I had a LOVELY stay at Hotel Casa La Mantilla by Faranda Boutique. The staff was friendly and inviting and helped me with my bags to my room due to there not being an elevator (if you cannot easily walk up stairs you may want to reconsider staying here).

As soon as I arrived I enjoyed the quaint pool surrounded by tropical plants...super refreshing in the Cartagena heat!

My room had a queen bed and a balcony facing the street. The room was clean, modern, and inviting. The sink and shower both had hot water and they offered washcloths which was harder to come by in Cartagena at hotels than I thought! The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the views from the balcony. However I should have closed the storm doors on the balcony to block out the street noise. I also found the hallways of the hotel to be noisey likely due to the building being from the colonial period, however once folks were in their rooms I could not hear any noise through the walls thankfully.

The front desk also helped me to book a last minute beach excursion to Sabai Beach Club via Cosa Viva Tours (highly recommend!! wonderful experience!).

I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay here again!

Lovely room, incredibly gracious staff. Reasonable amount of English most of the time. I'm a Spanish speaker, but my traveling companions are not, so this was appreciated when I wasn't at hand. Would definitely stay here again. Close to everything, but not right next to the clubs where you can't sleep. Excellent.

Overall, a great property I like the fact that they’re security most hotels have this and one big bonus. Is that literally on the right of the building there’s a shop where you can buy snacks drinks, alcohol, and all other stuff without needing to go to one of those shopping centers, so that’s a definite plus The thing I didn’t like though is that my room didn’t have a table that I could get any work. I was basically stuck on my bed or had to sit on this little chair that really wasn’t comfortable. I had to book a different hotel. My initial flight was one month out. I only booked three days initially at this hotel just the kind of gazed the vibe if I liked it, I was going to extend it or if I didn’t like it I was gonna just find a different hotel unfortunately I didn’t like the fact that it was literally no no table and chair for me to sit down on so you know unless I’m walking outside or engaging in activities I don’t I don’t want to just I just want to be able to do more than sleep in my hotel apart from that overall great atmosphere overall you know they check security if you invite someone over they’re gonna get their ID one thing that they didn’t tell me the way that you can’t you can’t invite unknown guest over without paying 300,000 pesos. I had to push back a little bit on that but eventually they budged because it was the same person even though it’s the same price for one or two guests you have to let them know where they’re gonna try to squeeze an extra 300,000 pe

El hotel está bien ubicado, no obstante creo que por el precio se puede conseguir uno mucho mejor, los cuartos no estaban 100% limpios, cocteles no venden, el hotel es súper básico. La atención del equipo bueno y lo único que sobresale.

We absolutely loved our stay. You can’t beat the location. Walkable to everything. All the best coffee and food within one or two blocks. Feels extremely safe. Beautiful inside. The breakfast was amazing every morning and the staff were all so accommodating and kind. Would definitely recommend!

Hotel staff were very nice and location was great. The room itself was comfortable, however the bathroom was pretty small. We also didn’t have any hot water during our 4 night stay so that was unpleasant. The breakfast was also not great - the most edible options were the eggs that they can make any style and the fruit assortment (luckily there are plenty of cafes nearby). The staff were very helpful and friendly - they booked any taxis that we needed and let us know the price the taxis will charge. Overall, would have enjoyed the stay more with hot water and highlight of the stay is definitely the location / friendly staff.

El hotel es muy céntrico, ubicado dentro de la ciudad amurallada es muy seguro y se puede caminar a todas partes. Hay un supermercado al lado lo que es muy conveniente y tiendas para hacer compras y restaurantes. Las personas que trabajan son muy serviciales y amables, siempre con una sonrisa. Los desayunos son muy buenos y están incluidos.

I stayed in the premium room with pool view, very quiet, very clean, matress was comfortable, amazing architecture, hotel was very well kept, clean, quiet. Very good location in the center of everything but not noisy. I will def come back to this hotel

Fantastic Hotel in Cartagena

The staff at Hotel Casa La Mantilla could not have been any nicer or helpful. The hotel is ideally located in the old city near many terrific restaurants. I would definitely stay there again and recommend staying there to others.

The staff was extremely hospitable and ensured I enjoyed my stay. My room was always clean and refreshed. The pool area was clean and the food that was prepared by the chef was delicious. I loved the location of the hotel, I was a minutes walk from most of the sites and 15 minute walk from Getsemaní. I would definitely stay at this hotel again because it had such a family feel to it and they treated me like family.

Highly recommend- great all round accommodation

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was beautiful and well maintained throughout my stay. Also the balcony views was a nice way to start my day. I really appreciated the staff at Casa La Mantilla. Giovanny, one of the front desk staff, was really helpful when I was looking for recommendations for food options or excursions. Also the team that supported breakfast in the morning were very kind and helpful.

I loved that this hotel is very centrally located. I could walk to everything in the old city. It was close enough to the action that I was no more than a 5 minute walk, but far enough away that if I wanted to rest it wasn't loud on my actual street. I would definitely stay here again!

My stay at Casa La Mantilla was great. The hotel itself is inside the city wall within walkable distance to food and entertainment. I felt safe at all time. It’s perfect for romantic or solo travel. The staff is very hospitable, which made my stay even better. I did have a mishap with no hot water the first day, however management had a quick resolution and move me to a different room. If you have knee issues, you may problems getting to and from room since no elevator. The breakfast was ok. Altogether, I enjoyed my stay and will be back if I ever decide to visit the city again.

I stayed a full week at Casa de La Mantilla, and it was so serene. The hotel staff are all extremely polite, helpful, and accommodating. Every morning there was a breakfast buffet and additional breakfast items were available for ordering as well. I enjoyed exploring the hotel. There is a beautiful rooftop space that overlooks the surrounding areas and it is very beautiful. There is also a Jacuzzi on the rooftop, which is nice. This property has a pool as well, however, I didn’t make it to the pool during this trip. The rooms were very beautiful with the balcony, and I truly enjoyed stepping out on the balcony every day to overlook the streets below me. The housekeeping was amazing and our rooms were very clean. The housekeeper also provided us with extra linens and towels that we needed throughout the duration of our stay. Every staff member at Casa de la Mantilla provides top tier service. Kevin was assisting us in the mornings with breakfast, he was phenomenal!
All in all I had a wonderful stay at Casa De la Mantilla and I would definitely return again.

Beautiful hotel but read the fine print!!

This boutique hotel was exactly what we were looking for. It's located in the old city, right in the midst of fantastic restaurants, music venues, coffee shops, museums, and more.

The small hotel boasts a \"Moorish\" design with white plaster walls and stunning custom decor, a rarity in North American hotels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful in arranging tours, recommending restaurants, coffee shops, museums, and more. The front desk personnel spoke very clear English, which was always helpful.

However, I must mention one issue that greatly upset us during our stay. We met up with a friend of a friend, a tour guide in Cartagena, who joined us at the hotel for a drink and to share some photos of our trip to Hungary. Upon leaving for dinner with said friend, the front desk agent (just doing his job) informed us of a $300,000 pesos charge (about $100) for having an unregistered guest in our room. The hotel was adamant about this charge, even though it was mentioned in our guest information, all in Spanish, with no explicit explanation of this peculiar policy. Needless to say, we were not happy about this unexpected charge. It's unfortunate that such cash grabs are commonplace for certain hotels in Colombia, and it significantly tainted our overall experience.

Front office staff absolutely amazing. Rooms are amazing and the pools are super clean. The only wrinkle is the Morning Restaurant staff, the ladies do not look happy working there. You can tell by the way the deliver your food and their attitudes are written all over their face.

Please be aware going in that you’re staying in a building erected in the 1600s. For me, that was part of the charm. The owner and the staff are all pleasant and welcoming! No elevators but staff is eager to transport your luggage. Two pools, both tiny but I had them all to myself. Try to avoid the Luisa room. The hotel’s neighbours hold pool parties right outside your window. One party STARTED at 3am! Other than that, a very pleasant stay inside the walled city!

Great hotel in the city center

A very beautiful place, has two pools which are very small though but if you need to refresh yourself it is enough. The bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was super clean and the staff very friendly. Breakfast which is included in the price was also very delicious. The location is perfect, right in the city center.

THE HOTEL STAY IN CARTEGENA

I very much enjoyed staying at the hotel. I was with two friends, who stayed in another room. It was very impressed with the staff. Gina, at the front desk was very helpful with helping to get rides to places we needed to go. She also speaks English, which helps with people like me who are not very knowledgeable with Spanish. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and one of the restaurant waitresses knew I liked coffee early, before breakfast, so she started bringing me my coffee to my room. Very nice.

The room smelled moldy and was really hard to regulate the temperature. Also, the property threatened to cancel our reservation unless we paid in advance (unlike stated in the Expedia reservation) and provided a credit card. Then, upon checkout, we had them arrange transportation for us to the airport in advance and while telling us “it’s hard to get taxis” as we are waiting they gave our taxi to another guest who just came and asked for a taxi, when we had requested a car for 15 minutes prior (in the morning).
