Staff was very friendly and helpful. It is on the historic side, so rooms are a bit small and have a musty smell. Other than that they were comfortable. And hotel situated right next to the main plaza, so you can enjoy the scenery from the balcony or the pool on the roof.

We got a room with a balcony, the view was awesome. The service and the people at the hotel was excellent every body was very knowledgeable and ready to help.

Stay here!!! Best location, clean hotel, friendly staff, very secure location: they lock the main doors at night and don’t allow anyone in. They check all ID of any guests. Best staff ever! It felt like a 5 star resort just smaller rooms. The rooftop pool is gorgeous! Breakfast and lunch was also amazing!

This location was nothing less than AMAZING!!! In the heart of the Walled City. Great staff. They were always polite and friendly. More importantly, very helpful. If you are looking for quiet silence, this isn’t the place. As I’ve said before, it’s located in the heart of the Walled City and they love to party in the Walled City!!! Excellent location and decent room. We enjoyed using the rooftop swimming pool as well. It would have been good to have the option of pool towels as otherwise you have to use the ones from your room. We didn’t take up the option of the buffet breakfast as we felt 16 dollars per person was a little expensive and there was no children’s discount, but there are plenty of dining options nearby.

Definitely not an 8! I want to start by saying I never would have booked this if the rating represented the property- again 5-6!!
I will not mention the noise, I was prepared for noise being from NYC and now Miami Beach. Noise was not an issue. The balcony doors blocked a lot of the noise and the other good thing I have to say is that the bed was very comfortable.
The rooftop was so run down and dingy and NOT like the pictures at all. I was expecting to spend time there but there was no shade and dirty old plastic furniture.
I was so disgusted by most of the streets in the walled city. The streets smell bad, very bad! There is dirty water poodles that smell like urine and feces! The vendors are the WORST part! I probably will not be back to Cartagena just based on the tricky, pushy, rude vendors. They would attack me as soon as I stepped foot on the dirty streets.
The safety was definitely a concern. There was a huge police vehicle parked in front of the hotel all night long. That actually made me more concerned and uncomfortable. There are prostitutes and drug dealers as soon as you step on to the corner or in front of the hotel. Truly disgusting. We traveled with our young daughter. We checked into another hotel after two nights and lost our money for the other 4 nights - I literally had to get out of there!

The hotel is great. Rooms comfortable and staff friendly. The food in the restaurant is excellent and pool on the roof top has a wonderful view, but the area is incredibly noisy at night. We had a room looking over the square to the front of the building but the noise at night is insufferable. We had to move our room to the side of the building. Colombians never sleep they party all night long! Cartagena is a wonderful place to visit we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will return. The restaurants are excellent and shopping is great.

Decent stay. Very central, a bit noisy.

This hotel is located right in the center of everything. It's meters away from the piers for visiting the islands, and right in the middle of all the action. That's good, or bad, depending on your preferenes.

Rooms are a bit small, AC isn't that strong, but overall everything worked fine and location was great.

No clue where to begin. Service was terrible! Upon checkin, every single guest had to provide ID. My family is from Colombia, so I was told they would have to pay additional tax as my guests even though it was MY reservation and I PAID for the room and tax already! We were told my nephew (1yr old) was not allowed to stay because he did not have an ID and his father did not have his birth certificate with him. When making the reservation on Travelocity it asked how many people in each room, I indicated 2 adults and 1 child per room (I book two Superior Rooms [Extra Bed 2 Adults 1 Child). It asked for their ages, I said 16 and 1, and I was told I only booked rooms for 4 adults! They told me I had to pay extra for the kids! THEN.... they put my family in a room with ONE BED although I booked a room with two beds and did not tell me!!!! They said they can't see what is booked when you use a site like Travelocity, and they did not have two of the rooms I reserved available. After leaving to find another hotel, when I returned to checkout I was told they were going to move my family to another room which ended up being exactly the type of room I reserved in the first place! An entire 90 minutes of my time WASTED!!! My room faced the plaza and the hotel is right by the clock tower which was a nice view. However, the nice view turned out to be a NIGHTMARE because they party in the plaza ALL NIGHT!!! Sirens, alarms, music, loud people til 6am! Mold, mildew, broke toilet and lamps

El hotel tiene buena ubicación y servicio, solamente eso. Luego al estar al lado de una plaza hay ruido toda la noche. En dos noches de alojamiento el ruido se mantenía hasta las 5AM, y el hotel no provee tapones antiruido ni nada.

Además parece que el negocio del hotel no es el alojamiento, que no es barato. Sino el minibar, dónde te venden un agua a un precio ridículamente alto.

Beautiful hotel. Great central location. Excellent service. Very popular tourist spot outside, this lends to a very noisy atmosphere. If you have a room with a view. The views are fantastic but noisy until 3-4am. Morning is quiet. The pool has a fantastic view also!!!

It is a fantastic location, and the rooftop with the pool is perfect. The staff was very attentive. However, the rooms are dated for an “urban” hotel, and the towels look like they have been there since the late 70s. Also, if you have a light sleep, remember that the hotel is in the middle of Party Central.

Easy and quick check in, friendly staff. Excellent location to walk around the city. Room is small but good orginized and very good view to the clock tower, plaza and the sea... Next buildings have a rooftop bar and disco which has laud almost during the night. The point is if you want to stay in historical area, there is no chance to be away from these kind of noisy places. So, I could not complaint about this.

The hotel itself is ok. It’s smack in the middle of el centro feet from the clock tower. A little wear and tear, but that’s not a big deal. The room did look nicer on the pictures if I had to be honest. The comforter had a couple of yellow stains on it. The AC unit did not cool very well. I didn’t anticipate nor appreciate that they charge a fee for every visitor you have over. I have family and friends in Cartagena so this was definitely an unexpected inconvenience for me. There is no mention of this fee for guests anywhere online or in the rental agreement they have you sign at check in. I discussed it with the staff there and they agreed with me that there was no mention of the fee anywhere but refused to waive it. I’ve stayed in bocagrande before, particularly in the Estellar and the prices for both hotels are about the same only the estellar is MUCH nicer. Personally, I’ll look at other hotel options and just take taxis to el centro next time I visit my family and friends there.

The hotel itself is ok. The issue is that if you want to have a guest visit you, they charge you. This is nowhere to be found online when you are booking the hotel and it doesn’t even appear in the contract they have you sign when you arrive, surprise fees are unappreciated by me. For the cost of the hotel room and the fee for guests, you are better off staying in one of the nicer hotels in Boca Grande. I’ll never stay here again

It's a basic property - nothing fancy.. good staff, good location.. we booked a room with a view - the pictures show the room having a balcony but it doesn't have one, so a bit misleading. It was really loud at night, so if you're a light sleeper, do not book here. The shower in our room was leaking and the room was out of toiletries (also we didn't bother requesting for refills). All in all, a fairly basic no-frills property.

I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. I had a balcony room which was a great window of the almost 24/7 happenings of plaza de la coches. I found the room neat and tidy everyday and the overall condition of the building I would say is very good for this property and it’s environs. The staff, especially the front desk managers and onsite restaurant staff, are very friendly and accommodating and are a strong factor in my high rating for the property. Also, I was very impressed with both the breakfast buffet and regular meal choices found on the menu. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast is good, you have what you must need and is well organized, clean and great servers.
The room is a little small, but no problem for us. We got the room with balcony that was a plus, because we enjoy see the busy night from there and have one more drink!
The big plus on this Hotel is the Pool at Roof top, the pool is great and the view is priceless. You have one of the best views of the town without paying a 5⭐️Price.
Please not that this is a simple hotel, with simple furniture. And yes: is noisy and busy area. Cartagena is a party city, the night is hot! We solved that problem using hear plug’s for sleep.
The location save you because you can do à pitstop at Hotel between your adventures .
Recommend for those who want a good price, good location .

My husband and I stayed 6 nights . horrible experience. room was very small , no windows, bathroom had mulled.bathroom vent air circulation did not work. since no windows because of the bathroom the room smelled. when we took shower, all water went through under shower door. poor housekeeping, folded the dirty towels back, we complained serval times and talked with the front desk manager Taitana and explained that we are not happy with the room, we were ignored. even after complaining about the towels, the next day they left a old towel with holes plus the 2 glasses were left dirty. we would leave the hotel on the day one unfortunately all other hotels around were booked. The only reason we booked this hotel because of our best experience in NH hotel (same company ) in Bogota last year plus the hotel location. however , on the 5th day of our stay there was leak from sink celling and ruined most of my makeup plus water inside our shoes. they changed our room on the 5th day but my vacation was already ruined staying in the filthy room . if it was only leaking , we would not have problem , things happens but too many issues and they management did not do anything . I must say that some of the front desk staff like Benjamin,Heiner were nice and helpful, restaurant staff were very nice and good customer services but we are very disappointed with the management of the hotel and with their poor customer service skill. They should not even offer that kind of room to any guest .
