Clean and good size room for excellent price. It was 1 block to beach and 15 minutes to Cartagena walled city. Staff was great and free breakfast was nicely served individually.

This has been a terrible choice of stay. We did not stay. They gave our room away! We booked it because of their hot tub in the room and they gave it away. Then they wanted us to stay in a lower rate room without the amenities or view we paid for without any compensation refund or anything! Terrible experience and terrible customer service.

I do want to say this is why i book with Expedia, they made sure we got properly accommodated at a different location with what we were looking for.

I never got a room at CABRERO MAR!!! When I got there they said they have NO ROOMS!! I have demanded a discount! I was put up at AXIO hotel in the noisiest room on the busyest intersection in TOWN! Even they said AXIO was only $75 US dollars/night!!!

Ok where do I start, no sure how this property got a high review but has to be the worst property I have ever stayed in. Was nosiy, next door neighbors kept banging at something at nights, property smells bad, not as pictured on the ad. Limited selection to menu, very difficult to communicate as the had no one on staff that speaks English. Aac barely worked, limited selection on TV and was not like I could switch to Netflix or YouTube as the TV was not smart. Internet-service was also vet sporty. I also needed to check out Ealy due to my wife giving birth and the refused to cancel my remaining reservations. Terrible day experience.

The staff were amazing. The places needs an update. Wha I didn’t like is that I had to kill two cockroaches in my room. And there was a bad smell in the bathroom shower. Beds were ok. A table in the room would have been nice to have a place to put my things down on.

The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is that our night check in guy was nice and accommodating, although he wanted to charge us 8k per person for some unspecified fee that was not detailed on our reservation. We didn’t pay last night but ended up paying this morning just to get out of there. We were over it.

Room? We paid for a King, got a Queen bed. Ants in the shower, grimy bedding, thin blankets. No soaps or literally anything extra in the bathroom. Water smelled like sulfur. Tv sort of worked. Loud noises in the street all night. Location is off the strip on a dirty, dusty side street.

I’ve stayed in $10/night hostels that were nicer. Save yourself the headache and spring for the extra $30 to stay at an actual hotel. This place is disgusting.

Low quality, poor standard and rude staff.
I will never stay at this hotel again. It was atrocious to say the least. The room was not as advertised. The air conditioning was only in the bedroom (and smelt like it hadn’t been cleaned in years), there were no towels, bedroom lamps, there was only one working blind in the main room as it was broken so gave no privacy to the street and facing apartments. There was also no WiFi or Cable tv as advertised

If this was not bad enough. I left the hotel the next morning thinking I had a booking for 2 nights and on returning that evening I was told my booking was only for 1 night and that I works have to pay a $80,000 pesos charge for late checkout. I explained that their must have been some mistake as the booking should have have been for 2 nights, but the manager ‘John’ arrogantly this was all my own fault and that is I wanted my things or wanted another night, I would have to pay for another night.

After a lengthy dispute over the fact he, or any members of staff made any attempt to contact me about the check out, the manger (John) decided to offer the room without the checkout charge for the same price as the night before. Except for the fact he started making up te prices from the top of his head as the price kept changing. He finally tried to charge me
$322,000 pesos and again arrogantly claimed this was the price I had paid for the previous night. Only after I was able to find the receipt for the payment in my bank app would

From the time we checked in everyone was so gracious! Breakfast was amazing overlooking the beach and we had Jimmy to greet us from time to time. The ladies we’re all smiles when they came and asked what we wanted from the menu . They were very informative and would definitely come back again.

Horrible scenery, basically no scenery. Window shades had to be drawn all day for privacy as curtains were not available. Too far from proper beach or other areas of interest. Room, and bed very rubbed down.

Very attentive staff. We had a late check in after a long flight. A young gentleman helped us to our room and showed us all the amenities.

Excellent Hotel!!

I usually don't write reviews but, this is well deserved. This hotel met and exceeded all our expectations!! It is located in a very nice area within a walking distance and easy access to all the major touristic places. The cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms are excellent. The breakfast is great and the service is phenomenal. Thanks to all the staff and the owner who made our stay very comfortable and made us feel in a very family like atmosphere.

Give this place a chance

Booked the hotel for convenience as it is close to the airport and in a quiet area; still we could reach all the attractions a short cab ride away (2USD ride). Excellent service. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was great.

The owner of the hotel do not care at all about the people staying at his hotel. He is rude and only cares about making money. You cannot use the jacuzzi, the room service or cafeteria service is never available, breakfast is terrible and the size of the rooms are not the best. For its price you can get way better hotels. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!

The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the staff was top-notch. The staff was super friendly and helpful for the entire stay. The breakfast was delicious and we could even eat with a view of the ocean on the top floor. We did have trouble communicating because our Spanish is poor, but the staff was patient with us and answered all our questions.

Notes - This hotel is a block from the water, but there is a ton of construction happening on the street and around. Take note that you won't have a comfortable walk to old town and such because of how hot it is there. It's certainly doable to walk to the sites (we did), but it was a bit of a hike to get into the walled city. Having said that, the taxis come quickly and they're inexpensive.

Modern botique hotel near the beach. Staff was friendly, courteous and willing to assist with any request. Short 15-minute walk to Central with many artsy restaurants and cultural stores and markets. Taxi service is right outside the hotel if you desire not to walk and is efficient and inexpensive!

Convenient location

Fair price for what you get. This hotel is not far away from the old city and the Convention Center. It is conveniently located as it takes only 5 minutes in a cab to the walled city and a few blocks away from the beach. Although it gets a bit noisy for the cars passing by early in the morning, I did not minded much as I was staying there for business, woke up early, took my breakfast and leave for meetings.
Opportunities of improvement: More variety at breakfast. Dining room at 8th floor makes it very noisy on rooms at 7th floor.
I do not think this is a nice place for vacations but it is definitely very convenient for business travelers.

I only stayed here one night as I had a long layover. Very close to the airport which is convenient. The bag boy immediately insisted I give him a tip when we got to the room which I thought was strange but everyone else on the staff was very helpful and provided recommendations on where to go for good eats.

Overall the hotel was clean and the staff were very attentive. The only issue we had was that the room was infested with ants when we awoke. Seems that they were coming in through the porch. The hotel was very apologetic and again very artentive to our needs. If not for the ants, I would have given 5 stars.

English tourists- wish I read a review like this

Location- If you are an English speaking foreigner, this hotel is not located in an ideal spot. First, you walk outside and there is nothing near you, although on a map the hotel looks like it is near the walled city. No convenient store or restaurants. This hotel is located a good 10-20 min walk outside of the walled city, but there is nothing around the hotel. It is also located in a developing area and you may not feel comfortable walking around at night.
Staff- First, they are very friendly! The owner speaks English fluently and if he is around to help you- then great! Another staff member tried to speak English, but he did not know enough to help us book a tour. If you like hotels that help you book tours, offer tours and activities- this hotel does not!
Rooms- This hotel is newly renovated and the rooms are very clean. However, the rooms are small. We did book a king size bed, but we only had a full size bed, which was a little small for two people, but doable.
If you do not mind having to take a taxi from the hotel to restaurants, attractions, or anything else you want to do and if you do not plan on going on tours- then this is a good option to save some money as hotels inside the walled city are more expensive.

Beautiful Modern Gem Just Outside of Old Town

We spent two days in Cartagena before heading home from a long trip and it was beautiful. The hotel is a short walk from the Old Town, or you can easily grab a carriage or cab most times of the day. The walk feels pretty safe. Most of the street is new apartments and condos. There are frequently people out walking their dogs at night and security officers can be seen frequently patrolling the streets on motorbikes.

The hotel itself is small and very new. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming and the rooms are very new, clean and modern. There are no real amenities such as a pool or gym. It's more a series of apartment-like rooms. But honestly, what are you doing spending that much time at the hotel anyway when you are visiting Cartegena? Go explore the city! My wife and I were very happy. It's a great value for the money.

Modern, friendly Hotel.

The Hotel is well located for access to both the beach and \"Old City\". We found the staff very helpful and provided good advice regarding travel options within Cartagena and the need to take special precautions regarding the neighbourhoods to be avoided (one quite close to the area of the Hotel). We advise using taxi services within Cartagena.
The Hotel provided an excellent breakfast and was comfortable and well priced for the facilities provided.

This hotel is in the up and coming area of El Cabrero. A $3 cab ride to Puerta de Reloj, $3.50 to Bocagrande and $3.50 to the airport. Quite area with clean rooms and great staff. The owner lives on site and takes very good care of the place and the guests. Highly recommend. A fantastic place at a great rate for Cartagena.

Only 3 month old! Compared to rest of places inside old town this is very clean and no mold, great A/C and wifi. If youre looking for very low price and clean, this is it. Only 3-5 mins in taxi (very cheap $3 dollars equivalent) to anywhere. To airport its 5 mins and $4 dollars (equivalent). Just dont expect luxury. If want luxury then need pay 3 to 4 times more. Dont leave money or valuables though anywhere... its the norm... even in luxury hotels where ive gotten stuff stolen. Money saved up in hotel... we used to lunch and dine in top 5 restaurants in city. Amazing idea that was!!!! Enjoy.

Lo único bonito la vista de la habitación pero me tocó pagar un excedente por ella el cual nunca me
Lo dijeron nos tuvieron que cambiar de habitación porque el baño se taqueo baños viejos de cuando yo tenia 10 años, de verdad la ubicación del hotel es maravillosa su vista excelente pero las habitaciones demasiado estrechas y la mayoría sin remodelar calificación de este hotel de 1 a 10 por mi sería un 3 mucho que mejorar

O Hotel é bom. Dá pra ir à pé até o centro, com segurança, inclusive à noite.
O café da manhã, rozoável. Mas como estava em dieta, tinha fruta, café, e sempre faziam um omelete maravilhoso.
A responsável pela cozinha da noite, a Milene, com um atendimento impecável, uma queridona. E o recepcionista da noite, um verdadeiro cavaleiro. O sentimento que tive, é de um carinho e cuidado especial com os hóspedes.
Os quartos, a limpeza é impecável, mas falta espaço para pendurar toalhas, roupas.
O bairro não é bom.

QUE ME ESTAFARAN , me cobraron 276 000 pesos más, hice una reserva por US$ 53.00 y me cobraron US$ 75.00 Cuano reclamé el dueño del hotel \" eso fuén lo que me djio\" fue agresivo conmigo , casi me empuja, jamás resolvieron el reclamo

la comida horrible .... solo les interesa el dinero, no dan información adecuada de los tours, pésimo servicio, no lo recomiendo

O Hotel é muito bom. O rapaz da recepção, Bryan, muito atencioso e gente boa. Café da manhã tb muito bom, as meninas da cozinha te preparam um ovo mexido ou um omelete na hora, tb bastante atenciosas. O hotel não me parece ser mt novo, mas está bem conservado e limpeza foi bem boa. Estou bastante satisfeita pois reservei de última hora, sem muito tempo pra pesquisar e foi uma surpresa bastante agradável. Ele é relativamente perto da cidade amuralhada, fomos andando um dia, mas é uma caminhada bem longa, de uns 20, 30 minutos, mas pela orla de Marbella que me pareceu bastante segura. Porém, preferimos andar de Taxi mesmo, que custava em torno de 7 mil pesos colombianos pra quase qualquer lugar da cidade, então, valia mais a pena. No geral, custo benefício desse hotel é mt bom.

3 adultos e 1 só cama!

Reservei um quarto para 3 adultos. A oferta, mostrava 1 cama king e 2 de solteiro. Ou seja, entremos que teriam 3 camas.
Porém, quando chegamos, o quarto só tinha 1 cama king. O gerente do Hotel disse que fizemos a opção errada no momento da reserva e que teríamos que pagar 70.000 COP a mais por cada diária se quiséssemos ficar em um quarto com mais uma cama pelo menos. Porém, não foi um erro de preenchimento nosso, pois na tela da oferta não fica claro que devemos escolher entre 1 cama king OU 2 camas de solteiro. E, de qualquer forma, nenhuma dessas alternativas acomoda 3 adultos no mesmo quarto. A oferta obriga o consumidor a comprar algo que não atende a sua necessidade. Por favor, insiram uma opção coerente com a quantidade de adultos que ficarão hospedados no mesmo quarto.

Hotel relativamente nuevo con habitaciones cómodas. El único inconveniente fue que el aire acondicionado a veces chorreaba agua, pero abríamos la puerta del balcón y con eso bastaba para no sufrir el calor (en invierno). Comentamos el problema en recepción y no tuvimos respuesta mas que un llamado telefónico (luego de dos días) preguntando si seguíamos teniendo el mismo problema. Dejando de lado esto, la atención tanto de los empleados, como el encargado, fue siempre muy cálida y servicial.
El desayuno no es muy variado, pero lo que hay es riquísimo todo.
