I had the best sleep during my stay. The bed and pillows are comfy. The shower was good with excellent warm water. The staff is very helpful, friendly and kind. Just sweet and nice people. I felt at home and welcomed. Also it is a great location to get to restaurants, museums, and meeting points for tours. I will stay there again.

Perfect location, walking distance to all the popular sites, and very nice staff. However, there is no airport shuttle as advertised, no local maps available, and the room has no place to put your luggage except on the floor. A table or luggage rack would be a great improvement.

It isn’t in a great location and you can hear car horns and activity all night long. It’s a convenient location to get around the walled city but not if you want quiet or to sleep. We also tried contacting the hotel to adjust our reservation starting a week before our arrival and after 5 attempts with no response we gave up.

Overall a good stay in a refurbished hotel with pool and breakfast included. A few finishing touches would make it 5/5. Right by the head of the bed were sharp wardrobe corners. I was disappointed there was no hairdryer or shelf in bathroom, nor was there a safe. Very good value for money overall, great location, fairly quiet, clean, great bed and bedding and good shower. One window had no cover so we were woken early. The bathroom door doesn't stay closed!

Poor staff support. Bed linen unchanged during a 6 day stay. Bedcover stretched over dishevelled sheets is not a makeover. No glass in bathroom for daily medication; removed daily necessitating going downstairs to request from kitchen! Glass holder in shower but no glass; No shelf in shower for toiletries. Coffee served at breakfast first day thereafter told to fetch it ourselves from a dispenser at opposite end of hotel! Ran out of fresh varietal fruit one morning. Room needs a deep clean.

Staff was great however hotel infrastructure was weak. First night while watching tv the tv randomly turned off and wasn’t fixed till the next day. Main issue was we didn’t shower with hot water here for the entire stay because the manual button on the shower just didn’t work on the hot setting and despite complaining twice nothing was fixed. I even requested compensation for at least a night however my request was ignored - the third day after a 12 hour tour was especially painful not to be able to take a hot shower

The room is extremely small. The king bed takes up almost all the space, leaving very little room between the bed and the walls for luggage. There is no closet, no chair, and no drawers. The only storage is shelving above the bed, which is not very practical.

The towels were old and stained. They looked washed, but the stains made them feel unclean and uninviting.

The staff was friendly and helpful, which was the best part of the stay.

This hotel works for a short stay on a tight budget. It is manageable for one person traveling light. For a couple, especially with more than one bag, the space feels cramped and uncomfortable.

Flew in from Las Vegas and stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The room had everything I needed—comfortable big bed, air conditioning, a bathroom, and a TV. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was clean and practical, which was perfect for my trip.

The biggest highlight is the location. You’re literally within walking distance of just about everything, and there’s so much to see and do in the surrounding area that I was out most of the day. Because of that, I really only used the hotel to shower and sleep, and it fit that purpose perfectly.

The only downside is that you can hear street noise, including honking and police sirens, especially at night. That said, it didn’t bother me too much—throw in some AirPods or earplugs and you’re good to go.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One helpful tip: if you need a blow dryer or an iron, they aren’t automatically in the room, but you can request them from the front desk.

Overall, I felt safe staying here and had a positive experience. If you’re looking for a conveniently located place and plan to be out exploring most of the day, I’d definitely stay here again.

The photographs that you put up on yor website were nothing near reality ( we booked based on the photographs on your site)
The room was so small..no night tables or any furniture in room to sit on NO CHAIRS.
The was Bathroom so small..that sitting on the toilet the knees were scrapping the wall
Th washroom had mold and the walls had gugg on them. The booking was for a Queen size bed and we ended up with a double.
The room had no WINDOWS that we could open.
DOES EXPEDIA EVER CHECK THE PROPERTIES THAT THEY ADVERTISE...FOR THIS ONE SOMEBODY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB.
We were stuck with the room as we had no place to go to at that moment with our luggage and to search Where new hotel and we had already paid Expedia thru my Credit Card.
IT WAS A NIGHTMARE ..IN THE AFTERNOON..an terrible room , an upset wife and no solution at that moment
During our stay NO IRONING BOARD .
JUST IRON WAS GIVEN AND TOLD TO USE THE BED
NO Hairdryer in the room upon asking the staff..they ran around looking for one( the property had one that was to be shared among other rooms..pathetic.
THE WHOLE WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE....
The staff there was excelledent especially Kevin and the 2 ladies in the kitchen.
The girl who checked us in spoke no ENGLISH( Just few words very.
much like other staff members except KEVIN)

The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. There's a trick to the hot water in the shower so just ask when checking in. Staff are great and try their best to communicate in english if your spanish is poor. Air conditioning works great. There is no elevator here so if you need assistance I would suggest a main floor request. This property is not wheelchair accessible. The walkability rating is an 8, you can get just about anywhere within 10 mins. I enjoyed my stay and would repeat.

This was an ideal place to stay! Close to every conveniences, and the pool was super chill, perfect for photo opps. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and assisted with a minor travel hiccup I encountered. I would definitely stay again at Casa Emma Hotel, especially while in Cartagena!!

Casa Emma was clean and cozy. The staff was so wonderful, especially Jesus! He was very helpful and friendly. Make sure to bring your own toiletries as the options are limited but they offer free coffee and a fruit plate. The beds are comfortable and the pool, although small, is nice and clean. This was a very cute boutique hotel. But it needs some additions to be rated a 5 star. The rooms lack a bit of paint and the showers are either very cold or very hot. The room is also missing a save to put money and important documents as well as a small fridge. Besides that, the place was very clean and the staff was willing to help at all times.

The property was centrally located, which was convenient, but that also means it’s right in the hustle and bustle, where the prostitutes and people aggressively selling stuff congregate. The property itself was beautiful, and the employees were kind and helpful. The pool seemed to have a leak or something as the water level kept getting lower and lower, so I didn’t go in, but it’s a nice little spot to relax and unwind.

Quiet in the middle of Cartagena!

Excellent small hotel, right in the middle of the historical center but the rooms are away from the street so it's very quiet. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast is the same every day but very tasty and enough (eggs ith toast, cheese, a plate of fruit, and a juice -- of a local \"exotic' fruit). AC most welcome. I put 4 stars for comfort only because there is no chair or a night table in the room (just the bed) and the light was not over the bed in my room.

Right in the walled city and walkable to everything. Felt safe walking even at night as a solo female. Despite it being loud on the streets, inside the hotel you could hear nothing. It was quiet except when someone was talking loudly outside the door in the hallway ( room doors go to the exterior). I was on the top floor so not sure how the lower floors are with sound especially being by the pool. Water was hot and air conditioner was great. Would stay again. Only recommendation is to have a hair dryer for each from, not just one that you have to share with the whole property - or just bring your own.

This hotel has a great location and wonderful staff. It is very hot in Cartagena and luckily the air conditioning at the hotel was ice cold if you wanted it. The rooms are perfect and beds very comfortable. Staff helped me plan a few excursions and recommended a great steak house for dinner. Would definitely recommend and return.

The hotel is very new. They are improving it so it will be even better. It is also pleasant to the eye.
It has a small pool I did not use, but it is pretty and has a small waterfall feature that is relaxing and soothing.
It is located in the middle of everything, but luckily, no noise from the street gets in the bedrooms. It’s like an island in the center of the historic district.
The best thing is the staff. They are polite, helpful, problem solver people. Breakfast is prepared daily, including a fresh new fruit juice every day. House made tropical fruit juice every day!
The shower is different.. but it works. I’ll advise the management to consider adding a bedside small table/seat. The closet does not fit a dress, but I hanged them on the sliding door rail and it worked.

Very small rooms

The room was extremely small. Had to push the bed against the wall to place my suitcase on the floor. I expressed my concerns and decided to leave to staff was extremely kind and understanding and refunded me the rest of my stay.

The staff at Casa Emma were fantastic. Friendly, helpfull, really nice people.
The hotel had some issues w/ the electicity and water supply, but these may not have been just at the hotel. There was one problem w/ the water heater in our shower, so they quickly moved us to another room.
I loved the location also. The street was pretty quiet in the early night and later night, bustling in the daytime. It was a short walk to the clocktower and various plazas.
I would definitely stay at Casa Emma again, and probably will. I loved Cartagena!

The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Everything was kept clean, and is was interesting to sit at a communal table for breakfast and eat with fellow travelers, the building was beautiful with its modest pool in the open central courtyard. The only downside for me was, not being able to flush paper, (they due have trash cans that completely close, so it really didn’t cause any issues), and even with the air conditioning on, it was difficult to keep the room from feeling damp due to high humidity.

Staff was very nice! However, this hotel has very small rooms, with no furniture other than a bed and TV. Internet/wifi in the rooms is spotty. Had to ask for everything (soap, clean towels) instead of that being part of the regular room cleaning and servicing.

Cutest Boutique Hotel. Excellent location, the NICEST most helpful staff, CLEAN, cutesie and demure Property.
My only negative comment will be that you can hear everything inside your room. They should reinforce “quite public areas from 10am-10pm” no kids should be allow to be running in the hallways at 7am in the morning. Pool hours should also be reinforced.
This property is centrally located in the Wall City, is within walking distance to great restaurants and major attractions and is about 10-15 mins car ride to Boca Grande ( beach area).

I loved my stay at Casa Emma! We stayed for 10 days with my husband and my 6 month old daughter.
It is very well situated, meaning a lot of restaurants, museums and attractions are at walking distance.
The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was always tasty and fresh!
The front desk staff and the cleaning team was simply incredible. They were all extremely kind, professional and always willing to help. The area is safe and overall I would recommend this beautiful boutique hotel.
I would only suggest to put bedside tables in each bedroom!

No es una buena opción de alojamiento. Lo único positivo es que queda en el centro, dentro de la zona amurallada. El hotel es pequeño (entiendo que es Boutique, pero para mí no clasifica como boutique) el cuarto es muy pequeño... solo cabe una cama queen y no hay mesitas de noche. El baño es super incómodo, no hay mucho espacio donde dejar las cosas... Hubo un error en el check-in pues me volvieron a cobrar... para el primer desayuno casi que tuve que tomarlo sentado en el suelo...no había espacio en una mesa que habilitan para coworking y como comedor. En la piscina solamente puede estar una familia / pareja. Hubiese preferido un hotel en la zona de Morros, con buena piscina y acceso a la playa.

This property was very newly refurbished at the time of my stay. The bed was very comfortable, aircon efficient (much needed in the hot weather) and it's walking distance to most parts of the old town. Staff were extremely friendly too. I would definitely stay there again!

This is an incredible hotel - the staff is beyond helpful, and the location is in the middle of so many historic and cultural attractions. The hotel is very clean, the breakfasts were great, and both Kevin and Sandra went out of their way to answer questions, provide information and make recommendations. Our room was not huge, but it definitely was comfortable and provided us with AC, wifi, comfortable bathroom. We would definitely stay there again!

Found this on a whim thru Expedia. The room was clean and cozy. Beautiful hotel and the pool was divine. The only thing I didn’t like was they only had hot water and it’s hot in Cartagena. Overall great stay. Felt safe. Close to restaurants, shopping, etc

The hotel is in the heart of Cartagenas walled city. Five minutes away from the central clock tower, kind of like the time square of Cartagena. It doesn’t seem like much from the outside but inside the hotel is beautiful, very clean, the staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms had hot water, even though who would want to take a hot shower in Cartagena when it’s between 80 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit all year round. They offer a tasty breakfast as well. Do recommend this hotel. It is a half a block away from the center of all the restaurants and nightlife in the city.

Nuestra estancia se vió alterada debido a que hubo una tormenta y se fue la luz por varias horas. No mencionaron que no cuentan todas las habitaciones con agua caliente al momento de la reserva. También el ruido es fuerte cuando hay fiesta en la madrugada. El hotel está bien ubicado para conocer la ciudad amurallada. El personal fue muy amable en todo momento, el desayuno está muy completo y la limpieza muy buena.

Quick Trip to Cartagena

Casa Emma is a lovely place Centrally located in the walled historic center of Cartagena. The hotel seems newly renovated and was very clean and comfortable. The service was exceptional, especially from Kevin who works at the front desk, He did his best to sort out any issues that we had. My reasons for 4 stars is because the hot water in our room did not work, And also we had issues with the TV the first night, the addition of nightstands would also make the small room more comfortable. While the TV was sorted out the next day, They had to arrange for me to shower in another room because our hot water was not fixed. We did not want to move to the room with the hot water because the internet was not working well in that room.
Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay and they offered us a tasty breakfast which I did not expect. I would stay there again.
