No Hotel Parking !

Rather tired and small rooms. Good location for city sites. Parking description is misleading as this is a multi-storey car park with a couple of unloading spaces as you drive in - anyone booking will get an email explaining this but it is certainly NOT the hotels secure car park!

Summary: Parking and check in logitics are incredibly flawed and the male at the desk was disrespectful and dismissive when this We checked in at approximately 6:30pm on Sept 21. There was no available space at the check in area and we were forced to park on the attached parking lot. There were two hotel vans parked in the spots outside the doors and several small cars were double parked in front of other vehicles. Of note, a red Fiat occupied one space of the minimal check in parking for the duration of our stay. Since the checkin parking was overly occupied (double parked) we parked where hotel access was indicated. There is no elevator. We entered a dark hallway with dirty stairs heading downward. We then went down two levels of the parking lot in open metal stairs with our rolling luggage. If you fear heights this would be very challenging. Once we arrived with our luggage at the bottom of the stairs at the arrival spot we noticed no cars had moved. We then went up a half flight of stairs with our luggage to check in. There was no ramp. When we mentioned the parking situation to the male at the desk he said that we should have used the check in area. When I told him his vehicles had blocked needed parking he said “well you came at a busy time” and walked away from me. I was clearly physically distressed from having to move luggage down three flights of industrial stairs and his lack of professionalism and respect shocked me. The property was 3*. Location=A

A nice hotel within the old city walls with adjacent parking. The carpark was almost full by midday and could be a problem during busy periods. We were too early to check in but the receptionist gave recommendations where to have lunch. The room was prepaid and as expected a credit card was required for any extras, unfortunately the bar staff refused to allow drinks to be charged to the room – the management apologised for this when it was brought to their attention. The room (319) was spotless and well equipped although one of the bedside reading lights was broken and the rain shower didn’t work.

Basic functional hotel. Stairs from entrance to check in with no door staff to help with luggage. Rooms were clean and functional. Poorly designed shower got bathroom floor wet. Great location for iconic Avignon landmarks. Simple but adequate breakfast.

The rooms are too basic. We booked rooms that were described as having a desk and there was no desk. It would have been impossible to fit in. Rooms were clean but VERY small. The air con was very noisy (couldn’t sleep with it on) so we had to just sleep with the window open and the noise that goes with that when your room over looks the restaurant area. The bar/restaurant staff were very pleasant. Some of the front of house - less so and borderline rude when we were asked on checking out if there were any issues. I said the rooms were very small and misrepresented in the description. They just said it was Expedia’s fault. Great location and the town is lovely. I would not stay again because of the issues described above but Avignon is lovely.

A good stay at a reasonable price

A good well run hotel. The location is very close to the Palace of the Popes and within the city walls.

Rooms very clean as was the rest of the hotel.

Buffet Breakfast had a bonus of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages in addition to the usual \"Continental\" breakfast items. Tea was available but you made your own teabag from the selection of teas and infusions available if that was preferred to coffee.

Centrally located hotel close to Palais des Papes.
We had a very quiet room overlooking the courtyard.
The checkin staff was great, gave us some excellent restaurant tips and things to do inside and outside of Avignon.
Parking was in a public parking which was a little pricey but 20% discount. The parking was v busy but if you park at the end of the parking where the hotel is its quite quiet and not difficult to find a place.

Weird reception lady, otherwise an okay hotel

An older building with rooms that need updating, but the proximity to the Cité is great. Biggest issue was the lady at reception who had rather off-putting behaviors. The hotel did not respond to three queries about the availability of elevators via Hotels.com messaging and email, so I called the front desk to ask by phone. The older woman was very defensive about not answering my question (\"I remember you asked me the question by email, but you haven't given me a chance to respond yet before calling\") even though there was nothing in my tone to suggest that I was displeased. I didn't even bring up that I had emailed her--she simply remembered that I had.

Fast forward to check-in day, she refused to give us two room keys (one for each of the two adults), and instead gave us a card that couldn't open the door but could still be put in the slot in the room to keep the lights on. She claimed that this would save electricity, which is entirely nonsensical, but we were tired and didn't feel like arguing.

Could not eat at the hotel restaurant one day since apparently they were fully booked. One day there was no hot water at all. Concierge not very helpfull when asked to make a reservation.

Very small room, a small bed with non comfortable mattress, towels were worn out, poor breakfast. I would expect from a 4 star hotel for more then what we got. I would not grade the hotel with more than 3 stars.

Will stay again.

Quiet, but convenient location to see sights, restaurants, walkable to train station.
There are 3 or 4 other hotels by same hotel brand but I will stay here again.

Well located hotel with helpful staff

Location was nice as it was inside the Palace walls, so you step outside and you have the palace and all dining And shopping options right there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only thing I did not like was the floor carpets. They were so dark and looked dirty. Bathrooms were clean. Rooms were ok size. Location really does it though!!

Nice hotel, centrally located near the bridge, cathedral and old town square. Situated next to the parking garage with a hotel drop off for cases prior to parking. Twin beds vs double/king was a disappointment but otherwise, the room was very nice

The receptionist, Verginerni is extremely helpful and caring when I asked for arranging a trip from Avignon to Arles, she is very efficiently and promptly. she also very responsibly helped us with heavy our luggages etc. Food, room is all good.

If driving, know how to get to the parking garage before entering Avignon. You enter from outside the city walls near the Rhône. Place of the Popes parking garage is connected to the hotel.

The bed was very hard and the room was hot. The shower was difficult to use - it was a slippery high tub. A bit dangerous.
The breakfast was outstanding. The offering as were delicious and varied.

Excellent location but not cooling system.

Perfect location to enjoy the Palais de Papes, Pont d'Avignon and all of Old Town. Nice breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable rooms if AC is not needed. Rooms are cooled with a type of evaporative cooler, which creates a constant humidity and wetness to the body and clothing.

Excellent location in centre of town

We stayed in a standard room, which pleasingly was much bigger than expected. However, whilst I had requested a walk-in shower, we were actually given a disabled access bathroom which had no enclosure or shower curtain, with the result that the whole bathroom was soaked everytime we showered. Regardless of this, we had a very enjoyable stay.
Once issue with the room was that, on our last day, the lock mechanism on the door failed once the cleaner had been in, resulting in the door being left unlocked whilst we were out sightseeing. It was only by chance that we wanted to drop back some shopping that meant we found this issue. Nonetheless, reception reacted very quickly and an engineer was on site in a few minutes meaning that we were free to continue our sightseeing whilst it was being repaired.

Convenient stay

Convenient hotel - perfectly located for easy access by car as the car park is easy to reach from the outer wall, and very central so only a few minutes walk to the heart of the action.

Comfort wise the hotel was fine, more 3* than 4* though. Basic but clean and modern. No complaint.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel within the walls of Avignon

The parking partnership the hotel has with Indigo was a major convience for parking our rental and also acting as a base to travel around the region to areas such as Pont du Gard & Chateneuf-du-Pape. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and spacious; with a few of the Cathedral and City walls.

The hotel is in an excellent location, inside the city but at one end so it is quieert. We were there during the theatre festival and the main squares were very noisy late into the night. The room's features were comfortable and looked in good condition. However, we had several maintenance issues while we were there. The electric room lock did not work when we arrived. They said maintenance would be there in 30 minutes. We came back an hour later and no one had repaired it. The maintenance man did fix it, but we had problems with our keys not working several times. The shower leaked into the bathroom and under the wall into the bedroom. The carpeting was wet all the time. They also had problems with the air conditioning and it was very hot outside. We couldn't sleep under the covers because we were too hot. It is also not handicap accessible. To enter the hotel from the garage, there are steps no elevator. We had to haul our luggage up the stairs. Although the staff were nice, when we asked for help they said no one on their staff could help us.
