Hotel Casa La Fe is ideally located on Plaza Fernandez de Madrid in the heart of the city, offering a calm and relaxed atmosphere but with the convenience of the town's antiquities, restaurants and entertainments on the doorstep. The building dates from the Republican era and was restored to its former elegance in 2005 with further updating in 2016.

We have fourteen en-suite bedrooms, some with private balconies and others accommodating family groups. We offer a varied breakfast cuisine and guest facilities include a rooftop plunge pool, drinks and food bar and mirador with panoramic views, breeze and shade.

Staff aims to please! Room was top notch, breakfast was over the top. Most of all is the location, Centro Cartagena, inside the UNESCO Heritage walled city. The hotel is across from a spacious park and surrounded by restaurants. Steps away, next to the park, is a Cartagena street-food specialty, arepa de huevo. Don’t miss the chance to stay at this wonderful boutique hotel!

Hotel Casa La Fe is incredible. The room was clean, comfortable and very well organized. The staff is incredible. It started with the hotel reaching out to me a day before my arrival asking how they can help - expected arrival time, activities that I was interested in, and any other help needed. We arrived early and they stored our luggage and sent a text when the room was ready hours before the normal check-in time.

Perfect stay in old Cartagena

What a special hotel. Our loft room with balcony was comfortable and super-cute. The daily breakfast was great. The rooftop terrace, bar, and tiny pool was a great way to end the day. The staff helped us find a driver to take us on an excursion to Baru. All around A++.

Great place in the center of the old town

The hotel is beautifully restored to maintain the look of its original construction. The room we booked was a mix of modern and classic designed. The staff is amazing and helped us get to know the city with amazing service throughout our stay.

Great location opposite a square. Don't worry about any potential noise as the windows are double glassed ( we stated in the front suites with balconies).

Limited hot water..had to keep tap running for many minutes sometimes to get hot water
Internet wifi was patchy.
Towels we left on the floor to be replaced were simply rehung and not swapped out

The staff were wonderful, even booking dinner reservations for us. When I fell ill our maid brought me tea and checked on me. The breakfast was extensive and good. When we went on an early tour, they ensured we had a breakfast to take with us. The only thing that is a bit of a problem is the lack of elevator. It can be a long climb to the top floor.

We absolutely loved our stay here, the staff was extremely kind and Dennis at the front desk helped us so much with finding the right tours and tips on where to go. I wanted to surprise my wife with a bouquet of lilies and a bit of romance and they had the room set up with an absolutely gorgeous bouquet, champagne and fancy chocolates.

I definitely recommend spending the little bit extra to get a room with a balcony, it truly completed our experience to perfection. After spending a day walking around or coming back from a tour it's the perfect way to end the night and watch as the city buzzes around you.

Great hotel in a great location

If you want to stay in the old town this location can’t be beat! The hotel is very cute - the front desk staff are very helpful, the rooms are small but cute and comfy, the rooftop is small but also nice (and we got great dinner recommendations from the bar tender!). The complimentary breakfast is delicious and seemed to really be an authentic local menu for the most part.

The only thing we didn’t love was our room specifically only had a big window that looked out onto the hallway outside so we didn’t feel comfortable keeping our curtain open for natural light

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Casa La Fe in Cartagena, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the charm and warmth of this boutique hotel. The location is absolutely perfect—just steps away from the vibrant streets of the old town, you can walk anywhere at anytime of day or night!

A special thanks to **Dennis** for his incredible service. He made sure the checking in was smooth and messaged us a week before to discuss our arrival. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and provided great recommendations for local attractions.

I also want to thank Vladimir and the kitchen staff who were so welcoming and made us feel right at home.

The breakfast each morning was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and diverse.

If you're planning a trip to Cartagena for 2/3 days, Hotel Casa La Fe is the perfect place to stay. It combines perfect location, outstanding hospitality, and exceptional service. I can’t wait to return!

Really beautiful hotel.

This hotel was almost a perfect stay. The service was impeccable! Shout out to all the housekeepers and the breakfast servers, specifically Dina. They were all super sweet, but she made it special for us whenever we ate breakfast and she answered all our questions. The only issue of this stay was the pool bar unexpectedly closing early on Sunday. It was about 7 when we went and the signs posted said closing was at 9. Other than that, the hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious (their daily juices are to die for omg), and all the staff was fantastic.

They helped us making reservations, kept our luggage for an extra day so that we didn’t have to carry it to the islands, they did our laundry for a very fair price. It was over the top amazing! William made the trip before during and after very easy and helpful! He had a birthday cake for us day 1 when we returned. Aris our hotel bartender was the best. He made sure we had extra ice, went and got us Sushi for lunch and made us reservations to the best restaurants that were sold out! The breakfast was fresh and delicious. We were greeted day and night with smiles and never needed for anything. It was in the best location close to every excursion we booked and close to all our favorite places! Go!

Very clean, comfortable stay. The breakfasts are good, the people who work in reception are very helpful in many ways, we had laundry done and it was reasonably priced. We enjoyed the small rooftop pool at the end of the day and generally had a cocktail at the rooftop bar served by a nice bartender.

Great boutique hotel smack in the city center

This place is gorgeous and the staff super friendly and helpful.
The breakfast in the patio is perfect.
Our room was perfect, with a nice balcony overlooking the square where a lit of activity happens and which has great trees with loads of birds.
We also had a visiting little monkey on our balcony.
The accomodation is super clear and very nicely decorated.
One of the most beautiful places I've visited!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our first time in Cartagena (and Colombia in general) and were pleased overall by the property, staff, facilities and location. The hotel itself is beautiful, especially the courtyard and architecture and the rooftop pool area is awesome. The only thing that wasn’t super fabulous was the room itself, as the only window is a narrow strip adjacent to the door leading to the inner courtyard. The other window in the room simply looked into a small piece of the inner structure of the building (not a window). So the room was okay but spacious enough and great shower pressure. The cleaning staff was great. The breakfast options were decent and the fruit platter at the beginning was my favourite part. The staff was so friendly and organized a day trip for us. The location was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Casa La Fe is a wonderful place to stay in Cartagena. The location is excellent, the staff friendly and attentive, and the roof top pool is great. The included breakfast has several options to choose from and is well made. The standard double is simple, but clean, and very quiet. If you go for the balcony, there is a lovely view of the street and park across, but would be noisy.

Absolutely LOVED this hotel! Perfect location, excellent service. Rooftop bar and pool are a delightful escape from the heat. The sweetest bartender serving delicious, icy cocktails. The included breakfast was served in the lush courtyard by smiling, attentive staff. Plenty of options and fresh juice daily. We stayed in the family room which was perfect for a girls' trip of three. We had a balcony overlooking the lush park, and a monkey came by on our last day! Transportation and covid testing easily arranged by the front desk. Highly recommend.

Fue una semana maravillosa en Hotel Casa La Fe. La atencion incomparable, la limpieza es nitida, los cuartos muy comodos y el aire acondicionado es bien rico. Nos encanto el desayuno donde tienes varias opciones y todas las referencias que nos dieron en el \"front desk\" fueron perfectas acerca de tours y restaurantes. Ari el muchacho que trabaja de bartender en la piscina es super agradable y tiene facilidad para atender al cliente con mucho gusto. Lo mismo se puede decir acerca de todos los empleados de este sitio. Lo recomiendo muchisimo y situado muy centrico. Mi proxima visita a Cartagena me quedare en este Hotel de eso estoy muy seguro.

WARNING My passport disappeared at this hotel. My passport was scanned when checking in and returned to me. My son and I were then shown to our room by the Bellman. He showed us into the room and gave us a short room orientation. Then, within 2 minutes of the Bellman leaving the room we noticed my passport was missing. We searched the room, which was easy as it was basic and clean, the passport was nowhere to be found. We informed the hotel, the receptionist came and we re-searched the room.

I went to the lobby and asked for the manager, who I never got to see (we only messaged). While there I made calls to find out my next steps. I could not get privacy to call as the Bellman followed me while I was calling.

I asked to see the CCTV of my check-in and walk to the room. These were made available, they showed the passport being returned to me, it goes into my pocket and then an unhindered short walk to the room. We all agreed that the passport was in my possession when the 3 of us entered the room. A few minutes later it had gone.

I`m a careful traveler. This passport has travelled to 5 continents with me. But I wasn`t aware of how devastating not having a passport is. Besides having to visit a Consulate, get photos taken, go through an extensive emergency travel document application. We had to cancel 2 flights and 3 tours.

The 2 minutes when the passport disappeared ruined the trip for us. We had to stay in Cartagena longer than planned & we on moved to another hotel.

Hotel Casa La Fe has a great location, just across the street from a lovely park - Plaza Fernandez de Madrid - and right next door to a very nice (though pricey) chocolate shop. There are good restaurants in the surrounding blocks and an ice cream shop across the street. An historic church - Iglesia de Santo Toribio - is half a block away. The hotel staff was very nice and was prompt with a 3:15 a.m. wake-up call on the morning of my early-morning Copa flight home. The courtyard is charming with an attractive garden. My only concern was that there is noise at night because of a nearby rooftop bar. This is something you must be mindful of.

Fab little Boutique hotel!

Fantastic little Boutique Hotel located in a perfect spot on a lovely little square full of interesting night life and great bars and restaurants. The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and there was always someone at the front desk that could speak English and help us with any needs. The Family room was perfect for our 5 day stay, it overlooked the square and the split level room was was like having a mini apartment. In room fridge was a bonus sadly no kettle to make tea and coffee in room but there was always a daily juice and tea coffee available all day at the breakfast courtyard. Lovely views and a great but small plunge pool on the roof. This was welcomed as the was icy AC in room as it is super hot in Cartagena! Wifi was also good and we had access all over the hotel including the roof. Overall we found this to be a great little hotel for the money and they made us feel very welcome!

Great Rooftop Pool!

We loved our stay at Casa La Fe! The hotel was in a great location within the walled city, and felt very safe. We loved the courtyard, and the pool/bar! It was perfect to head up to the roof for a swim when the afternoon was really hot. The staff was great, and super helpful... they arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport, and confirmed a dinner reservation for us. They even upgraded our room after hearing that it was our honeymoon! we would definitely recommend!

Great hotel spoilt by neighbouring establishments.

Lovely hotel with great location. Decent breakfast and great staff. BUT unfortunately it’s opposite a hotel with selfish management who have a night club on their roof terrace until 1am every night which makes a stay at Casa la Fe sleepless if you are on the top floor (direct line of speakers which sound like you are actually in a night club). Shame to leave bad reviews for this hotel because of the actions of another hotel, but people need to be aware that you will not get a restful nights sleep here if you are on the top floor.

This was my first time in Cartagena and Hotel Casa la Fe was a wonderful place to stay at a great price. It's in a great area and within a 10 minute walk of anything you would want to see (the walled city is so small that you can walk from wall to wall in 15 minutes). I am a foodie and some of the best restaurants are in the area.

The Hotel is a stunning historical home with a beautiful Spanish vibe. The room we stayed in was small but an appropriate size. The air conditioning worked well and there was always hot water in the shower

There is a free full service breakfast every morning with some local specials, fruit, eggs, and sausage.

The roof top is amazing. There is a small pool, which is absolutely necessary to escape the Cartagena heat in the middle of the day and a bar with great cocktails open all day long.

The staff is so helpful and kind. The concierges speak english and helped us arrange taxis and excursions during our stay. It's best to organize excursions through them because they only recommend the best.

The only con of this hotel is the loud music that plays from the club/restaurant next door. However, I believe this is a problem across Cartagena because it's a party city. The noise never prevented me from sleeping and it never woke me up. I go to bed early so I am not sure what time the noise stopped but I don't think it was very late.

Checkout is at noon--very convenient!

Bottom line: if you're on a budget, stay at Hotel Casa la Fe.

Cute, accommodating hotel in great area

Second time here (first time was 8 years ago). Friendly staff that has the ability to check in 24 hours/day, which was helpful when my plane was delayed by over an hour and I arrived after midnight. Great location right by San Diego and other parts of the old city. Pool on the roof (and AC in the rooms) is needed given the heat and it's nice to have a bar serving drinks there in the afternoon/night. Breakfast is also more substantial than others that I've had in Colombia with the ability to have eggs with multiple additions. Samuel at the front desk was incredibly responsive and helpful (and spoke good english). Would defintely stay here if I come back to Cartagena. Only things to keep in mind are that the hotel is open-air so it can get a little noisy at night especially if you have the rooms facing the street, particularly on weekends. I had a room facing the street on a Thursday night and the music from the street died down at a reasonable hour. I changed to an interior room thereafter and it was fine as the noise from the AC drowned out the music.

Lovely spot in a great location!

Highly recommend staying at Casa la Fey for your Cartagena trip! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is perfect -- walkable to all the sights in the historic district, including the old fortress in Getsemaní. The rooftop with pool and bar provides a great way to relax after a day of exploring the city. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the included breakfast is delicious (fresh fruit and freshly made eggs available).

The ad in Hotel.com would lead one to believe this was a fairly luxurious hotel especially at $190 per day. It was a typical boutique hotel for the area and viewed from that perspective it was quite nice. Room was small, window was small with no view. Pool is small. Pool and bar are open from 10 am to 9 pm. Nice view but I interpreted the pool/bar as being more of a gathering place.With the right expectations it is fine. Mine were too high so I was disappointed. Key staff speak reasonable English and were very helpful.

Amazing Staff - Really Impressed with the Service

I don't normally write reviews, but I wanted to give a thumb's up to Casa La Fe. My husband was sick the day we left, and the staff allowed us to stay in the room until 4 pm, until we had to leave for the airport, so that he could rest. I thought that was very kind. Generally, the staff was really kind and friendly.
The hotel was nice, but Cartagena is much more expensive than other cities in Colombia so for the price it didn't seem as nice as the hotels in Bogota and Medellin. But to go up a notch in Cartagena, you need to pay double. Casa La Fe is a nice balance as a more economical option (but not cheap) while being a very decent and charming place to stay. But the staff is what really made it special.

Great location

Great location! Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Pool is small but does the job. Don't order mixed drinks at the terrace bar -- relatively cheap but not good. We were leaving early in the AM for a flight. The staff at the front desk said they would make us breakfast to take with us, which was lovely of them since we were leaving at 5am. But there was no breakfast to be seen in the morning and only a night staff who could not communicate in English. We could not make ourselves understood about the breakfast we were promised and he sounded like he had no idea what we were talking about.

Think twice about booking

In Cartagena where there are many fine hotels, casa la Fe is just ok and it's expensive for what you get. We booked a superior room which cost more. It was up a dirty dingy private stair case and overlooked noisy Plaza Madrid. We asked to be moved and we're given a standard room, without a window except into the public courtyard. This room was largely unadorned, with limited comforts, and somewhat claustrophobic. We had checked in late and were woke up early by noise from the hotel as the room opens onto the courtyard. We were especially put out as the hotel would not refund the difference between the superior and standard room. We asked to be let out of the second night we reserved and, again, the hotel refused. Frankly, they had us over a barrel and took advantage. For what they charge, despite the other good reviews, this is at best a modest three star hotel and you'll be more comfortably housed elsewhere.

Highly Recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights, and our experience with this hotel was excellent. The room is small but comfortable with a great location in the middle of the Old City. The balcony had a beautiful view, and we didn't have a problem with outside plaza noise with the windows closed and air-conditioner on. We really enjoyed the made-to-order breakfasts in the morning, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. One of our favorite parts of the day was an afternoon siesta and drink by the pool. I would return to this hotel anytime!

Great location and staff!

Absolutely wonderful stay! The staff was excellent. The food was great for breakfast.A plate of different fresh fruits everyday, plus other items made to order. Loved the cute restaurant/bar on the rooftop (small pool, very cozy/casual rooftop with fantastic views of the city.). The bed is very firm (maybe a bit too much for some) the room is a good size with plenty of space. We didn't watch TV but they did provide cable and a nice TV. The location can't be beat!
