The location was great, staff were helpful, but the rooms were dirty and in desperate need of a renovation. The showers leaked everywhere and totally soaked the bedroom carpet. There appeared to be mold on the walls in the bathroom and the bathroom floors tiles in the corners of the bathroom were dirty. The beds were very worn. The AC was broken and the hair drier couldn’t last more than 30 seconds before it cut out. Other than a convenient location, I would not recommend this hotel.

Great value for a quick stay while in Avignon. Centrally located, price was great, and air conditioning in the room was the best part. Spacious room, bathroom, and clean. Front desk was friendly and always attended. I would highly recommend for a cheap, comfortable, great location for a stay in Avignon.

Went to make tea and coffee and the kettle was wet and dry from the last time with sediment floating in it. The floor in spots of the carpet had sink holes. Had to be careful where you stepped. Overall the room was decent and the price was a little high but also fair with the space you had and amenities (fridge, a/c), bed was comfy and clean along with the bathrooms.

It’s a decent hotel in a great location, staff is friendly but the only really complaint is the degenerate alcoholic that are on the Main Street near the hotel really detract from the appeal of this place! Totally not the hotels fault though

The main thing I liked about the property is the location near restaurants and not to far from Palais du Papes. The parking situation sucks since you need to use the underground pay parking and it is a long walk to drag suitcases over cobbled pavement. The street in front of the hotel is usually too busy to stop the car and unload unless you can do it in a hurry. I think that you will have the same parking issue with most hotels there.

Aucune arrangement si vous vous trompez de date!

Je sortais de l’hôpital pour une chute et c’était apparent blessure à la tête. Le commis à la réception condescendant m’a dit que ma réservation était pour le lendemain et voulais me faire payer une 2e journée même si je lui dis que je m’étais trompé de date en réservant sur l’application hôtel.com à la sorti de l’hôpital. Il était 2h du matin. Ils ne font aucun remboursement ou accommodation. Des voleurs. J’ai quitté et je n’ai pas annulé la réservation du lendemain vue qu’ils ne remboursent pas l’annulation. Je ne voulais pas en plus qu’ils louent ma chambre et encaisser en double. Des arnaqueurs sans compassion.

Great location about 10-15 minutes straight from the train station. And then another 10-15 minutes to over a dozen restaurants, Palais des Papes shopping. A Carrefour maybe 50 meters away, boulangerie across the street. Staff VERY helpful. If you have a car, park for Free on Ile Piot, about a 20 minute walk to the car. Recommend not having one as easy transport from train station to Orange, Salon de Provence and others.

The first room I got had mold on the fridge and an unclean shower with black dots on the floor.
After a change of room I got one wirh stains on the sheets and on the sofa and a moldy smel really persistent
Also the second day it was freezing in the room and in the morning the fire alarm started at 6 am because of a delivery so overall it was a bad experience and we got no excuse for the eary wake up call
Stay away from this old hotel even though it’s in a central location

A nice hotel at center of Avigon

The location is very good. The front desk persons are nice and ready to help. It is an old building and the layout seems weird. The hallway is dark and a lot of steps, but the light is not on so you have to find the switch on the wall. This can cause problem. Parking is also a hassle. Generally speaking, I like the hotel and will stay again next time.

Stayed two nights. A classic building downtown but not fancy, comfortable, good breakfast. Close to the restaurants in the old section. Don't eat at the tourist restaurants in the Place de l'Horloge. Only problem was the customers outside the bar on the back alley, which is narrow and echoes the noise up to the rooms. Cheap or free overnight parking at the lot along the river.

No elevator. No in room safe. Terrible breakfast. Small tv screen. Will not send put laundry but no clothes line in bath and no heated towel rack to hang clothes. Always huge orange bags with linen iin Hallways. Staff leaves large vacuum cleaners in hall. No help with bags on arrival. Was told I was on second floor but it was more like 4 flights. Room 302. Poor bath soaps etc. Towels were not replenished nor tea on days room was cleaned.

What a find a few minutes walk from the train station in the old town. Close to the popes palace, museums, churches, in the Main Street lots of shops and places to eat. Room was basic but clean with a modern bathroom and air con for the hot summer nights. Perfect location for an Avignon adventure.

Good basic hotel but needs some upgrades

The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We did not know that it would be a two story walk-up, however. The staff helped us carry the bags in and out. They made reservations for us and suggested other places to try for quick bites. There is a youth hostel next door and construction on an elevator.

The hotel was very centrally located to shopping, sightseeing and restaurants. It is a little hotel that needs a few more small corrections to be terrific. ( hooks in the bathroom for toiletry bags, grab bars in the tub because the tubs are very deep, mattresses and pillows need to be replaced.) breakfast offerings need some variety and is not included.

The staff was great but they cannot replace the need for basic upgrades.

The hotel itself is great - perfectly located between the station and Place d’Horloge. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room was small but comfortable with a lovely modern bathroom. Unfortunately the cleaner only made the beds and replenished toilet roll - they didn’t even clean the loo, and one day they left our door open. Other than that, would totally recommend the hotel for an affordable and comfortable stay

What a great hotel, right on the main Rue de la République. The rooms were spacious with modern bathrooms and ours had a tub/shower combo. No elevator so if you are on the second floor, you have a few flights of stairs to climb but they are wide so larger bags will have no problems. No onsite parking but the public lots are not too far a walk. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nice hotel close to everything

The hotel is basic, but since all I needed was a place to sleep it was perfect. Close to the train station, the Tourist Office, and all the attractions, as well as shopping and restaurants. Roman could not have been more helpful and pleasant. He recommended an excellent place for wine and was always available to assist.

Hotel Danieli was under construction during our stay. Electrical outlets were uncovered, trim was missing, walls were partially wallpapered, doors were partially painted, carpet and tiles were stacked in the hallways.

The parking discount was useless because the parking attendant was not there when we were exiting the garage, and it is a manual process, not something that can be done in the autopay machines.

But the staff was wonderfully helpful with swapping around rooms, advising on restaurants and places to run, etc.

The hotel was having a new tile floor being laid in main entrance to rooms. There was no lift to floors. My room was up and down stairs to get to the corridor the room was in then two steps up to the door with immediate five steep steps down to the room. The room smelled strongly of damp with a large damp patch on the ceiling of the bathroom, a sparce room and not comfertable at all.the hotel shares a door entrance with a hostel dirty and unkempt. I would avoid this place. It's listed in France as a 3 star establishment the assessor must have had too much vin! I'm staying currently writing this in a 2star in Arles 100% superior than Hotel Danieli

My party was there for an overnight stop over, so less than twelve hours. We specifically chose this hotel for the short walk to the central train station, 24-hour reception (many hotels in the area seem to close reception at 7:30pm), and the ability to accommodate three people in a room. Check in was quick and easy, the room was clean and seemed to have a lot of storage (we didn't unpack due to our short stay), and there was a bathroom in the room, which is nice.

The only negatives were the shower and the fire alarm going off in the morning for some reason. (We didn't even make it down the stairs before we were told to return to our rooms.) The shower just didn't have enough pressure and it you have a lot of hair on your head washing your hair would be a bit of a time commitment. I didn't report this (perhaps there was an easy fix) as it was a super-late-night discovery.

Sanjay on the front desk was extremely helpful & the location of the hotel is right in the middle of the old town.
Negatives: people smoke right outside the front door (enclosed entrance) so it's like walking through an ashtray to get in. No ventilation in the bathroom so there is a lot of roof mould.
Would rate as a 2 star. Nice modern/updated reception and stairways etc but the room not so much.
Suggestion: putting in town rails to hang up towels?
Perfectly fine place if you're just needing a bed and outta there in the morning.

The hotel was just what I and my son needed. We were bonding over a weekend just after my husband died, and had come to Avignon for a change of environment. So the hotel was a very good base for us to could wander round Avignon, do sightseeing, and have nice meals in the evening. Segway tour and boat trip recommended. The hotel was well placed for us, and we slept well.

Hotel Danieli an older well located place

Hotel Danieli is an older hotel in the historical center of Avignon. The reason to stay there is solely the location. Staff are nice and some speak English and let us place our luggage in the closet because we were early. Room was a little cramped and the patio it opened out to was not cleaned. Breakfast was so so, so I highly recommend eating breakfast down the street at the patissierie.

Hotel Daniel Review

The Hotel Daniel is close to the Avignon Train Station (not the TGV station) which was very convenient. You can walk there with luggage. It was on the main street from the Avignon Train Station. It was a clean room. Please remember that there are no lifts in this hotel which was stated when we booked. When we checked in there were no towels in our room. They were in the laundry. After we came back from touring the city, they were still not in our room. There are other hotels close to this one that I choose on my return trip back to Avignon from the Riveria.

Why does a 3-star hotel require payment in advance on check-in? Read on and you may find out. First, there is no elevator. Second, our room was dingy, the carpet stained, the bed-skirt torn and the curtains frayed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They needed to be--there were no towels in the bathroom, no soap and the shower head was coming away from the hose. The a/c worked--just as well, b/c the window opened into a tiny courtyard, with drains. We moved as soon as we could.

A comfortable hotel in the centre of Avignon. Just a short walk from the train station. There wasn't a safe in the room so we put our valuables in the general safe which wasn't great because there was no receipt or anything provided. On check out we actually managed to walk away with someone else's passport and travel documents and didn't realise until we got to our next hotel. Although, we sorted it all out, we found it a bit worrying that such a mistake could happen.

Stayed for two nights. No nice toiletries just very basic 3 in 1 shampoo, body wash, etc. big rooms for European standards. No street noise but the room next to us was loud. Very basic hotel but if that's what you are looking for then this is the place. We were there during the Avignon Festival July 2015 so that town was crazy busy. Don't go during that festival unless you are there for that reason. It makes it hard to really enjoy the walled city.

Hotel Danieli is located 5 minutes(walk) from the Avignon centre train station. There is a big grocery store (carrefour) almost right beside the hotel. The street is filled with restaurants and bakeries everywhere,very central location. The bus station is about 2 minutes away from the train station as well. Staff at Hotel Danieli are extremely courteous and polite! We extended our stay at hotel Danieli by two nights with no problem. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Avignon!

The location on the main street was close to restaurants, train station, sight-seeing and shopping. The entrance to the hotel was dingy, as were the hallways and stairs, Hallways were dimly lit, and carpets were very worn and looked unkept. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Three of us shared the room which was comfortable but there's room for improvement ie small fridge in the room to keep drinks instead of always the hotel staff to keep the drinks in the main fridge. A kettle can be provided so that you can make a hot drink instead of going out all the time. All in all we enjoyed our stay there.

Convenient location

A very basic place to sleep in the Old City. Centrally located, easy to find, a few blocks from the train station. Small rooms, but clean. No elevator, so I question it being listed as 3 stars. Less expensive than many.

Fire hazard

The Hotel is a very old building the corridor had 4 turns to get to my room and one step along the dark corridor. If a fire started I would not have made to the only set of stairs. Hallway only had light if you switched it on and light switches were on different side of the walls. You had to step in to very dark corridor each time to switch the 5 light switches on different sides of the wall.No lift so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. I was on first level but there were another 2 more.
