Hôtel qui pourrait être superbe car l'emplacement et le cadre ( ancien cloître) s'y prêtent parfaitement. Cependant les chambres sont vraiment pas jolies ( déco inexistante, vieillissante, odeur d'égouts dans la salle d'eau). Rien à dire sur le personnels feminins mais le personnel masculin.....pas de sourire, l'impression de déranger.....bref ! Ce n'est pas un mauvais hôtel mais il y aurait des choses à revoir.

Modern section hotel , was of a very industrial design, not inkeeping with the main building. Room was adequate but window looked out at vent shaft (stone wall)
All facilities were satisfactory, staff pleasant, accomodation ,and professional.

This property is a beautiful historic building with tons of charm and a great location! Unfortunately, we didn’t understand the room options based on the description and ended up in a more modern “duplex” part of the building with an odd room configuration… The toilet was outside of the main hotel room in an “entryway” of sorts, and our exterior room door opened directly beside the restroom to be used for pool guests.

Perfect location right outside the Avignon City Central train station. The entry courtyard is stunning with a historic charm. While the room wasn’t ready until check-in time, I was happy to get access to the rooftop pool and wait with my sunglasses and book. My room was in the old section of the hotel - a simple, smaller room on the top floor with a comfortable bed. For those wondering, the air conditioning was more than enough to keep me cool during 90F days! It just takes a little while to cool the whole room - then I even turned it down. When I come back to Avignon, I’ll stay here again!

Really beautiful building, but the air conditioning doesn’t really work and the staff can’t fix it because the whole system is lousy. My bathroom smelled of sewer gas- yuck.

Good location 5 minutes to nice bars and restaurants. Its a lovely building, bar and restaurant looked nice but we didnt try them.
Room in the old part, best avoid if you can up a set of stone stairs not great if you have lots of lugguage. Nice room, but TV didnt work, wifi barely reached the room so was spotty at best, room only had one avaible plug socket, not what you need to keep the various devices topped up overnight. Air conditioning made a lot of noise, but barely did anything, too hot to sleep. Hotel didnt seem concerned to help i eventually got a fan from a member of staff which gave some air movement and made things bareable again, but then had to unplug the one item that had some charge to use it!
Overall looks nice but very dissapointing

I arrived on bicycle to a very basic reception desk with a long wait. I asked if I could take my bicycle to my room but was shocked to be told under no circumstances would that be allowed. What followed was shocking, one young man got involved and when i questioned why he was getting involved he told me to 'shut up' 'or else!'. I have never ever been spoken to and threatened like this before. Another a English guest I met had a very similar experience when checking in, the same man refused to accept they had 2 rooms booked and tried to charge for an extra room despite having confirmation. Very aggressive unapologetic staff on front desk including the reception manager. If you are English stay away from this hotel!!

Peaceful and quiet respite just one side street away from a main action filled street. Conveniently located a few short blocks from the Avignon Centre SNCF station—we dropped our bags and explored! Great hotel that we will return to. My only complaint- the shower pressure was meh.

The property is historic and picturesque. Our attic room was quaint, but its low ceilings probably would be difficult for tall people. (We are short.) There is a rooftop terrace, nice for sunning, with a small pool. The restaurant, including an outdoor patio, is good, and we also enjoyed the breakfast. (A minor complaint: creaky wooden stairs to the attic room and also an occasional very loud noise, which might have been the elevator?)
The employee who checked us in was efficient, but the night reception staff was wonderful! Around 11:00 pm, we realized that we had a transportation problem, and they quickly helped us solve it!
The hotel location, mere minutes from the Avignon Centre train station and just inside the city walls, is extremely walkable to the Palais des Pâpes and the Pont de Avignon, among other touristic sites. We rented bikes for a short ride through the city and on an island directly across from Pont de Avignon.
Avignon is also centrally located for day trips to other towns and sites, such as Pont du Gard.

Lovely grounds with outside seating areas. Unfortunately I must of been I a newer side of the hotel (room 12) which I can only compare the room to that of a storage container. The space was not laid out to the best of its abilities, tight space for toilet and dark bathroom. Wouldn’t recommend the room but would revisit the hotel, in a different style room.

Beautiful, characterful and quiet hotel.

Beautiful and characterful hotel in an excellent location. Five minutes walk from train station and 5 mins from the main squares and bars, restaurants etc. Friendly and efficient staff, happy to help when our air conditioning stopped working. Was fixed in 30 minutes and they also brought an extra fan in the meantime. Rooftop terrace with pool nice, but it was 34 degrees during our stay and there are no parasols/umbrellas just deckchairs. Small shaded area but gets full. Portable parasols would help with this. Breakfast ok, same everyday. A great place to stay in Avignon, near the bustle but very quiet.

Injured while showering!

Sadly our stay was not good. While showering literally the steel grate by the shower head fell on me. It hit my shin then my toes. I had marks and bruises and my toes were swollen. I immediately reported this to the front desk and was told \"this has never happened before\" and when I asked if they had any medical supplies or help they said no. They scheduled the maintenance man to come at 0930 the next day and he showed at 11. At no point during the remaining days of our stay did they offer to comp anything or even check on me to see if I was okay. It was beyond unacceptable and they are lucky I was not hurt worse. Also we woke daily to new bug bites each morning. There were bugs clearly in the room and biting us in our sleep. I would not recommend this place which is unfortunate because the location is great. Lastly, the photos are not accurate to what the hotel and pool actually look like. I'm extremely disappointed in how our vacation turned out and how little care was given when they saw my injuries and even had a picture of the injuries.

We stayed in a room located in a strange modern yet outdated annex to the original building. Room was dark and unwelcoming; shower head wouldn't stay in position and soaked the floor under water pressure. Doors slammed in other rooms during early hours. Breakfasting area was overcrowded; no trays to carry buffet food to the table - saw a poor disabled man knocked off his feet by a woman flailing around at the coffee machine. Pool was full of leaves. They tried to charge us for a meal in the restaurant we didn’t have, claiming we’d signed for it!

Lovely hotel, well located, great breakfast, curteous staff. My room was relatively inexpensive and quiet, however the window faced a wall. The decor was dark and the carpet was stained. I could not find any electrical outlet near the bed to charge my phone — I had to unplug the coffee machine.

Nice Building - Horrible Stay

The room was hot. The AC did not work. We opened the sliding door to the terrace. Conversations in the courttard late at night and early in the morning were loud. We could smell cigarette smoke. We think our room (106) was over the staff break area.

We were inundated by mosquitos through the open sliding door. Between the two of us we must have been bitten more than 40 times. Arms, shoulders, legs all with bites.

We informed the staff and requested check-out. We were told that our booking of two nights must be altered via Hotels.com.

We contact Hotels.com via website chat. The person helping us told us to go ahead and check-out and depart. That Hotels.com would confirm the change in our booking with the hotel from two nights to one night.

We are still waiting on confirmation of the change.

Breakfast service was not well organized, they ran out of serving plates, the fresh orange juice dispenser did not work properly.

The only aspect of our stay that was pleasant was staff interactions. Everyone was helpful and polite.

The front staff were very helpful and profesional, as were the restaurant staff. The room was large, but the bathroom was very small with a low ceiling. (I am 5'8\" amd I had almost had to duck in the shower). I give the hotel 3 stars instead of 4 because the WiFi was weak and spotty. When I complained to the front desk, they said that mangement has know about the problem for over a year, but did nothing about it. This is not a 4 star hotel by any means.

Hotel has potential, which is currently unused

Hotel has so much potential if the interior design and upkeep was better.
- interior looks tired, seating area in gallery is not welcoming, inner square has chairs and tables that are unused, and it just looks deserted
- inner square is full of leaves and not kept nice - lights in the tree and a vibrant terrace could really bring this place to live
- the rooms are tired and need remodelling. Also the toilet was so low it felt like a kids toilet.
- Outside woodwork is rotting away
- rooms smell peculiar, bit musty
- WiFi is AWFUL especially in the rooms
- The room had a connecting door and this was super noisy, we could hear everything it if the neighbours were talking at a normal volume
- the room doesn’t have curtains, only shutters, but these don’t block out the light entirely (also one shutter we had to block as it kept on opening)
- Room had huge cobwebs under the ceiling
- no place to work from, so had to sit in the restaurant as that was the only place with half decent wifi
Overall this place has so much potential, if only someone completely revamped it and ran it like a proper hotel

The entrance setting and courtyard were a beautiful welcome. We found the staff willing and accommodating to respond to our requests and provide any assistance we needed (even in English!). The hotel was close to the train station and positioned well for walking the streets of Avignon! We really enjoyed our stay!
