Great staff and very friendly. The rooms are VERY small with very little space to put clothes. They only provided 2 towels in the room which was a bit low when you’re out traveling throughout the day. Quite pricey for the style of room and the amenities. Probably will look for another place when we come back.

Delirio Hotel was wonderful. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile, given a lovely local fruit drink and received detailed answers to all our questions about the area. Delirio's location is in the walled city, minutes from the sights, shopping and restaurants. We arrived early and were directed to great a place for breakfast, and our room was ready when we returned. Breakfast each morning is everything you want, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, croissants, omelettes, scrambled eggs and great coffee. The kitchen staff always have a smile and warm greeting. Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The shower was amazing. We would sit with a glass of wine on our little balcony over the street to watch the world go by before heading to dinner. There is also a roof top terrace to visit if you don't have a balcony. I definitely recommend Delirio. And Cartagena is a special place to visit.

Delirio was clean with the most lovely friendly staff. It’s a budget hotel, no frills but very clean & balcony room was a plus to see the views & street life . Unfortunately we were not warned of INSANE construction going on. The beautiful courtyard with pool does not exist - it’s full of scaffolding . Hammering & drilling at all hours until 7:30pm! We had to call the front desk daily to ask them to stop drilling in our wall, they would stop when we called but continued each day. Otherwise would be a great budget stay with pretty balcony view .

I made a reservation, but I had to change the date. I was able to reach once the hotel, but I was never able to reach them again to finish the process of changing the date. So I had to book another hotel, and i was not refunded. The hotel seems nice, but my experience with client service and refund was very bad.

This is the most unclean and cheap looking room I’ve ever stayed in. Not worth $160 a night. The room, shower, sink is very poor quality and with grime and rust. Cheap chipping paint. The floors and room emanate every single sound from the outside so we couldn’t sleep. There is no balcony or view. They only show you the best rooms in their photos. The stairs don’t even have hand rails which is so dangerous when walking down (I’m 6 mo. pregnant). The WiFi constantly went out so i ended up using a lot of data on my phone without realizing it. The concierge have a poor attitude about working. Look at you crazy if you ask them a simple question (we speak fluent Colombian Spanish). Won’t refill the waters in the lobby (pitcher always empty) and never brought us the juice they promised during check-In. Even when I asked for it he pitched be filled so I could have a glass of water, they didn’t want to. Even in the daytime, they’re not at their desk to buzz us in at the door. My goodness, we’ve stayed at many beautiful hotels in Cartagena for much less and better hospitality. This place was such a scam. The only exception was the nice gentleman that served us our eggs in the morning who was the only hospitable person.

This could be a super boutique hotel & is in an excellent location but it's a little tired and is in need of some TLC.
The windows in the room were in a poor state, the bathroom window was missing it's handle so was always open, the bedroom window had a handle but was very difficult to close because the window frame was bent.. not a major problem in terms of safety given we were on the 5th floor but does mean the air-con never really works properly.
The electronic keys for the bedroom sometimes took many attempts to unlock the door & despite changing the keys 3 times things never really improved.
Breakfast was good, the pancakes were soft and fluffy and the arepa stuffed with egg was good too. It was just a little unusual that despite being told breakfast ran until 10, that we essentially found the breakfast area closed at 9:30... they were good enough to reopen and make some more of the delicious pancakes though!

Great website not so great reality. The property is need of repairs. They were doing this during my visit. Lots of wood rot and mold. Walls were thin as I could hear neighbors talking next door late into the night.

The staff was nice and helpful. Great being in the old town, but also too much hawking for my liking. As soon as you left the lobby there was someone yelling at you and trying to get something from you.

it was an overall good stay , the only official complaint that i have is that one of the check in associates charged me a whole night for an extra guest that was staying only the overnight in my room , the amount was a few dollars short from a room price , and eventhough i thougt the amount was ridiculous , i paid it , next time be more concious about the amount you charge for an extra guest , thank you .

The expression “Mi Casa Es Su Casa” lives on at the Delirio which deserves 10 stars. My wife and I stayed at 2 Hotels in Cartagena during this 1-week trip, the first was a global brand and the other was the Delirio. From the moment we booked to the moment we left, the Delirio’s only concern was to offer up the best hospitality possible, way beyond what the other hotel offered. From management to front desk, to kitchen, to housekeeping, all wanted to contribute to our best experience. They insisted on changing our room, which was perfectly fine, but because they ‘sensed’ we preferred a different layout. The fresh cooked breakfast was superb, they even accommodated our guests who came by offering them coffee and breakfast. Thank you all for the wonderful stay - our premier choice in Cartagena.

Great location but needs updating. Staff was very friendly but most don’t speak English, for an international hotel! Room was clean but not enough space for luggage and not enough shelvings for any personal items. Bathroom needed upgrades. Sink outdated with zero area/ shelving to put anything. Window to street are not only not sound proof but it feels like they’re left open as you hear everything outside from cars and pedestrians (bring your earplugs).
Breakfast was good with great service except our last day, both service and food was bad. We won’t stay here again.

We were very disappointed to receive a room that had a leak from the bathroom above the room we were assigned. we raised the issue with the hotel within 10 minutes of entering the room and realising the problem. We can't quite ascertain if they knew prior to our arrival but we suspect they did. They promised they would switch our room the following day at 3pm. When we arrived at the hotel at 3pm the following day to make the switch, we found they had allowed the occupants of the room we were switching into, a late check out. They did make the switch eventually and we are currently awaiting a refund of the first night, but we were disappointed in the overall experience. To add insult to injury, it looks like we left 2 fleeces int he room we moved from which were then not found. All in all it was a disappointing stay in an otherwise excellent trip.

Hands down the worst part of my trip was the stay at the hotel. Not because the room was bad, or the place wasn’t clean, but because of the staff. Specifically issues with the front desk. I was never made aware of rules at the hotel that aren’t shown on Expedia when booking my stay. They show you rules later when you arrive at the hotel however, mine was in Spanish and getting in close midnight didn’t make things better. I was told to write my cell#, email, and address. Nothing more. Later I was told i was being charged 200.000 pesos per guest that came to the hotel. Honestly, rule sucks but the problem wasn’t that it was a rule but that it wasn’t explained to me ever AND this is the one .. they forged my signature on two different contracts that I never seen. What honestly saved me was that my signature on my passport didn’t match the forged signatures from the front desk. On top of that it was two different forged signatures they were trying to convince were mine. End of the day, maybe your experience will be better than mine but who wants to do business with people who forge signatures ? Not me

This property is located in a very central area which is in walking distance to many of the tourist attractions. The staff were super friendly and always willing and available to help with whatever we needed. They helped us book a trip to one of the islands and called cars for us when needed. The breakfast was great. They served fresh arepa de huevo which is a traditional breakfast of Cartagena. Our room was great as well. We had a beautiful view of our surroundings and the AC kept us cool. Overall we had a great experience and would stay here again.

The property is in the perfect spot in old Cartagena walled city, the staff was extremely friendly, I was there from Thursday till Sunday. I’ll start with the room has no phone, so if you have a question you have to go down to the desk. Friday we lost power from like 10am till about 5 pm, the hotel has no power back generator but they got one delivered and it only took 3 hours. No power so that means no water because they use a pump to send water to the rooms. I left for the day and when I came back we had power and water. They don’t have a restaurant or bar so you need to go next door and order food and the hotel has dining tables you can eat there. They only have breakfast and it not much to choose from. Sunday morning I wake up to get ready because my flight was at 12 and no water. The pump broke so I told them to get me water to shower and they send me 2 buckets of water. It did the trick, I don’t mind all of those issues but the place was not cheap. Again great staff.

Had horrific experience upon checkin for New Years week! My room AIr Conditioning was broken. Water pressure was terribly trickling and toilet didn’t flush well at all! My friend who was also at hotel had AC but same plumbing issue. I had to leave my room front & balcony sliding door open to get any cross breeze while waiting on the bed sweating from the humidity. It took 5 hours with this unsafe and uncomfortable condition before a portable unit arrived ONLY usable with my sliding glass door left unlocked & open with exhaust hose taped which subjected me to extremely loud street noise all night being that I was on the second floor and feeling very unsafe throughout night with little security. I got less than 2 hours of sleep that first night… i was so stressed to be stuck with this hotel option for the remaining 5 days of my group trip that I grabbed the only hotel available for holiday weekend that wasn’t 18 miles away from my friends. I was lucky to find a good hotel w/a competent staff that popped up due to someone’s cancellation. Even after speaking with Delirio manager on my next day leaving hotel to healthier option, I have not yet received a respective refund nor apologetic email. They responded to every inquiry promptly before I arrived 12/29…

I was forced to ask Expedia to intervene on my behalf. As a well-traveled American and one who has worked & consulted with lustily hotels in New York, my stay and requests for refund was grossly mishandled!

Pésima experiencia, llegamos y había un daño y no nos avisaron, no había elevador y el aire lo solucionaron con aires portátiles el cual se daño y dejó de funcionar. Luego nos quejamos y nos cambiaron de cuarto sin antes haberlo revisado, el cuarto al cual los cambiaron era de dos calas individuales y no era por lo que habíamos pagado, el baño usado, toallas usadas etc. Sin contar que el personal nos dijo que nos cambiáramos de cuarto sin ellos acompañarnos a revisar el cuarto solo nos dijeron vayan y vean si el cuarto les parece bien. Obvio dijimos que si ya que no teníamos más opción.

My husband and I had a wonderful 4 night stay at this hotel. The location was PERFECT and we could walk to everything in the Walled City. I felt safe in the area and the front door to the lobby remained locked until a staff member buzzed us in which was comforting. The hotel was clean and our room looked just like the pictures advertised. The front office staff were externally friendly and most spoke some English. Breakfast was complimentary and basic (meat, cheese, croissants, fruit, cereal, etc.). We would most definitely stay again when visiting Cartagena.

There is a nice roof top area, but there is no any shade, so would be nice to have some parasol and get better use of the patio.

It was right in the centre of the old city....enjoyed being part of the action! Great staff.....nice continental breakfast...
