Seul bémol à notre séjour…les odeurs dans l’ascenseur et la salle à manger en bas. On avait l’impression qu’il y avait une permanente odeur d’égouts, parfois plus forte, parfois un peu moindre mais toujours présente.
En dehors de cet aspect tout était parfait.
Excellente situation géographique pour se promener partout!

Everything was excellent! I think for Tokyo, room was a really good size. Very clean and modern. No cigarette smell that many people have stated. Great location, nice quiet neighbourhood but right next to metro station! Brilliant breakfast, no noise, great price for Tokyo can't recommend enough!

The rooms were very small, but honestly, based on my wife’s knowledge of Japan, that was to be expected. It is a very high populated area, and space is very limited. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly. The place was clean. The rooms only get cleaned, every three days. Not good for people with small children. My only complaint is that all of the TV stations are broadcasted in Japanese. That was not cool.

Nice very cordial staff who speak English. Hotel is in a nice location. Only down is the Room size but if you are alone, it is kind of a cute and compact room with everything you may need. What i liked most is the Free open buffet breakfast. Lots of options to eat in the morning, whether is is Western food or Oriental. Liked also the fact that Towels were being handed to me everyday in a bag hanging on my door. A useful thing would have been an actual working and efficient AC in the room for when it gets really hot. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

My husband and I could only book a smoking room--but our room surprisingly did not smell like smoke. It still smelled fresh. The only place we smelled smoke was when we got off elevator on our floor. The room was clean and we liked that there was kettle and fridge in the room .
The staff were exceptionally very friendly and helpful. We liked that we could help ourselves to some toiletries we needed during our stay. We also enjoyed the teas we can make in our room.
The staff were very helpful in arranging our luggage transfer to another hotel.
Overall, we would stay here again and highly recommend to others.

I really loved this hotel, my only qualm is that it is extremely tiny and it was hard to find enough space to put all my hygienic, cosmetic, and clothing products out and easily accessible. A lot of packing and unpacking for the sake of space. Everything else was amazing. The space felt safe, there are multiple convenient stores and a pharmacy near by, as well as a handful of dining options!

Overall, i will give them 3 out of 5 stars. Why?
Here are the reasons.
The thing that i liked about this hotel was that it was close to train stations, convenient stores, restaurants, and 15 mins walk from the Nagoya Castle. the room is pretty ok size. Has there own restaurant in the bottom basement floor.

The dislike about this hotel was the day we checked in, and it was about at 11pm. An older gentleman staff member at the front counter was helping us. I felt like he was upset about something. I don't know what, but the way he talked to us and the way he helped us was not very friendly. Also, our Expedia travel package included breakfast. How did i know? So the next morning, my son and i went to the front counter to ask one of the staff members( different person) and i said if my Expedia travel package includes breakfast. She double checked my liter if the breakfast

I like the convenient location of this hotel and the price, so I have stayed here several times. It is also convenient that they don't have daily cleaning in the room, and they only deliver towels every 3 days.
The receptionists are also very polite and kind. I hope they will have more non-smoking rooms in the future.

My first time in Japan I accidentally left my phone in the back of my taxi. Fortunately, the wonderful staff at Smile Hotel Tokyo Nihonbashi were able to call the number on the taxi receipt and arrange for the driver to return to the hotel. I was able to retrieve my phone and enjoy the rest of my stay.

10/10 would recommend this hotel to everyone. Also, the all you can eat breakfast at the restaurant down stairs is delicious.

The hotel is very convenient as it's very near the Tokyo metro and there's a convenience store nearby. Its location is also near most areas so it's easy to get around. However the experience staying there for me wasn't great and the walls are thin so if you're a light sleeper this isn't the hotel for you. It's a decent stay if you're not fussy due to the ideal location but there are better hotels out there for around the same price.

The stay went well. There is a Lawson right next door, very convenient. There are late night food chains nearby. Please note that the entrance has stairs, so you have to carry your suitcase. Not very accessible. They have a table area in the lobby but unfortunately you can't eat there.

Old hotel at good location

Steps away from the subway! Multiple convenience stores around and a great sake bar nearby! This a cheaper, but also older hotel. That means things are not shiny and new. There's stains, mold in corners, burn marks, etc. It was still clean, but some things are worn and aged. Being an older hotel however, means the rooms are quite bigger than most other newer hotels! They also provided two pillows per bed, which is not something we saw at other Japanese hotels.
We made the mistake of booking a smoking room because there were no non-smoking rooms available anymore. This is on us, not the hotel, but the smell was extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable to bear. We got a couple of car air fresheners and clipped them to the air purifier in the room and that really really helped! (Opening the window and running the air purifier on its own did nothing)

Smile Hotel Tokyo Nihonbashi was a great budget hotel for me and my partners needs. We wanted to save on hotels because we were spending most of our time out the hotel, exploring. The bed fit both of us and was perfectly fine, there was AC and the option to open the window which i enjoyed and didn't have the option of at our previous 3 hotels. The location is very convenient for hopping on multiple subway lines and there were many convenience stores around. Because the location is central I believe we heard more emergency vehicles than any other stay during our trip, it didn't wake us up, but if you are a light sleeper that is something to consider. The hotel is a bit aged, which didn't take away any amenities, but you can see a number of scuffs on the wall from previous inhabitants. They also don't use keycards, but a physical key on a hotel key chain. I would not say that the hotel is dirty, however when we were packing up, I did a thorough inspection to make sure we didn't leave anything behind and there was a good amount of trash/dropped items and dust between the built-in desk edge and the wall, I understand that it is a very difficult spot to clean and retrieve things, but it wasn't the best sight. There was also a faint smell of smoke in our smoke-free room, but my asthmatic partner did not feel uncomfortable in it, they did notice it though. Overall a great budget stay, nothing fancy, but cheap, clean, and comfortable!

The property was very poorly maintained. The windowsill's paint was chipping and flaking off like it hadnt been painted or maintained by the management in years. Scuff marks on the walls. The comforter was filled with stains. The room its self was very small, which is fine but the walls and doors were so thin you could hear everything going on in neighboring rooms and the hallway. The worst part was the road noise, which basically sounded like the windows were open. Overall,the rooms seem to be in dire need of upgrading/maintenance. I would not recommend, avoid would avidly avoid for a multi night stay.

I liked this hotel. I had room #664 and it was pretty small but it worked well for me as I’m traveling solo. The bed was hard but I liked it, the pillows are. Stuffed with beads or something, not sure but it was kind of hard for my liking but I folded one my hoodies on it and it was fine. This is not vacation hotel so don’t expect a lot. Check in was easy and quick. The staff were all helpful when asking questions. Housekeeping only cleans the rooms every three days of your stay but they do provide fresh towels and hang them on your door for you.

The hotel is in a business district so not a lot of excitement going on in the neighbors. Just a 2 minute walk outside of the hotel is the Kayabacho station and that’ll help you get to any destination you need to go to. Tokyo station is about a 20 minute walk, real easy with no hills so if you don’t want to walk there use the Kayabacho station outside the hotel. There’s a cafe, restaurant and convenient store next to the hotel, store is 24hrs and a 711 across the street.

I would return again and stay here because it’s budget friendly and good for solo travelers.

The rooms were very small compared to American standards. Having said that, they were clean and accommodating. In-room slippers were provided as well as typical amenities (hair dryer, water kettle, toothbrush/paste). Nice breakfast buffet in the basement restaurant. Pay for the buffet at the hotel front counter. Lobby is spacious, but no eating/drinking allowed. Many electrical outlets available. Now,back to the size of the room, we found it very small. Not large enough to open our luggage on the floor - we needed to place the luggage on the bed to open. OK for a short time, but two people need to work around each other to make the room work. Still a good value for the price.
