It was a very old hotel. Lots of history. NO ELEVATOR. Make sure you get a room on a lower floor if you have luggage. It's in the heart of old town. Really good breakfast. I would stay here again if I got a lower floor.

I loved everything about Casa Cordoba Estrella! My main concern for this trip was finding reliable transportation. And they exceeded my expectations! Their staff was extremely warm, friendly, and useful! I recommend this beautiful place 10000%! The breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed having it in such a home/relaxing environment. Every area I passed by was clean and it was pleasing returning to such a warm place every day. I'm very thankful for finding this place for my first visit to Cartagena!

Wow! Don't skip to property.
By pure chance we came across this property and what a find. Where to start? The location is perfect within the walled city and yet quiet, where you can't hear the street noises. The decor is like stepping inside a museum. The details all over the property, show a true attention for details. Don't miss their two story library adapted for business. The wifi is strong everywhere. There's an amazing rooftop pool and terrace with an amazing 360 view of the city and ocean; perfect for a sunset drink or kiss. The rooms are big and comfortable: beds are comfortable, ac works perfectly, bathrooms have big showers with strong water pressure and the temperature you prefer. The staff is friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast is different and fresh everyday, with local flavors and incredible fruit. If you're lucky enough you can meet and chat with the owner, Monsieur Henry: he has incredible stories that will keep you entertained. Bonus fact: they have multiple properties, and we were lucky enough to visit their Baru private beach location too. There you can have a quiet and personalized experience with fresh seafood and water activities. Everything is oozing personality and not a cookie cutter mega resort. If I come back to Cartagena, I'll make it a point to come back here.

Highly recommend Casa Cordoba Estrella. Went to Cartagena for a wedding and they made everything extremely easy. Checking in was easy and although I speak Spanish, they spoke great and clear English and were very helpful and informative. Free breakfast was way more than I expected including fresh juice, coffee, fruit bowl and eggs made to order. Room was clean and comfortable with my only issue being that the towels didnt smell clean but looked clean. Although I didnt use it, the pool on the rooftop looked clean and a great place to cool down from the heat with a nice view. Oh and the place felt very safe with their locked door and in a general safe area with lots of shops nearby

Totally delightful. The property is in a PRIME location: the heart of the walled city/old town. You can walk everywhere. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, and the hotelier, Henri, is an absolute gem. He is AMAZING. Breakfast (included!) is delicious. The only problem is that we don't know when we can go back again...but we WILL. Do yourself a favor and stay in this charming and beautiful boutique!

The hotel is of the 18th Century and the furniture is in tune with the time. From the hotel one can walk safely to any place within the walled city. And it is extremely quiet in the hotel, regardless of the noise outside. Breakfast is excellent, with a different \"typical\" Colombian menu each day. The pool is small but quite nice. The people who work at the hotel are quite nice and available 24 hours.

Al hacer el check in me explicaron todo claramente, de una manera amable y atenta. Todo el personal es educado y servicial. La habitacion es pequeña pero tiene un balcon y el baño es grande. Tiene todas las amenidades, aire acondicionado y un mini bar donde puedes comprar bebidas. La piscina en el roof está bonita y tiene un area techada para disfrutar. La biblioteca es un área increible con obras de arte y pinturas. El desayuno varía todos los dias, es de dos opciones y es muy delicioso. Se puede hacer check out tarde sujeto a disponibilidad y con un costo extra que me pareció buen precio. Para el tiempo de mi estancia tenían un portero llamado Goyo (o algo asi) que me pareció la mejor recepción que he tenido en mis viajes, es un gato blanco con manchas amarillas que maulla cuando llegas, excelente servicio para Goyo le dejo mis 5 estrellas

Nos encantó nuestra estancia en Casa Córdoba. La ubicación es perfectamente situada en lugar céntrico de la mejor zona. Pudimos caminar a donde quisiéramos con facilidad. El hotel muy de estilo colonial y en buenas condiciones. Susana y José fueron excelentes anfitriones y nos ayudaron con todo lo que les pidiéramos. El desayuno de cada día fue agradable con fruta fresca y una variedad de huevos al gusto o arepas tradicionales. La azotea cuenta con una alberca pequeña que nos sirvió a refrescarnos después de caminar en el calor del día.

I like this property and I met the owner very humble and friendly man. Breakfast and coffee were good. Its made to order no buffet with cheap options. Rooms are clean and quiet on my side. Rooftop with pool is very relaxing . I gave 5 stars but just a couple things no towels in my friend's room or my room when we went to take a shower. I guess they forgot . Also I did get a recommendation from the one of the ladies at the reception area for a guy who does tours to the beach. and other places . I decided to take trip to the beach the last day before I left and it was very disorganized frustrating trip and no one spoke English. I tried to converse with the guy William which I was told by reception he spoke English but he did not answer, the phone,he just wanted to text which was concerning. Anyway I do not suggest using this guy to organize any trips. Otherwise my stay for 3 days was nice.

What I abhorred was the high decibel noise of a wedding celebration next door on a Saturday late into the night, it gave me a headache, I couldn’t sleep, the staff let me move to another room for the night where the noise was negligible so I could sleep. The hotel staff had no authority to do anything about it legally because it was not their property.

Property is extremely charming love the colonial style. Beautiful details. I enjoyed exploring the library. The staff was excellent. The room was small but that was ok. We did have problems with the hot water as it was too hot & had trouble regulating it at the shower. For the cost of the room the hotel should offer a few more aminities such as body cream, blow dryers n possibly slippers. Breakfast included was satisfying. We had a lovely time.

So much to like about Casa Cordoba Estrella. Staff was amazing the entire stay. Morning breakfast is made to order with incredible fresh fruit, fresh juice, eggs and more. The location seemed to be less than a five minute walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Room was very large and air conditioning worked great. One of the most unique, charming hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The structure and design of the hotel was beautiful, the room was extremely comfortable (and had AC), the staff was friendly and attentive, the pool was a bit small, but clean and refreshing, and the breakfasts were delicious. The location was on a slightly quieter street in the middle of the old town, which was extremely convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

Great if looking for a basic stay without comforts
This property is very secure and in a good location. The issues we had are that the room never really cooled down, the bed was short, and the wifi would cut out during usage. Room is equipped with a wall mount A/C and overhead fan. But our room had doors to a balcony and to the inner courtyard that were not flush with the floor. So no matter how much you run the A/C the room didn’t completely cool down. Not great in the 100 degrees, 100% humidity. Also the A/C didn’t reach the bathroom. The bed was very short for a “queen”. My husband is 6’2” and couldn’t fit top to bottom on the mattress. These might not be issues for you, and if not it’s a great place to stay. But for what we were expecting based on the description it didn’t quite fit our needs.

The best location EVER! The hotel is an old structure and therefore has old plumbing, the walls sweat during the day, minimal amenities (pool is tiny). The bathroom towels are clean but are old. When we arrived we had to have our pillowcases changed due to visible stains. The staff are THE BEST! They make up for the above discrepancies. Breakfast if good but the same every day. I would stay there again only for the staff ( they made us feel at home).

Great location right in the center of the old city. It was a 10-15 minute walk to pretty much anywhere you wanted to go. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the room was spacious and clean. Air conditioning worked great and the shower was awesome. Breakfast was included and was pretty good but there are so many great cafes to walk to that we chose to skip breakfast most days. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena.

A unique surprise!
A beautiful six room boutique hotel located in the heart of old Cartagena Colombia. Obviously an old mansion from many years ago. Antique Furniture to match. A library and sitting room with many books from the 1800s. Very friendly and helpful staff. The free breakfast it was fantastic. I will definitely stay here again if I ever decide Cartagena in the future. I would also recommend it to my family and friends. Maybe the most lovely and unique small hotel I have ever visited.

Loved our stay here. The staff is so nice and goes out of their way to help you. Ladies working there helped us with dinner reservations and any transport we needed even on the days we weren’t staying there.
The hotel is beautiful. Tastefully decorated. Really loved the library room. We were afraid it was going to be loud since it’s in the centre area, but it was nice and quiet.
The only thing that was a bit annoying was that the bed was creeky so if one person moves a lot, it can be annoying.

It was an amazing experience to stay in this well maintained old Spanish style house - converted to a hotel. (See photos attached). The service was impeccable. The only bad is our room: although it had windows there was a wall/barrier obstructing our views. So we felt a little bit claustrophobic.( And the room was not cheap.) But the rest of the house, the service, and the people attending us more than compensated for that inconvenience. Thank you.

We stayed at this hotel in the suite for 5 nights in late August and could not have been happier. The location is great and around the corner from several breakfast/coffee spots. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a picturesque interior courtyard and a gorgeous library and breakfast room decorated in a traditional Spanish colonial style. The rooms were very clean with large towels and some amenities. Air-con and wifi always worked well, and water was always hot.
The rooftop pool was very scenic and empty when we went, with plenty of towels and chairs available. Beautiful views of the city!
Service was EXCELLENT - Discrete but available, which is my ideal as I am not a fan of cloying or pushy staff. I booked through Expedia and asked a question in the email to staff; They answered within hours and sent me a follow up email before my flight to confirm my arrival time. You do have to ring the doorbell to enter the house, but it was never a problem and staff always responded promptly. We had all three guests arriving on separate days and it was never a problem coordinating with staff to have them be let in to the suite.
Price was a also a major plus - we found this hotel quite underpriced compared to other historic guesthouses/hotels in the walled city - especially considering that Cartagena is very touristy and trendy at the moment, with many slightly larger boutique hotels the same price as hotels in major US cities.
