The property was very comfortable and clean! I appreciated that they gave us disposable slippers for indoor use. The complimentary breakfast was very filling and very good! Close enough to all of the bars and stuff to be convenient but far enough to still be very peaceful and quite. I will be staying here again soon!

My experience at La Petite Salil 8 was far from satisfactory. The hotel is in dire need of refurbishment—scuffed walls, poor finishes, and basic amenities in disrepair. The bathroom tap spluttered and moved every time it was used.

The air conditioning was another major issue. In the first room, the AC didn’t work, and despite reporting it, staff initially just set it to 20 degrees and told me to wait. After complaining again, maintenance spent ages trying to fix it but ultimately gave up, moving me to a new room. Unfortunately, the AC didn’t work there either.

Adding to the frustration, the hotel’s shuttle service broke down during my stay and remained out of service for days, leaving me to walk down a long and narrow alley. Meanwhile, adjacent hotels had functioning shuttles, leaving me questioning why La Petite Salil 8 couldn’t afford to repair or replace theirs.

While the staff were polite and tried their best, it couldn’t make up for the overall poor condition of the hotel. For the price charged, the quality was not acceptable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until serious upgrades are made.

Have bars and restaurants at the main road and 7-Eleven located 5 minutes walk from hotel.
Friendly and helpful staffs.

Negative: Coming back from BTS station needs to walk about 15 minutes to Hotel.

I stayed here just before xmas 2022 and had an overall great experience. The staff was all smiles and friendly, especially Eye and Oui (If I am spelling the names right! Thanks for wonderful service all around. And they have a free shuttle to take you up to Sukhumvit road, which is convenient. Great location! Comfortable bedding! Everything was great!

The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly!! Praewwa was able to get repairs done quickly for some needed repairs in the bathroom. Also assisted with taxi booking. Luggage storage is also available as well as 24 hour security. Room is also cleaned very well on a daily basis.

Pleasant and friendly, good location

Perfectly good small hotel close to the sky-train and other attractions in Bangkok. We stayed for just one night before our flight back to the UK but found this hotel to be comfortable, well equipped, and the staff offered friendly service.
The hotel is about 10 mins walk to the nearest train station and 15 minutes to the famous terminal 21 mall. They also offer a shuttle golf-cart to the main road to eliminate the walk.
Rooms nicely equipped, easy to use air-con and whilst small, the room was perfect for a 1 night stopover. The bed was a firm spring one, and we did notice that if your partner moved about in bed then you would know about it, but we still slept really well.

We had an issue with the hot water however the hotel responded immediately and the staff member fixed the issue within a few minutes, and was also very polite and courteous.

Breakfast was fine, and being a smaller hotel than many in Bangkok there wasn't as much choice as you may be used to but it was all of reasonable quality, and in fact was the best rice soup I had experienced for breakfast compared to the other 3 hotels we stayed at on our holiday.

I would stay here again when visiting Bangkok.

Wouldn’t book if I have a vehicle

Advertised as car parking. Doesn’t have. If I wanted to park on the street and get up to move the car every night as parking alternate sides per day I would have booked a place without a car park, oh that’s right it doesn’t have. Hotels. Com should delete from their listings do I get a refund for false advertising. Oh and charged for a bottle of water after a weeks stay despite using my labor moving vehicles. Good luck if you book with a vehicle.

Small rooms with nicotine dripping from walls

I paid 500 to get in to my room early, no receite so i gurss it's a little scam the staff has on the side. I was given a room in the old part og the building next to the back stairs reeking of years of smoking and asked to get a new room. So they gave me a new one on the same old floor. This was a room they originally had cut in half to make an extra room. It was so small one could hardly manage to turn around, nothing like the luxus been promised on my intinary. Anyway i was just staying for two nights so i did not make a fuzz. The staff at this place was very friendly and helpful in any way one wanted exept giving me a room in the new part of the hotel. The old part management can just close down sooner than later.

Staffs lax attitude encourages scammers

Spend 8 days in Bangkok with no incident UNTIL arriving at sukhumvit soi 8. Taxi service from the airport tried to pull a well-known scam of “forgetting to use the meter” - the posted rate card clearly showed that the fair that was supposed to be 250Baht. All of sudden the driver understood English once we refused to pay the 700Baht that he claimed we agreed. The hotel “staff” then intervened but on the TAXI Drivers behalf – arguing that we should pay the fair or the driver would call the police. Later approached by the same guy to ask if we’d be interested in seeing the Grand Palace. We select 1/2 tour. Should have known better than to trust the Taxi driver’s ally! Picked up at 7am & driven to 8 hotels, switched shuttles to “pick up guests;” our guide then leaves for ½ hour to find a lost guests. By 10:30 we had spent hours on a shuttle with our destination nowhere in sight. We call Mr. Rattanopas, tour company owner, but reached hotel reception. We explained we’re in Chinatown - not the Grand Palace. The front desk staff were unhelpful/unprofessional - although” not associated” with Exclusive Tours Thailand Co., Ltd they allow this company to run shop from their lobby plus to list their hotel phone/address on his business card. The staff doesn’t get that if you allow someone to do business in your business that directly affects you. Unfortunate that so many people try the “don’t speak English” trip to manipulate situations. Very difficult to have anything good to comment.

Okay for the price but not great.

They offer a free golf cart transfer to and from the main road (near the Nana BTS). We had an issue with pipe work going on outside so were without water for 13 hours. Despite this, the staff refused to give us a free late checkout and said it would be 500 baht. We thought about this option and ultimately decided to go for it. When we returned to the counter, the staff said it would be 800 baht for late check out. I'm unsure if the staff just makes up the charge each time or what. It seemed a bit weird.

The room was okay--bed was very hard but the AC worked well and the size was good. The shower did not have good pressure (we were on the third floor) and it was very difficult to have it hold a single temperature (it was either cold or boiling hot).

Overall, the room and location were okay for the price.

Like the peacefulness of the street. Although the hotel is located deep inside but we don't have any problem reaching bts station or 711 as it provides buggy For 24 hours. Overall is good until you met a crazy customers who staying next to you shouting and laughing in the midnight.

Our stay at the Salil Hotel was a positive experience. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Bangkok.

Pros: location close to sky train, free golf cart shuttle service, large comfortable room, friendly staff, clean rooms, air conditioning, great wifi, great area for food, massage and shopping

Cons: walk back from Sukuhmvit without golf cart was about 10 minutes each time.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We prebooked a transfer service from the airport to the hotel cause most taxis don't know precisely where it is. It's took us about 45 min from the airport with moderate traffic. Check-in is at 2 pm. Upon our arrival we promptly checked-in and was brought to the room. The room was a bit small, good for 2 people only approximately 30 sqm including the bathroom. A queen sized bed was at the center with 2-3 feet of space from the bed to the side walls. The tv was about a meter from the edge of the bed. Air conditioning was on the roof And blowing directly on the bed. Bathroom has a tub, good sized toilet and had good pressure and hot water. Staff were very courteous. Breakfast was repeated every 3 days. They had cereal, rice, 2-3 viands and a vegetable dish alongside your choice of egg.
The place is about 10 min walk from the Nana BTS station and the hotel provides a golf cart to ferry you to the station. To go back to the hotel you can either walk back or ride a tuktuk for about 40 baht. This hotel is very convenient as it is midpoint between terminal 21 (Asoke BTS station) or go the other way to get to Siam paragon (Siam paragon) or MBK.

Nice hotel , excellent location , friendly staff, clean but a little dated ...The breakfast was ok , one person, one egg policy really annoyed me ..fix the breakfast and paint the walls then it it would be 4.5 star hotel ...would return , but would try Citadines hotel across the street first , wish I knew it was there , used them before ..great breakfast, pool , more modern .
The Salil Hotel is more quaint and cozy , older style architecture ....either way you can not top the location.

Having cake and eating it

The hotel is near Nana on the Skytrain line and 10-15 minutes easy walk from Sukumvit (excuse spelling) on the metro line. There are bars, restaurants, markets, the general chaos of Bangkok all 5 minutes walk. Yet it is in a very quiet part of a side street, so no trouble sleeping. The rooms are sweet, always very clean and spacious. The staff are also helpful and polite. Would definitely go again.

By the way, I've book a twin bedroom, and it give me a double bedroom. And I'm book in Chinese website, I'm pretty sure the terms CAN NOT be confused.

No GEM, No park, No swimming pool. How about the hotel's facility? You must be kidding me.

The WIFI is unavailable. The hot-water system is in trouble. And the last thing, the price is non-competitive.

I used to book an awesome hotel at BangKok 2 days before,and it got a awesome bedroom, awesome swimming pool, awesome services even better location, and only 10USD higher than this.

Basic room was small but ok. Staff were very friendly, Breakfast was pretty good. Our room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke and we were moved into another room. There were some hairs floating around on the sheets and floors. The bathroom shower needed a good scrub! Overall it was ok, the location was quiet and close to everything. This small boutique hotel has a lot of potential and could be of a very good standard if rooms were cleaned a little more and showers updated.

We stayed at this hotel during our trip through Thailand. We started our trip in Bangkok and stayed here for 3 nights, and liked the location and hotel enough to book it for three more nights at the end of our trip 3 weeks later. The rooms are cozy and the location is great! It's close enough to the BTS to get you anywhere, yet far enough down a little soi to avoid to much traffic and noise. The hotel has a golf cart that can take you down to the main street if you don't feel like doing the 5 minute walk. Nice perk for when you're tired. The soi its on also is lively with food carts and restaurants and massages. Great spot!

My second stay at this hotel. Great friendly staff are always eager to assist with any request you have. Great breakfast too so you will always be ready for a big day of shopping.
Hotel itself is nice and quiet being a few minutes walk from Sukhumvit rd. Soi 8 has several other hotels and many apartment complexes each with security guards so the walk back to the hotel always feels very safe. The hotel also provides a shuttle service for those who do not wish to walk.
There is a BTS station at the Soi entrance so you are easily connected to all the popular spots in the city.
Overall, this is a great hotel. Excellent value for money.

the bed sheet was dirty, and seems like the hotel didn't clean up after the the previous check out. the leftover bottle of water was in the fridge. they didn't fill up the minibar before we checked in, and when we checked out, they assumed that we consumed the bottle of water, even through they didn't charge us after we explained to them, still not a very good experience. the lobby is very smelly.

Hotel is located in the quiet part at the end of a street. Convenient to restaurants and delicious street food at the end of the block. The hotel has a golf cart that will take you to the end of the block or it's an easy walk to the main road. Room was clean. TV had English channels. Bathroom was small and could use just a bit of TLC but definitely clean. Lobby was clean. Breakfast was o.k. Taxi's service the street. Building was in good condition. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel. WIFI was an issue the 2nd day.

Decent hotel in a good area

Room was a bit cramped, but comfortable. Staff are quite friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was good. Wifi works well (a bit slow) but you have to keep re-connecting to it (their set up requires you to re-enter your username and p/w each and every time you reconnect to it - PAINFUL!) Soi 8 is a good location, close to shops and restaurants and the sky train is right there, but the hotel is at the end of the street, so a 5-10 minute walk. They have a shuttle to take you there and back - it's almost always available to take you from the hotel to the intersection but not when you come back

Brilliant Hotel

I have been to Bangkok six times now and this hotel is as just what I was looking for, all the facilities at a sensible price. The room was comfortable although I did find the bed a bit firm but after mentioning to to reception it was changed to a softer but still firm setting, now that's what I call service. The only problem I had was with breakfast and try as I may I always seemed to confuse the Chef, but there again I am fussy and hard to please. When I come again I will certainly see if they have rooms.

I stayed here a few times. The hotel is small but clean and the rooms are colorful and bright. The staff are friendly - especially the bellhop who was very helpful and accomodating. For my purposes, it was very conveniently located but might be a little far from the main street for others.

No pools or patios or anything fancy, but I will stay here again when business takes me back to Bangkok.

This hotel is nothing special - not a resort etc. But for someone who wants a decent hotel that is clean, easy and flexible (I was allowed to check out a couple of hours late), this place is perfect. It's not a bad location - close enough to metro to make it easy to get to from the airport without traffic. It does make it a little far from the river and tourist attractions but that can be dealt with easily -I would prefer to travel that distance without luggage.Oh and special mention to the bathroom - very spacious.

Nice little hotel

I didn't know they provide pick up service from BTS station. It is quite handy for me to save time walking 10 mins with all the bags. Food is great. Free DVD to borrow. Room is not big but quite nicely decorated.

Cheap and cheerful

It's not the Ritz but you aren't paying Ritz money!It's clean,safe,secure,staff are helpful & polite.If you just need a place to get your head down & no frills accommodation this is it- I'd stay here again.

Boutique Hotel at Central Location in Bangkok .

The Hotel is quite far in from main road but no worry they have tuk-tuk services by the hotel . We book 5 rooms and stay two nights the breakfast is ok but not much choice and the veraity is the same everyday . Hotel aircon in lobby is not on during the daytime and you can imagine the hot weather in Bangkok .The good things I like about is the receptionist prompt services .

Great location, tucked away along Soi 8

Fantastic stay. Great hotel. Tucked away down Soi 8 which was nice and quiet however only a short stroll to the action. Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended friends and family stay there too!

Nice & quiet location

This was a nice & clean welcoming hotel, the room was comfortable & it's in a quiet location..The tuk tuk service wasn't functioning whilst we were there, but it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the main road. The only surprise was that they tried to charge us for the complimentary water, even though I'd checked the mini bar price list & it said that they were free..Apparently they'd forgotten to put the complimentary ones in our room & after I got a bit annoyed it was soon sorted out ..I'd stay here again though as it is a really nice place.

Nice hotel, but....

Hotel looked nice & the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, the toilet in my room became blocked and there was a faint scent of sewage around the place.... drainage issues. The bed was uncomfortable which was very disappointing.

Nice hotel

Room is clean and comfortable. They provided tuktuk to drop and pick up us from mrt stn. Staffs are helpful. I thought the only problem is \"wifi is unstable and I have to fill up password several times\". It would be great hotel option if this issue could be sort out.

Salil Hotel in Bangkok

We stayed in interconnecting rooms at Salil for 2 nights. Our rooms weren't up to the standard shown on the website but were adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms had dvd players and free use of dvds which was a great way to relax after a long day shopping. I've stayed in Soi 8 before and love the ambience of the street and location - particularly after we found we could call for the hotel's tuk tuk to pick us up from Nana station. The only thing that let Salil down was the cleanliness of the linen but maybe we were just unlucky. Despite this, the positives outweigh the negatives and I would stay here again.
