The Hotel is in a great location in the centre of Cartagena old town. Room was cleaned daily and had a good sized fridge, however the room safe was tiny. From our point of view breakfast started too late (from 0730) as we had excursions organised with early pick ups. This meant that we could not have breakfast in the Hotel throughout our stay despite it being included in our room rate.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful. Location is perfect and close to the clock tower. Only guests registered to the room can enter the premises. Bringing any additional guest inside requires you to pay a $27.00 usd fee per guest. We had no complaints or issues with our room. The plunge pool was also a very nice touch. We will stay here again.

In my opinion, the best thing about this hotel is it’s location. It’s right in the walled city. Everything within the Wall city is in walking distance. It’s a 5 to 10 minute walk to the heart of Getsemaní. In five minutes you’re in front of him Clocktower and ready to go anywhere outside the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped arrange a trip to Baru, and made some good recommendations for dinner. There is a swimming pool inside that I did not use, but it looked good. breakfast every day was great with freshly cooked, scrambled eggs, fruit, and good coffee.
That said it is in the heart of the wall city, and fortunately we were able to change our room from the street side to the backside because there’s a lot of noise from the disco across the street.

The VIP access credit was absurd. It is discount on food & beverage, but they have stopped selling food even though in the rooms there still is a menu. When I wanted to order a lasagna they said they were no longer providing that service. It was 8 pm.
Hotel is nice, but rooms are way too simple.
One evening there was only cold water.
Quite some music noise in the neighborhood, but not the hotel‘a fault.
All in all overpriced.

Stayed 4 nights on 4th floor elevator was not working- always front desk was giving wrong message to all customers that will be fixed in 1 hour. When asked repeatedly mentioned its power problems. Also had to ask several times for fresh towels and toiletries.
Very bad management, employees are simply following instructed by management.
It’s convenient in wall city, suggest you look for another hotel.

Good location in old town area - no need for car, plenty of shopping and restaurants and sights within easy walking distance. Attractive inner courtyard visible from all 5 floors, rooftop breakfast/bar/restaurant, with free breakfast every morning. Front desk staff keep things safe despite the \"nightlife\", and were very helpful in general. Hotel is a good value for the money. Not a spectacular hotel, on the old side, but our family had no complaints and I would stay here again.

Its always a pleasure to stay at this hotel , the unique experience of living in a tropical place in the middle of the city is priceless.

If you are used to hard mattress, don pedro will train you well. Other than that breakfast is very authentic and delicious.

LOCATION OUTSTANDING! You are in the center and greatest street of Cartagena’s walled city with shops & eateries and great street life. Enjoyable walk through park to Getsemani. Recommend 5th floor Room 507 which has windows. Many rooms are very small, dark and with no privacy. Indoor Pool is poorly located and cold. Front desk staff are kind and helpful.

Solid bang for the buck

Staff was very kind and helpful. Place looks great but has a musty odor. Walls are paper thin, staff was super kind to find me a new room to get me away from a screeching child. Place looks beautiful but could use better sound proofing. Breakfast was nothing special but did the trick. Solid bang for the buck in the middle of everything.

Great location of a historical hotel

I spent there 3 nights with my friends during a trip to Colombia. I enjoyed my room. Everything worked well, bed was comfortable, I had a safe and working AC. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Salvator, oscar, Leila and Deyber. Location of the hotel let me enjoy the city walks and reach port for excursions by foot. Airport drive was very short, about 10 minutes.

The staff were amazing. The property is a vintage building so do not have any high expectations when it comes to hot water or updates appliances. The sink faucets were rusty and had tons of building. It was an awful experience. We just wanted to leave as soon as we got our room. The noisy was so loud, be prepared to fall asleep by 4am (thats the time everything closes).

Nice hotel right in the middle of the Walled City or Ciudad Antigua. Very small pool but nice; good water temp and just right for a little escape from the heat. Air conditioning in the rooms is very strong as is the shower with hot water if you want it. (I preferred a cold shower from the heat in Cartagena!). Bed is comfortable and sheets nice. It’s not a 5 star hotel but suited my needs just fine. Rustic and not modern but quaint. The front staff was very nice with at least 2 people who speak English. Breakfasts are hearty and good. Recommend if you want to be in the Walled City which I suggest if you like touristy places.

A central location with some very amenable staff, a great breakfast, and generally fine place.

As others have noticed, the vicinity to a nightclub that doesn’t close until 3AM can lead to some issues, and the AC may or may not work.

I think I also saw some people complaining about the patchy WiFi and television, and while there’s maybe a little room for improvement, you’re also staying in Cartagena, and maybe if those things are that important to you, you should consider spending more money on a chain hotel.

It’s worn down, nasty and has awful service

A terrible experience. Since arrival at 11am, I was told I wouldn’t be given my room until 4pm (way past a regular check in time). Three other parties arrived later than I did and were checked in. I know because I travelled with them. The service was aloof and no one knew what they were doing. I asked for a bathroom to change since I wouldn’t be able to check in and had a wedding lunch and they were hesitant to help me with one. They had no ironing services, but were nice enough to charge me $10 for ironing a pant and shirt (honestly given I wouldn’t be able to iron it myself I was OK with this). The room smelled like fresh paint thinner and smoke. The towels and pillows had such a strong cigarette smell. The windows had curtains poorly place and left the room and bathroom exposed to anytime passing outside 24/7 and had no fix. The shower was under a structure from the building and was hard to shower when it’s on your face (I’m 5,7, not tall at all). The towels seemed very used. The fridge stopped working and melted and I called twice for them to fix it, and no one ever came. I spent my entire stay dealing with wet towels on the floors and slipping and falling. No one knew where I could grab a bite or coffee. It seemed to be ran by school children. Outside, it’s ugly and the street it’s on is loud and seemingly unsafe. It was an overall annoying and nasty experience. I would never recommend anyone staying here

No natural light in the room, I did ask for a room at the back so I guess it was my fault as I didn’t want it to be noisy. But it was like being in a cave to be honest, I know we should have asked to move but I’d been feeling ill and just wanted to get in bed.

Really small bathroom, I suppose I’m just not used to these type of hotels, but I’m surprised no one mentioned it.

Great location, very clean, great customer service, and the family-operated boutique property had all of the old city charm we wanted for our three-night couple getaway. We knew to opt for an interior room for \"noise control\" of the street and adjacent bar with loud music. Our room was well-appointed but small because we booked last minute and could have had a larger one with an earlier booking. But everything we needed was there. Breakfast buffet was a great value at about $8 per person. Not the high-end hotel buffet, but it was well rounded and really got our day going. We could walk to all of the sites and were surrounded by unending shops, restaurants, street vendors and history. It was fun to explore all of the many rooftop bars. Many restaurants had live music, and everywhere you walked at night you would come across live music and dance performances in the street. We felt safe everywhere we went. We loved it!

This hotel sucks, for the price. Pay a little more and stay at a better hotel nearby. I’m surprised with all the hotels in the area that this hotel doesn’t maintain their rooms. Save yourself the headache and don’t stay here. Below is a list of all the issues:

Dead Cockroach in the bathroom
Wifi doesn’t work most of the time.
Bathroom fixtures were broken
Shower head poured water with no pressure
Noisy until 4am: ppl screaming, cars honking, loud bass music.
Room smelled like a flooded basement and mold.
