Hotel was cute, clean, very well located. Checkin was fast and friendly. Accessing underground parkade was challenging due to one way streets, bad timing with Carnaval closing streets, and guy very distracted with phone, directed our big suv to a half end spot suitable only for motorbikes or Smart car at most...took a full 5 minutes to back out, turn around, up ramp to the wide open upper level. Worst was the room which was cute but smelled of STRONG chlorine gas ALL day and night. Room was right beneath rooftop swimming pool, running water sound all night in bedroom not bathroom. I was woken at 5am (unusual) couldn't fall asleep again until I opened patio door to let gas out in spite of potential cold (5-10C all week around 5am). By then restaurant below started talking, rearranging furniture, birds loud. We didn't even fall asleep until carnaval performance across street ended around 1:30am. I would go back but definitely another room. Expedia did not elaborate why that \"balcony room\" was on deep discount. That would never pass health inspection in US or Can, but anything goes in Mex, beware.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it. Room was large enough for the two of us, decent washroom, clean linens everyday and a nice little balcony. The breakfast included was a lot better than what I was expecting, it’s a full menu of local options as well omelettes, etc.

Also, the staff were very friendly, courteous, and always willing to provide great recommendations for beaches, cenotes, activities, etc., and the cheapest/best way to get there from the hotel.
10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

Amazing, friendly, always smiling staff and a charming property in the centre of town but with a peaceful, shaded, plant-filled garden and three pools. Room was well furnished if a little rough around the edges in finish, but given the price this is not a complaint at all (it did however have A/C and a fridge). The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. A lovely relaxing stay and far better than being on 5th Avenue

The Hotel itself is very unassuming, but inside, is BEAUTIFULL! warm, inviting, friendly, private secure underground parking, and the staff were amazing. We had a small issue with our air conditioner and they switched or room without question apologised profusely for the inconvenience and even gave us a wonderful bottle of wine. overall I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for a great price and SUPER conveniently located right next to the town square with all kinds of food vendors and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach with access to some of the best restaurants Mexico has to offer!

The staff are friendly and always go out of their way to assist guests. The location of the hotel of the hotel is minutes from 5th ave, Walmart, Ado bus station. The rooms are clean, air conditioning works well and the balcony for the pool facing rooms are large and comfortable. Beautiful foliage around the two ground level pools. Roof pool has a nice view of playa.

All of the staff are fantastic, very calm, friendly and professional. They have a great balance of being at your service when needed as well as giving you space to enjoy and explore on your own. While the space was smaller and older than expected from the photos, it was clean, quaint and a great venue to relax and recharge in. The excellence of the hosting staff/concierges and cleaning women cannot be stressed enough, great folks who do their jobs well. The location is also a huge advantage. You're in walking distance from everything you could possibly need, including the lovely beaches of the Caribbean Sea. All that to say, I'll definitely be coming back to both Playa del Carmen and La Pasion.

A little old hotel but great staff and location. We got a room on the 3rd floor and the only pain was that there was no elevator. They do help you with bags when you check in. But daily up and own with stairs is something you should be expecting. The pool looked nice, even though we couldn't make use of it. Adding breakfast is recommended. Shout out to Roberto working there. Also the room has almost 0 power outlet other than the one near TV so we had to plan to charge our phone and couldnt use phone on bed while it was charging.

Where do I start???.. dupped on 24 hour shuttle service. When requested they said I would have to call a cab. When I did call one the cab driver quoted me 900 Pesos & the manager told him in Spanish to charge me 1100. He thought I didn't understand 😕..next poor towel service. Next a lot of accidental areas where one can injure themselves. Next having to come back & forward to communicate with them due to no phone service. One Chanel of English which presented the same episode of NCIS over & over again. The room was much smaller in person than in the pics. Kept banging our toes on furniture 😫.. Over all it was not worth it. But my wife & I had an awesome time outside of the Hotel.

I booked here based on the strength of the reviews, but I was dubious of the generic, staged room photos. In hindsight I should have chosen elsewhere, but that's mostly due to specific needs.
There is nowhere to sit at a desk/table in the room. Usually there's a desk, or a table and mirror for women to do make up etc. I spoke with reception and they told me none of the rooms have this, so it seemed even moving rooms wasn't an option. This is a big issue for me as need to be able to comfortably spend some time on my laptop during my trip. The internet was also intermittent at best and wasn't working most times I needed it.
The room itself was ALL bed, there's barely any other space. Even for two people the bed is unnecessarily large. If it was smaller, there would be plenty of room for a desk and other typical comforts.

The location is great if you want to explore central PDC, but next time I'll stay further afield and get somewhere with more space and useful amenities.
There is nowhere to sit at a desk/table in the room. Usually there's a desk, or a table and mirror for women to do make up etc. I spoke with reception and they told me none of the rooms have this, so it seemed even moving rooms wasn't an option. This is a big issue for me as need to be able to comfortably spend some time on my laptop during my trip. The internet was also intermittent at best and wasn't working most times I needed it.
The room itself was ALL bed, there's barely any other space. Even for two people the bed is unnecessarily large. If it was smaller, there would be plenty of room for a desk and other typical comforts.

We had an extraordinary 10 days at the La Pasion its location was perfect across the street from town square. Venders of crafts and food filled it Friday Saturday and Sunday evenings. A few blocks from the craziness of 5th so it was tame comparatively. Walmart is a couple blocks away. We only ate breakfast one day and it was fine. Parking was secured we had a few days we did not drive. They cleaned and changed towels daily and bed linens every 3rd day. The front desk staff was proficient. The elevator works but we never took it. We kept the air-conditioning on at all times and it kept the room cool.

I like how it was further away from quinta ave but also a straight walk to get there if I wanted. Its across from a park and in the night they had vendors, food and music. Was amazing - Had pozole at like 9PM from a pozole vendor. :) I solo traveled and I felt safe, beds were comfortable, and room was very clean all days/water pressure was great. It's also right by a big corner store so if you need any last min snacks/water. There is a restaurant connected which came with my stay but I was only there for a few days so I wondered off to eat breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn't use the beautiful pools as the water was so hot. I hear it is very close to ADO bus as well. I would stay again :)

Try the pozole, marquesitas and the knitted bikinis are really beautiful. The pools at La Pasión are clean and inviting. There is 24 hrs assistance at the front desk. Will visit again.
