En revanche, l’hôtel est un peu vieillissant, notamment la chambre 604. On remarque des traces sur les murs et sur la porte des WC. De plus, le lavabo de la salle d’eau était bouché.
Un rafraîchissement des chambres et une meilleure attention à l’entretien seraient appréciables.

Breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel was excellent too. But, it is necessary to inform the guests that it is not easy to bring the luggage to the hotel individually. in my case, police officers gladly helped me to drive to the hotel.

This hotel was in a marvelous location for the walking tours and self exploration of this lovely city. The front desk was distant and disconnected with us. We were told there was a waiting list to get laundry done making it impossible to get any done. The breakfast had all the usual things but none of it tasted quite right. Overall this property fails to deliver on what is expected at a 4 star hotel

* please be aware there is no drop off outside the hotel unless you are in a taxi that is allowed to go into the pedestrian areas. The car park that is around the corner from the hotel is 1.90 and if your car is bigger the only car park is around 1.5 miles away. Then you have to take a taxi or shuttle bus.
Bedrooms are ok, beds comfortable but pillows are very lumpy foam, hotel is very tired, hallway carpet stained, bedroom doors damaged. Just combined shampoo and shower gel.
The location is the best thing about the hotel.

The property is very well located ( that’s why I had chosen it at the first place!).
However, it’s the only positive side I can mention for our stay. This hotel does NOT meet the standards of a 4 star hotel! The room was small, there was no garbage bin in the room, nor a phone for that matter ( to call the reception!). There is no little accessories that a 4 star MUST have ( small body lotion of slippers). Besides, there is no lobby per se in this hotel to sit and have a drink!
All on all our stay was very disappointing! It’s a shame because I used to appreciate Mercure hotels but I’m not sure I’ll choose this hotel in the future since the standards are not reliable.

It’s clearly an older building but refurbished. The room is okay. Beds are very comfortable. A drinking water machine is placed outside next to the elevator, which is very good when the tapwater taste metallic. The water pressure is fine, however, the shower is quite slow; it takes a long while to wash off the soap.

The location could not be better, when it is right next to the Palace.

Comfortable beds, great location but terrible bathroom. You have to step over a very high frame into the bath to have a shower. The toilet was wedged into a corner and it was impossible to sit properly on it. Wonderful location next to the Palais des Papes and easy access to restaurants and shopping.

Would have liked a balcony or street view, and options for tea and coffee in room were limited, with milk not replaced every day. Floor in bathroom became very slippery when wet.

The only feedback I would give is to clearly state the parking charge in the listing. They state that the offer a parking discount but it would have been better to know that parking in the city garage is 22eu per night as I would have calculated that and the city tax into the overall charge.

No access to the hotel because of barriers.

Tried to get into the hotel for two hours but was blocked every time by temporary barriers and electronic barriers. It was a nightmare trying to get to the hotel. I abandoned Avignon after two hours of driving various routes.
Will never book this hotel ever again.

It is next to Palaus du Papes, across from Place de Ville (City Hall) and Place de l’Horloge (many restaurants), and is within walking distance to supermarket and Pont d’Avignon. Spent one day leisurely touring Palais des Papes and Pont d’Avignon. Took a 9-hr tour of Provence (highly recommended). Hotel is basic and room is tiny, but room layout is functional (love the separate toilet and shower/sink vanity), and price is very reasonable. Highly recommend this hotel.

Can conveniently return to hotel room to refresh after morning visit of Palais des Papes and before venture out again to continue with Pont d’Avignon (purchased tickets online). Also right next to many restaurants and pasteries shops (best almond croissant from Le Festival) in Place de l’Horloge. There is a supermarket about 7 minutes walk away for fresh fruits, water, and other essential groceries). Hotel furnishings and amenities are basic, but functional and good quality. (Brought our own preferred toiletries.) Room is small, but functional and clean. Most importantly, beds are relatively comfortable. Slept well every night. Room rates are good. Beats many 5-star hotels for these combined benefits. Highly recommend this hotel and will come back on next visit of Avignon.

Two Mercures, make sure you go to the right one.

Driving in Avignon isn't easy, but it doesn't help that the parking lot for this Mercure is also the parking lot for another Mercure. I received parking instructions from the hotel that I made reservations that failed to mention that fact. Needless to say, parking and hauling suitcases to the wrong hotel isn't a good way to start a trip.

The property was right next to the Palace with lots of restaurants nearby . East to walk everywhere. Breakfast great and staff very friendly. Only two minis points no water in room and water bottle empty on corridor and the bathroom shower is extremely dangerous because it is so slippery.

Room was smoke filled and was leaking water. I presume someone smoked near or in our room and set the sprinklers off. They need to find us another room. I’m getting a headache breathing this smoke in. My wife and I do not smoke. I should not have to pay for this room. Terrible living conditions. They Ned to fix this right away!!! The desk clerk is trying to dry up the water now.

It should be made clear when a reservation is made that if you are driving the parking area/hotel location is quite difficult to find and the navigation does not work properly within the walled city.

This hotel is exactly in the center of everywhere! 10 min walk from rail way station , no taxis anywhere!! and Uber about 20 min wait!
7 min from Les Halles (don't forget to try those french local cheeses full of natural probiotics) Even friends that are lactose intolerant can eat them . Maybe the title should be processed intolerant!!
The Popes palace is next door and the bridge 5 min walk . The bedroom has a beautiful balcony , I felt I was a french woman sitting in that tiny balcony french type!

Location and the hotel are great

the hotel is conveniently located in the center of everything. lots of dining options, small shops and even better shops within walking distance. the room was good, we were on the first floor and had no problems with the outside noise. the hotel staff was helpful and nice. we chose not to have a breakfast as there were lots of small coffee and pastries shops nearby.

If you drive, you Don’t want to select the hotel! Hotel parking is very difficult to find and you have to drag your luggages on a old stone road and pass a crowd tourist area to enter the hotel! Good thing is that the hotel is located in the center of the attractions.

Fantastic location! Clean, comfortable room. My one concern was that I tried to use the air conditioner and it was only blowing out heat - however, it was mid-April and possible that the hotel had not yet turned on the AC. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - they really made me feel welcome.

The hotel was conveniently located near the hear of the older part of the city. The staff has very helpfull and pleasant. The room as smaller than I would have thought for a 4 star (French rating) hotel. You cannot park in front of the hotel to check-in and unload you luggage. In addition, GPS cannot help you find it.

Exellent Choice

The hotel is nicely located just behind the Palais de Pape. Staffs were wonderful to greet guests all the time, and facilities are clean and well managed. Breakfast is better than normal standard Accor style, and it is allowed to use the tables in business center with complimentary coffee. Perfect choice. I used parking at Palais de Pape, which is conveniently located. Only problem for me was the stair from parking to ground.

The check-in process was fine. Hicmat is friendly. Stephanie was very helpful in assisting us with our luggages left in the airport. Housekeeping did not replenish the coffee and it was very dusty. That wasn’t the worst part of this review. The most traumatic part was when my friend’s room was ransacked. All her valuables were stolen and the hotel director did not even make an effort to assist her. We went alone to the police station in the middle of the night without anybody from the hotel coming with us to at least give support and translate. It was so difficult to explain the crime considering there is a language barrier. I expected a lot more from this hotel and we were extremely disappointed. Client beware if you book this hotel.

I got robbed inside my room, the police came and did not see any force entry. When police asked to see the surveillance camera, the receptionist said that only the manager has the access. The receptionist said, that the hotel is not a safe location, because locals see what’s going on inside the hotel. She also mentioned that this thing happens there. Unfortunately, I have to go to my next journey the next day. So, I left my email address and Whatapp contact information for the manager to contact me. I also emailed the manager for follow up, but no response. Police report was completed, from their point of view, I was told that it looks like an inside job.

Best location and services

We had stayed there Nov 17 thru 24, 2019. It is located less than 100 yds from Palais des Papes and underground garage. There are so many good restaurants in walking distance. The receptionist (don't remember her name, but she came from Bulgaria) has helped us so many things friendly and she has best knowledge on local information that most tourists would need.

The property provides basic accommodations. The location is great for exploring Avignon. It is right in the heart of everything. The issue we encountered is not being informed about the level of complexity getting to the hotel by car. The roads within the city walls are very confusing and you need to know EXACTLY which route to take. To add to the confusion, the main road was closed for a parade the day we arrived. Our GPS dropped is within the walls and we had to walk through the town to find the hotel. Once we finally found it, the front desk explained parking and drop off routes. It would have been much easier knowing this information in advance.

Great location, not so great experience.

The location is excellent. However the hotel is quite run down. Our non - smoking room had clearly been smoked into and all they did was spray with refresher and that made it worse. Also, I am quite certain we got a ton of bites all over on our body while staying here. Still dealing with the pain.
The room lacked pillows. We got two tiny pillows. The shower design is so bad. Everytime the bathroom fills up with water spilled from the shower. The hotel needs work.

Perfect location

We had a basic room which was very clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but perfect as a home base for us during our stay in Provence. The hotel is perfectly situated in the center of the old town. Lots of sites, shops, and restaurants to walk to.

The staff is great and very helpful. The property location is fabulous, right next to the Papal Palace and a couple dozen restaurants and bistros. We also had the buffet breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would suggest anyone visiting Avignon seriously consider staying here.
