The property itself is adequate and the staff is professional but not overly friendly. It’s located in a nice area of Gestemani, close to lots of bars/restaurants. The street was under construction so it was tough to navigate with luggage. The breakfast was just ok, but it’s free. As others mentioned, the music is pretty loud at night which definitely kept me up, but not my fiancée.

I had a good experience, the room was clean, customer service was friendly and helpful. They even let me leave my bags and use their lobby for awhile after I checked out. The breakfast was pretty good and the rooftop area was cool to hangout. Only thing I would complain about was the noise, you can hear Club music late night. But this was expected, it's a busy tourist area. Bring earbuds or just don't come to Colombia if music brothers you lol. Overall I thought it was great value and I look forward to visiting again.

As a platinum member I requested upgrade in my room, they didn't give it to me because according to them they are not even aware of the program. The internet didn't work in the room and cable was down too. The breakfast is bad, no options and the servers had bad attitude like if there were giving breakfast for free. It's very uncomfortable that they say you are only allowed to grab food twice from the 2 plates of food they have.

I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. My experience was extremely disappointing for several reasons:

* **Poor Room Conditions:** The rooms had visible mould and damp, creating an unpleasant and unhealthy environment. Some rooms don’t even have windows, which makes them feel very stuffy and claustrophobic.
* **Basic Utilities Unreliable:** There was no electricity for more than two days, and water was unavailable for long periods. This made the stay very uncomfortable and inconvenient.
* **Noise Levels:** The noise from both inside and outside the hotel continued until 3–4 a.m. every night, making it nearly impossible to get any rest.
* **Hidden Costs:** The hotel charges unexpected fees, such as for replacement room keys, which are only disclosed at checkout. This feels very misleading.
* **Maintenance Issues:** Many fixtures and fittings are poorly maintained — for example, toilet seats were loose and in need of repair.
* **Lack of Privacy & Security:** Street vendors are allowed to come up to the hotel and approach guests to sell items, which felt intrusive and unprofessional.

Overall, the hotel fails to provide even the most basic standards of comfort, safety, and transparency. I would not recommend Soy Local Insignia Hotel to anyone.

The hotel was great! It was clean, comfortable, and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar. The hotel is also very close to restaurants and shops. Occasionally the music in the street was quite loud, as the hotel is located in a very busy part of Getsemani. If you want to be close to where things are happening at night, this is a great hotel choice.

Great boutique hotel. Very clean and staff are very helpful and nice. The 3 Pools are small but relaxing. I enjoyed them. This is in a great neighborhood full of shops, bars, and restaurants. The downside to that is that it is very loud and you can hear the music and cars honking throughout the night until five in the morning. I had trouble sleeping a few nights because of how loud it was. The construction very early in the morning is also loud. Aside from that my overall stay was excellent.

The hotel it wasn't bad. You just gotta be careful leaving you're valuable. I left five hundred dollars 3 -$100 bills and 8-$20 bills
And 10-$100 colombian bills in the safe box, they have a keys.
And what they do is they open your box and they take just a few bills. So you won't realize that they took it in my case, they took 2 $20 dollar bills and 1 $100 Colombian bill. I guess they figured that you go there to patty. And drink and you won know what you got. So just be really careful in this place. Extremely careful wait, what you put in your safe box!

The room & bathroom were nice. The AC was definitely appreciated. The multiple pool areas & roof top bar was nice too. Lots of walkable dining options- fancy & not fancy restaurants. The hotel is in the middle of the activity- like the other reviews say, expect it to be loud (music every night until 2:30/3 am. I read the reviews before booking & was expecting it & not bothered. Hot water was iffy- it depended on the time of day. The hotter it was outside, the more guaranteed you were to have hot water. I took a shower at 10pm & didn't have much. We had a great stay & would definitely stay here again.

O funcionário que nos recebeu esta longe de ser simpático , varias vezes ignorou os cumprimentos de bom dia ou boa tarde , tive que ser insistente para me colocar num quarto melhor que alias eu escolhi e paguei na reserva ... cafe da manha muito ruim , sem opções ..quarto confortável , banheiro tbm cama enfim , o staf precisa ser treinado e capacitado a Sra que e a gerente pode buscar outra atividade pois não desempenha este papel de forma adequada ,não conhecia este hotel mesmo tenho estado em Cartagena pelo menos umas 20 viagens este não estará no meu próximo retorno e claro não pretendo indicar a ninguem , lamentavel.

Hotel good but tired.We stayed in room B301 which had french doors and these could not be locked as no key. This was raised at check in and we were told we would be supplied with the key. We stayed 4 days and no key was provided so our room was not secure. Only the rooftop pool was in use the other pools being empty

This is a great little hotel in heart of Getsemani. Good price, clean, comfy beds, rain shower in bathroom. I love those. very friendly 24 hr front desk staff. Many cambio/change places right across street. Way better rate than airport of course. Excellent location. 5-7 minute walk to Walled city. 10-15 minute walk to the castle. About 15-20 minute taxi from airport that cost around $8-10. Probably could be cheaper, but $10 was fine for a friendly safe ride. Driver wss happy to try English and liked talking with Americans. Just 1-2 streets away from \"art street\" and \"umbrella street \". Lively area with street music, tons of art, many bars (all have happy hour deals all day), restaurants of varying prices and lots of street food, my favorite 😊 IMO, way better than staying in walled city which was a little underwhelming: very touristy and overpriced restaurants. Roof top pool was small, more for soaking and cooling off than swimming. Great, though, in the hot afternoon after a full day iof walking the city and sight seeing. Very hapoy with this choice and would recommend and definitely return. Only con, a bit loud (late)because of the street music and early morning maintenance man at my neighbors. However, all the music is great, really gives CTG its awesome vibes. Reminded me a lot like French Quarter in New Orleans.

I would recommend this hotel for people that don’t mind the nightlife. It is surrounded by bars and party crowd. So yes it can be loud at night but I am a heavy sleeper and was still able to rest. Nevertheless, it is walking distance to everything. I walked to the Castillo San Felipe, to the Torre; literally everywhere. The staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast is whatever, I never truly eat at hotels so it’s personal choice. Price is great for the location.

The staff was super friendly and informative! I loved the pool on the first floor and roof top. They clean them everyday in the morning. My hotel room was so clean and had everything I needed. Everything was neat and organized. They provide breakfast in the morning which was super delicious. It is so close by Getsemani which is a beautiful area that you must explore in its entirety. Convenient stores and a pharmacy is literally around the corner so you can get all the toiletries and necessities there. The food in the area is impeccable. I couldn’t have made a better choice in picking a hotel. During my stay there I felt so welcome, taken care of, and I will be staying there again during my next visit to Cartagena.

Avoid at all costs. Hotel is next to the main party street and our room literally was the exterior of that street. The noise in the rooms is like you are in the night club until 3am with booming music. Didn’t sleep at all until 3:30am once crowds had gone too. No hot or cold water in the rooms so were given bottles to use.

The hotel is right next to many of the bars, clubs and shops. Because of this it can get loud at night if your a light sleeper. Ask for a room farthest away from the street. The people here were very nice and the breakfast was ok. But for the price you really can’t beat it. It is in a very convenient place. Walking to Walled City is no problem and your 10 minutes to all the areas of Getsemani. Would definitely stay here is again.

By day this hotel is great. It’s very pretty with plants everywhere and a great rooftop pool and bar. It includes a nice breakfast. Our room was large and bathroom was huge. Bed comfortable with good air conditioning because it’s hot in Cartagena. There are 3 small pools and lounge chairs to relax after a day of sight seeing. The location is right in the middle of Getsemaní, a busy area with lots of bars, restaurants and clubs, in close walking distance to the old city walls. You should know that this hotel is close to some large clubs and it’s noisy until 3am.

Beautiful property, tons of plants and 3 pools. Great little bar on roof with pool and great jugos! Walkable to old city (<10 min). Has a little market store around corner. Very clean, nice staff. No complaints about hotel. We had a room in the B area, so it was quieter, which we wanted.

My only complaint. DO NOT book a tour through hotel, we got ripped off. It was expensive and it what was advertised was not true. We wanted a tour with paddle boards. Rosario island had one and it was NOT usable, it was deflated, had no fin, and no SUP paddle. They used a kayak paddle and cut it off (it was too short). The kayaks didn’t have seats. They did not serve the fruit salad as advertised. The water had a ton of trash. We were told it would be calm and no party music, and they blasted annoying music, not even Colombian music. It left 1.5 hour earlier than advertised due to wind and the almost 2 hour ride back was very dangerous. The captain was a good captain, but if you get sea sick, highly advised against. This trip was a waste of time.

We had a great stay at the Soy Local Insignia! The triple room was great for 2 adults and 1 child. The website does not do justice to the pools!! There are 3 total in different locations. None was very big but still decent size. My 7 year old son loved it. It is a loud neighborhood in terms of night life so don’t stay in the area if you are expecting it to be very quiet or bring ear plugs. But we liked how much activity was right outside the door and how walkable the area is. Very nice hotel!

The place is centrally located to shops, clubs, and restaurants. It is walking distance to reloj and wall area.
Our first day, we had a lady from the cleaning service walk in on us. On the second day a stranger not even a guest open the door despite having the second lock on . They there is no hot water.

We booked it for the rooftop pool, but that ended up being very cloudy and we didn’t feel like swimming in it. There were cockroaches in our room everyday. The noise from the street next to the hotel was very loud in our room. It’s a vibrant and exciting neighborhood so some noise was expected but the volume made it hard to sleep even with earplugs.
I don’t think this is the case with all rooms, just those that share the exterior wall at street level with Carrera 10.

This small hotel is located in Getsemaní close to entertainment, and the Cartagena Convention Center. The first room they gave us was on the 2nd floor and faced the street. This is an entertainment district, but I was in town for meetings. There is a big dance hall across the street so the music went on until almost 2am. Though the musicians were skilled, I couldnt sleep. They moved us to a bigger 1st floor room and while you could still hear some of the music, it was much more bearable. BUT the problem with this room is there was no hot water. It seems only some of the rooms have hot water. This was frustrating.
The hotel staff was all very friendly, and the prices were reasonable. The rooms were very clean. The hotel is also very conveniently located - especially if you are in town for the nightlife.

El hotel está en una ubicación inmejorable para disfrutar de la oferta cultural, nocturna y gastronómica de Getsemaní. Es limpio, cómodo y muy bonito. El único inconveniente es que precisamente por estar ubicado en una zona tan movida, aún en tu habitación puedes escuchar la música de los bares alrededor hasta muy tarde. Nada grave, pero si necesitas total silencio para dormir quizá no sea la mejor opción.

Del resto fue un muy buen hotel, las instalaciones son tal y como en las fotos y el personal fue muy amable y cordial.

The hotel is in a great location. 10 minute walk to the walled city and there are tons of street food options and bars right next door. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to leave our bags while we toured the city after check-out for no additional charge. The room was small but clean. We were on the first floor facing the courtyard and we did not hear the noise from the bar too much. Cafe Havana is directly across the street so yes, it can be loud but we did not hear the noise so much that we were not able to sleep. There is no hot water. We were only staying for two nights and both days the temperature during the day was over 90 so the cool shower wasn't a huge deal but if I was staying for more than 2 nights this would have been an issue for me. We had a drink on the rooftop which was decent. The pool isn't huge, but it was nice to have a drink and watch the sunset. My biggest compliant for this hotel is that there is only a very very thin sheet on the bed. No duvet and no blankets. At night it gets really cold with the AC so I slept in leggings and a sweatshirt both nights.

It was really nice.

Room 105 is next to some bar that music was so loud as if the music speakers are in the room. It lasted till almost 2:30 in the morning

Great hotel in the middle of everything exciting! Staff was super friendly and helpful (assisted with getting our necessary covid test before departure), great rooftop bar and breakfast, and central to the Getsemani neighborhood and close to the walled city. Just be prepared for street noise 😊.

Amazing hotel, even better than the pictures, and very reasonable price for what it is. The location is amazing, very safe and touristy. No point paying 50% more to be 'more' at the heart of the walled city because inside the walled city everything is within a few minutes walk.
Really really good little gem !
