En general las facilidades hermosas y el personal muy amable. Me sentía complacida con la experiencia en general, hasta que hubo un apagón que se extendió toda la noche en lo que debía ser nuestra última noche para disfrutar de las facilidades. Todo fue muy incómodo, nos quedamos a oscuras en pleno show bailable. En consecuencia además se fue el agua así que hasta tuvimos que dormir sin bañarnos y sin aire. Pude percibir que no hay un plan de emergencia. Fuimos al cuarto alumbrándonos con el celular. Me sentí estresada, insegura y decepcionada.

We had an amazing stay! The food was alright some restaurants much better than others such as Inari & El Asador. Overall was excellent.
But one opportunity is the cleanliness of the cups, plates and related things. They cleaned the cups only with water and handy wipes. The cups were with bad odor all days. You can see them doing it in a daily basis, so is normal form them. Maybe they need to be trained so they can avoid infections and other health situations than can be happening right now. They wash the cups, take them to a trash can and reuse the cups in that very moment.

food was super mid, if you thinking of staying at the adults only— please know kids and families still have access to walk through the adults only premises. Every morning i was woken up at 8-9am by kids running around and crying. Will not go back as i couldn’t relax. The staff was super friendly and helpful. You’ll need reservations for every restaurant on site except the valley which is open 24/7. The room service food was awful. This is literally false advertisement.

A more beautiful and trendy resort for the price you will not find! I fell in love with this place within a couple of hours and I’m booking it again for 6 months time!
The grounds are breathtaking and felt like I was in a jungle forest bathing all the time. The saxophonist in the lobby bar did it for me ! Most beautiful time. Food room everything better than others I’ve been to.

Overall we absolutely loved our stay. The variety of activities and food was great. And the different environments from quiet pools to party music had us entertained and relaxed the entire time. I do wish there was a jacuzzi by a pool but the 25 min at the hydro spa was good too. We had a swim up pool which made it nice for slow nights or quiet private mornings. The shows in the theater were great entertainment after dinners and the games in the pool were fun to watch

I will start with saying we loved this resort and would stay there again. Food options great. Pools great. Beach was great. Bar tenders were rude unless you are female but all other staff were great. Our only real issue was with housekeeping. They never filled our mini bar and snacks the entire week we were there and they never left enough towels or wash cloths for those in the room. Stay away from Nexus Tours - they take your money and then don’t deliver. Also watch the golf carts coming around the corners. But once again we WOULD stay there again.

This was the most disappointing and frustrating experience we have ever had on a trip. The service at this hotel is abysmal, starting with the front desk staff, who right from the start tried to charge us an extra $134 per night for an upgrade to which I was entitled as an Expedia Platinum member. This is an upgrade I have consistently received at every other hotel that offers this perk; however, because this place tries to squeeze a profit out of everything, they chose not to honor it. Instead, they fabricated all sorts of excuses to justify their actions to Expedia even though, right to my face, they had explicitly asked me for extra money. The receptionist displayed a terrible, rude attitude, and they actually preferred to leave rooms empty rather than provide us with the service.
I booked this hotel as an \"adults-only\" property, yet there are children everywhere; it is *not* an adults-exclusive resort. Everyone is mixed together, and you have to constantly search for the designated adults-only zones and even then, children still manage to get in! You see them in every hallway, and starting at 6:00 AM, they are already screaming right outside the guest rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it is a complete waste of potential given the terrible service and lack of professionalism among the staff. I gave it one star because zero wasn't an option. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel; I would not return, nor would I ever recommend it to everyone.

For starters the food was amazing! The staff were half decent, rude, and RACIST. When they think you can’t speak Spanish they say rude things about you in Spanish. Upon leaving the resort the staff made my group go through the detectors multiple times and accused us of stealing towels from them. Once they realized we didn’t steal they gave no apology and proceeded to keep us at the hotel in the driveway until they found all the check out tickets that THEY misplaced due to their accusations. Don’t think I’ll be returning due to the rude staff. My swim up room was splendid and again so was the food. I wish the staff had more etiquette.

RACIST! The staff are rude and disrespectful. My group of 12 were discriminated against and picked on the entire trip. If you don’t speak Spanish, they take advantage of you and act oblivious. We feared for our safety and would not recommend this resort to any person of color! The only positive interaction we had was with majority of the female staff and one waiter named Anthony from the Valley restaurant. We were accused of stealing a wash cloth during check out, when they checked our bags and found nothing, they were embarrassed and tried to hold us so we would miss our flight. NEVER AGAIN.

On one occasion, we ordered room service, but it never arrived. After almost two hours, we called room service and were told that someone had knocked on our door; however, we never heard anyone. This was particularly strange because we were in the room the entire time, and we did hear the housekeeping staff knock that day while we wait for the breakfast. As a result, we missed breakfast altogether, which was both annoying and disappointing. It would have been much better if someone had called us to clarify the situation.

Had a wonderful stay, huge property so we did a lot of walking.. but it was plus to walk off in the food we ate. Buffet food was good, had aloy of different options but for resort food pretty good sometimes cold but there was a microwave you can heat up. Restaurant food pretty good hard to get reservations so book as soon as you check in, adult side could’ve used a little more entertainment. One pool party!! But super fun the staff does really good engaging.. nigh entertainment was decent, started late tho 10 pm with the day drinking and doing day activities sometimes hard to stay up!! Overall a great stay and will stay again!! The staff is everyone wonderful and that is a plus

Multiple attempts to get drinks and food and was ignored or not helped. I tried to give benefit of the doubt but realized it wasn't on accident. It was intentional. The property was beautiful. The staff wasn’t as friendly as other resorts but they weren’t rude. Housekeeping didn’t leave but one towel set once cleaning the room and dining only allowed one napkin per guest which was strange to me. This was one of the biggest resorts I have been to thus far and the pool was just beautiful. It was hard to find beach chairs as people claim them early but you never saw anyone at them. The beach was great but had a lot of seaweed. I would highly recommend this resort to couples.

I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort from April 11–16, and overall, the experience was mixed.

The resort itself is very large and beautifully decorated, but it could really benefit from clearer maps and better signage—getting around wasn’t always easy. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Many staff members, especially at check-in and the front desk, were not very friendly or helpful, and it felt like additional training is needed in those areas.

There were also some issues with the room. I encountered two roaches—one in the room and one in the closet. While I understand that insects can be common in the Caribbean, I didn’t expect to find them inside the room. When I reported it, the response was disappointing, as I was simply told housekeeping could come again, with no real resolution offered.

That said, a few standout employees completely turned things around for me. Domingo and Claribel at the adults-only pool bar were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Felix at the late-night restaurant, The Valley, was also fantastic. Without these three individuals, my experience would have been significantly worse.

In short, while the resort looks great, service and guest support need improvement and the rules around the adults only pool need to be revisted. Out of the days I was there there was only entertainment at the pool one day. The staff members mentioned above were the highlight of the stay and made a big difference.

I recently stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino – Adults Only Club with a group where we booked 7 rooms, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

The biggest issue is that this is marketed as an “adults only” experience, but in reality, it is not. The only adults-only features were a very small pool with no special atmosphere or view, one restaurant, and a small buffet. There were no enforced regulations—kids were freely present even in areas that were supposed to be adults-only, including the pool and beach areas. Overall, the resort felt extremely family-oriented, not a true adults-only environment.

If you are a young adult group looking for privacy, a kid-free atmosphere, and a fun vibe, this is not the place for you.

Customer service also fell short. I paid an additional $700 at check-in to upgrade my room, yet it wasn’t ready until nearly 8 PM. I spent hours waiting with my luggage, repeatedly being told “30 more minutes” or “45 more minutes,” which was very frustrating. When the room was finally given to me around 7:45 PM, it was clear it had been rushed and quickly cleaned just to accommodate us.

When I requested some form of compensation for the inconvenience and lost time, the staff refused. On top of that, no one explained the benefits of the “unique member package” that came with the upgraded room—I only learned about it at checkout, which made the experience even more frustrating.

Resort was beautiful. Unfortunately the food was not good. The 3 restaurants we went to was hibachi, Mexican and steakhouse. Other than three Mexican was the best, but it took over an hour to get our food because the server forgot to put our order in and he was rude on top of that. Reservations are very limited. There is no Stille bar figured they would have servers walking around offering drinks that only happened once the four days we were there we wanted to drink. We have to get up and walk to the bar then in line, the staff wasn’t friendly. The buffet I’d write a one out of five in the room Service is zero. Bad food selections/options and it was always cold. I ordered nachos because you can’t go wrong with nachos but they don’t even put cheese on them. We met other families while we were there. They complained about the same stuff we weren’t happy with. I would not stay here again, even if they offered me a free trip back.

We were booked in the \"adult only\" area which is not adult only- I was awaken each morning by a screaming child in the adult only area of the resort. This property is NOT adult only.

Our shower was clogged from day 1 and after 3 showers, the shower water flooded into the room. We had to request 3 times to have it looked at, fresh towels replaced and water-logged towels removed.

Food was meh....
Spa service was nice.
Excursion was ok...
dance club opens too late, 12am, but the shows end at 10pm so not much to do between.

There was a strange sewage odor near the elevator we used.

The beach COULD be beautiful but there are so many boats anchored in front of the resort we couldn't see the horizon. The swim area is roped off due to the boats so it is not a great beach to enjoy in the water.

PLUS there was an altercation over the beach chairs where a 40 yr old dad w his young daughter(in the adult only area) removed towels from a chair that he thought was vacant, and when the 70ish yr old man and his wife returned to their chairs they threw the girls sand toys and their belongings into the sand which led to a 40vs70 argument and pushing and shouting, threats, and a snatch of a hat, toss of sunglasses.... finally the sandcops showed up.... nothing resulted in this, but a crazy experience.

We loved DR and will return to DR but not to this resort. It's dated, stinky, average food, average service....

The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. Multiple pool options meant we did not have any issues securing a lounge chair. At times the music around pool areas could be too loud but it all ends by 6pm.
The resort has something for everyone - it is very large so be prepared to walk.

Mi experiencia en este hotel fue bastante decepcionante. La higiene de las habitaciones es muy deficiente; desde que entramos se notaba que la limpieza no era adecuada.

Las toallas están viejas y muy gastadas, y ni siquiera colocan jabón en el baño, algo básico que cualquier hotel debería proporcionar a sus huéspedes.

El refrigerador de la habitación no enfría, por lo que no sirve para mantener bebidas o comida fría. Además, las jaboneras del baño estaban descolgadas, lo que demuestra una clara falta de mantenimiento.

Otro problema importante fue la ducha: cuando uno se baña, el agua no drena correctamente y el área se inunda. Esto resulta muy incómodo y poco higiénico.

Para completar, el control remoto del televisor no funciona, por lo que ni siquiera se puede usar la TV correctamente.

En general, la limpieza, el mantenimiento y los detalles básicos del servicio dejan mucho que desear. Definitivamente necesitan mejorar la higiene de las habitaciones y el estado de las instalaciones.

Adults only? Nope! Kids everywhere! Naming convention used on Expedia, and likely everywhere else, misleading. This resort has three names: 1) Adults Only Club at Lopesan Costa Bavaro - All Inclusive; 2) Unique Club at Lopesan Costa Bavaro - All Inclusive; and 3) Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa & Casino - All Inclusive. When selected filter for “adults only” on Expedia, got this resort. I didn’t pick up on the club part.
Adults only means an adult only section of rooms in the south-west section at the front of the hotel. Selected the Tropical room. It faced outside the hotel, south, looking at apartments, a road, some palm trees - not very picturesque or “Tropical”. Road is used for all deliveries, garbage trucks, motorcycles, recycling, noisy from 630AM. Requested to be moved, but couldn’t until after the second night, on which they followed through.
Adult only pool was good enough and had security - no kids. Adult only section on the beach not enforced - kids. Adult only buffet same - kids. Hey, we like kids and have 3 young adults, but this whole Adults Only thing is completely misleading at Lopesan.

The property was gorgeous and well maintained. However, bathrooms were frequently dirty, service at the ala carte restaurants and the many bars was awful. Tipping didn't help. All we wanted was for staff to smile once and a while. The check-in process was horrendous, took almost two hours to complete. Beach was gorgeous, room was clean, Party Boat excursion through the resort was affordable and easily the highlight of the stay. Will try a different property next time.

It’s a large, very nice and clean property. We elected the Adults only package with Unique upgrade. Pools were very nice. Our room was clean. Staff for the most part was very accommodating, even though there was a language barrier. We enjoyed the Unique Beach Club amenity along with the Unique pool areas. Our only complaint was the food. If you’re a foodie, your options are very limited. We found the Unique Beach club BBQ/ buffet to be our best option for food. The meat options (cooked to order) trumped anything we found in the restaurants, even the steakhouse. Restaurant La Boheme was our most frustrating experience during our stay (language barrier and lack of service). We left before ordering food due waiting too long to place an order. For best experiences at the restaurants, don’t deviate from the menu options.

I recently stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino and overall had a very good experience.

The property itself is amazing,beautiful, very well maintained, and extremely clean. The bedrooms were impeccable, and you can really see that the resort takes great care of the facilities. Everything around the property looked organized and in great condition.

Regarding the service, room service was excellent. The staff delivering the service were friendly and efficient. However, I did notice that some other staff members around the resort were not very welcoming and sometimes didn’t even greet guests, which was a bit disappointing.

The only reason I can’t give the resort a full 5 stars is the food. The buffet was decent, but the à la carte restaurants were not particularly impressive. In my opinion, the food there felt very similar to the buffet, just served in a more elegant setting.

Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with great rooms and good maintenance, but the dining experience could definitely be improved.

Great food selection throughout the buffets and restaurants. Lots of local options as well. Local vendors are on the beach for excursion possibilities. Bars are conveniently located. Domingo was the best bartender, located at the adult only pool. Room was very clean and the ladies did a great job of keeping it tidy. Casino was pretty slow but if it’s a busy night, enjoyable. Amenities were hit or miss. The adults only areas were amazing, it was just a bummer none of the pool areas near the ocean were adults only. The only adults only pool was no where near the ocean or views of the water, but it did have its own bar. It could use more chairs for more people to have a place to keep their stuff while in the water.

Stayed for 5 days and never could find a place to sit on the beach. All chairs had towels on them being saved for hours and hours with no one using them, so that was really frustrating for the rate to not get to spend a day on the beach without just popping a towel down on the beach (nothing in the shade was ever free).

Spa was wonderful, massage was incredible and it was serene and not overpriced (in my opinion).

Food was hit or miss. A lot of variety of cuisine but nothing was put out in the buffet to say what it was (no signs for a majority of the dishes) so it was difficult to know what you were looking at.

Felt like it was sold as adults only, but a majority of the place is full of kids. If you truly want a kids free experience you’re severely limited in where that is the case.

Staff were all very helpful, happy, and knowledgeable. Very clean facilities and our swim up pool is something I will miss a lot. The La Pearla bar in the adults only section was amazing and our bartenders (Domingo and Jhoanny) were the absolute best. Beautiful property and beach. All of the À la carte restaurants exceeded my expectations on all levels.
Pro tip for others would be to get to the beach between 6-8 am in order to secure a spot.
We will surely come back in the future.

I was really excited about this resort, but boy was I disappointed!!

First we couldn't book an ala cart dinner for the first 2 nights we were there. Apparently that's standard? So we ate at the walk in restaurants that were mediocre at best.

Then about day 2 I guess the maids didn't appreciate me sleeping in, so they did their best to wake me up every morning by phoning, opening the door and turning the light on or shutting off the air conditioner.

Then I got blasted by some woman in Spanish for taking the \"wrong towels?\"

Not acceptable Lopesan! Never again. I wouldn't go back if it were free!!

The rooms were spacious and clean. In fact, the whole resort was very clean and well maintained. Lots of restaurants but reservations are troublesome. The buffet food was... buffet food. It was just okay. Drinks were mixed decently. Some bars were better than others. It was very difficult to get a spot on the beach or by the pool. Most of the staff and customer service were subpar. If they were replaced with some people that just smiled once in a while the experience would have been 6 stars.They definitely gave the vibe that they didn't want to be there or help us. Our room refrigerator was broke and we put in TEN requests. Everyone acted like someone was on the way but nobody ever showed. It was SO frustrating to not be able to have a cold drink in your room. I will definitely return to the Dominican Republic and I would return to this resort in a heartbeat IF the customer service/staff had been more friendly. For now... I will find a new resort next time.

The room and swim up pool were great. The grounds of the resort and beach were lovely. Calling this an \"adults only\" stay is a complete misnomer. There are children literally everywhere. The \"adults only\" buffet just means a dining room to sit in, but you only sit there after battling through little kids running all over in the same place to get your food. The \"adults only\" roped off section of the beach is filled with families not watching their children and when you ask security for assistance, they just get you another chair and place it next to more kids. Children running around screaming through the lobby. The staff was good overall, some more friendly than others. I wish, though, I hadn't paid more for adults only as it was anything but. I won't be back.

We stayed at this hotel expecting an adults-only experience, but we were disappointed. While the property had an adult section, there was no real separation, and children were visible and audible throughout. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with friendly staff. Lunch was decent, dinners were great, but the spa fell short of expectations—no aromatherapy, and it felt subpar. A major issue was vendors selling fake goods by the pool—especially Cohiba cigars—which felt like a breach of trust. We complained but received no resolution. On top of that, our attempts to arrange …for a birthday went unanswered, and no one followed up. In summary, while the hotel looked great, the experience was marred by broken promises of an adults-only atmosphere and lack of trust in on-site sales. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Overall, we had a good stay at the resort, but unfortunately we experienced a very distressing incident with a security staff member named Luis Miguel Suero.

My husband and I placed our bag and towels on an empty chair before entering the adult pool. Out of courtesy, we asked the gentleman sitting next to it if anyone was using it. He clearly said no and confirmed it was fine to use, explaining he was alone. The group next to us (triplet brothers) typically occupied three chairs daily, and the chair we used was not being used.

Despite this, Mr. Suero approached us aggressively and began yelling at us in front of other guests, accusing us of taking someone’s chair. It was extremely embarrassing and completely unnecessary.

The guest next to us was shocked and also reported his behavior. When Guest Services came to the pool to identify him, he continued yelling — even in front of them. The Guest Services representative himself stated that his behavior was completely out of line and unacceptable.

Although the incident was reported to the security department, nothing further was done. We continued seeing him working in the same area for the remaining two days of our stay, still behaving rudely. It was very distressing.

It is disappointing that someone with such hostility and lack of professionalism is allowed to work in a resort environment meant for relaxation.

You have a beautiful property, but the guest relations and supervisory staff delivered the worst hospitality experience I have encountered anywhere in the world.

There was no visible hotel management present during a serious health and safety incident. Our room had bed bugs and visible mold on pillows mattress, and duvet. Rather than addressing these issues professionally and in line with basic hospitality standards, staff attempted to minimize and cover them up.

Late in the evening, the guest relations supervisor attempted to force us out of the hotel while they had all of our personal belongings. At that time, I had only a bathrobe with no access to my clothing until they realized we had witnesses. The hotel refused to provide reasonable assistance such as a clothing allowance or timely heat sanitation of our belongings, despite explicitly promising to do so.

We were eventually moved to another room more than six hours later. That room was also unacceptable, with visible signs of prior occupancy including used Q-tips, no garbages in the room, and multiple maintenance issues.

I have never felt so vulnerable, unsafe, and disrespected as a guest. We initially tried to handle this situation discreetly and with grace. The hotel responded without professionalism, empathy, or accountability. They falsified records and all!

This experience reflects a complete failure of guest relations, crisis management, and basic duty of care. They completely ruined our celebration!

This was not the relaxing, adults-only experience we paid for.
Customer service was terrible. The reception employee, Luis (adults-only side), was rude, impatient, and clearly annoyed by basic questions about the facilities.
The resort app doesn’t work, making it impossible to book à la carte restaurants. We were told everything was fully booked for our entire 3-day stay, so we were forced to eat at the buffet the whole time.
This is NOT a true adults-only resort. There’s only one adults-only pool and one bar. The “adults” buffet is shared with the family buffet — only the seating area is separated. All other areas are full of kids.
Despite multiple pools and beach areas, you can’t find a sun bed unless you wake up at 6am to reserve one with towels. No policy is enforced.
The beach in front of the hotel is very disappointing — swimming is restricted to a tiny shallow area because excursion boats are parked right there.
Noise starts at 6–7am with loud staff in the hallways. Security couldn’t handle a drunk guest screaming at 11pm. Room cleaning was very late (2–3pm).

Would not return or recommend.

While we believed this was “Adults Only”, it was anything but. They had one pool for adults and over the course of three days (we originally were staying five, but left due to our disappointment) we never could snag chairs (even at 9:30a) so were forced to sit at pools with screaming kids and loud DJs. The food was subpar at best. Breakfast and lunch had very limited options. One coffee bar that had a line anytime we went, all to get a Dixie sized cup of coffee. Alcoholic drinks were over saturated with sugar and cheap liquor. One red and one white wine option, everything else you had to purchase and unfortunately both were unpleasant.

And to top it all off, when we asked to go home and after trying to speak to management for 48 hours, the manager informed me I would only get a refund from them for the two nights if I told Expedia my statement was false (I had previously reached out to Expedia asking how I should go about getting reimbursed for two nights and the resort was privy to my message). The manager took a photo of my phone with his phone after I showed him my message to Expedia showing him I “lied” about my statement.

Coming from a background in hotel management at luxury resorts, I never in my life experienced such service. To top it all off, we were on our mini-moon and not one person acknowledged it.

If you want any sort of relaxation and elevated experience this is not the resort for you.

I expected an All-adult experience. I received the complete opposite. Although the property is beautiful it is not exclusive to adults except to a small segment of the property with 1 pool. I was awaken by kids in the hall each day early morning. All the adult activities were on the opposite side of the resort that also catered to children and family. I hope the property changes some things as this place has potential, just wasn’t the experience I expected.

The rooms are all the same, very clean and modern. The staff always wants a tip. Lots of amenities and things to do on the resort but for $1000 a night could have a better view instead of another hotel to look at, it was noisy and the room was very far away from the lobby and restaurants.
