Clean spacious room with gorgeous bathroom and balcony. Lovely restaurant and great breakfast. Very nice rooftop pool. The only drawback is it’s loud in the heart of the old city across the street from a very old restaurant bar. The staff were very accommodating.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Casona del Colegio along with the rest of our wedding party. The hotel manager Mr. Rojas and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to coordinate our wedding party and make our stays memorable. Never had such a warm and welcoming experience at any other hotel quite like how Mr. Rojas and his staff treated us during our entire stay. The hotel is beautiful and conveniently located near all the best restaurants, nightlife, shopping and close to the docks for day trips to the islands. The hotel lobby, pool, and common areas were clean and chic. The hotel rooms were very nice and the beds were comfortable. The restaurant and bar were both great as well. The hotel was secure and had a doorman greet us every time we entered. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Thank you again Mr. Rojas!

This hotel was amazing. Staff was great, attentive and friendly. Rooms were phenomenal. The hotel was clean. Food was good. Everything was awesome. But, outside our room was party until late hours every night and cabs honking non stop. Bring ear plugs and you’ll love it.

The hotel was very quaint and picturest. What they didn’t tell you was how noisey your room was from all the foot traffic and people partying in the streets of the walled city area. They provided you with ear plugs so that you might sleep but it didn’t help much. Luckily l wasn’t really affected by the noise and was able to sleep. If you are a light sleeper, l would not recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel, great staff, but the “soundproof” windows were not adequate to sleep with the partying and traffic noise from the street below. Lovely central courtyard in the hotel and a rooftop pool to cool off were nice additions.

We really wanted the Jacuzzi room with the balcony so we switch for the second two nights and that room was amazing. The way they took the old style of whatever the building was and transformed. It was so special. The Jacuzzi was great. They keep it halfway and fill it when you’re ready. The tiles were a little rough, but you wouldn’t expect that after so many years. Clean as could be though.
The Jets didn’t work great, but it didn’t matter to us. It was more Time together.

The location is central but the problem with that is that it’s really noisy, you can hear until 3 am the cars honking without end. The room is very beautiful, the bed is very comfortable, it is not perfect clean but average ok. The pool has a nice view but it’s old and not in perfect condition and not very clean. The shower is really good.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and was completely satisfied with our stay. We choose one of the suite to stay in with a private jacuzzi, balcony and corner view. The staff was excellent, attentive, hospitable and efficient. The gastronomy and mixology for a hotel was delightful. The intimate rooftop was perfect to enjoy for small setting with full sun throughout the day. The hotel is located centrally in the heart of the action which was perfect for us. Gets a little noisy at night until closing but didn't bother us. Very spacious room with high ceilings, with new upgrades and vintage character. Definitely will stay here again when we visit the area as a choice. Thank you..!

The welcome on arrival lacked any warmth and it felt like we were disturbing the member of staff. Room was very clean, comfortable and a lovely design, but incredibly dark with unnecessarily complicated light controls. Lovely rooftop area with amazing views. Breakfast service was a little slow at times, but the food was plentiful and delicious. Ate once in the restaurant for lunch and again the food was delicious. Very convenient location in the heart of the old town, so walkable to most areas of interest.

La verdad no fue lo que esperábamos. Nosotros decidimos irnos por la Suite ( la más cara del lugar) y en las fotos se mostraba como una habitación muy amplia a comparación de las otras y con el jacuzzi incluido. Vimos por la pagina de Instagram del hotel y se mostraban varias suites de las cuales asumimos que como pagamos la más cara en EXPEDIA, tendríamos la mejor y al llegar al establecimiento nos dijeron que no. Que habían 4 suites y que nos tocaría la que este disponible en ese momento. Cabe mencionar que este fue el viaje por mi cumpleaños y que las expectativas eran bien altas.
De ahí el hotel es muy muy bonito, ordenado y limpio. Las personas muy amables y dispuestas en ayudar en lo que necesiten. Pero hubiera pagado una habitación sin yacuzzi por un precio menor. No lo vale realmente.

This was a super disappointing stay. The property is very aesthetically pleasing. You are in the center of the old city and it does look beautiful if you have a balcony view. This was a 7 night stay. During checkin I was informed my room was double booked and I’d in my be staying 4 nights and will be moved to another for 2 and then another for the last night. Very disappointed and to add there was miscommunication during the last move where we packed the night before and then told we would actually be staying. Room change was an obvious downgrade and wasn’t able to get compensated in any way. During checkout I spoke with manager to voice frustration and he just put his staff on the spot and reprimanded her as if it was her fault. The room we initially stayed in was very nice with great views of the city but the power would go out at least twice a day for a few minutes so it wouldn’t stay as cool as we wanted it to. If you do opt to stay her I’d recommend a short stay maybe 1-3 nights and opt to stay at a Hyatt for the rest. The city is extremely touristy and unfortunately comes with all the evil of that. As soon as you walk out there are vendors following you to the point of harassment. It is a party hub so there is also a lot of prostitution around this area and many young children and young mothers asking for money around this area. I’ve been to other cities in Colombia and this one was very problematic. You will most likely get scammed if you are not assertive and smart.

Beautiful hotel smack dab in the center of vivacious Cartagena. This hotel is gorgeous. A real mixture of hip new style infuse a centuries old building. Great service. Great drinks at their bar. Great location. Being centrally located was terrific. If you’re adverse to late night sounds (nightlife) this could be a concern, but I’d think that is true anywhere in the historic center.

After staying in a lower-budget hotel in Bocagrande for 4 nights I decided to treat myself to a night in Walled City before my very long flight home back to the States. I am so glad I did! From booking the room until my departure, everything about my stay was amazing. The sound proof room provided a peaceful rest and the decor was amazing. This hotel was so much more progressive than I thought it would be. The staff was absolutely amazing. They helped coordinate taxis, gave recommendations for restaurants, provided great food services, and they even arranged a for a covid test to be done at the hotel for me. They all learned my name by the end of my stay and were super friendly and kind. The hotel is also in a great location with an ATM just around the corner, lots of shopping and restaurants right in the middle of the walled city. I would definitely stay here again if I went back to Cartagena!

Pick a different location next time
Generally very nice place and staff very very nice. However the water supply went out a few time and the hot water went out often. At night we got harassed right on the front door step of the hotel by people hawking things, including girls. I’ve been here before but this was worse, probably due to COVID poverty.

Convenient location, staff promptly greeted me at the door upon arrival, walked me to the room and explained everything about the property and amenities. Rooms are super cool and modern, housekeeping does a great job of keeping everything clean. Breakfast was very good also, and was included in the room rate.
