Staff were friendly, rooms were clean. Lift wasn't working while we were there. They wanted to put our children on a different floor to us, so we had to take a different room with a smaller bed. Very convenient location for access to the train station and the old town. Downstairs is fine for breakfast but not the sort of area you'd ever want to hang out in.

This hotel was just across from the train station so very convenient. Clerk at the front desk was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Our room was a bit cramped but clean abd quiet. The convenient of getting around was so easy. Lots of good restaurants and so much to see.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is directly opposite St Roche station which was very convenient. It is also a short walk into the main areas of Montpellier. A perfect walking location. There are tram stops just around the corner. The hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable with lovely bathrooms. Staff were helpful and friendly.

This is my go to hotel. The problem was a plumbing one. I only stayed for one night and in the morning the bathroom was not usable at all due to a sewage backup ... Staff were nice, but did not even offer another room to use to take a shower or use the facilities.

The staff were professional and helpful. Breakfast €12 was varied and good. Room itself was very clean and modern, but carpeting in hotel seemed old and lent a grim atmosphere. Each morning in one area of the lobby where guests ate breakfast (luckily a more remote area), there was a distinct sewage smell, like the bldg plumbing couldn’t handle so much humanity. It was quite off-putting. The fumes seemed to be gone later in the day only to be back the next morning. My room looked out at the train station (whose close proximity is why I chose the hotel) so I didn’t expect great atmosphere, but what I didn’t expect was the continuous clanging bell of the trams that passed by my corner of the hotel all day. Luckily they weren’t a problem with ear plugs between 10pm and about 8am.

I booked on- line outside the hotel. I went inside and the receptionist had received the booking. He was very friendly and helpful. He gave me a great room. He also gave me directions to the main square.

Welcoming and helpful staff. The location is perfect, close to tram, trains, shops and bar/restaurants .
The room was also very spacious and clean. A small minus was the awkward bathroom design which caused the shower to flood the floor if not careful and the lack of space at hand to place cosmetics .
Breakfast facilities were ok.
Would definitely come back , though!

I had a week’s stay in the hotel. The room was clean, bright and modern. The hotel was very close to all tram lines and a very short walk to the main square, an ideal location to experience Montpellier.

The staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and I can’t praise them enough. I would highly recommend.

I stayed at the hotel for a longer stay than most. There is a lot to like about this hotel. It is across the street from the train station but the rooms are quiet. The trams are across the street making it very easy to use public transportation. The walk to the main place is easy and can be done in a few minutes. There aren’t restraints near the hotel. Small marts are across the street in the train station. Getting snacks was easy. The room was small for an American but good sized for Europe. There was a good use of space. I liked that the refrigerator was large and the safe easily accessible. I did get the morning breakfast. It was the basic buffet but good. The staff made my stay. I try and stay in smaller or boutique hotels because there is a better interaction with the staff. Benny is wonderful and very helpful. The young staff member was also very kind. They helped me arrange to travel to the beach. I am finding that Best Western is becoming my favorite chain. They are fancy or small. Clean and reliable. As for me I would recommend this hotel for a short stay definitely. As for a longer stay my only drawback is the lack of nearby restaurants. I had a weird experience with the appearance and disappearance of the English speaking movie channel. The hotel could do better with providing an English speaking non news channel.

Pros: The room was very clean and nicely decorated. the beds were comfortable. Nice staff. Location is very convenient and next to the train station.

Cons: Unsafe surroundings. My sister's wallet got stollen next to the hotel. The hallways need upgrades and to reach our room we had to carry our suitcases five to six steps up after we came out of elevator. The room was much too small for three adults. there were lots of electricity outlets but the table/desk in the room was really tiny.

Can’t say enough great things about BW Comedie Saint-Roch. Apart from it being situated in the immediate city centre, walkable, pristinely clean, and friendly staff; after realizing I had forgot several expensive articles of clothing in my room wardrobe, the staff went out of their way to secure my things and have them shipped back to me in Canada, their kindness and hospitality is something I will not forget when booking another trip to the lovely city of Montpellier! We stayed overnight at the hotel before catching a train to Barcelona. The check in process was very quick and easy and the staff were friendly and there was an elevator. Our room was modern and clean and was a little small with an average view out over an alleyway. The room had a fridge and a hairdryer and TV and air conditioning. We walked up to a main square in the evening and found plenty of bars and restaurants and a supermarket. Being over the road from the train station made the hotel a very convenient place to stay as we had an early train to Spain. Highly recommend.

The hotel is made by it's wonderful, friendly and helpful reception staff. Nothing was too small for them to help! I didn't know that the electrics didn't come on in the room until the card 'key' was slotted into the receiver by the door - I'm not very technical! But was easily solved by a staff member who showed me how to use it. A very nice buffet breakfast, lovely seating area to relax in, though I did miss a proper bar to choose & order drinks from, rather than the lovely evening receptionist going off to prepare a drink for me? He was the star of the staff - he even watched out for me when I went along the road to withdraw some cash from the ATM at night, as I was a little wary. Nothing was too much trouble. Your staff are the best! I would most definitely stay here again. The proximity to the train stations, the trams, the restaurants and shopping areas. Just perfect! And the room was beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Good location, room not so great

Just a one night stop over, we chose it for the location being so close to the train station. Location was fab. Service/reception was great. However, the room had a couple negatives, which i wouldn't have accepted for more than one night stay.

Firstly the room had a skylight with no blind/curtain, so at made it difficult to sleep after sunrise. VERY frustrating.

Next, the room had sloped ceilings, and the shower ceiling was low. Being a tall guy, let's just say, i hit my head a few times!

Maybe it was just our luck with the room we were given, but i wouldn't stay again, which is a shame as the location and staff were very good.

I desperately needed a few more hours in the room before traveling to Barcelona and originally he said I could stay 4 more hours for 50 euros but then said they were \"fully booked\" which wasn't true because I could go online and get five different rooms. He was super rude and I basically tossed the room key at him as I left. Room was small, faced an interior corridor, and there was a stain on the carpet. Not worth the $100 I paid for one night.

Best Western Hotel

Cet hôtel se trouve à seulement 2 pas de la gare Saint Roch (Gare Sud de France à 10mn en voiture), et à environ 6 minutes à pied de la place de la Comédie, en plein centre-ville de Montpellier. De plus, de nombreux restaurants sont à proximité, ainsi qu'un centre commercial à une dizaine de minutes de marche et à quelques pas des lieux touristiques (arc de triomphe, l’église saint Anne, l’escalier multicolore, l’arbre blanc etc). On peut vraiment tout faire à pied avec un peu de bonne volonté. Dans le cas contraire, le tram est à 2 pas de l’hôtel. Au delà de l'environnement, le personnel de l'accueil de cet hôtel est très à l'écoute (toutes mes demandes ont été honorées), et les chambres sont d'une propreté irréprochable, lits confortables même si les draps sont changés tous les 3 jours pour des raisons écologiques. Cependant, je recommanderais à l'hôtel de mettre une bouteille d'eau de bienvenu dans le frigo des chambres pour éviter que celui-ci ne fonctionne à vide.

As we were staying just overnight for a train connection, this hotel was ideal as it is right across the street from the station. We were on the street side and so we did hear the trains and feel the rumbling. But my husband wore earplugs and we both slept soundly. Everything was just fine. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was a pleasant surprise right next to the train station. Our train got cancelled and need to find something quick and cost effective. It was unique, clean, organized, and the staff were pleasant. The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. Everything was walking distance in the town.
