I have stayed more in the center of Montpelier, but the walk to the center through the university is tranquil. The hotel is comfortable, the staff kind.

Personnel ok mais hotel sans grand interet, chambre avec insonorisation moyenne entre lers chambres, par contre ok avec l'exterieur, confort basique ET surtout gros probleme de la clim. elle marche mais ne rafraichit presque pas malgré le reglage, et se met à fuir et à couler dans la chambre. Heureusement qu'il y avait 4 serviettes, 3 ont servi à ça. Bref, pour une courte étape ok, pour plus mieux vaut aller un peu plus loin , là ou la clim fonctionne et oou il y a un mini-bar frigo dans la chambre...

THe Kyriad in Montpellier was very good, if not excellent! The staff in particular were really helpful and accommodating! The room is 3 star....has everything you need, but not spacious. It does not have a refrigerator and could use some hooks in the bathroom but those are minor....it was a 10 minute walk to the center of town (Place de la comedy) and again, the staff were VERY HELPFUL!

In General it's not too bad. Room is a little small and old. Don't know why they changed another 1.4 euros/person city tax when I checked out. It should have been included in my bookings already like the other hotels in France I booked via Hotels.com. The receptionist just answered \"I don't know \" it is much to pay but just give me bad impression although they let me leave my suitcase there for another two days after checked out which made me feel better about their service.

We were 5 rugby supporters on our first visit to Monpellier. We stayed 2 nights at the hotel and it excellent. The rooms we were given were comfortable and clean.
The staff were really friendly, willing to help and understood and spoke English.
The hotel is situated in the commercial part of Montpellier and there was a tram stop 200 metres away that took us into the middle of the city centre.
The staff also allowed us leave our luggage in a secure room after we checked so that we didn’t have to carry it around Montpellier whilst doing some sightseeing.

Except for the size of the rooms (very small, if you have a suitcase, it will be on your way wherever you put it), the hotel is a nice place to stay in. You'll need to ask for a room on the court side, otherwise it'll be a little noisy.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Hotel Kyriad. Room was clean and service was good. Good value for three star hotel. Wifi was reliable. While it's a 15-20 minute walk to the historical center, you can make a shortcut through the Antigone and mall.

Only a 5 minute walk from where the 120 Airport Shuttle service terminates in Place de l'Europe. And only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the town centre at Comedie. Immediate neighbourhood a bit stark but there's a fresh food market and independent shops, cafes, etc, a couple of minutes away en route to the centre.

Hotel very handy [150m] from where the airport bus dropped us off which was handy since we arrived in a thunderstorm. Not quite so handy for visiting the town centre which was a 500m+ [10 minute walk] from the hotel. Fortunately the rain had stopped so it was OK but would have liked to have been closer had it continued to rain. However the weather was extreme so it normal circumstances would have been fine.

Had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a quiet location but close to the main shopping centre. The station is only a 12 minute walk away and you can catch the tram if you don't fancy the walk. The breakfast was quite good as hotel breakfasts go albeit rather expensive at €11 per day. The walls seemed quite thin so although the area was quiet I did hear some noise from adjacent rooms/the rooms above and this may be a problem if you are a light sleeper.

This hotel was a bit of a walk with luggage in tow and the address I had written down had me asking locals which way to turn. Once found staff were great, hall way a little musty but that did not effect the room. Clean, spacious, well lite and AC(it won't be on when you get there so flip the switch). The front desk was very responsive to my request for a new room key and number after I both realize a gypsys mock soccer instructions (unsolicited) allowed him to make off with the belongings in my pocket a bit of a sprint to the hotel I was able to feel safe and calm due to the staff! Oh one last thing the shower was raised off the ground about seven inches- old people might need access assistance.

A Very Pleasant Weekend Stay
I was in Montpellier for a whirlwind weekend stay, and spent just the one night at the Kyriad. The location was excellent, about a 2-minute walk from Leon Blum tram station, and the price was excellent (though to be fair I took advantage of a special discount). The room was of a typical French size (ie. small), but clean and well-equipped; the bed was a bit hard, but all in all I was quite satisfied. The breakfast was a bit basic for 11 Euros (when they said American-style I assumed there would be some hot food), but good and filling.

If you are looking for The Ritz look elsewhere... if you need a good value for money don't hesitate. 2 minutes walk from Leon Blum Tramway station. 1 tramway stop (500m) from a commercial mall (supermarket/restaurants/clothes etc). Room and bath are a bit small but everything you need is here even a kettle+coffee+tea. Free internet in rooms. Breakfast is fair ( don't miss the cereal bread!).Staff is helpfull and friendly! We booked the Kyriad for a 3-day stay while in town for a trade show and were surprised to find such a warm and helpful front desk staff in this \"business\" chain hotel outlet. The desk clerks seemed genuinely invested in ensuring not only that we had all that we need at the hotel itself, but also that we enjoy Montpellier while we were there. Excellent restaurant recommendations, patient directions and instructions for local travel, and all around terrific hospitality.

It was after I could see the local French people here speaking English and conversing with each other in the different languages of Europe that I realized how the American educational system let me and countless other American students down. Instead of making it mandatory for all American students to learn at least 1 (preferably 2) foreign
languages in both elementary & high school, the schools waste huge amounts of money & student's time teaching us how to kick an egg shaped ball, throw a round ball through a hoop and jump over sand wearing a track suit. Unfortunately, kicking, throwing & jumping doesn't give the student important skills for his future as the ability to speak a couple of other languages, besides English, would.

Convenient Budget Hotel
Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in October. The room was quite small although clean and tidy and perfectly adequate as a base for our extended weekend stay. The shower was very good which is not always the case in budget accommodation. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
It was a short 15 minute walk into the Place de la Comedie, we found the quickest way was to turn left outside the hotel and then walk straight up Rue de Antigone, which brings you into the Place de la Comedie just near the tourist information centre. Alternatively you can walk through the Polygone shopping centre.

Our Hotel was close to the centre, within easy walking distance. The staff at the Hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. Although full the hotel was very quiet. Montpellier itself was a delight and it was very easy to travel by public transport to the coast. It was also very reasonable in price. Our trip was very enjoyable and relaxing and I will definitely use Expedia again.

Let's start with the positives: The staff was courteous, friendly, humble, and helpful. Most of them spoke at least some English, but I was happy to have a chance to exercise my French. They were happy to explain how to find my way to the beach by public transportation and printed out schedules and maps to help. The bathroom was brand new and very clean. The water pressure and temperature were great, both of which are not always easy to come by in a small French city.
The negatives were all things that you can 100% go through your trip without them bothering you, but I suppose this depends on your personality. So take it as you will, I include these things for the sake of a thorough review, but I had a wonderful time in Montpellier despite any of them. The bathroom garbage wasn't emptied when we arrived, the bed was a bit too firm and the pillows very flat, the room was very small with little storage space for suitcases or clothes, and the walls are paper thin. The room was cleaned daily, so the bathroom garbage must have been an oversight and it was taken care of the next day. The rest of the things I listed are all typical of smaller hotels as far as I'm concerned, and none of them really affected my trip. Would I have preferred a bigger room, comfier bed, and thicker walls? Sure. But I could surely find that at a hotel where I would pay more. I was happy to push these things aside and be happy that the room was clean and the staff were nice.
