My closet overhead light caught on fire. They tried to dismiss it like it was nothing.
The lock on the door had been previously broken into.
Television was not working and small bugs observed near window.
Mold painted over in ceiling.
I have NOT received my 100.00 deposit.

The room was your average room. But the mattress was HORRIBLE! On one side it had a sunken hole in it. I called the first desk. They couldn't replace the mattress but offered to switch me rooms. I explained I had reservations and needed to leave out could I do it when I came back. They said no
They couldn't guarantee I would have a room upon my return. We ended up staying in the room, only to find out later that nighr that our room which was on the 17th floor and apparently near the elevator shaft. All I heard was the elevator going up and down all night. I have learned that just because a hotel has a 4 or 5 star rating doesn't mean that it is a superior hotel.

The hotel was close to all event I was attending. The in house restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times and they kept fresh chocolate chip cookies in the lobby!!!!

my first was not in good condition the bathroom was out dated. Heat never warmed room, room had no hot water, air vent in bathroom very dirty, phone didnt work and tv kept blinking out all despite the maintenance man attempting to repair them. I was give complimentary breakfast coupons for the inconvenience and move to a different room. When we went to use the coupons the experience was horrible. First cup for coffee was dirty, second cup was clean but was given a spoon to stir only to realize I had two spoons stuck together by food from the night before. When i showed the waitress she laughed like it was ok. That pissed me off so I asked another person to wait on is. He explained the dishes issue happens all the time because it depends on which dish washing machine they use. “good grief Charlie brown”
I then asked could they give complimentary night i was told no because i book with third parry even after verifying I was a Bonvey member. A LOT TO EXPERIENCE FOR A FIRST TIME STAY

The room was spotless. The staff was engaging and very helpful. We had driven about 11 hours and were famished. The restaurant, Jimmy V's was empty but the three people working made me feel very welcome and the food was OUTSTANDING.. We had to leave a day early due to the storm and there was no issue with crediting the day.

The staff was kind and extremely helpful. They were the best part of the stay. It asked me to rated your breakfast at the Sheraton. We were unaware there was breakfast available. That would have been nice to know. The frustrating part of our stay was th parking. I have no problem paying to park at a hotel. I am quite accustomed to paying 20-30.00 a day for parking. Bizarre charging of credit card during the stay. Chose to pay at the property for this 3-Night reservation. Initial authorization for full amount and incidentals was held upon check in. Hotel attempted another authorization for nearly the full amount the second night which the bank flagged as suspicious and declined. Approved the charge with the bank. Hotel authorized another full amount charge on the 3rd night. Have NEVER had this experience before at any hotel over many years of traveling and using that same card. Luckily these holds did not impact our travel but I can certainly see how that could be problematic for others and that’s why I’m sharing this information. It is not expected to have 3 times the total of your stay on hold until several days after check out. Make sure you are prepared.

Stayed in a room near the hospitality closet and stairwell, there were large laundry bins surrounding our room doorway. The tv was an old tv with a few channels that didn’t work. Surfaces weren’t wiped. Bed and pillows were too soft, woke up a million times with low back and neck pain. Asked front desk for additional pillows. He said he would send some, they never came. Shower body wash bottle was empty. Checking in and checking out was a long wait at the front desk.

We were really disappointed in our stay. We didn't have any cleaning in our room the entire stay and we had to request towels in order to get clean ones. Our bathroom electricity went out and had to be fixed and the drawers. in the room wouldn't stay closed so we had to put a chair in front of them to keep them from coming open. I expected way nicer for almost $300/night

My wife and I have been at the Raleigh Sheraton before. Since then, there has been a major deterioration in services. We will not be returning. It was not possible to control room temp with the thermostat. No matter what setting I tried, it would not move from 67 (?), that is cold for us. Temp only rose when I turned the system off. Getting wifi was nearly impossible. I was able to phone the front desk only on the first day. They could not walk me through it, so I had to bring my laptop to the front desk. Then the phone no longer worked. The shower took 20 min to get comfortable temp. The room was not cleaned on Friday, day 1. Since there were no clean towels by Sat. next day at 11:30 PM, I had to get some from front desk. By the way, there was no welcome book listing hotel services or what was available nearby.
The only positive grade I will give is to Jimmy's where food and service were excellent.
Shame on you!

After a long day, after checking in, our hot water did not work, the phone in our room also dud not work. We repacked our things and headed down to reservation to request a new room. They advised it would be quicker to have someone come fix it. He was able to make it Luke warm. All we wanted was to take a hot shower. Not a great experience.

Very bad experience on Fattiville St, while walking to find a restaurant. Extremely dangerous, lot of homeless people, some with mental illnesses. Especially near Moores Station and heading towards the capital.

Back to the Marriott we go.

We choose high end hotels when staying downtown in bigger cities primary for the convenience of valet parking. I was very surprised and disappointed such a hotel did not offer valet parking. Instead, I had to find a parking garage and carry my luggage to the hotel which was a total hassle.

I attempted to order room service which was advertised but was told by the front desk the restaurant was separate from the hotel and I had to contact the restaurant directly to place the order. The front desk could not transfer me to the restaurant and did not know the number in which I could call. I finally walked downstairs and went to the restaurant instead. It was my only option. The manager of the restaurant was very nice, felt bad and gave me my breakfast for free. For that I was very appreciative. Two of the nicest waitress made up for everything. Their names were Noelle and Fifi. Awesome friendly ladies.

Toilet was a nightmare to flush. Had to hold the handle down for over 20 seconds to make a flush.

With all of that said, it’s back to center city Marriott we go.

I stay at this hotel every month when I travel for work. While I have some complaints about the rooms, I still choose to stay here for price and convenience. None of the things I mention are so bad to deter me from staying here. There is a Marriott nextdoor that I stay in as well if it’s cheaper at the time.

The location is convenient in downtown Raleigh, and there are many restaurants nearby. There is a restaurant and bar within the hotel, and they have a cafe in the mornings for coffee.

Parking is across the street, and it’s $20/nt. There is a public garage directly adjacent to it that has free overnight parking, unless there is an event.

The rooms are generally very clean, and the bedding is always fresh and comfortable; but it is time for a refresh. The bathroom could use a remodel or a deep clean of the shower head, tiles/grout, caulking, and walls. This seems to be consistent for all the rooms I’ve stayed in here. There have been a few rooms where the thermostat did not work. Despite being set at the lowest temperature possible (64*), it didn’t get any colder in the room. One room was HOT all night during the summer. The hot water took 15 minutes to come on in one room. I waited for it to get warm for 10 minutes before I relented and showered with freezing cold water. Thankfully, at the very end, some warm water came through to warm me up just as I was finishing. This was a one-time experience in one room, though. I still choose to stay here despite these things.

Have lived in the Raleigh area for over 20 years, but never had a reason to stay at the hotel. Always new about it though as perhaps one of the oldest, if not the oldest hotel downtown. Have neen in the hotel, but for events, etc., but never stayed. Very nice. Staff, excellent. Room was very clean. Excellent hotel lobby with nice restaurant. Enjoyed.

I spent a weekend here for convention held at this same property. The location was very convenient for that purpose. It is also in heart of downtown Raleigh and as such very close to many dining & entertainment venues. Staff was friendly. Jimmy V’s, the on-site restaurant has fine food choices and a full bar. The room and facilities were satisfactory. The sheets were clean, the pillows were fluffy, and the towels were soft. There were no bugs, the AC kept the temperature & humidity very comfortable, and the in room coffee maker made a good brew. Unfortunately, the place is just getting well worn and needs a refresh: in my room the sink dripped, the toilet ran continuously, the shower drained slowly, one light bulb was burned out, and the tv didn’t work. As a single traveler that spent little time in my room except to rest, none of these detractors interrupted my stay and I worked around each one. If your expectation is a 5-star hotel, this isn’t it but it is satisfactory.

My fifth year staying at the Sheraton and it keeps getting better. Yes, it may be an older builing that has \"older building problems\" but it still stands strong. Paid garage parking, hourly and daily rates do apply. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. Jamal is one of the best there is. The rooms may not have mini fridges or microwaves to heat up your Jimmy V's leftovers, but I understand food so good is rarely in a takeout box. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud, There is ample outlets and plug-ins for all your chargers. Shower pressure is devine, for me it is perfect. The Shearton is a great place that has history around it and is close to everyday activities.

Two of 3 elevators worked which made getting in and out of the hotel a pain. Room was hot when we arrived. In the summer, they should have the thermostat on cool automatically. It was off completely.
