We checked, the person at the front desk was pleasant at first. We went to the room, upon entering we smelled a dusty aroma - it was unbearable so we started spraying cologne to help. The AC was also not cold enough. The fan made a squeaky sound. There were also mosquitoes.

When we attempted to shower, the bathroom hole was clogged and flooded the bathroom. We took videos and brought it to front desk's attention. He immediately contacted a grounds person to fix it - the guy acted bothered, came in - fixed the clog and left the bathroom and room as is (water was still present as it flooded).

At this point, we were searching for another hotel to stay at. Simple courtesy would have been to mop the water up. We went outside to attempt to bring it to the person at the front desk's attention - he was busy with a group of clients checking in and seemed irritated to see us again. He told us to sit and wait - at that point, I was annoyed, we went to the room, packed our belongings, booked another hotel and asked to be checked out.

The front desk person seemed not to care, and seem oblivious to the issues we already faced. Little does the company know - we are travel directors. The Whala brand has now left a very bitter taste - a horrible first experience. I'm requesting a refund and for you to look into their Urban Punta Cana property - it is not up to standard.

This is a great place to stay if you dont want to spend a fortune at an all inclusive. Very nice pool/bar restaurant with great food. Shuttle to and from the beaches, and near a mini mart, pharmacy and other food spots. The only complaint i had was i didnt have hot water. Not sure if it was only my room. So if thats important to you beware. Other than that, great staff and hotel!

The room- doors and windows didnt latch properly. Had to use coat hangers to secure window and sliding door. Main door put a chair as dead bolt didnt work. Floor was very dirty. Bathroom cabinets doors broken. Fridge ran water on the floor. waited for maintenance to fix doors gave up afterr 2.5 hours and put the do not disturb sign up. Someone knocked loudly on door about 1/2 after that did not say who they were just asked if i spoke spanish. Not impressed.

Good day the reason we gave this hotel of three star is because the washroom was dirty. The door was hanging off one of the cabinets underneath the sink. The pillowcases were stained. The pillows were different sizes.
The showerhead was loose about to fall off the wall and for the price of renting this room is way too high. There are way nicer hotels in the area for less money. We were there a few years ago and we really enjoyed staying here and that’s why we came back, but after what we saw this time, we’re not coming back at all. The staff was good friendly and the breakfast was OK not too much to Select From. The selection was very poor. This hotel has a great location, not too far away from the airport but if you guys continue the way you are, you’re gonna lose business.

After flight being canceled for 3 days couldn't have found a better comfortable place to stay...will be returning

The security was no help. I had to call the embassy. It’s nasty. Not a good resort. You guys should not be backing them and posting stores. If you guys look at the reviews they’re scamming they’re treating customers horrible I really wish I could’ve got a refund I needed help.

There are several things that needs work, from check in to the actual room. I will post another review as I had several reservations.
1. No wash cloths/ rag provided. Where in the world does a hotel inform guest that they do not provide rags/wash cloth and we should go off property to purchase our own? Please fix this. This is one of the essential things that a hotel SHOULD provide

2. One keycard - 3 adults booked a room and we had so much inconvenience as we all had to share one key. If someone was showering or sleeping we had to go to the front desk to get let in. They would automatically cancel the OTHER key. The front desk told us it was not possible to make two keys. FIX THIS!!! remember you are in the service industry. Do better that’s how you get repeat customers.

So reality is I’m a hotel owner as well. And the property is nice. The service could seriously use upgrading better training in customer service. I shouldn’t have to go to the desk twice in an a few hours to remind you to bring me towels or sheets for the pull out bed. Just do better.

WORSE HOTEL STAY EVER!!

The staff are unfriendly, unwelcoming, and a little rude. When I first checked in, the male receptionist at the front didn't acknowledge me at first, even though we made eye contact as I walked in. He just stood there and didn't say anything, which was very odd. The breakfast was awful. The food was either stale or looked old. The a la carte menu was disappointing. The servers were rude. The sliding door to the \"balcony\" was broken so the door didn't lock. Since I was on the first floor this was definitely a safety concern. The view from the room was a concrete wall with barbed wire, which was an unappealing sight. On the day I decided to leave early, a man casually walked past my balcony area. I went to the receptionist to check out early and cancel my reservation. I only stayed 2 nights. I had a separate reservation for 3 additional nights that I wanted to cancel. I was told that I would have to contact Expedia to get my refund. I contacted a representative from Hotels.com and I was informed that the hotel management would not process my refund due to their \"policy!\" On the day that I left the hotel, I ordered an Uber to take me to a different hotel. The security would not let me Uber ride onto the premises to pick me up so I had to walk down to the street to get in my Uber which was ridiculous. My Uber driver informed me that the security guards there are awful and guests complain about whalaurban all of the time and say it is the worst. Spend your money elsewhere!

It is a very good property for the money. Would highly recommend for a person on a tight budget. I stayed here for 2 nights as I had planned for a soana island tour. I did not want to waste my entire day on the tour staying at an all inclusive resort.

Doña Rosa definitely took good care of us, upgraded us to a suite and what a beautiful stay! Pool was awesome and perfect temperature, food was awsome, we had a charbroiled burger was delicious, some coco flan and coffe also, pina colada was on point! Will definitely come back here, close to everything, free shuttle to beach and so much more!

It is a nice place to stay small property but nice and clean but the breakfast has poor quality. They charge 10.00 USD per person for breast which they say it is a buffet but the food was horrible taste, the mangu which it is the traditional dish horrible taste hot dog poor quality everything was horrible. Eating outside the restaurant is worth. My husband and I went to eat outside and was excellent and same price as the hotel. Except one day we decided to give a try to Whala. Dont eat in Whala food is poor quality horrible taste.

Great pool and indoor patio. We were a group that rented 4 rooms. All of them in the 3rd floor.
None of them had functioning air conditioning. Reported multiple times and just got round around answers. After 4 hours my room was change and there wan not much difference in the new one. I do not recomend this hotel.

When I arrived I was given one key. The one key controls the entire room. It’s extremely hot in the room and when you leave you have to take the key. Also, the network to connect to Netflix and other apps were not working and they informed us it wasn’t working. Additionally, they gave us no wash clothes. The guy at the front desk was NOT helpful at all. He disappeared several times. We felt unsafe due to some health conditions. I’ve been requesting a refund and no one at the reservations department has answered Expedia. Be aware of this place!

From desk comunicación was very bad They only give you a piece of paper to sign and fill it out. Some questions they don’t tell you nothing about the Wi-Fi. They don’t tell you. Nothing About The Breakfast. They don’t tell you anything about communication around. Also, the room is not the same as it shows on the picture. Also, the AC didn’t work three times. I reported it and they come out. We’re gonna check and nothing happened. The blanket of the bed. It was awful hair de dinner. La de David Before Was scanner crimping. Espagueti seafood was not the same. Not very friendly hotel, and they don’t help you with communication. They communication with our Customer is out of control.
