Great location walking distance to everything but a bit away from the noise and bustle of the old city centre. Having the roof top pool was great. We had a problem with our AC. They came promptly to fix when they couldn’t that moved us to a new room. Karen the customer service rep apologized many times and sent a beautiful fruit basket to our new room. Can say enough about the GHL highly recommend and we would stay again. 10/10

This is a basic hotel. Like a basic Best Western. The rooms are showing their age, with some rough walls, worn decor and fixtures. It’s clean, and it’s fine, the bed is comfortable, but it’s nothing special. The pool lining is discolored and dirty looking. The staff are very friendly and courteous, the included breakfast is a great perk. The bar service at the pool is very very slow. Overall, it was fine, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Staff was courteous and professional. The hotel is close to a street full of great restaurants at excellent prices, and just one block from the new Absolute Cigar bar. It’s within walking distance of the famous Clocktower in the old city, yet far enough away to avoid the noise. Foreign tourists will be charged 19% tax on arrival on top of the price of their stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at GHL Arsenal. From the moment we stepped in from the heat, Alfonso made our stay extra special by greeting us with a lovely welcoming smile and a cold, delicious mixed fruit drink. It was perfect timing and set the tone for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was a la carte with lots of options and the happy hour drinks helped to end the day. The rooftop infinity pool was by far, the highlight of our stay. The incredible views of Cartagena's harbour were perfect up there. All in all, Alfonso and the rest of the staff made our trip a memorable one.

The Arsenal was a very nice hotel with an excellent location in Cartagena. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also worth the money. Our only complaint was that the advertised gym wasn’t much to brag about. I would highly suggest getting out and walking around the hotel on your first day there and check everything out because there’s so much close by the hotel. Getsamani actually begins right in the back door! I would definitely recommend the arsenal for a first time stay.

The staff was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. Maria at the front desk was on point. She was so professional and friendly. Same to be said for Karen at the concierge desk. The breakfast was delicious. I had the opportunity to try exotic fruit. It was so delicious. The roof top restaurant had fabulous views of the city. We enjoyed our ceviche in this beautiful atmosphere. Our rooms were spotless. The location of this hotel was also ideal, close to the historic old town center and the hub of activities.

My stay at GHL was just what I needed away from the holiday noise in Getsemani. This was my first time visiting Colombia, and being 5 minutes walk away from the Clock tower & Walled City- the location was perfect! Breakfast was tasty, though I opted for the traditional scrambled eggs, coffee and toast. No complaints there. Rooftop pool was amazing! The views were nostalgic and it really added a nice touch to the property. The luxury room was a little smaller than I expected from the pics online; but comfortable nonetheless. I travelled with my friend celebrating her birthday who stayed nearby, so not technically solo but my lodging was. Safety wasn’t an issue for me in this area.

I had a great experience staying at GHL Arsenal Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was wonderful. The front desk team was especially helpful with recommendations for dining and sightseeing, which made my stay even better.

The rooms were very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job throughout my stay, and everything felt fresh and taken care of. I truly enjoyed the comfort of the room.

The restaurant food was very good, and the rooftop pool was a highlight. The view from the rooftop is absolutely amazing. I even worked from the rooftop during my stay and was able to enjoy the pool while getting work done, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, everyone was friendly, the service was excellent, and the hotel offered a great balance of comfort, location, and atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay and would happily return.

This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a 3.5 star at most.
Paid 2000$+ for a 6 night stay . Expecting a luxury experience for a peaceful getaway with my wife, but kept on getting met with disappointments and let downs. Staff does not pay attention to detail and are very forgetful. A feel of carelessness was felt from a few members of staff (not all) which is unfortunate. Building and decor is full of flaws and mildew . From the stained couch next to the elevator to the mildew stained ceilings leading up to your room and also not forgetting the blood stained sheets. They will dim the lights so the flaws dont show so much.
Not even the light bulb in the elevator can be bothered to be replaced. This place will Charge you premium prices for a low quality experience.

We had a wonderful vacation in beautiful Cartagena, but this would not have been possible at any hotel other than GHL Arsenal.
This hotel is the best: the rooms are well maintained, clean, and smell wonderful.
The location is perfect, just a few minutes' walk (8 min) from the walled city, the same for the most attractive part of Getsemaní, and about a 14-minute walk from the marina where the boats depart.
The service is excellent from all the staff, who are friendly and courteous. I would like to give a special mention to Pomponio, an extremely kind and helpful gentleman who treated us wonderfully, thank you!
Note: The breakfast buffet is out of this world. As you can see in the video, that's how it tastes.

Pay 5 stars and get 3.

That is a 5 star hotel supposedly, but I’ve been to 3 star hotels that were better.
The A/C in my room wasn’t working properly, no matter how high you’d set the temperature, the room was always freezing.
The shower head was spilling water all around, except down below. The shower drain was also too small, making any 5 minutes shower become a pool.
The breakfast was poor in options, some days there was someone pouring coffee at your table, some days not. The fruits were kind of flavourless, and the last day there was just one type of cheese(the one nobody wanted the day before).
The rooms were clean late afternoon, almost the time we were coming back from tours and walks, the room floors were usually left soak and wet excessively and just one towel was left for me and my wife.
The proximity to the Walled City is good, but that also brings a lot of noise. They were having concerts every night at the “Pegasus Muelle”, with loud music.
I wouldn’t say it’s the worst ever, but for the price paid it should be better.

The amazing staff is what makes this property great. Fabian is a huge asset to this hotel always going out of his way for guests , communicating and assisting. He is absolutely top level and future upper management. All staff smile and greet and create a welcoming experience Ledis (camarera), Faber (Mantenimiento), Katherine (recepción), Maria Fernanda (restaurante), stood out with attention to detail and going out of their way for guests daily.

This hotel is super clean. The staff is super friendly. It was my friend’s birthday and the staff went up the room with a cake and sang Happy birthday. That was a very nice surprise! The room was very clean upon arrival. The staff were all accommodating. The room is perfect for a solo traveler. Only thing I disapprove of was being unaware that you had to pay for eating from the minibar. I grabbed a water and was later charged at checkout. This should be included in room information. Otherwise, my stay at GHL Arsenal was great.
