Bar staff were wonderful and helpful, always trying to go the extra mile in making our stay special and relaxed. Breakfast was delicious and fresh every day. Would definitely recommend staying here for anyone visiting Santorini.

This property was a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of Oia just steps away. The village of Finikia was charming with some lovely restaurants to choose from. Highly recommend Meze Meze. The hotel itself is a very cool open aired concept with stunning views to watch the sunset. The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast that they serve you in the morning is top notch and plentiful. If you are looking for a place that serves dinner this is not the spot for you. This hotel is very relaxed & chill. Absolutely terrible experience. This property was nothing like what was advertised and completely ruined what was supposed to be a dream family trip.

The TV didn’t work the entire stay, WiFi barely worked, lights were broken or hanging dangerously low from the ceiling, the air conditioning was unreliable, and the sink was completely clogged. The “minibar and refrigerator” turned out to be one tiny overheating mini fridge that had to be unplugged just to use the kettle. There were no utensils, no dishes, and no wardrobe despite it being listed in the booking.

The private pool was dirty, pool lights didn’t work, and the jets only worked occasionally. The whole place felt neglected and poorly maintained.

The worst part was the complete lack of staff and communication. After 5pm the place became a ghost town. Messages and emails were ignored for days. My daughter had an allergic reaction and we urgently needed ice, but there was nobody anywhere to help us. Other guests were also walking around trying to find staff because nobody could get assistance. During our stay we saw multiple guests leave within 24 hours because they were so unhappy, and new guests arriving who couldn’t even check in properly and were extremely annoyed trying to find someone to help them.

We were also given false information about taxis accepting card payments, which left us stranded with no cash.

This was honestly one of the most disappointing travel experiences we’ve ever had. Completely false advert

BEWARE...PROPERTY IS NOT THE ONE DESCRIBED. Greeted by a member of staff straight from the transfer (that was pre arranged) taken straight to our room. The room and size were ok, it was pretty although there were some signs of wear and tear. A leak down the wall in the hallway, and some MDF above the main door that may have been a temporary fix for something. We quickly discovered the left hand side of the property was out of electricity, so we had to move the fridge. Someone came to look at it. But the problem wasn't fixed. We took a stroll and thought we'd take a dip in the pool. We couldn't find it. Couldn't get hold of the contact so thought we'd try and find reception. We walked into a neighbouring business who called the hotel for us. The lady answered and abruptly told us there was no reception and no pool. Yet both were described or pictured on the booking. We then tried to contact the staff via phone but they wouldn't answer again. We simply wanted to leave and get a refund as the property is not the one in the pictures. We got a text \"I'll speak with you tomorrow!\" With exclamation mark. The following day the member of staff came to us and told us due to Easter no staff were available. If that's the case they shouldn't be open over that period?! We said we don't care if it's a religious holiday, as we were on honeymoon and their business was open. We were told, \"well I don't care it's your honeymoon.\" Worst travel experience I've ever had.

Originally I was supposed to stay at this hotel but due to the storm the property was damage. They were able to move me to another sister hotel near by in Oia, It was extremely gorgeous and it was an upgrade, but it didn't quite fit our trip. We reached out to the manager and she was able to accommodate us to another hotel. It was absolutely beautiful and stunning. The views we got from seeing the sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The breakfast was really good!! Definitely would come back again and stay with Sophia Hotels again!

The location was very good ! Walking distance to the blue churches but the room itself has no ventilation it so wet inside case of the moisture and it’s stinks , I have to leave the windows open all the time and we noticed that the bathroom have black molds .

The stay was wonderful! The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but that wasn’t an issue since there are plenty of fantastic restaurants and cafés in town to choose from. We stayed 6 days. After a while you want something different for breakfast, so it was no fault to the property.

One tip for travelers — take the local bus instead of a taxi or private car. The bus is clean, comfortable, and very reliable, costing only about €2 per person each way. In comparison, taxis and private transfers can run between $35–$45 one way, so the bus is definitely the smarter and more budget-friendly option. Altogether, a good trip.

Overall our experience was not great due to the service being not very hospitable, the furnishings old and not kept up, and less clean than expected. Rust on the hinges, black spots on the sink basin, very dirty outdoor lounge cushions. Would expect more for what we paid. The location is also a bit out of the way.

Great location within walking distance to Oia, in a quiet and safe area. The pool area is beautiful, with some rooms offering pools that overlook the ocean—very boho style and charming. The only downside was the water service: they mentioned they would refill the in-room water bottles daily, but during our two-day stay, this wasn’t done, even after I asked at reception. When we moved to a new room, the same issue happened. Aside from that, the staff was very nice and helpful. If you want to stay close to Oia without splurging, this is a solid option

Nightmare Honeymoon – Avoid This Hotel!

Our honeymoon stay at this hotel was a complete disaster. The hotel was almost impossible to find, with many uneven steps down a hill that make carrying suitcases extremely difficult.

Our room was shocking: it smelled bad, the shower was broken, the balcony shutter didn’t work, and the room was never cleaned during our entire 4-night stay. The pool was cold, filthy, and eventually swarmed with insects. The website promised welcome drinks and a fruit platter, which we never received.

When we raised all these issues, the staff were completely indifferent and offered no solutions. For the price we paid, this stay was unacceptable. We would strongly warn anyone against booking this hotel, especially for a special occasion.

Very hard to get to and nobody to help get luggage down to the hotel. The lady with long brown hair was wonderful at check in and throughout the stay. The lady with blond e hair was VERY rude.
The overall stay was ok. The shower design is terrible and water goes everywhere in the bathroom. Needs a shower curtain or door. They wouldn’t wash our towels each day as it would cost extra. They had no hand soap in the room so there was nothing to was your hands with. I asked the blonde lady for some hand soap and she said “that’s what we provide shampoo for”. There is also no coffee provided in the room. This was a let down. We also tried to order something from the bar and was told there was nobody there to make us anything. Very unacceptable. The pool water and plunge pool were frigid! Couldn’t enjoy those.
Not sure I would stay here again.
Views were amazing though.

We had difficulty locating the hotel from the main road, since it’s tucked down a hillside across the street from the parking, which had little signage. We stayed in a superior double suite with plunge pool. Our room was very small. No space for clothes or counters/shelves to set items. No room for toiletries. They only change towels every three days. Small fridge but it had stuff in it when we got there. The power went on and off, we were never notified about the issue. Witnessed some uncomfortable and, frankly, unprofessional conversations between staff when we tried to lay out by the big pool. Yelling amongst the staff lasted most of the afternoon. Our corner room had VERY little privacy. The plunge pool was advertised at “private” but the room we stayed in overlooked the entire deck, bar, and reception desk, so we didn’t have any privacy. We found we couldn’t keep any of our doors/windows open without being seen by neighbors or staff. The walls were very thin, we could hear doors open and shut, people talking, other noises from our neighbors. We spent roughly the same price on a hotel on the nearby island, Ios, that was MUCH nicer, which was disappointing for us considering we spent six of our seven nights here. Our biggest complaint was, my expensive headphones were stolen by housekeeping. Fortunately, I was able to track them moving afterward. When I contacted the hotel about this, they ghosted me. Overall, very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

I would stay away from this property. We were not able to use an amenity (the personal hot pool) due to the heater being broken. It was frigid. The property did nothing to fix this issue throughout the duration of our stay. Having access to a personal hot pool was the primary reason we booked it, and so, it was a complete disappointment. They refused to offer any refund for the lack of amenity use and for not delivering on what they said they offer, which is extremely poor customer service. The breakfast was average, and often arrived cold. There were ants in our room and the 'superior suites' are very tiny.

Beautiful property. We received a fruit platter upon arrival but there is no food in the area this time of year. That was a unfortunate but the fruit and wine at check in helped.
The parking lot is a little hard to find. It is off the main road and you should not follow your digital map as you will have to back up a very narrow road from where the hotel is actually located. Unfortunately, no one was answering the reception when we called for location help but they were there when we arrived on foot.
Please note the plunge pool is not warm enough in early/mid March but it was very clean and beautiful.
We loved our stay here but my comments are to help manage expectations. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast is wonderful. The location does not case the caldera but the view is phenomenal especially at sunset.

I do not leave reviews often but I felt like I needed to after staying here. Let me start by saying it is a beautiful property that is well maintained and clean. With that being said, make sure you look at the square footage of the room you’re booking prior to actually booking it. Our room was a superior double room with plunge pool and was extremely small. I was traveling with my best friend, and the only shower in the room is completely open with no curtain or door. There is no privacy in the room. If you are a private person this is not for you. There is also no space to store anything. Our plunge pool didn’t look like it was cleaned prior to our stay, however we did see it being cleaned during our stay, but it becomes dirty very easily without even using it. The most unfortunate part of our stay was our interaction with the receptionist. He was rude and not helpful. We inquired about taking the bus (with the bus stop being quite literally outside the hotel) and he refused to give us information, and only provided us information to take a private transfer ($15 to Oia and $35 to Fira). Oia is not more than a 15 minute walk, and it’s $1.60 by bus, so this seemed ridiculous. We ended up asking the staff at a nearby restaurant to assist us, which proved to be much more helpful. The rest of the staff and the other receptionist were very nice and welcoming.

Just far enough away from OIA to be quiet and restful. Only 15 minute walk to the crowds of OIA. There was a wonderful restaurant only 5 minutes walk (Lefkes) where we had the best dinner of our trip at a very reasonable price. The view to the Aegean Sea from our room and the pool area was beautiful. We could watch the sunset while sitting at our small, private pool right outside our room. At night, we left the front door open for the cool night air. The rooms are very private. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They can arrange outings or transportation. If we go back to Santorini, we will stay there again.

Where to begin with our spectacular stay at Sophia Boutique Hotel?
First, the entire staff is the most accomodating group on the entire island of Santorini. They made our arrival transportation from the ferry port to the hotel as easy as possible, which was a huge relief as someone visiting Greece for the first time. Upon our arrival, our bags were brought to our room while Anna Maria helped us plan our week.
Each morning, we were pleasantly greeted with a personalized breakfast platter that's arranged each prior day from a wide range of options. Once you experience a service like that, it sets the bar for every hotel you plan to visit in the future.
If you have any special occasions you're celebrating during your time in Santorini, the team at Sophia Boutique Hotel will make it even more special. They went out of their way to arrange flowers, candles, champagne, and a whole cake as a surprise for our return from a day spent in Oia.
If you're planning to visit Santorini, your first choice when deciding on a hotel should be Sophia Boutique Hotel.

Lovely hotel and staff are just so wonderful, really cannot do enough for you.
Beds are so comfortable, robes etc all provided and toiletries in room. Plunge pools are a lovely little addition!
Hotel is not caldera facing but there are plenty of places nearby to see the sunset and we would definitely choose to stay here again.
Breakfast served to your door / terrace each morning is fab and such good quality.
Hotel is about a 15-20 min walk into Oia town with a mini market and car rental along the route. Great option just out of the town away from busy Oia, although we visited during the pandemic so nowhere was too busy and we got the opportunity to see Santorini in a more chilled way than normal.

The perfect peaceful alternative to central Oia

This hotel is a real gem and everything we hoped it would be. It’s a 10 min walk from Oia (uphill on the way back) which we were happy to do as it meant the hotel was more peaceful and private, being outside the hustle and bustle of the main town. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making suggestions for restaurants, arranging reservations and checking in on us regularly to ensure we were having a good trip. The rooms are small but beautifully designed and decorated and the plunge pool was just perfect. We had the triple room with just 3 people staying but the outside area was larger than the standard double rooms and we really enjoyed this extra space and spent most of our time here. The breakfasts are incredible, a good variety, big portions and nice to be able to take it on your terrace or by the pool. My only comments on improvements would be around the housekeeping. The rooms were clean but frequently they forgot to restock things such as hand towels and cups (which they forgot nearly every day). Once we asked reception these items were brought immediately but it would have been nice not to need to ask. However this was a small inconvenience for an otherwise brilliant stay. I would definitely recommend this place and stay again if I was returning to Santorini

Best hotel! We loved the amenities at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The breakfast was unbelievably good! The private pools were perfect. The design of the hotel is amazing and so relaxing. Can I live here?
