When I arrived I wasn’t helped to my room. I was given a key and told where the room was. That’s no big deal. The problem is when I got into the room there were roaches in the shower area. The hotel was aware they had roaches and didn’t immediately offer a solution. I requested to leave and get a refund. The manager got on the phone and got very rude with me. He then hung up and I was forced to stay as I had no other money available to pay for a room. I want my money back in full!!!

Well wore but acceptable. Centrally location to the Sukhumvit Nana area. Good small local restaurants (one on sight). A few blocks to the elevated running/biking paths which also lead to the Lumphini park and its 3km running/biking loop (great morning run). Head for the pool to cool down and relax after a run. The kitchen had barely anything to cook with. Give a deposit, get a couple of items to cook with. To eat with, a spoon and 2 forks, a couple of plates. A microwave. The room itself is quite large. However, a big however, the only furniture besides the bed is one worn out easy chair, and half a round table (with 2 chairs). This size, should have sofa/love seat, coffee table at least. Very dirty; have to keep on bothering front desk, maids to do any cleaning, and still they do not wipe anything. A/C did work well though. Price is good, though. Extra space is useless unless you just need lots of floor space, say have 15 pieces of luggage. Front desk was polite. Very good location for food, etc, access to Nana area. Fairly quiet as a few hundred meters from the livelier part of Nana. Bed very stiff (thin old mattress).

A good sized room. All amenities present. Fridge, shower, kettle, safe (didn’t work). Fairly quiet despite the location. Fresh towels. Sheets looked clean.
Room looks tired, and the smell of cigarette smoke was off putting for a non smoker.
Budget price so all good enough.

Really like the people they work there. It’s very 1970’s. Rundown in a cool way. For the price it’s great. The rooms with the kitchens on the 3rd floor have good internet speeds. Small pool. It’s just on the edge of the Soi 4 action which offers some respite from the bars, etc.. breakfast is really god for the price.

If you get the deep discount that seems to be available on every booking site, this is a great deal. The rooms are huge, the beds are comfortable, the air con works well and there’s plenty of hot water. These are all things you often don’t find in bites at this price. Is it older? Yes. Is it a bit shabby around the edges? Yes. Is that part of its old Bangkok hotel. Charm? For me, yes. But not for everybody. But for the price and the location, this is a real steal.

This stay was perfectly nice until check out. The guy at the desk insisted I had taken a beer from the fridge, which I hadn’t. Stay was ruined over a 50 baht can of beer. Feel completely insulted and conned over this, my car was waiting to take me to the airport so could not stay and argue the fact. It feels like a deliberate tactic. Hotels need to feel trustworthy, this place doesn’t.

I ever stated it needs a major upgrade every night that I stayed here. I slept with the window open because I could not stand the smell, I would not recommend this to anybody even though it’s a great location

I’ve been coming to this hotel for over ten years but I think this was my last visit. It was always a little rough around the edges but the price, location and nice staff made it work so well. It has really gone downhill since my last stay. It’s like a hangout for scumbags, the lobby and corridors are constantly full of groups of blokes just making a lot of noise and being a general nuisance. Every night they would be shouting in the hallways no matter what the time, if you want to be able to sleep don’t stay here. My shower was broken so it was freezing cold for the whole week, the toilet leaked, the two lads doing housekeeping were awful, would mess around shouting and playing games, turn up at the room around 5pm and all they did was change towels and rearrange the bed, no cleaning of any sort. I had to buy my own toilet paper from 7-11. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience and I won’t be coming back.

Always happy with this hotel.

I’ve been coming here for over ten years now. It’s no frills but ideal. Huge rooms, pleasant staff, comfortable beds, great location. A pity the breakfast buffet didn’t come back after Covid as that was superb. The only negative I can give is that some of the other residents have no awareness of others, they will have rooms at either end of the corridor and rather than walking down to speak they will bellow at each other at all hours making a lot of noise. Not the hotel’s fault that their customers have no manners.

I have been staying here for years, the rooms are huge, the staff are friendly, it’s in a super location. It’s a little dated in the fixtures and fittings but the price and local easily outweigh that. Only issue is sometimes the other guests can be massively antisocial. I was on a floor where large groups would move between rooms, shouting and playing music at anytime they please. Possibly Cultural differences, I don’t think it’s Ok to shout down the corridor to your friend at 3am, they did. Nevertheless I stayed 10 days with no other issues.

The images of this hotel are unfortunately very unreliable, as the condition of the hotel is extremely worn down. It was very hard to sleep and relax as the street is extremely noisey and the the hotel seemed to be used for a lot of “visitors” at night. The room was a large size, however it was dirty, the bathroom was very poor and it was advertised as non smoking, however everyone was smoking. This hotel is located close to a lot of shopping centers and the train, however it was not worth the price we paid and not suitable for families. We will not be returning to this hotel.

There is no shower stall...just a handheld shower head. Though everything was clean, and the staff was friendly, this locale is just too antiquated for a recommendation. I will not stay here again.

The Royal Ivory was once a grand hotel, in the classic sense, with a vast lobby including shopping, upper class suites intended for lengthy stays and all the trappings that includes. Much of this remains, however the area has become what it is, the nana section, so a trifle seedy, and perhaps the aging of the hotel reflects this. Nevertheless, she is still a great place to stay, if this is the area you're looking for, with exceptional value for those huge rooms with king beds, kitchenette, dining area and so forth. Well worth consideration, and I for one would stay there again.

pictures on the internet were much different than actual condition. The swimming pool was dirty, I would not let my son go in it. The courtesy tuk tuk didnt operate the time we were there. The TV was very old and although hundreds of chanels, no guide, so spent 20 minutes looking for appropriate viewing.
The hotel is generally tired and old and has a smokey smell throughout.

Very large room with kitchenette and safe in room. Room was older, but well kept. The air was set to 25 with no controls so may be too warm for some. The pool was small but not used while I was there. Mattress was hard for my taste. That said, with all the amenities, I thought the property was an incredible value for the area.

Building is very run down and desperatly needs maintainance. Photos online must taken be 20 years ago and dont show current run down condition. Bed was clean and staff were great. The good: The staff was excellent! Check-in and -out was seamless! Taxi to the airport was cheaper than expected. The water pressure in the shower was awesome - those with long, thick hair (like me) can really appreciate that!! The wi-fi was steady and reliable.

The not so good: The hotel is extremely outdated. Our room smelled like an antique shop. The bed was rock hard. The breakfast is absolutely disgusting - the first day was gross, the second day we just sat there like \"we can't eat this again\" and the third and fourth day, we didn't even bother going to breakfast. The pool was horendous. There were piles of \"goober\" all over inside the pool. We stayed less than 5 minutes, left and didn't go back. What a shame, because it's a cute little pool that could be perfect for cooling off, instead we took cold showers.

I would only stay there again if they remodeled and cleaned that pool.

I booked a king bed and when I get in the room it is 2 twin beds pushed together. I’m 197cm tall and I don’t fit on a twin bed. I go back to the front desk and tell them I booked king size bed and they tell me that is there “style” of king bed. I asked they check my reservation again and that if that is all they had that they should explain that on their webpage. After shuffling some papers he changes my room and says that it has a 1 piece original king bed. This is a typical Indian owned hotel that was at one time a very nice place, but NOTHING had been done about upkeep or renewing. The tv must have been at least 15 years old and I couldn’t get it to work. The bed was ok, but the headboard was for 2 single beds and supposed to have the nightstand in between them. So with the king bed in the middle and nightstand on the side there was no access to the electrical outlet for charging of phone. The outlet on the desktop didn’t work, so the only outlet left was right beside the door yo the room. Not very handy. Also that outlet is where I had to plug in the hairdryer and then sit on the floor to dry my hair. The bathroom, when it was new, would have been very nice with granite countertop and floor to ceiling tile work, but so many years of neglect.....tile grout was so dirty, paint on the frame around the shower glass wall was almost all pealed off, the push button on top of the toilet was missing the trim around it so it was very difficult to flush. My towels had stain on them.
