches and the like. The hotel’s breakfast was a little underwhelming generally speaking - no real protein / meat options except bacon, coffee machine could have used some instructions on how to use it. Tried 3 ways the first morning before figuring it out, mostly because I hadn’t seen coffee pods like that before. Hotel bathroom was nice, bed was comfortable. Clean all the way around.

The big issue was that we travelled in January. We only stayed 2 of our 4 scheduled nights, moving to Paris 2 days early. So much of the city and museums and churches was just closed or had limited accessibility, probably because we were traveling out of season. I don’t blame anyone or anything for this, it just made it hard. Also, it was excessively windy in Avignon - none of the research we did beforehand indicated that the Mistral - the north wind - was so rough. We had one day that was 45F / 7C but with 24mph winds. It was NOT fun. The next day was similar temp but 18mph winds and it was better but not by a whole lot.

Very nice hotel with elevator. Breakfast was good. Yummy pastries. Was hard to get in for late checkin. Attendant was probably on break. Can’t get in door to reception unless someone is at desk. Location is in excellent.

Only complaint is that our shower drain was backing up. Slow draining. Did not complain because only stayed one night.
Got a room overlooking the square. That was nice

The hotel is in a fabulous location with many restaurants and stores nearby. It is close to the historic sites. The room although small is nicely laid out with all the convenience you are looking for. The staff is very friendly and overall the hotel is a very good value. The only negative is the parking is off site paid parking and a distance away which made bringing the luggage a problem. For a one night stay we paid an additional $14 euros to park and had to make two trips from the garage to bring our luggage across a rocky road. Absent that it was an excellent stay.

terrible smell in room and noisy - left early

When we checked in to the room there was a terrible sewerage like smell in the bathroom, we hoped just from the previous occupants and that it would go away. It did not. The smell was so bad and overwhelming it was pretty unpleasant to use the bathroom at all and also had spread to the room itself so made the overall stay quite revolting. Very disappointing that hotel staff let guests occupy this room when there was clearly something wrong with the bathroom - either the drains or the toilet required an extensive clean. The smell was constant the entire stay which we ended up leaving early (left after 2 nights instead of 3). The bathroom walls were also very dirty with brown splatters and the shower was not fully screened so the bathroom floor would get covered in water. Only provided a very small bath mat, and no extra towels to dry the floor either. The room was very noisy - located just behind the breakfast room and hotel laundry so lots of banging, slamming doors and noise. Also the hotel uses a noisy doorbell for after hours entry which we could hear from our room - why not give guests a key to the front door or use a code system so that guests aren’t disturbed! Overall this was a terrible stay and the disgusting smell resulted in us checking out early. Would not recommend!

Kyriad Avignon Palais des Papes is prime location! Looks out directly on the central square.
The staff were AMAZING! Super friendly and helpful!
My friend became ill on Christmas day and the person at the front desk took the time to find for me a pharmacy that was open so that I could get some medicine.
My second Christmas at this hotel and I love it!

The hotel has thought to everything to make their guests super-comfortable with Grohe toilet & sink, small fridge in room, free H20 bottle everyday, coffee/tea service in room, comfy bed. My advice to future guests, ask front desk on reservation and every morning to have housekeeping close curtain and leave your air conditioning settings untouched if you get #54 because it's like a sauna when you come in in the evening if these are not done. You can use this hotel to explore Provence.

Next to Everything

This hotel is next to everything most people visit in Avignon. They provided 10 percent off in the large underground parking lot. The staff was helpful with restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was a buffet that included eggs, sausage plus all the other usual choices of meats, cheeses, breads and yogurts. One pleasant surprise was frozen yogurt. I would stay here again.

We recommend his hotel. The location is perfect!! The room was clean, quiet, and sufficient. Staff friendly and accommodating. The only problem we encountered was that the ac in our room did not work and the weather was in the 80’s; but we were able to open the windows so that the room cooled off at night.

Conveniently located to everything. Entrance is between restaurants and cafes on the right hand side as you come from the train station, opposite the city theatre. I missed it first time when I walked past. Hence the detail for you!

The staff were very friendly, gave me two options of a room. They were always helpful and friendly. The room was large and provided me with everything I needed. This hotel offers competitive rates and helps you manage your travel budget well.

I completely recommend it.

Also the breakfast is very good and well priced.

The twin room was economical, the largest and most spacious, most comfortable beds, the largest bathroom and shower and very modern and up to date facilities. If all of the Kyriad hotels are exactly like this one, I’ll definitely pick Kyriad again. The location was fantastic, close to all of the tourist attractions and yet very quiet.
