I don't even know where to start with our stay, it was a disaster. 2 days before our arrival we were notified that on our day of check out the water would be turned off for the entire hotel at 8:00AM. I asked if there was any compensation for this, and nothing AT ALL was done. They said that they would provide bottled water. (not sure that will help with showers).

Upon arrival the lady couldn't figure out my reservation (that I had already paid for through hotels.com) and charged me 5 different times for the stay and deposit. YES THAT IS CORRECT I HAD 5 FULL STAY CHARGES on my card. It has been over a week and I am still trying to get one of the charges off.

The actual hotel was nice and clean, and if it wasn't for the people that work there, I may return. I am sorry but you need to do better Stateview Hotel, when you take water away at 8:00AM until 4PM, you need to give SOME kind of compensation. Some people in our party were not even notified of this issue .

THEN when you realize you have OVER charged a customer 5 times, you should more than likely contact them and I dont know, APOLOGIZE?

This is something that their higher ups should know about because if I am not the only person that has had problems, they are loosing potential customers in the future.

They cut the water off 3 hours before my check out. I had to check out early, drive across town, and pay to park so I could take a shower at my son’s apartment. The hotel itself is usually nice- quiet and clean and comfortable-, but the front desk staff is not very welcoming. One male employee helped me with the parking app, but that was the only person who even bothered to speak to me when checking in (other than to ask for my credit card).

The hotel is super nice except when I woke up this morning there was absolutely no water running in the entire hotel. No shower capability, no sink water, nothing. I found out later that it was a scheduled water shut off and there was no communication at the booking of the hotel or prior to check-in. Even at checking into the hotel, no staff mentioned anything about it. There was no discount. I would have absolutely stayed somewhere else had I known. They took the reservation and money and never said a word about the water being scheduled off from the hotel or Expedia.

We arrived to check in and were told the hotel would have no water starting at 8am the next morning, until 4pm. I am very disappointed we had no advanced warning of this and the best the front desk could do was say they are sorry. After contemplating not checking in and finding another hotel, they offered to validate our parking. That’s it. It was late so we ended up staying and will just get moving way earlier than planned.

This is the second time we stayed here. It has become a Christmas tradition for me and my spouse. We would like to come every year. The room is very clean, neat and lovely. We usually have a view of the lake which is nice. Coffee in the AM is an extra treat. The staff at the front desk is always helpful. The only thing I noticed this time was a charge for the parking. That was new and unexpected. Not sure why that changed. All else was wonderful!

Upon my check in to the hotel, I was charged an additional 161.00 that I was told would be refunded. I was told by the receptionist that the charge was for an incidental fee, and have yet to receive my refund. On top of that, we drove separately and had to pay additional parking fees. I felt misguided, as I recieved a follow up email from a [email protected] who never responded when I inquired about my refund.
I’m glad they didn’t charge us for additional towels and blankets! Never again!

I had such a wonderful experience at The StateView Hotel in Raleigh! The hotel was clean, modern, and beautifully maintained. The view from our room was absolutely stunning, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. My daughter was celebrating her birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special — everyone was friendly, professional, and welcoming.

We started to head downtown for dinner but decided to check out Flask & Beaker located right downstairs — and I’m so glad we did! The food did not disappoint. I had the salmon, my daughter had steak, and both dishes were amazing. The waitress provided excellent service, and the Mule I ordered was honestly the best one I’ve had so far.

I did have a small issue with the hold on my card, but it was resolved and didn’t take away from how great the entire experience was. I would absolutely recommend The StateView Hotel to anyone visiting Raleigh and can’t wait to come back!

I have stayed here many times. It’s always clean and quiet. I didn’t feel like the current staff was very friendly- they didn’t do anything wrong, but other places I have stayed in the past year have been more welcoming. Also, I was annoyed that they now charge for parking. It’s not a garage, so I don’t see a reason for suddenly charging when it’s been free before. Total money grab for no reason.

Front desk was not as welcoming to me when I arrived and seemed annoyed. I wanted a breezy friendly check in after my 8 hour drive. On top of this, the TV was not working upon arrival and had to call the front desk multiple times, a fire alarm test happened during my stay, and the elevators were not working!! I also had to pay for parking. For the price I paid it was 100% not worth it! I've stayed in budget hotels with better customer service!

The two things that I wasn't crazy about is that I ordered extra towels that never came and I thought the parking situation was very inconvenient. Especially since it cost $24 to park for the night and then had to walk a pretty far distance to get to the hotel and back again the next day.

I was disappointed with this hotel. I selected it because it was an Autograph Collection hotel, which I thought meant top quality. The air conditioning did not work in our room. The first morning, the water in the shower did not get hot. We requested a different room and a refund for the first night. The staff did both. The second room was better, but the AC still not work very well. The hallways were also quite warm. The hotel restaurant was just okay. This hotel was a disappointment. It was close to the NC State campus, but still can't recommend the property.

We stayed here over the weekend and I was pretty disappointed. Could not sleep due to so much noise from above and sides. Made a complaint about it and all they had to say was sorry for the inconvenience.

Key cards did not work for pool and they claimed to have table tennis, horseshoes, etc but when I asked they say they would call someone to get it and over an hour of waiting my son and I just called it a night.

Rooms were clean. But everything else was horrible. We ended up checking out a day early because of the noise and no help.

Would not recommend this place to anyone

I come here because it is a quiet,beautiful property with lots of parking (included). My favorite part is the pool, and especially like that the pool entrance is on the lower level. My only complaint this trip was that there were no dry towels when I was finished swimming. Probably it was just a busy weekend.

It’s June, it’s hot. It should be made clear your pool is under maintenance before booking. Did not find out until I read the little sign on reception front desk. I specifically picked this hotel for the outdoor pool. Paid more than I needed to because of the pool. Front desk did not care that this was an issue.

After school year, late spring stay was quiet and serene in these beautiful surroundings.

The place is awesome calm surrounded by trees smell good inside the hotel, employees are very friendly, the thing that I don’t like is when we check out they asked me if I need receipt to be printed or email, I said printed, but they said the Expedia is the one who will send me receipt , they gave me two option why they didn’t do it ! I want to find out if they billed my credit card , because it’s all paid off through Expedia,

This hotel is way out there—like, really out there. I remember seeing another review mention it, but wow... they weren’t kidding. It’s near a lake, but don’t expect any great views. From my room, all I could see was a giant white roof, which was a major letdown. If school is in session, I am guessing would be a nightmare to get around as it is on the campus.

I paid over $300 per night after taxes, and honestly, that’s outrageous for what you get. I recently stayed at a beautiful spot in Nashville for less, and the quality there far surpassed this.

I was really looking forward to cooling off in the pool since it was so hot—but the water was super cloudy and just looked dirty. Definitely not inviting. Also, the bar and food service doesn’t start until 5:30 PM, which is a problem when you’re so far removed from everything else. The food itself was just okay, though the drinks were solid.

The room didn’t feel clean. There was pink mold in the shower and visible dirt in several spots. Some of the towels were so worn out they should honestly be repurposed as rags. The bed was uncomfortably hard, and the pillows reminded me of the kind you find at your mom’s house from 30 years ago—not in a good way.

The photos make this place look way nicer than it actually is. For the price, I expected so much more.
