Pros: Clean room, I didn’t find it to be too loud, walked into my room with the AC already running and it was nice and cold, Nice Smart TV and Wifi, Balcony, overall friendly staff

Cons: YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE GUEST with a 2 person reservation , You cant pay to switch or have extra guest they dont tell you this until AFTER you’ve paid. No Microwave, Fridge, or iron in the standard room. Elevator only goes up to 5th floor so try to get a room on floors 1-5. Breakfast is not free and I never received my free bottle of wine. The shower was mediocre lights were too dim for my liking and the shower head was busted

Overall its a clean hotel and is walking distance from many things. It is located in not the “nicest” neighborhood. Shoutout to Orlando he’s cool!

We had a great stay at Mood Matuna. Having a hotel in such a central location was so useful. We were able to easily walk to the old town and Getsemani also. The room with the private pool was a god choice as it was so hot and nice to cool off after a walk around.
The area around the hotel did have some people sleeping on the streets but no one bothered us in fact the people in general were really helpful and friendly including the staff at the hotel.
The room was cleaned thoroughly each day and clean towels left when we needed them.
Overall a great four nights in a central location.

My stay at Mood Matuna was amazing and made my birthday trip feel perfect. Before I arrived, Maria, Daniel, and the rest of the staff communicated with me through WhatsApp and helped with transportation, decorations, breakfast, excursions, dinner reservations, water, ice, and the sunset cruise. They answered every question with patience and kindness and never made me feel like I was asking too much.

The birthday decorations were beautiful and looked even better in person. The balloons, flowers, rose petals, candles, wine, and birthday numbers made the room feel so special and were perfect for pictures and videos. I appreciated how clearly they explained the decoration package, pricing, and what was included. They even worked with my arrival time so I could create content.

The room was cleaned and reset perfectly every day, and the free breakfast was really good. The staff was helpful, from bringing breakfast to the room when we were rushing to an excursion to helping with towels, water, and ice. The location was perfect, close to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, excursions, and tourist spots. Everything felt easy to get to.

My only negatives were no elevator to the suite, and the pool jets were broken until the last day. Even with that, I recommend this hotel and would book here again. Thank you to Maria, Daniel, and staff for making my birthday so special. I’ll also be posting a full TikTok review with room views, decorations, excursions, and pictures @biglexdrafts.

Overall, I had a good experience at the hotel. During check-in, there was a slightly awkward situation with the front desk gentleman with the two-tone hair (yellow on top, black underneath), mainly due to a misunderstanding and language barrier. I admit it made me feel a little uncomfortable at first, but the rest of the staff was very helpful and professional throughout my stay.
The breakfast and lunch were excellent, and the servers truly provided 10-star service with their kindness and attention. The location is also very convenient and enjoyable.
The only downside is that the hotel does not allow guests in the rooms, which may be something travelers should be aware of beforehand. Aside from that, the hotel has great potential and continues to improve with minor adjustments.

They are amazing. All the stuff is super friendly. The Breakfast is just out of this world. Don’t lose your time. Going to another restaurant to have breakfast. Just stay right there. That’s my advice Breakfast around Cartagena not good. There is a couple of things regarding the room. don’t take me wrong. The room is just beautiful and super clean but they give you just two towels. There is no iron in the room and no hairdryer but you can always request for and they will get it to you and within two minutes. I guess that’s their policy oh one more thing the location is just perfect is close to every little thing.

Mood Matuna was decent. I can't honestly say anything bad about it at all, the staff themselves we're OUTSTANDING and they are the bread and butter of this location. What makes this only a decent stay is, it does not look like it's pictures at all. The lighting is much more dim, water pressure is very low, there is a very questionable window in the bathroom that if you were to open it, you can crawl to the next room if you fit in there? And one of the things I was looking forward to the most; the pool, was completely dirty, which was a big reason for booking that top floor room. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay for just the night.

I would avoid hotel. One of the night they wouldn’t let me in because I was drunk and had to get a different hotel. They locked the door at after 10pm and they leave which makes it harder for you to get in the hotel. And many homeless outside the hotel. Also big cockroaches

I stayed at Mood Matuna for 4 days and it such a home away from home. The staff is not only kind and helpful, they are professional. The hotel has transportation arrangements back and forth from the airport. It is located in a local neighborhood, so it felt like you were living there rather than just visiting while also been literally steps away from all the touristy stuff. The restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. The rooms are clean, modern, and definitely have that boutique hotel vibe. I work virtually and they made it very easy to do so, even sending technician to make sure there was an outlet in man area of work. If you want the local vibe plus tourist care hybrid, this is your place.

My experience at this hotel is not pleasant. The room is quite different from the picture. We got a room with such layout and the first night the sheets were not clean. The restroom is completely dark at night. The service was good and they send things we need. However, my friend asked for coffee and they told us to get some coffee at the restaurant and charged one cup 3 dollars. They have coffee machine and can make coffee, but I do not understand we got charged for the bad coffee in the restaurant area.

Also, we booked at Expedia and every night the price is more than normal price on Expedia. They explained it was because of the algorithm. We checked the prices for the future days, but it shows that we were overcharged and they refused any refund.

Overall, we felt that we were cheated. The location is good but it is not worth the money at all. We never got the free wine it says on Expedia website.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall experience was good but not excellent. The water went out for half a day in the whole city so that was a big factor on why it wasn’t excellent. Also, the area around the hotel is not that nice and there’s a lot of older buildings that seem dirty. The quality of the soaps and amenities could be improved. The hotel itself was very clean in the rooms and around the hotel.

El hotel mood Matuna fue excelente. Una vez llegamos el personal fue muy cordial y nos dio toda la información acerca de la estadía. Nos hicieron un upgrade de habitación como cortesía de la casa el cual fue sorprendente porque era temporada alta. El personal habla inglés y español y nos brindaron el desayuno el cual no estaba incluido en la reserva y temprano debido a que teníamos que salir temprano al próximo destino. La habitación muy limpia y grande!.

Rooms were clean and spacious, albeit the organization was a bit odd, and tonnes of unused space. Staff were kind and friendly, and quick to accommodate requests. Upon check-in, there were no towels in the room, so we had to request them. There was also only 1 roll of TP, which meant we also had to request more when it ran out. Bathroom space is tiny. Breakfast service was slow and crowded, but the food was fine. It was evident that the restaurant was understaffed and the few people running it were doing the best they could. The location itself is noisy and dirty, but it’s a short walk away from most tourist spots. It’s a decent, cheap stay for people looking for a comfortable bed and a hot shower.

Room was clean and breakfast was excellent. Maria at the reception was very helpful and friendly. However, replacing towels during daily room clean up seems to be an issue. For two days in a row, the room was cleaned, beds made up, but towels were not replaced. Had to wait good 15-30 mins to get new towels when we returned to the room. The other issue is the noise. The rooms have zero sound proof. You can clear your next door neighbors middle of the night and the street noise throughout the night.

From our first minute until the last minute, we had a great experience at Mood Matuna hotel. The room we had was sensational (we booked the room with the private pool, which was absolutely worth it).

The staff were super helpful and accommodating.

The included breakfast was very good and filling, including a buffet of fruit, granola, bread, coffee, and juices.

The location is really good, a very short walk away (5 minutes) from most places we wanted to go to.

It was last stop of our trip to Colombia, and it was our favourite hotel. Highly recommended.

The bedroom was huge, but the bathroom was tiny (but manageable) and it took some getting use to not putting the toilet paper in the toilet, but we understood why. The breakfast was spectacular (freshly made to order) every day and the staff were great, very helpful, friendly and approachable. Two members of staff stood out. Daniel in reception, who was always willing to help with directions and recommendations to restaurants etc. Sebastien in the breakfast area, always so pleasant and his service was excellent.

It was walkable to the Clock Tower less than 5 minutes. The hotel staff were very nice and attentive. Be advised you cannot bring guest to the hotel unless they a part of your original reservation at check in. Hotel staff make this very clear, I felt very safe anyone cannot just walk into the door as it remains locked after 10 pm. The hotel staff are just a text on what's app away and they will reach you within 2 minutes. The AC works great overall great experience.

Arriving at the hotel we became a little worried because the area outside was not the best looking. But once inside the staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel itself was very clean and up to date. My room was just right and I had a balcony that overlooked the street. There wasn’t much to look at but it was good for when I just wanted to step out and get some air or some sun. The gym was small but it got the job done. The restaurant was perfecto. The food was really really good everything I ordered was delicious. Now for the not so good things. The hotel has a no visitor policy so no friends of any sort can enter the hotel with you. It kind of felt like a dorm room😂 but the upside to that is that you are allowed to add your companion to your room before you come to check in so I had no issues whenever my friend came to visit. The staff is totally loyal to this policy and I amend them all because they were offered absurd amounts of money and they stayed true to their policy😂. All and all I really enjoyed my stay. If you are single and like to mingle when you vacation it’s not the place for you.

Great hotel! Clean, stylish, comfortable, convenient location and super professional and friendly staff. I have nothing bad at all to say about my stay. I would definitely stay here on my next visit. Two things.... the front desk manager with the high puff hairstyle is absolutely gorgeous! The only thing I didn't like was that the hotel does not use/have washcloths. Breakfast was included with my room, but be sure to order things exactly how you want if you are not used to the Colombian way to cook certain items. Overall the breakfast food was not bad and the restaurant manager was VERY NICE and accommodating. I was pleasantly please that a good number of the staff was bilingual. Easy checkin. Room was very spacious. Easy walk to both the Walled City as well as Gethsemane. It was a nice long and hot walk, but we actually walked up to the CARTEGENA sign on the beach in the heat! However we took a taxi back. But that's to let you know it's doable. I definitely recommend MOOD for anyone visiting. The rate we got was amazing as well. THANK YOU!

Mood Matuna was an excellent choice for our stay in Cartagena. The staff was excellent. In particular, Marjorie and Maria made our stay very enjoyable. Their excellent hospitality, professionalism, attentiveness and sunny disposition made our trip. The rooms were very spacious and the housekeeping staff were great. When we decided to stay in the Walled City we knew that it was going to be bustling, noisy, and crowded, but that was something we wanted to experience. The Walled City is old and everything is not aesthetically pleasing, but that was not something we cared about. So, if you want to be in walking distance of Getsmani, La Gorda Gertrudis, the Clock Tower, Plaza de Santo Domingo and Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas to name a few this is a good choice. The staff was fantastic. They were very accommodating and patient with my limited ability to speak or understand Spanish. The property is located very close to the cultural parts of the city. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider if I return to Cartagena.

i love this place the only problem i had was that we were 3 person, and they gave us only 2 towels to shower, we stay only 1 night so we dint ask for but i believe that's a common sense.

I was very happy with my stay at mood matuna, staff was very friendly and very accommodating. I felt safe in the area and with lots of interesting areas to visit that is a walkable distance. There is even a small grocery store nearby if theres stuff you need for basic essential needs. They also have a restaurant that also offers room service. Food was definitely good and priced reasonably it was my go to place to eat. If i have to rate this place it would definitely be 5/5 the stay was comfortable and i was really happy of this choice for my stay. I would highly recommend staying here.

We spent four nights at the Mood Matuna Hotel. The location is perfect, a five minute walk to either the old city or Getsemaní. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was large with a king size bed and balcony.

We particularly enjoyed the included breakfast, which had a variety of interesting choices. there was also a small gym which we used each day.

My main complaint was the check-in process. We received three emails telling us we had to check in online before arriving in order to get our room code. I only received a link to check in after WhatsApping the hotel from the airport before we flew to Cartagena. The check-in process on my phone was slow and frustrating. I’m not even sure why they required it since there was a person at the desk who was happy to add my wife when we arrived.

I would still recommend the hotel highly to people looking for a comfortable place to stay that’s quiet but near everything you’ll want to see.
