Was unable to contact reception before arriving at the hotel for an after hours check in (10pm). Was later (the next day) advised that reception was in fact, staffed until midnight however, during business hours (I called at 5pm to confirm) I was advised that reception is closed at 8pm and that I should call the reception number to be let in. I was very far from Box Hill so I called 9 times, went straight to a \"no message can be left on this service\". Expedia support team were unable to contact them as well. The hotel has since refused a refund and marked me as no-show. I think I made a calculated decision at close to 10pm by not being stranded at Box Hill of all places based on the information I had at hand, reception closes at 8, call us for after hours, no answer in repeated calls by both myself and Expedia. I will see if the ACCC see things my way otherwise I will accept their decision on who is at fault here. Shouldn't be an unreasonable request for a hotel to do what they said they will do and simply ensure your phone service works if you're advising out of town travellers to call before checking in after hours.

The Comfort Apartments are not somewhere I would rush back to. The room was a good size, the bathroom had a good pressure on the shower, the kitchen facilities basic, no glasses. No balcony as such, you could not sit out, only room for the air con unit. The skirting in the apartment was unclean, the carpet fraying in one area. The bed was not comfortable. The upside, it's close to the shopping centre and transport. Was actually quite disappointed.🙁

We arrived at 7.58 pm called the afterhours number multiple times and noone answered the phone after many attempts we went for dinner and continued to try calling finally at 8.45pm he answered the afterhours phone. We had driven 3.5hrs to get there for a hospital admission the next day and were fearful we had no were to stay if he didnt answer.
The next morning we had to get ready early to gobto hospital and the hairdryer in the room didnt work. They provided a replacement we were very disapointment in the service and no compensation made for the poor service yet this was not cheap. Also walls are dirty need to be cleaned or repainted and pillows were miniature. Will not stay again due to the afterhours phone issue with no compensation made 😒

It is old and run down with dirty broken furniture but was bearable a few weeks ago but this week I was upgraded and the place was disgusting and smelt like a sewage pond. Verandah dirty and smelly and a lot of flies probably due to old lgarden with old food in it.
Asked to be moved but they were full. Had to use towels to soak up smelly water coming through bathroom floor tiles.

Would not have initially chosen this accommodation - only that it was conveniently located to Aged Care facility where we were visiting relative. Room was small but sufficient. Could have provided more cutlery, especially if more than 2 pax were staying. eg.only 1xtablespoon and 1xsoup spoon provided, no tea-towel , no glasses provided. External steps leading to property had spillage and was not cleaned during our 2day stay. Overall property condition was fair and could do with an upgrade and better cleaning.

We booked our stay in order to have close access to the Epworth Hospital as we had an appointment at 7:15AM. The City Edge was ideally located to the hospital, shops, public transport and restaurants.
The room was more than adequate for a one night stay. Limited Parking (Safe & Secure) was available under the building at the cost of $15.00 which I thought reasonable as on street parking was limited. The one staff member we encountered was very helpful and friendly.
The room was very clean but had seen better days. I found the bed comfortable but I would have liked a top sheet as it was quite warm in the room. The room had a Television, micro wave, electric jug, a small refrigerator, a dishwasher, a washing machine but no toaster. The minimum amount of cups, plates and cutlery was also provided. Would be happy to stay again in the same circumstances.

Tossing up between 3 and 4 stars. The location to Box Hill train station, Box Hill Hospital and Epworth Eastern is fantastic. Only 5 min walk from each. Front desk was great, helpful and friendly.
The room looks bigger in the photos, there was not a lot of space to the room. No Foxtel, although that's not a big deal. The bed was a little hard, but that's just a personal thing. The shower head was loose, so having a shower was a chore. The worst part though was the air conditioner. It sounded like there was an airplane taking off in the room it was so loud, so we could only have it on for short periods of time before we got a headache.

The property is being used as emergency public housing so a lot of shady people and loud noises and screams throughout the night.
Rooms are not soundproof, nor is there any climate control as advertised. Just a broken AC that keeps turning off plus no extra blankets so I couldn't sleep.
Noisy, smelly,dirty, unsafe.
Avoid at all costs.

Room was very clean, but, notices in room states if we didn't remove rubbish or didnt do dishes we would be a charge of $50 each extra for not doing. Also i dont like sleeping in a bed with no TOP sheet, just a doona, very unhealthy. How often is cover changed. Overall rest was good. Sorry

The entrance was overgrown and the 2 mats at the entrance were worn out and dirty.
The non smoking rules are not working. We paid extra for a patio to get fresh air but most of the time we had to be inside with the door shut due the smoking very close to us, maybe in the on site car park under the appartments.

Bed hard, no tea towels, shower head leaked, window mechanism broken...couldnt be closed properly.
Due to not able to close window properly, we were awake half the night with noise from outside! Also heater noisy, and couldnt get warm due to window issue!
Pictures on Wotif were deceptive. Looked like we had a balcony...that didnt happen. Very disappointed!!

The apartment was very basic. No coffee table or lamp in the sitting area, no wardrobe, drawers or anywhere to put a suitcase. The handle for the window winder had fallen off, the blinds were skewed, the picture was missing off the wall and the dining chairs had seen better days. Only local TV and no streaming services. We were kept awake both nights by slamming doors at all hours of the night and someone singing in the hallway at 2:00am one night. The exterior surroundings were very daggy and full of graffiti, definitely no city view. A lot of dogdy people around.

Pretty good. Hard to find park while you check in. Fee for parking is $12 per day. Disappointed with kitchen facilities ie no sharp knife and very limited utensils. Small freezer needs defrosting and with no door did not freeze. Odd place for sofa so you could not watch the TV next to your head. Bed very comfortable and quiet area for sleeping. Shower huge and well appointed bathroom.

Reception hours claimed on website to close at 9, emailed ahead to say we’d be there at 8:30 and received an email back saying they shut at 8 and would leave a key.
No access to car park after hours, so had to leave our car and a pretty sketchy looking car park outside.
Accommodation was fine - just disappointed in the lack of customer service.

We really were not impressed, a very disappointing view of the back of Chinese restaurant’s. Rubbish scattered at the back of hotel. Needs 2 keycards. The room needs a good clean and freshen up, a new paint job. Would not return.

The lady on reception was very helpful, as were the other staff we encountered, making sure we were okay. Studio apartment wheelchair access suited us perfectly. Bed, bedding towels all good. The only downside was the overall cleanliness. I needed to wash the cutlery, crockery, etc before using, remnants of food, greasy feeling. The kitchenette and shower areas, need a good clean, shower area especially around the base, in the corners and skirtings. Despite this, we stay there again.

Overall it was a good. The negative is the noise level. The housekeeping staff and patrons slam the unit doors in the morning and late evening. Quite frankly the doors need a soft close mechanism installed to prevent slamming, the housekeeping staff should know better.

As others have said, the rooms could do with a bit of TLC - marks on walls, some areas where there were deep scratches into the wall structure, soap scum still visible in the bathroom, shower corners had mould growth, dust accumulation around bottom areas of structures such as tables and beds. There was also no clear structure of how housekeeping works - despite the property rules stating that they will clean the rooms once a week, I had housekeeping provide change of towels 4 times in the first week, twice in the second week and nothing after that in my month long stay there. I don't feel the bedsheets were ever changed in my 30 day stay, and towards the end I had to request for more shower amenities because housekeeping had not returned since the second week of my 4 week stay.

I like how it was walking distance to the town central as i didnt have to drive at all. Child friendly. Having a washingmachine/dryer combo in the studio was a bonus. thank you city edge. I thought the tv was placed really weirdly. You could not watch it from bed unless you were diagonal on the bed. Overall stay was ok. Cheers.

The accommodation was not as per the photos. please note that the sink in the bathroom and the kitchen were not functional as they had plugs we could not remove.
