Lovely rooftop bar and pool with the best views in Cartagena. Decent size room with enormous bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast was 5 star dining- a bit over the top in terms of the fuss and effort but a special experience. Sadly our nights sleep was disrupted by the loud private party on the roof which mercifully stopped at midnight.

Paid for the best room — at least that’s how it was marketed. The rug and the furniture were worn and stained. It was disgusting. The rooftop pool was tiny. There was only seating for a few people at the pool. Having traveled over a dozen times to Cartagena the past 25 years and almost always liking the accommodation, I was shocked that this hotel is marketed as a luxury hotel. It is a dump.

The room was clean and well appointed but just a little bit musty when we entered. I loved the location of this hotel it was near to everything no need for cabs. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was just meh, the menu could be more varied especially breakfast. We loved the rooftop restaurant for the view and atmosphere. I would stay there again but just eat out more.

While they did offer to change my room I did not feel like re packing again. I feel this was a known issue and needs to be properly corrected before that room is rented out. I will come back to this hotel just not that room.

We stayed at this hotel this past weekend for my sister’s wedding, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. For months, our family communicated with the front desk to ensure our rooms would be near the bride for convenience and comfort, especially since we had small children and needed to coordinate with her. Despite all this planning, the woman at the front desk deliberately placed other guests from the wedding on the same floor as the bride — but not her immediate family. We were given the worst rooms and were placed on the first floor while the bride was on the sixth.
The front desk staff member was often rude, dismissive, and at times didn’t even answer the phone. When the wedding party arrived, she was nowhere to be found. For someone who appeared to be the manager or person in charge, this behavior was completely unacceptable.
After months of preparation, we expected at least a basic level of courtesy and communication, but that was clearly too much to ask. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone planning a special event or family gathering — the lack of professionalism and disregard for guests’ needs was extremely disappointing.

El serivicio del restaurant pésimo( necesitan ayudarles a entender qué realmente es un Servicio al cliente) Respecto al aire acondicionado no se que tipo de sistema usan pero en el día y en la noche no funcionó para nada. The Movich hotel is right in the middle of all the action. Perfect for walking everywhere. We could not be happier with the service and the views from our bedroom. I would stay there again in the future. The breakfasts were amazing and the service was excellent. Because the hotel was so central to all the tourist attractions, we were able to come by and get refreshed in the middle of the day without wasting too much time. It was scorching hot out on the streets and coming to our nicely refrigerated bedroom to take breaks was awesome.

This hotel stay was supposed to be booked for April 1 - 2nd 2026, when the confirmation arrived back it was for yesterday evening. I contacted the property, the booking agent (hotels.com) to let them know about the error. No one has been able to assist. I am not looking for a refund, just an adjustment to the desired booking date of April 1 - 2.

We recently stayed at the Movich. What an experience. Front desk staff possibly the. Invest we have had anywhere in the world. They were beyond helpful when we checked in to hold our luggage, provide us a place to change, call a car etc. They spoke every time you were coming or going. Always asking what they could do for you and if you were enjoying your stay. Really incredible in every way. Facility is great. Amazing rooftop pool. Drink and food service at the pool. Great rooms. Movich Hotel Cartagena was a fabulous place to stay. I really enjoyed the location in the Centro which is close to everything including the marina and historic plazas with restaurants and nightlife. It has a roof top pool that's small but has a fantastic view. A few steps up is a popular bar with food with even better views, including at sunset. The staff is incredibly responsive and helpful. A delicious breakfast is included. It is restaurant style, not a buffet, which is nice unless you are in a hurry. They have Direct TV. My room had an ancient looking stone wall that's probably fake but gives an authentic feeling. It had been an office building. When it was converted, about 20 years ago, they found a Spanish cannon from the 17th or 18th centuries, and it is on display. Also they have free coffee and cookies at all times in the lobby.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the design of our rooms especially the double shower and sinks! We also loved the service of Yennis, Sandra and Isabella our servers during our dine in breakfast. We occasionally chose to eat outdoors and their service was more than exceptional! The rooftop dining was amazing along with the poolside view! The front desk service was also exceptional as they assisted with providing the best service and even getting us reservations at another establishment! This place is in the center of everything which is definitely walking distance and low mileage for an Uber! Book if you can!

You never really know what you are getting when you book online, but the Movich was great! Our room and bathroom were very nice (except the view to the construction site but we weren’t there for the room view). Good AC and the room was generally quiet (except our Saturday night neighbors but they left Sunday) Location was perfect and all of the walled city was easily walkable. Although we didn’t use the pool, we definitely took advantage of the rooftop bar for the sunset views. The staff was always friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. And the breakfast was perfect! I’ve never eaten that much fruit in 5 days and and everything else we ordered was delicious. We would definitely stay there again.
