Very good location: 5 min walk to george v metro on line 1, near many restaurants.
Have a \"duplex\" room for families (1 sofa beds and 1 queen). Space is tight but every inch is used as expected in paris.
Only drawback is that there's is daycare/ kindergarten nearby and you can hear the kids starting at 8am .

We were greeted by the nicest staff, the hotel and our rooms were ready and lovely. There was a personal note and macarons waiting for us. Our rooms were very nice and cleaned daily. If we needed help with transportation or reservations, the staff was ready to help. We loved the location! It was easy to get to restaurants, the arc de triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. The metro was a short, easy walk too. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a great stay, the hotel is in the perfect location close to the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysee and the Metro too. The room was clean and comfy but didn't really spend much time there. The staff were all super nice and helpful and always available. I would definitely recommend.

Great location. But no as the picture.

I do like the place. Location excellent. The only think that I don’t like is that I book a room with two floors it show a lot of space. And when I got there they gave me first floor with a lot of humidity on the walls. They change the room to a tiny room. I didn’t get the room with two floors as I booked Also they offer airport pick up. But is not free.

Pretty good!

Location is amazing, hotel is really lovely, clean and well maintained. Staff very helpful. But the room was tiny with no room to move around when the couch bed was pulled out and there was a school next door so it was very very loud for hours early in the morning with loads of kids outside playing.

This was the worst hotel experience of my life! Do not stay here.

I reserved a “two bedroom suite” and the pictures I saw on the website (as well as the price) were reflective of what appeared to be a two bedroom suite. When I arrived at the property, I was charged in full for the five nights I reserved and taken up to the “two bedroom suite”. It was not a two-bedroom suite at all. It was two tiny hotel rooms adjoined by a door in the middle. Again, not reflective of the pictures that are shared on the Expedia website.

Immediately I went downstairs and told them there was some sort of mistake and articulated my displeasure. They agreed that the pictures on the Expedia website were misleading but said there was nothing they could do and that I had to contact Expedia. At this point, I had already paid for the hotel in full ($4700 CAD!!) and they were refusing to refund me. I left the hotel (and found a more suitable one) and contacted Expedia for them to tell me that it was up to the hotel to refund me, not Expedia. I am yet to be refunded the $4700 that they charged me for a very misleading hotel room, not to mention I had to pay for another hotel room.

The staff was not helpful and quite rude when trying to sort through this issue as was the Expedia representative. I have since escalated this issue to Expedia mgmt. and hoping to get some sort of response and refund.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!

We do not recommend.

Firstly, we were not permitted to check-in earlier than 3pm even though we understood a room of the type we had booked to be available.

Our overall experience was determined by the room we were allocated. The ground floor and front of the building were extremely noisy through the day and night. Street level passers by literally just oustide the bedroom window could be heard clearly, and were able to look into the room unless the curtains were drawn. Inside the building the noise from other guests in the ground floor reception area and the hallway was overwhelming. We requested another room but were told none other was available for the duration of our stay. It would be hard to believe that this challenge had not been raised before with the hotel management. We have stayed in Paris many times before happily at other hotels. This experience was poor.

I enjoyed so many things about the property. The service was fantastic, we were greeted with kindness and attentiveness. The staff took us through the normal registry procedures, answered all of our questions and concerns, each room is named after a famous poet, playwright, or ancient literature character. The architecture and interiors were upscale without advertising so. We’d divinely stay here on our next visit.

Suite Phillipe Le Bel -- modern two-level one bedroom with very poor and limited facilities. Cannot recommend Too dark in small kitchen cant see to use burners. Induction burners with no instructions. Very, very limited kitchen utensils.Microwave in back of cupboard under sink -- difficult to use. No storage for clothes, no room for suitcases. Bed much too large for space. Have to climb on bed as too tight to wall. No bedside table or shelf for book ar glasses, etc. TV on wall beside bed is very inconvenient. Bathroom is the best room but black mould in shower. Hooks in bathroom for clothes/towels too small wont hold anything. Also, shower leaks and wets the floor quite badly. Very small clothes cupboard with 3 hangers. Very bright with many windows but very stuffy -- windows dont open. Two-teir flat with difficult staircase for older guests.

However, the location is just great and the staff is very good. But would never stay in this particular suite again.

Property was extremely loud from the hallway, from employees at reception, from the room next door. Location is good, rooms are okay, not super comfortable and the bathroom is extremely minimal. I left while there was an event going on and the metro was shut down. The front desk employee checked out me and my massive luggage without making sure I knew that or offering to call me a cab. I found that really unacceptable from a 4 star hotel. Overall it was fine but there are much nicer hotels in Paris for this price.

Location was wonderful, especially due to the Metro strikes during our visit. It was extremely helpful to be so close to the 1 line. A few things about the suite were surprising to us, however. The bedroom was located up a staircase above the living area, which wasn't a problem for us, but may be for people with more mobility issues. A microwave and cookware were also not provided, and I remembered the listing saying those amenities were included. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay, and the staff members at the desk were always very helpful.

Only setbacks were - the wifi wasnt working for the 2nights we were there and the hotel shud redo the tap structure at the sink. The tap is too far from the sink that it caused water to flood around the sink area.

These pictures are somewhat misleading. First, the property has a little more wear and tear than these pictures suggest. Second, I wouldn't call this a hotel. My room was more like an air B&B. Which means that you get someone to clean your room but you don't get any of the amenities of a hotel. At 650 Euro a night, I really expected a lobby, a restaurant, turn down service... the cleaning staff don't show up until 4-5pm, which is just a waste of time at that point. Paris always has dodgy hotels, but I want to warn someone who is looking for a HOTEL to avoid this place. The only seriously good thing was the location, but for that price you could stay anywhere with a good location. Good luck everyone.

Our party occupied 4 rooms. Two of the rooms were very small. However, we only needed them for sleep. The hotel was clean and the employees were very nice. The hotel was in walking distance to everything, accept Notre Dame and the louvre, which was a huge plus. Uber is very efficient around Paris. Overall great experience. There was no ice. One improvement....please fine a way to obtain ice for guest.

I loved almost everything about my 2-week stay there last October. The staff was amazing! Everyone was friendly and welcoming! The room was clean and contemporary and the bed was very comfortable! The nespresso machine in my room was awesome! I stocked up on capsules at the nespresso boutique around the corner. The hotel itself is charming. My room had a semi-private courtyard. And the location could not have been better! I would definitely love to stay there again!

Had a wonderful stay at this location. Close to the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triumph and George V metro station, the location was excellent. Despite recent media reports about the yellow vest demonstrations - we were lucky to avoid them as demonstrations only seem to occur on a Saturday. Secure access to building via a code gave us additional comfort.
The kitchenette was too small to do any cooking, and it is a shame that the coffee pods were not part of the rate (but considered an additional extra).
The amount of light in the rooms could be improved. We did find it difficult to read at night time due to low lighting.
Staff were excellent and very obliging, particularly Ines, who looked after us very well. All staff greeted us whenever we left our room or returned from a day of exploring.

We booked two rooms, although after booking via Expedia were told one room was located in another hotel as the air conditioning was broken. You should not allow booking is you cannot provide the rooms in the first instance. The check-in experience was less than desirable - was stuck outside for 10 minutes as no one was at the desk. The room itself was OK - far too expensive for the quality and size of the room. Room needs updating.

The main issue was the sound proofing of the room. I was given a room at street level, and could audibly hear each and every word spoken outside, cars travelling past etc. The air conditioning was broken - and let out this peircing high-level noise. The plumbing would also regularly make sudden and thudding noises. I had possible the worst night's sleep I have ever had - I got no more than two hours, depsite going to bed at 22:00. I will not be returning.

Area - Located 4 mins walk to the main area of Champs-Élysées and walking distance to Arc de Troimphe. This area is full of designer brands.

Room - Small but clean. The room given however was not great. Located on same floor as reception and under the staircase. Which was quite noisy at night.

Service - Some were friendlier than others.

Question - How much is city tax in Paris? I felt like the guy who checked us out overcharged us. My husband and I stayed there for 3 nights and was charged €40.88. When I asked for the receipt he said he’ll send it to me later. But it never came...

spacious, excellent, & clean room in Paris. Our two little ones enjoyed the upstair room and a nice breakfast in the terrance outside. Excellent A/C to keep us cool, we are not good with heat!! Very nice and caring staff. Walking distance to many places and easy to get to places all around. Nice & quiet surrounding in the night, just few minutes away from the busy streets. Overall the front desk staff was awesome, hard working and attentive. Our room was always cleaned, the toiletries were sometimes a little short, but all I did was ask the front desk staff. The room was on the first floor and as any expected with any City, noise was at times a little much, especially when enjoying the Parisian night life and trying to get those little extra Z's. As to the hotel's location to shopping, sites and places to eat-fabulous.

Tiny awkward Room

Taxi dropped us at 10:00pm at the address that appears in the confirmation documents (12 rue Christophe Colomb). We were told then that we were staying in a separate building two blocks away (49 Ave Marceau). We had to walk with 2 sleepy kids and 5 bags at 10:30pm!
Our reservation was for a 324sqft suite, with kitchenette. Our room was hardly 300sqft, bed was literally between two walls, no night stands. After opening the sofa bed there was NO room for the bags and/or to move around. Room photos on the web have nothing to do with the room that was given to us. They are all completely misleading. We were given WiFi passwords for each device but we never got access. We had to use roaming the entire stay. A/C-Heater can not be controlled from the room (key pad is locked and you must called to reset). Our room was too hot! Called 3 consecutive days to adjust temperature and no one came to fix. We liked the location and the apartment/hotel concept. Unfortunately, we would never stay here again, needless to say in Victor Hugo Room and do not recommend.

Not what is promised

As an avid traveler for over 20 years, I have never been compelled to provide feedback as most business owners in the service industry deal with issues when they occur, attempting their best to provide the service that was promised and paid for.

Unfortunately, this has not been the case with Hotel Helzear Etoile.

In short, they are not delivering on what they advertise. In summary:

- check in process took 5 hours.....room not ready at their specific check in time
- room reserved was not provided, despite being pre-reserved and paid for
- alternative option was not acceptable, and was presented as a take or leave it
- alternative option was against the law (too many people per room)
- promises to remedy the following day, where not followed up on and were not done
- promises to respond to further requests were ignored
- rooms do not have the kitchen advertised

Having lived in Paris for over three years, the family was really excited about our short vacation back in the city. Unfortunately, the situation and the totally disappointing lack of action from the hotel, significantly impacted the trip.

Convenient location, near the arc de triomphe, champs élysées, trains and walking distance to most landmarks.

New hotel so they are still trying to find their feet but highly recommend to stay.

Well located hotel, spacious suites for 3 people.

The suite is spacious for 3 adults, the bathroom is very good with a great shower. Comfortable beds and the location of the building is very well located. The facilities are almost new and everything works well. Some details are missing: additional chairs in the main room and next to sofa bed, a mirror outside the. Anthropomorphic and some utilities for cooking (none was available). Tha area surrounding the building is beautiful, everything (cafes, restaurants, shops, etc.) is at hand.
