Check in was smooth. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice and a pleasant surprise. This hotel is close to the new extension, however takes about 10 mins walk (downhill) to Haram near Clock Tower. Please keep in mind, 2 mins of walk back is uphill. There is a bridge to the Haram right next to this hotel but it was closed. Once it opens, getting to the Haram should be convenient!

Room was clean, and overall the hotel is not run down like some of the other Mecca hotels. Bathroom was immaculate with all the necessary amenities. Beds are so comfortable! I slept so well each night! Air conditioning worked well. Wall outlets had USB ports. Overall it was a really pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again as long as the bridge to Haram is open.

Booked Sheraton after looking at google maps realizing that the hotel is close to Masjid Al Haram.
But after reaching the hotel I was shocked and realized that the hotel was very far from the Kaaba where I wanted to be for Friday prayers.
The height at which this hotel is unbelievable.
The roads around are close so you can’t take a taxi and if you do take taxi the drivers charge you a big amount for a five minute drive. The only option is to rent a guy with a wheelchair to take you to that uphill hotel.
Unfortunately with physical health issues it was hard to take the uphill route.
After reaching hotel decided to cancel my reservations, got help from booking agents but unfortunately they couldn’t cancel my reservation as the staff at the hotel didn’t cooperate with Expedia. Exhausted from the whole trip to hotel and carrying my luggage I decided to just stay there for the night. To pray walked down to the mosque and rented a wheelchair service- paying out of pocket to get to hotel back up.
I didn’t get any response until the day after from Expedia so I had to continue my stay in the same hotel while I could have been staying closer to hotels near Kaaba. If I did book I would pay the high price for hotel near Kaaba as well as loose my money for the second day booking at Sheraton hotel.
Overall the stay was good, the breakfast was fair and at the last night was bit by bed bug, got late for my flight as taxi couldn’t come to my hotel for 45 minutes almost missed my flight.

My stay at Sheraton was truly enjoyable. The hotel is comfortable, well maintained, and very convenient, making it easy to relax from the moment you arrive. What really makes Sheraton stand out, however, is the exceptional staff. Their professionalism and genuine, client-focused service made a real difference throughout my stay.

A special shout-out to the front desk and lounge teams, especially Nashwa and Safaa, whose warmth, attentiveness, and care went above and beyond. They made me feel welcomed and well looked after at every interaction. I would happily recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.

It was mentioned that it is near to the haram but in real there is no bridge to the haram on booking it was mentioned and non convinient location, no cab goes there and no shuttle was provided i book a hotel for $1100 for 4 nights and looks like it was a waste

The staff were incredible. Check in was quick and efficient. It did not take 15 minutes. I was fortunate to get an upgrade because of my status in Marriott’s membership program. This property is highly misleading in its advertising. While it claims to be only a 5-minute walk to the Haram, in reality it takes nearly 20 minutes and that’s only after navigating broken flyovers and unsafe bridge crossings. The surrounding area is equally inconvenient, with no food outlets or convenience stores nearby; the closest ones are a 15-minute walk away, again via the same unsafe route.

The hotel itself is in poor condition: outdated interiors, faulty electrical switches and appliances, and a clear need for major renovation. Service at the front desk is unhelpful and far below standard. Overall, a disappointing stay that urgently requires improvement before it can justify its location or price.

The hotel itself is nice and clean and close enough to the Haram. It is a bit of a hike to get to the hotel from the Kaaba so keep that in mind; it was, however, the best price for a hotel on the Haram. Hotel staff were a mixed bag—some were super friendly and helpful, and others were standoffish (especially front desk staff). The breakfast is great.

Not walkable like advertised. It’s not a 4 minute walk to the Mosque. It took me one hour to walk to the mosque and to find gate # 79. That’s the only gate you are allowed to enter.

After the Saee, you are totally at new area and you can only come out of one gate. That is on the other side of the mosque.

I could not get my Google map working to find the hotel. I was totally lost. Finally, one worker was able to get his Google map working as he had data and he gave the directions. It took me 11/2 hr to get to the hotel. So my 3 hr umrah turned out to be
5 1/2 hr with 14000 steps.
Not sure what can be done as there is so much construction going on making acces to the mosque difficult.

Beware of the steep climb to the hotel

A lovely room and wonderfully maintained by Shelim who was always very polite and courteous to anything required to allow our stay to be comfortable.
I chose this hotel for its closeness to haram access via bridge however this was not the case. The route was longer than expected due to construction, and it was a steep climb. Felt disappointed for the price i paid due to the location.

Overall the property area in pleasant and staff is very kind. However there is currently construction on the mezzanine level that connects from the bridge to the Harrem...it's unaccessible currently due to construction. There is a 5 minute walk to the Harrem..I still recommend. My stay was enjoyable and the breakfast was super nice!

Hotel is great and walking distance from the Haram, however as a steep slope walking back to the hotel is very hard specially when you are tired. Very difficult to find the hotel with all the construction work happening around, we were lost for 45 minutes.

The housekeeping staff specially MD Shafiqul Islam was extremely helpful went above and beyond to find me a bucket to soak my feet as I was tired and in pain. Very friendly and always checked on us if we needed anything. Very efficient and always polite and courteous. The hotel is great to have someone like Shafiqul to work for them.

Thank you Shafiqul for making our stay great, we will be back soon.

The hotel was easily accessible to the mosque. At the time of writing this, the main gate for Tawaf is gate 79, and the Sheraton is on the newly extended side, so we mainly used gate 114, there is more space to pray and less crowded and chaotic, which we preferred.

The staff were particularly friendly, and always greeted with a smile no matter what time of day it was. We arrived a bit earlier than expected, but were able to leave our luggage with concierge and then check in a bit later.

There is a bridge that will have access to the mosque in the future, but the building work for the mosque extension has not been completed, so this is not in operation yet. But bear in mind this the extension part and not direct access to the Kaaba.

The facilities, bed and room were clean and comfortable, and I would personally stay here again.
