I saw the mid range review and had doubts, especially considering the value, but can vouch 10/10 this location is superb and I cannot believe pricing for a single room. Management is off site and there were a few things I needed help with but the manager responded within 15 min. Absolutely will stay here again. Great style, unbelievable location and affordable prices for a hip Seattle neighborhood.

24 hour access, quiet building, hot showers, colorful neighborhood, just be careful you don't lock yourself out. I'd actually highly recommend this hostel for fair fares and it's accessibility on the metro. 95/100.

To access the building you get a door code and to enter your room you also get a door code. There is no elevator so when you walk in you go straight up a set of stairs. Our room was good it had a mini fridge in it, electric kettle, king bed, twin bed, small desk, sink, and a sitting chair. The room was slightly outdated but nothing terrible. The bed was comfortable. We chose the room with a shared bathroom and I was very surprised at the cleanliness and size of the bathrooms. There are two bathrooms both with locking doors that show when they are occupied. Each was updated with tile floors and walls and they had nice walk in showers. The kitchen area that is also a shared area was also very nice and updated with what looked to be new flooring and appliances. There were pots and pans and a large fridge.
We did not have a vehicle as we used taxis but parking may be tricky as I didn’t see a parking area in front.
The location was great as well. There are several places within walking distance such as a pub, pizza place, sushi, Vietnamese, Indian, ice cream, and a burger shop.
Overall it is a great place and we felt safe. Would highly recommend it to others and we would stay here again for sure.

The rooms stink like sewer and mold. The price was $200 online when I booked, and then I saw the same room offered for $60 the day of. There's no one there to help, and the key code locks barely work. It was creepy and a total rip off. There are also homeless people everywhere in this neighborhood who are very aggressive.

Great cheap place to stay! I didn't like how the bed was right next to the window, though, where the curtain wasn't long enough to cover the light shining into my face at night. I had to put a pillow by the window just to block the light. The communal bathroom is okay, although I think they need new doors because they are so hard to close and lock.

We were booked into a King room but arrived to 2 single beds. There is no onsite check-in but contact phone number was extremely responsive and quickly moved us to a new room. But getting to have a peek at the room with 2 beds we were extremely grateful we booked a king. The single room was extremely barebones and the single beds seemsed a little rickety. Our King bed was very comfortable. Still a very barebones room but has everything you need. Shared bathrooms were very clean (pack your own toileties!). Check in and check out were super easy and the location literally cannot be beat. In the heart of downtown Fremont near shops, restaurants, water front, farmers market. The best that Seattle has to offer. Having the room be a little basic isn't a problem because you'll be out enjoying Fremont and Ballard anyhow. I will note I imagine the room getting really hot in the summer. Its an old building. Each room has a small, free standing AC unit, but I don't think that that would be enough to truly keep things cool on the hottest days.

This place is a best kept secret: wonderful location for a visitor, and ridiculously cheap. Pros: Location is safe, a very vibrant part of the city, tons of restaurants and bus lines and natural beauty right there. The place itself is simple, spartan, but stylish. Not a hostel but a European style hotel/guesthouse with shared bathrooms. Cons: If you wanted your own bathroom, nope. If you wanted to make friends with backpackers like at a youth hostel, likely nope.

Was disappointed in my stay having read the reviews before booking.

The front door to the building stays open for a few minutes after you enter the code, so anyone on the street can easily just open and close the front door to the hostel as they please, and since there isn’t anyone at the front desk (or wasn’t the entire time we visited) there’s really nothing stopping someone just wandering around the place if they wanted.

Our room (room 7) was directly above a restaurant, so every night and morning we got to hear them loudly rearranging their furniture.

The portable AC in the window meant having to keep it open, on an already pretty loud street. And the electric heater in the bedroom that I needed to use one night fell over in the middle of the night because its legs were broken.

The shower was cold. So I used the other bathroom the next day. It was also cold.

In the end, I booked a stay at a hotel for my final night and didn’t bother staying the full time. Not that we were missing much because the hostel was completely devoid of any life or buzz. In my opinion, avoid.

Always a pleasure. This is my second time, and will not be my last. Super secure and clean and staff is super responsive. Thanks Chris! Xoxo. Super basic, but that’s what I like. It was a clean room with two twin beds and a sink with a mirror and fridge. Super basic. If you have food left over, like produce, you can leave it in the fridge for someone to enjoy. Bathrooms are community, but well maintained, updated and again basic. They provide clean towels. Again super lovely to stay, quiet.. and awesome guests. I feel at home here. Can’t wait to come back soon.

I’m writing regarding several issues we experienced during our recent stay at this hotel, which left us quite disappointed.

First, we specifically booked (and paid extra for) a room with a private bathroom outside the room. However, upon arrival, we discovered the bathroom was shared. We have since reviewed the booking confirmation again, and while the wording may not have been explicit, we are certain this was not the accommodation we reserved.

Second, when we asked about modifying our check-out date, we were informed there would be an additional charge due to a rate change. We understand policies may apply, but this was not clearly mentioned in the cancellation or modification terms provided at the time of booking, which made the situation frustrating.

Finally, the booking confirmation also mentioned that bathrobes would be included during the stay, but none were provided.

Individually, these may seem minor, but together they significantly affected our overall experience and gave us the impression that the accommodations and services provided did not fully match what was advertised or expected.

Requested early check-in and they were very lenient about it. Only issue was that they didn’t have my room ready by the time I requested, but they were still able to put me in a different one (which was only supposed to be 1 twin bed) but it ended up being the twin and and a king bed! Room was very nice and spacious, and the shared bathroom was very clean.

There were leftovers in the mini fridge from whoever previously stayed there. The room was extremely warm despite the common areas being air conditioned. I was in town for a concert, and when I returned around midnight it seemed that all outlets had stopped working. Meaning the fridge had no power, the ac unit had no power, and I was not able to charge my phone or laptop. The power did not return until around 8:30 in the morning.
Despite this, the bed was fairly comfortable and the bathroom was very nice.

In a really central and fun area of Fremont. The spot was great for what it was—historic chic and relatively clean for a hostel.

Only complaint was that the mobile radiator put out very little heat. The huge rooms get super cold in the 30-40 degree weather and could have used thicker (or an extra stash of) blankets in the lockers.

What a cool “step back in time” place to stay. My room had a nostalgic water radiator for heat more comfortable heating than forced air. My king sized bed was comfortable & the room had a mini fridge, hot pot for boiled water and a desk with a chair. Bathrooms were very clean and lockable so you can shower or use the toilet with privacy. The Tia restaurant next door was incredible! This was a convenient location for me and a great value. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience.

We loved the location, and parking was fairly easy. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Our biggest issue with this property was the overwhelming smell of cleaning supplies. We opened the windows to aerate our room for several hours, but our clothes and even our personal water bottles reeked of the over saturation of cleaning agents. Perhaps the staff aren’t properly diluting what they are using.

Very good location and building. The only thing that needs attention is that I'm the room I had the bathroom sink was in the living room, which was fine, but the room was painted black and there was no outlet or light above the sink. However, the shared bathroom was just across the hall so I went there to do my hair and make up
Also this room smelled like cigarette smoke, which I think they must have noticed bc the window was open, but it still reeked of smoke, there was no Lysol or anything to help displays the smell.
I would still stay here again.

Good price for the area very close to everything we wanted to do. Stayed multiple nights and found parking right near the entrance every night. Nightlife is a bit noisy but nothing crazy. The room was good bed was comfy I liked the individual sink inside the room. And the bathrooms were always available when we needed them since there was multiple.

The room was great .the shower head in the bathroom across from room 4 was leaking so no water pressure.there was a woman there with 2 young’s girls who were up early and in the communal kitchen and they were very loud very early in the morning so I got woke up .

Loved the original aesthetics of the building. It was obviously very old, but well kept. It was quiet and convenient. Parking was a little tricky- would be nice to have that info upon booking. The Pros:
The room was nice, the kitchen is big and clean, and the white-tiled bathrooms are exquisite. They are always clean, no matter the time of day. And the towels? They're thick and a bright white., and there is no shortage of them.

The con:
There was a woman there with several very young girls--I think she might have been staying lomg-term--who made my stay less enjoyable. She wasn't very nice and she allowed the girls to run up and down the halls screaming until past 10pm. And she left poopy diapers out in the hall so that she didnt have to smell them but everyone else did.

If you enjoy shopping and consider yourself a foodie, you'd be in heaven. Hotel Hotel is located near a bunch of shops and restaurants. And if you're feeling adventurous, there's a tartoo shop right below it.

I got a lot of value out of what I paid--I just wish that woman took up residence elsewhere! When you stay here she might be gone though.

The \"staff\" was non-existent, but the manager (owner?), Chris, was very responsive to any potential difficulties. If there's ever another event in the Fremont District of Seattle, this will be one of the first places I'll check.

When i firsr walked into the room the first thing i noticed was the bed wasn't made. I was confused for a minute and then realized that it's a hostel. I guess this is normal, right? I dont know. So I had to take the sheets off and used towels for sheets. I didnt know that maids dont come through to make up the room. Is this normal? Anyways, everything else was fine.

The Good: Check-in and access to the building and my room were very easy and convenient. The room and shared bathroom were clean and attractive. The neighborhood is fantastic & very lively on the weekends.
The Bad: I wasn't expecting high-end hotel luxury, but the king size bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the bedframe through the very thin mattress, it felt like sleeping on an old fold-out couch.
Overall, the good outweighed the bad, and it was worth the relatively low price. I would stay here again, but I would hope the bed quality could be improved.

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I texted and called the number that the hotel provided with questions and I never received a text back. I would have assumed that it was a one-off, but while I was there, another guest who had a reservation was stuck outside. When I asked him if he needed help, he said that he had never heard back from the hotel staff to get his code for entry or room assignment. When I checked in on him about an hour later, he was still waiting to hear back and was considering having to sleep in the lobby.

I stayed here many years ago when the hostel was a lot more functional than it is currently. Now, there's no staff on-site, so it's impossible to have any problems dealt with. Our room had a broken window and smelled like wet dog/stagnant water the whole time. They offered us an air freshener for that but never delivered it. The property also advertises \"private bathrooms\" with the private rooms... however, the bathrooms are down the hall and not protected by lock or key code, which means everyone is free to use them regardless of whether they paid for a private room or not. When raising each of these issues (via text - because again, there's not a soul there) they said \"it's a hostel\" as if that means they don't need to worry about basic standards of cleanliness and privacy.
