I expected something average but got something truely exceptional. I can say without doubt this was the most comfortable, clean, roomy, well maintained and beautifully renovated accommodation I have EVER stayed in. The staff were super friendly. The breakfast was exquisite. The pub itself is charming and the dinner menu full of local produce and the meal I had was delicious. I was worried about where to park the car in such a tiny village but there is a big car park at the back. Definitely recommend. 11 stars!

Beautiful spot and a lovely stretch of legs around the white cottage village. Some confusion over breakfast times with the landlord which got resolved but best to make it clear breakfast is not served until 9am if a business traveller this is too late. (i was asked if i stay in country pubs and i do 47 so far this year) Food was good quality i loved the chicken bites delicious. The room could do with a chair as you have to put luggage on the floor although the room is very small.

One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in lovely big shower. The food was magnificent.A lot of choice of local produce perfectly cooked and coped wonderfully with my allergies. We had a lovely overnight stay at this inn. The room was great , very clean , quality fixtures and fittings. Bed very comfortable, quality bed linens. Spacious ensuite , plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the shower. Showe gel , shampoo and towels all provided.

We arrived at the “who’d have thought it”, to an amazing welcome. All of the staff was exceptional and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was spotless and welcoming, while we were there we had a meal in their restaurant and again very friendly staff and the meal was fantastic. We will definitely be booking again to come back.

A really old pub in a remote part of the Tamar Valley AONB with lots of character. The meal that we had was excellent and there was a good selection of wines to choose from. The accommodation was also excellent and way above what we were expecting for a B&B attached to a pub. The staff were very friendly and made us really welcome. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

We spent a night here en route to ferry for Spain. Lovely room and everyone very friendly especially Becky who served us dinner and drinks and helped us with TV and Fiona who gave us breakfast next morning..the Inn is very old and full of charm, highly recommend a stay there and hope to return.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for one night to celebrate his 50th Birthday and to go walking in Dartmoor for a few days. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, Dinner and Breakfast were delicious and the staff and service was brilliant. We would definitively recommend a visit.

The staff were fantastic. The property had issues beyond the staffs control. No heating (waiting on a part). Apparently had Gas issues and could only cook certain foods.
We did get a small oil heater for our room. The room itself was great. Comfortable and the bed was awesome.
Here's a thought, if your going to be dog friendly, maybe a dog bin would be a great addition.
Overall we had a nice stay, just had problems beyond our control.

Lovely traditional Devon Pub B&B
It was over 30 years ago that I last lived in Devon and this was a favourite pub. It was great to see it again pretty much as I remembered it. A warm welcome from staff, great beer and hearty food portion sizes well cooked. A pleasant room with all amenities and good shower. Excellent full breakfast and all great value for money at £90/night B&B.

My husband & I recently stayed at The Who’d Have Thought It for 5 nights for our mini honeymoon. Tucked away & nestled down narrow lanes in Milton Combe on the edge of Dartmoor, is this quaint & charming old pub which really has it all. Our accommodation was clean, light & airy with a cosy king size bed, together with the relaxing sound of the nearby stream outside our window.
All the staff were extremely welcoming & friendly, Matt you have a superb team there. Compliments to the chefs too for creating a range of delicious meals ( our favourite has to be the fish of the day with prawn & crab chowder, just stunning ! ). There’s a nice selection of local ales too, especially Jail & Wolf. The daily cooked breakfasts kept us filled well into the afternoon, thanks Fiona !

It was 16th century so quirky and pretty. Rooms were clean, bed comfy and shower powerful. Landlord was friendly and even donated to the cause we were walking on Dartmoor for! Food was amazing and although early start meant we’d miss breakfast, landlord left pain au chocolate, croissants and orange juice outside our room. Could not fault the service, highly recommended and we will stay there again.

Only stayed for one evening as I was travelling for work. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Restaurant was really busy but the owner had called me the night before and warned me they had a lot of bookings so I managed to reserve a table then. Food was very good and there was a friendly atmosphere in the restaurant itself. As I was here on business I didn’t get time to explore unfortunately but the village is close to Dartmoor National Park and not far from Plymouth.

Beautiful Inn on the edge of Dartmoor
Absolutely fabulous stay at the Who’d have thought it. It’s a glorious C16 inn, with a really lovely interior & some great rooms. We stayed for just one night, which was far too short really. We arrived after a 7h drive to be warmly greeted by Martin & the team. We were too late to eat here, but we’re given recommendations for alternatives & found a good place just up the road.
Our room was beautiful! A super king bed in an oak beamed room with a good bathroom was just perfect. And then, the icing on the cake - a hearty full English, cooked to perfection! A really great place to stay, right on the edge of Dartmoor. Highly recommended!

We booked this at the very last minute for a few nights and we are so glad we did. The Inn is set in a very remote and quiet village in Devon, very near to the border of Cornwall and is also on the edge of Dartmoor national park. For us the location was perfect to explore some of Devon and Cornwall.
The Inn was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The car park is large and tucked away around the back of the inn and is very safe. They have local ciders and ales on tap and the food was very good. Prices for drinks and food were also good. They are also pet friendly.
But for us what really made this little gem stand out even more, was the staff. Matt, Jo and Fiona made us feel so welcome and were so helpful and friendly at all times. It was sad for us to leave as we arrived as guests but departed as friends. We will be back and we will recommend to everyone. We can not wait to return.
