The hotel is located 2 hours from Santa Marta by car, 90 minutes from Barranquilla and 5 minutes from the historic centre with numerous restaurants. The beach is about 2.
5 km away in Bocagrande. The building dates back to the 17th century and is a former aristocrat's palace that has been transformed into an elegant luxury boutique hotel.
There are a total of 11 guest rooms as well as a large living room and dining room across the courtyard with a water fountain. This historical hotel features a café and bar, whilst the Colonial Room is ideal for a wedding party or a conference.
Guests are welcomed into a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Facilities include air conditioning, a hotel safe, currency exchange, children's playground, wireless Internet access, room and laundry services, as well as bicycle hire.
The spacious rooms are individually decorated in a colonial style and features impressive high ceilings, marble floors, beautiful 19th century antiques and modern comforts. The master suite has exclusive access to a small terrace with wonderful views over the city.

5 stars! For everything! I literally cried when I had to say goodbye to this hotel. It is STUNNING! I have never felt so welcome and connected to a staff at a hotel before. My husband and I spent 7 nights at Casa Pestagua, and it still wasn't enough time. The atmosphere is relaxing and calm. The gourmet breakfast is beyond extraordinary, and the menu has so many choices. There wasn't anything I asked for that the staff didn't go above and beyond to help accommodate my requests. Definitely go to the spa at the sister hotel for a treatment and take the private boat to Acasi for the day. The pool is a paradise escape during the heat of the Cartagena afternoons. I would like to personally thank Louis, Carlos, Amanda, and Yeily for taking care of us and making us feel at home. Thank you so much to everyone else on staff, too. I will be returning to Cartagena, if only to relax and enjoy this hotel, it's superb service, and see the familiar and friendly faces of the Casa Pestagua team.

From the moment we arrived to our 6:30 am departure (with lovely bagged breakfasts in hand) we were treated like royalty. This hotel is as close to perfect as a hotel can be. Be sure to try their restaurant for lunch or dinner. They’ve crafted a fusion of local fare with Lebanese and the resulting dishes are amazing.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about Casa Pestagua in Cartagena’s Walled City. It was a beautiful hotel in the heart of the Walled City, just one or two blocks away from all the major historic sites. On their street were also the best restaurants and nice shops. But most of all, the absolute best part about Casa Pestagua is her staff. I’m just 3 days off being there, we were greeting everyone by their first names because they likewise always greeted us by name and with full genuine smiles. The ONLY place for me in Cartagena
I really can’t express how much I loved our stay at Casa Pestagua. On our second day, my very hard to please teenage daughter declared, “I give this hotel a 10 out of 10!” The rooms are simply elegant. The hotel is beautiful and charming. However, the true standout is the service. Someone contacted me prior to our arrival to check in on our possible needs and to see if they could be of help with transportation. When we arrived, Katherine and Brandon were OUTSTANDING. I really cannot emphasize that enough. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our rooms and that level of service continued through our trip. From the moment you enter this very special place, you are greeted with a warm smile and a helping hand. The pool in the courtyard was the perfect place to spend the afternoon after being out in the sun all day. They offered complimentary wine and snacks from 5-6 which was an unexpected treat. I am so glad my other plan didn’t work out!

A quick 3-day stay was not enough to fully enjoy Cartagena and especially the Suite Conde de Pestagua! The suite alone is glorious, and the private rooftop lounge and pool made it truly special. Casa Pestagua in Cartagena has become one of our favorite getaway spots. We enjoyed the people and service at this hotel so much, we went back 2 months later. Prior to arriving, I was in touch with concierge Leo. He booked, in advance, an incredible speed boat trip to Isle de Rosario Majagua where we did sporting activities. He also set up a reservation at “Top 10 bar” Alquimico, (dinner and rooftop). Once the staff at Alquimico knew we were from Casa Pestagua, they treated us like first class.
Hotel Manager Katherine remembered us and was there “checking in” every step of the way to make sure our stay was going well.
The food in the restaurant is top tier and maitre’d, Rene, professionally ensures that you get exactly what you want. They had not problem working around our gluten and dairy allergies. Absolutely incredible hotel! Five star treatment from \"hello\"! Checked us in with a delicious cocktail, gave us a tour of the grounds, walked us into our room and showed us around! People don't get any friendlier. Walking distance to everything in the Old Town. From the bartender to the people behind the front desk... people couldn't be any nicer. It was my birthday so they even treated me with a cake! Don't give it a second though, book a room.

Took my wife for her 40th birthday!!! The hotel is quiet and beautiful...we had the grand suite and was upgraded from there to one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in during my travels...roof top jacuzzi and all! The staff is very accommodating and friendly....we had a problem with 1 guy on the night crew being a Jerk..... but otherwise everyone was warm and friendly... they knew our names etc.... went iut of their way to help us..... even gave me pocket money to run around with at night to avoid using big bills exchanging etc. The A/C works very well! The breakfast was good.... we didn't try dinner. YOU CAN NOT HAVE GUEST....we learned that.... but was also accomidated in that regard. Overall... beautiful place beautiful staff of i can get the same room... I'm coming back!

Terrible. I had prepaid for my guest. Night staff would not allow my guest in due to their view of the identification, despite it being verified by police . I checked out due to this. The hotel refused to refund my remaining nights booked for two people . Incredibly rude, unprofessional and corrupt. I have visited Cartagena several times and never received this horrible treatment. I do not recommend this location for any services .

I travelled to Cartagena solo and stayed 3 nights. I was so delighted with the care and attention to my needs by the extraordinary staff that I barely left the property!! The staff was so delightful, thoughtful and attentive. Breakfast was an extraordinary experience and a perfect start to my day. My dinners were also lovely, and the chef was keen to accommodate my vegetarian requests. I booked a suite so that I would have an area to write during the day, I found the room spacious and very comfortable. And the BED! It was incredible to fall into each night. I highly recommend this hotel and had a beautiful experience.

As a converted boutique hotel in an historic structure it was very nice - by Colombian standards. My grand suite was spacious and attractive. Being well situated in the old city provided easy access to historic Cartagena. The food was very good, service was slow but again that is the culture.
The setting of the rooftop Jacuzzi provided a nice view, but the water was barely warm and far from what I think of as appropriate. I would call it a hydro pool (waterjets) but no warmth.
Be sure to enjoy their Coconut Lemonade, it was wonderful.

Everyone is so sincere and goes above and beyond. I'd like to give Jennifer from front desk a shout out. If you need something she'll get it done in minutes and more importantly she anticipates our need and fulfills it. On the day we were checking out, we thought we'll just grab a taxi outside. While seeing us walking out - she asked if we made any prior arrangements, we said no and immediately she grabbed her phone and started calling around to get us a taxi. She could have just waved and send us to our merry way - but she took it upon her to make sure she finds a taxi for us and it was much cleaner and cheaper than the one we arrived in. This is just one example of so many small things that the staffs did for us. All with smiles and sincerity. One of the best experience!!! I wish I asked the names of every staff - but the gentleman that was with Jennifer on the day we checked out was outstanding throughout our stay as well.

Our experience at Casa Pestagua was exceptional. The hotel is teeming with old world charm and the staff is friendly and intuitive. The food and beverage offerings in the hotel restaurant are at par with the best restaurants in the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena’s historic district.

We had a great service from Julio and Miguel from the kitchen. The hotel room was kept clean and well maintained most of the time. Unfortunately the front desk staff didn’t do a good job. When checking out they included various charges of services and fees we never incurred or agreed. We were not given an explanation until we realized those extra charges. From a big amount, our last bill was dramatically reduced. Also, we don’t recommend to ask for extra drivers services, we hired one driver to take us to the south of Colombia, and agreed on a price and upon return they charged us more. Walter (staff) recommended Uriel (driver). We reached out the hotel to ask for help, they received our call and never heard back from them with answers. Check your bill at checking out and do not take their recommendations in terms of agencies or drivers. Perhaps explore more hotel options. There are plenty in Cartagena.
