Should get a refresh rooms are not well maintained. Facilities not great I had an issue in the bathroom. Used to be better. But interior garden for drink, tea, breakfast is unbeatable. Small birds everywhere.
It used to be a convent it’s an incredible Spanish architecture.

Nous avons séjourné deux nuits au Sofitel Legend et avons été agréablement surpris par la qualité de l’établissement. Jusqu’à ce séjour, nous n’avions jamais été pleinement satisfaits dans les hôtels Sofitel.

Nous occupions une suite junior dans l’aile coloniale (historique). Compte tenu des contraintes inhérentes à la rénovation d’un bâtiment ancien, la chambre était très satisfaisante : la climatisation était parfaitement efficace pour contrer la chaleur extérieure, le matelas (grâce à son surmatelas) offrait un excellent confort, la suite avait une bonne dimension et l’emplacement de l’établissement est parfait pour visiter la ville.

À noter toutefois : les chambres donnant sur l’entrée peuvent être bruyantes en soirée, en raison du petit parc situé en face de l’hôtel (la musique s’arrête vers 23 h).

Les chaises longues autour de la piscine sont prises rapidement, mais le personnel aide activement les clients à trouver une place, de manière proactive.

Le petit-déjeuner buffet est délicieux et particulièrement copieux.

Enfin, le service d’Edouardo T., au restaurant, a été irréprochable : avenant, discret et attentif. Son professionnalisme mérite d’être souligné.

What an exceptional blend when history meets present time! The frame of the facility takes you to the 1600. The rooms offer you modern comfort. Breakfast in the garden with the birds chirping and singing felt like royalty. The choice of food is healthy and varies. It is at the center of town. You can walk to the most attractive locations and famous restaurants. The staff is great. I would like to give a special shot out to Juliet’s, one of the waitresses. She embodies the meaning of great service and class. This was truly a 5 star experience. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending that hotel to a traveler. I was celebrating a birthday earlier this month

The Sofitel is a really good hotel within the Walled City. The staff are excellent; I cant recall everyone’s name (and I really wish that I could) but Miguel our butler was top notch. Everyone greets you with a smile and are ready to assist.

We were upgraded to a high floor with nice room and great view. There was a slight mixup with the room but we were assisted every step of the way and provided with a free lunch while they rectified the situation and placed our luggage inside of the room.

The breakfast at El jardin was good with some delicious coffee.

Only two cons; one is after some time you can smell the sewage in the bathroom and the shower sprays water all over the bathroom floor.

The Sofitel is within walking distance of everything and you’ll want to stay here if you desire peace and quiet especially after midnight.

The staff was very warm, welcoming and professional. The room and facilities are very nice, but we had a few issues with plumbing fixture in the bathroom and water pressure. Other than those issues, everything was excellent. Rooms were maintained well during visit. The hotel restaurants (Jardin and 1612) and bar onsite were excellent. Great stay overall and I do recommend.

The facilities are nice and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable, but for the price—twice that of similar hotels—they are basic. We were disappointed with the VIP service for Hotels.com, as we were assigned one of only three or four rooms in the entire hotel without a balcony.

I would recommend this hotel over and over again. It was my first time in Cartagena and at this hotel, we had an amazing stay. The location was unbelievable. We felt very safe at all time. The hotel itself was remarkable. I’ve traveled a lot in my time and I have to say this is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to.. it was exactly what I was looking for. The staff was amazing, very welcoming and professional. Our rooms were beautiful!! I love that you could be out in the city walking around and come back to your sanctuary of a stunning, relaxing hotel! The restaurants at the hotel were outstanding!!!!!

The service and attention to detail by the staff was impeccable. My hats off to all of the employees of the hotel, they are awesome! It’s in a great location in the walled city that allows easy access, within a 10 minute walk, to all of the nightlife that Cartagena has to offer (we walked to and from the various bars and nightlife every night and felt very safe). There are hotel staff manning the entrance to the hotel at all hours. The hotel is also literally surrounded by local restaurants. Great pool, with a great pool bar. Great hotel restaurant! Huge shout out to the hotel bartenders! We had a group of 20 and they were awesome and didn’t miss a beat! I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the walled city. The room prices are premium, but for good reason.

They really take care of you at this hotel from hot towels and a welcome beverage to an easy ride to the airport. The staff are all incredibly kind and helpful and most of them bilingual. I bit downside is that when you opened the balcony doors the floor would get really humid and slipery so this is dangerous.

Decent size rooms with good size balcony, bathrooms in need of updating, low water pressure in shower, no cold water in the sink.
Most staff are attentive & polite with the exception of Ingrid at breakfast - who could improve her attitude when customers order items not included in the standard breakfast. Otherwise, good overall experience.

The overall service is good, but the price/what you get relationship is not worth it. The hotel price tag is for 5 star luxury hotel… in this case the towels, amenities are not of one. The service is good but many of the employees said they weren’t paid extra hours so if the bar closes at 12 they stop service at 11. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a convenient place, walkable from any point of the walled city. The offer at the pool is very limited (not good). For being a Sofitel and a luxury hotel, lacks the magic of being at a good hotel. I think the savings they are implementing are not worth it.

Best hotel in Cartagena! Right in the heart of the walled city . Walking distance to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and markets. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Pool area was very nice. The restaurants were also very good. Breakfast buffet served traditional Colombian food along with variety of meats, eggs and pastries. Lunch and dinner also had good options. The drinks were good. Attended a wedding there which was a great venue and time for all of the guests. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend!

We loved everything about our stay here! The service was fantastic. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The food and cocktails were all fantastic. The building and grounds were absolutely stunning, and the rooms were well appointed with amenities... robes, slippers, mini bar, nice turn down service, good products, safe, nice closet space, and so on. We had a massage and facial in the spa, and those were all excellent as well. The spa has a steam room and is very nice; the service is excellent. It does not have a ton of amenities (hot tub, sauna, etc). Even the pool chaises were gorgeous. The butler was very responsive. We looked at the other nice hotels while there... this was by far the prettiest one and best located. It is not directly in the middle of shopping, etc, but it is close to everything. The top restaurants were an easy walk. Having Uber sevice was huge too, though we only needed it a few times this was so close to everything. Honestly perfect on every metric, we hope to be back! Even the breakfast buffet and service were lovely and decadent.

We stayed at the Sofitel for 7 nights in June. The staff and butler team was very attentive to our needs and helped plan activities as well as offered general advice. The location is great within walking distance of everything but on the edge of the old city so at night it was pretty quiet so sleeping was a dream. We often staff is small boutique hotels but we need a big pool given the heat. The pool at the Santa Clara is wonderful, great for the days when you want a resort experience of laying by the pool in your cabana with drinks/good readily available. The sunset view from the terrace bar means you can take in all in without fighting the crowds any night you choose.

I plan to come back and will recommend it to friends.
