I made a reservation trough hotels.com & paid over $100, but when I arrived at the hotel (by Uber) I was told there was no available rooms then they offered me a dirty room, only to kick me out at 3 am claiming my reservation was lost or no longer in their system. A few days later I finally was able to speak to someone in charge and they said the kid at the front desk put me down as a no show so I was never refunded my money or my nights that I never got

Staff was fine checking in was easy rooms are disgusting! stained sheets ,mold on shower curtains, plenty of health code violations. People all over the place wondering around super shady whole place smelled like drugs. We know more than checked in and checked out now I'm just trying to get my money back we were there 10 minutes total from checking on to check out. Highly recommend to never stay there

I came here sick and to spend a couple days to mend. I left the hotel around 430pm to run to the bank and get food. Come back and notice first the curtain was open and so was the window. I go close them to realize my backpack with all my electronics vape, personal papers, phone charger, pocket knife and my medication which I need for Parkinson's and epilepsy oh and also my insulin and glucose meter. Then I start looking and notice the backpack that I carry supplies in for my service dog was gone. Looking in the bathroom my other backpack with my electric razor and hair clippers, and all my toiletries and 4 bottles of cologne. I go talk to the manager and he says he didn't know window didn't lock and he says just call the police and you know neither will do anything. The room was filthy popcorn under the edge of the bed and long black hair in both the beds I bought a sleeping bag to sleep in. Don't stay here you are likely to get robbed and you could sleep in your car and be more comfortable.

This property should not be listed as an option. I was there long enough to look at the room and that was too long. The property looked liked a set from a slasher movie.

No locks on the exterior entrance doors, no toilet paper or towels in the room, and material literally falling off the exterior of the building. I can on, and on…

The two people at the desk were rude and of minimal help when I told them my reasons (list above) for canceling my reservation, the one person responded, “ that’s what you get with Super 8”. I could only shake my head in disbelief and disappointment.

I spoke with a sympathetic agent at Wyndham, filed an official complaint late August haven’t heard back. Hence the reason for my delayed review. I was waiting for a response.

Had worst experience in this hotel. For check-in, I had to go to Baymont hotel which is located in same compound. Baymont staff was rude. Roms were not clean and had very bad smell. There was no one available in Super8 reception area. They shows photo of beautiful swiming pool but the swiming pool does not have any water. Also, I had breakfast included in my reservation but no breakfast was provided. Other than that, garbage was being thrown out of windows by cleaning staff. Never expected such a bad experience from Super8 which is managed by wyndhum. Also, why hotels.com is keeping such hotels in their list. It should be removed immediately from their listing. Why should any visitor/customer suffers as they trust Super8 by wyndhum and hotels.com. I give 0 ratings to this hotel. @hotels.com, pleaese take required actions and remove it from listing asap

This is a SCAM!!

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted to a locked front door with a sign posted on it that the Fire Marshal closed the building down over a year ago. When we wrote to complain, we were informed that our room was being cancelled and there will be no refund. I cannot believe that this is possible at Super 8 or through Hotels.com. Unfortunately, it was a costly lesson that neither this website or that hotel chain can be trusted.

This was the WORST hotel experience ever!!!! We arrived late and couldn’t find the hotel because the sign wasn’t illuminated. The worker was exceptionally rude!!! She insisted I didn’t have a reservation and kept telling me she could only give me a room with a king bed, I had booked 2 queen beds as it was my mom, me, and two kids. Finally she found it. She did not tell us that it was actually in a different building. My mom is handicapped and we unloaded her and our stuff, I parked the car and came in to my confused kids looking for our room. I finally asked and she rudely told me it was in a different building, the original hotel I booked at but it seemed completely shut down. She pointed me in a direction, I tried to go that way but it was impossible to go that way. I asked why she didn’t tell me from the start and she rudely told me she did (which she did not!) It was midnight and my young kids were exhausted! We got back in the car, drove around to a different building, that looked abandoned and finally got to our room. However, it was very dirty, the ceiling was falling in and the carpet wasn’t vacuumed, there was a dog barking in a room across the hall…and the room: NO TOILET PAPER, NO TISSUE, NO BATH TOWELS!!! I tried to call the front desk, of course, there was no answer. I tried & tried. Finally we decided to use wipes from our car and no shower. When we checked out I wanted to talk to a manager but there wasn’t even a person, just a sign saying no one was available!

I arrive 30 minutes prior to check in. I waited 15 minutes at the desk, called the office 3 times before housekeeping notified me to check in at the ajoined sister hotel. 15 minutes prior to checkin time, I entered the sister hotel, where I was informed I wasn't able to check in until 3. There were no visible guests, the hotel was not full. At 259, the person at the check in desk went outside. When he returned, a line of 6 parties formed to check in. The staff, changed the printer paper. It was hot in the lobby, the hotel had a strong smell, the parking lot has broken glass and disabled vehicles. I didn't check in and forfeited the room charge. Too many bad vibes.

The hallways have a very strong odor of marijuana. The first room we checked into smelled so badly of cat urine that we had to leave immediately. We switched to another room, however the toilet did not work and there were feces in it. We attempted to use the public bathroom by the front desk, however there was vomit in the sink and on and around the toilet. We had to go to a nearby gas station to use the bathroom. If it hadn't been so late we would have left immediately. The grounds are very poorly kept with trash everywhere and uncut grass & weeds. The pool that looked so inviting on the website photos looked like a swamp and had a black tarp over it. There was also vomit on the floor of a gazebo outside that we briefly entered to get out of the rain. At 12:30am the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. We were told that someone had just pulled it for fun. I have photographs of all of the above, minus of course the fire alarm.

I was in the parking lot of the hotel I thought I was booking. I went inside and was told, \"oh no this property was sold.\" I clicked on the expedia app to bring me to the room that I just paid for. I pulled up to a beautiful property. I was given a key and told to go around back. The property looked abandoned. Four men were sitting out front drinking from bagged bottles smoking something other than cigarettes. They told me I had a nice car and asked if I would be leaving it overnight? I should have left at this point. I went to my room. The door was open and it smelled like urine. At this point I turned my keys in and asked for a refund. This is fraud.

I booked a reservation for a room at the Super 8 in advance because I know rooms are scarce during the state fair. When I arrived no one was at the front desk. Eventually another guest walked by and told me to check in at the next door Baymont Inn. I hiked across the field to the Baymont front desk and waited in a long line for a very slow check-in. When I received a key I went back to the Super 8 and went into my room. At first I thought someone was still in the room and then I realized that someone had checked out and the room had never been made up. The bed had been slept in, all the towels were went and on the floor, there was no soap, nothing had been cleaned after a sloppy guest. I went to the front desk and explained. The only response I got was \"do you want a refund?\" I asked if another room was available and was told no. I asked if someone could make up the room and was told that the maids were gone for the day. Motels were no doubt all sold out by that time. So I enjoyed a lovely night's sleep in a bed with used sheets with the air-conditioner set at 60 degrees but keeping the room around 90 and humid.

My whole stay was terrible from rhe start i had to go to another hotel to chick in first. Second my room was dirty when i walked in found a dog toy by the bed, trash on the floor. Third i booked room for 2 guest and we only had one towel. Fourth the was homeless men sleeping in parking lot. Fifth someoe pulled the fire alarm around midnight and i had to exit the building till the fire dept came and cleared the building to be safe. Personally the worst experience i have ever had.

This was a gross hotel. They have the front \"nice\" hotel and then the back \"crappy\" hotel. Not sure how they figure who stays where. As soon as I walked into the building, it smelled so bad. Definitely can tell pot must be legal there. Didn't smell it in the main building. There were what looked like bloodstains everywhere, from the bedding to the ceiling. Non- Smoking room However the room smelled of pot smoking, beds were not clean. One bed had a hole in the sheet and a pebble in it. The other bed had black flakes on the bed when we moved the pillow. There was a bug in the bathtub. The door would not lock you just could open it by turning the door knob. I did not stay there for more than 5 minutes. Would not recommend it to anybody.

Absolutely awful. Arrived to check in and there was no front desk. Was then told by a resident that the next door hotel “sometimes” checks in guests for Super 8 too. Then went to that front desk only to be told they had “no reservation” for me and to “leave now.” Receptionist Tina was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. Was told by another guest that his bed didn’t even have sheets/blankets, and that his key card stopped working so he couldn’t even gather his belongings. This facility is in complete disrepair and should not be open to the public. Atrocious “service” and facility.

It is very disappointing that’s refund is not available as when I was trying to check in the way me/other customers were treated at checking in was not very professional. For me I was told that there were no rooms available. I told the lady that i paid in advance for 2 nights and that there better be a room available for me. After standing there for over half an hour I finally got keys to a room. Upon checking the room it smelled like pee, there were no pillow cases on the pillows and there were bugs all over the pillows. I went back to the lobby to return the keys and ask for a refund but there was a line of customers (10-15) going all the way back to the door snd there was nobody at the counter; I was told the lady checking in people simply walked out. So I did find another expensive hotel ($308/night!!!). The next morning I went back to the hotel to return the keys and showed proof that I stayed somewhere else.
Needless to say I will probably never stay at a super 8 again and the $50 coupon Travelocity offeref does not come close to the extra money I had to pay to stay at a clean hotel.
And, I will probably not use Travelocity again. I have other options for booking hotels.

I showed up at the property, there was a stack of someone's belongings outside of a window on the ground. There was a couple with 4 big dogs sitting on the ledges to go into the hotel. There was no one at the check in desk, no phone nothing looking like a real desk no one on the property to check you in. A gentleman that was staying there told me if I was checking in I needed to go to the hotel at the top of the hill and call the number listed there (a Baymont). I told him I had smelled mildew/mold and I was extremely allergic to mold/mildew and could not stay there. I drove up the hill there was a white desk area with a telephone number of 515-705-5732. I called that number 2 times with no answer. Then I called expedia to explain the situation. I gave the telephone number that was on the sign on the registration desk for her to call. She called two times with no answer and said she would keep trying to call and get hold of the manager because of the mold/mildew smell and my allergies to get a refund and I would be sent an email regarding a refund. I do not have email on my phone so when i got home on Tuesday I saw the email that they could not get hold of the manager and I would not get a refund for the 4 days I was to stay there with my daughter. I took pictures of the outside of the hotel showing the conditions and the people sitting with there dogs. I am a Wyndham rewards member for several years and I have stayed at a variety of your hotels.

I didn't stay at all,no tv in the room when I went into the room,.It had a terrible odor.I stood at the counter area waiting about 30 minutes before I was able to confirm my reservation. Because there were other unhappy guest trying to get checked in, and there were no clean rooms.So,that was my first red flag.After letting them know there was no tv in the room,they offered to give me the one they had in there room.I accepted, but after going back to the room I couldn't stand the horrible smell, and there was no towels, or tissue in the bathroom. So,I decided to leave. And went to the front desk to chekout

Check in is actually at the Baymont Inn. Room was missing desk chair, ice bucket, drinking glasses, pillow cases. They finally moved me to a room in the adjacent Baymont Inn. It was missing towels. I was brought one well-worn towel which had holes in it. Internet is down for the second day. Breakfast wasn't ready at 6 o\"clock. People staying there helped get the plates and bowls out and chairs down.

Upon arrival I couldn't locate the front desk to check in (there was an area, but no computer or phone present). This is because there is none, you have to check in at the neighboring hotel--there was no sign informing guests of this, I just went there by chance.
I waited while they dealt with another guest that had been assigned to a room that was already occupied, and then that occupant coming down to complain how they got walked in on.
Room was cool enough, but stayed very humid, which you could tell was the norm by the rust present on the lamps.
Toilet dirty, sink and bathtub had hair, bathmat had a hole and was wet. No soap (did have moisturizer and shampoo). In places that walls had been patched but not repainted.
TV turned on, but was not correct remote so couldn't change channels or get the program on the whole screen.
My room and the whole entire place felt grimy. Front door and all room doors beat up. Hallway needed sweeping. Tops of washer and dryer dirty.
I felt unsafe seeing the condition of the property and knowing that no staff was present in the building at all.
Pool had a permanent looking \"Pool Closed\" sign and was half full of dirty water and a tarp that had partly fallen in.
I got breakfast at the neighboring hotel where I checked in, wasn't that clean or nice over there either. I'll remember now to always look at reviews even when I am in a rush.

Bathroom no shower curtain, unable to use shower head, no plug for tub, so unable to clean unless sink. Water dripping from air conditioning inside the room, carpet soaked. Room smelled of vomit and stale air. No Wi-Fi, No one to check us in had to travel to neighboring hotel. Do not stay here!

We reserved 2 rooms through you at Super 8, but when we got there we had to check in at Baymont next door because Super 8 was condenmed , but the rooms were just inside the Super 8 entrance. There was a strip joint connected to Baymont wyndam.The room was set up for having sex. No phone, tv had no cab!e box, tv didn't work. Only thing there that worked was 2 beds and a chair. My sister-in-law(Mary wright) got Baymont to put us in 2 rooms in their hotel. Sup er 8 is a scam and Baymont might be partners. I want a refund. I have terminal cancer and on oxygen, so I was to stressed to take pictures.

Avoid at all costs

1) The Super 8 is hidden behind the Baymont, not visible from the street. 2) Check-in is at the Baymont. 3) The most foul stench of cigarettes, bodies and garbage as soon as you open the door. 4) Carpets worn and frayed -- trip and fall hazard. 5) holes and unpainted wall patches in bedroom walls (room 239). 6) Bed not made and tucked tightly -- appeared that covers were just pulled up after the last victim. 7) No towels or washcloths or drinking cups anywhere in room. 8) Dead, desiccated insect bodies between the bottom sheet and the mattress pad -- How long has it been since that bottom sheet has been changed? 8) Staff refused to refund my money. 9) Left a note for manager with 48 hour time limit to call me and make things right, he/she never called. I will be reporting this facility to the Iowa Attorney General and the county health department.

Comforter was dirty and had white stain on it.
There was no toliet paper in the room.
The phone and wifi was out all weekend.
There was no manager on site to handle any of the issues that came.
Asked for a refund si i could stay somewhere else and was told the manager would process that when he can in on Monday. Obviously the manager didn't do.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!

In over 50 years of staying at hotels, this was probably the worst hotel ever.
No one was in the office and I had to go to the sister property.
First room had no TV
2nd Room bed had been slept in and not made up.
3rd Room had a totally disgusting chair with the seat all ripped off.
4th Room had blood spatter all over the wall (crime scene) and hair and dirt in the tub.
I asked to be put in the sister property and they would not credit the money I already paid for the first room.
I asked to talk to the manager and the clerk said there was no phone and the manager who was at other properties would not answer in any case.
There was no breakfast.
Absolutely the worst. I am hoping to get a refund from Expedia.

WORST hotel I've ever stayed at. Usually, if I saw mouse traps by the doors and the condition of the property the way this hotel was, I'd cancel and find somewhere else to stay, but we were exhausted and needed a place.

Everything smelled like pot. The room was filthy and we were given only 1 set of towel and washcloth. Given the state of the room, we wore our clothes to bed and slept on top of the covers and got out of there as soon as we woke up. We worried about the safety of our vehicles the entire time.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!
