The place needs an update, starting with the fact that you can't enjoy drinks in the room's refrigerator. Also, the room smelled damp. We asked for help because my daughter is allergic, and they said a deep cleaning would solve the problem, which wasn't enough, because the smell persisted. Otherwise, it was acceptable.

For an all inclusive it was very difficult to find food 24 hours a day, and when we did, it wasn’t great (think hotdogs). Be sure to make dinner reservations upon arrival for all nights. Room service didn’t arrive when ordered and each day they cleaned the room, picked up dirty towels and never supplied clean ones. We literally had to call every day to order towels. The place was spread out and somewhat difficult to navigate. Absolutely no drink or food service around the beach or pool and bar lines took forever. Good thing was the entertainment in the evenings was plentiful, beach was gorgeous and easy to get chairs on the beach. We used NexusTours for airport transport based on hotel recommendation and that was good.

Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay at this resort. The property is beautiful, the amenities are great, and the experience was positive overall. However, there are a few areas where some improvements could elevate the resort from good to exceptional.

One of the biggest challenges during my stay was navigating the property. I found myself getting lost on multiple occasions, and when I asked staff members for directions, several told me they were unfamiliar with certain areas of the resort. I believe staff should be better equipped to assist guests with navigation, as providing clear directions is an important part of the guest experience.

In addition, the resort could benefit from more directional signage throughout the property. Guests receive a map during check-in, but realistically, most people do not want to carry a pamphlet with them while enjoying their vacation. Strategically placed signs would make it much easier for guests to find restaurants, pools, activities, and other amenities.

Lastly, I think the pool experience could be enhanced by adding a swim-up bar to at least one of the pools. Having to get out of the water each time I wanted a drink was inconvenient and interrupted the relaxation experience. A swim-up bar would be a great addition and would further enhance the resort atmosphere.
Despite these suggestions, I had a great stay and would recommend this resort. With a few small improvements, I believe it could provide an even more outstanding experience.

I recommend selecting accommodations on the Caribbean side if beach access is a priority, as the Atlantic areas have experienced significant sargassum accumulation, rendering the beaches unsuitable for swimming and creating an unpleasant odor. Consequently, the poolside areas tend to be overcrowded.

With the exception of a few members, overall staff was doing the bare minimum for guests.

Food and drinks was definitely the low point. They offered variety but low quality. Mostly fried and fast foods. Even at the \"top\" restaurants, we didn't see anything that was really that we thought was good.

My husband and I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro from April 27 to May 4 to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary.

The resort itself is beautiful. The pools and beach were great, and the food exceeded our expectations. The steaks at the restaurants were fantastic, and the restaurant staff provided excellent service.

Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by an issue at check-in. A front desk employee named Daniel told us multiple times that we needed to purchase the Adults Only upgrade to dine at El Asador restaurant. Based on that information, we paid for the upgrade.

Later, we learned from other guests and front desk staff that El Asador is available to all adult guests without the upgrade.

Had we been given accurate information, we would not have purchased it. Despite raising the issue at checkout and through multiple emails afterward, the resort refused any refund or compensation.

Great resort, disappointing customer service when an issue arises.

We had a great experience on Hard Rock las year and we decide to get a better hotel at this time. So the hotel seem newer than Hard Rock but the service is 2 star.
If you do not speak spanish do not go to Lopesan, no one understand you and most of the time seem you are asking a favor. So many employers seems sad or not happy in working.
The restaurants are hard to book and food is 1 star. I'm not talking about michelin just a honest food. The buffet I believe the placemats are never washed (strong smell) first time I thought was the server but next day we peek another table and the smell was the same I decided to sniff the table (booommmm).
Room service was horrible: (1) we needed to call 4 times in 6 hours asking someone to make the sofa bed for our son. (2) Call to restock the mini fridge and snacks (they do not understand english and I'm not speak spanish) soo nothing happen. (3) Order a simple burger and fries and a chicken tender for dinner take one hour and came all well done, fries like a sponge we can't had the food.

Casino is very poor, many slot machines out of service, the first machine just reseted and the screen was black I tried to find someone to helpme and the girl said: Happenes all the time lol and blackjack dealers counting the numbers using his fingers to make sure they are losing or winning.

Bars was ok.

For sure we will never back on Lopesan.

We loved the property and the staff. What I didn’t like was that we couldn’t reserve dinner for the family on our first night. We had to eat dinner in the buffet. We had to wait till the next day for reservations for an à la cart restaurant. Other than that we are very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend and come back.

The hotel is very beautiful, but unfortunately the service and overall guest experience were disappointing.

One of the biggest issues is the restaurant reservation system. Guests cannot make reservations until they arrive at the hotel, and once they arrive, they are often told that no reservations are available. It should not be necessary to complain or insist just to receive proper assistance. When guests spend their money and trust the hotel to provide quality service, they expect a better experience.

Another concern is the pool area. There are no staff members providing drink service, and since the pool was built without a swim-up bar, guests are left without convenient access to refreshments.

Honestly, the service was never good during my stay. The property itself is beautiful, but the customer service needs significant improvement to match the quality of the hotel.

Power outages, too many people and small areas to fit everybody, A/C poor on common areas, bars not inside pool, pool without shadow area, bars only with draft beer, if bottle beer then walk to a far away bar or call 0 at room service, noisy buffet, restaurant reservations are impossible due to small areas for large crowds, night show needs to update to keep people interested. Best is to have a room with private pool and use room service during breakfast and lunch, probably restaurants reservations available for party of 2, for 4 or more impossible

The hotel was extremely clean the kids loved both of the water parks. Food was just ok we only got to eat at one restaurant outside of the buffet because reservations were required we stayed for four nights but couldn’t reserve reservations for the first two nights of our stay they recommend eating at the buffet. We got to eat at the Asian place but the buffet was better than their hibachi. The drinks were a solid 2/10 for me and that’s being generous all bottom shelf liquor and all the drinks were honestly not good at all. Hot water didn’t work for the first day had to call twice to get it fixed but then it worked.

I was surprised that they had an arcade and bowling alley but we had to pay to use both that was one of the main reasons I booked the hotel because it seemed like it was a lot to do for the kids. Kids aren’t allowed to bowl which was disappointing. Overall, clean but I will not be booking again. Also got scammed out of $500 by the guy booking tours on the beach for an activity that was $150 on Expedia

We love the hotel. Amazing. We stayed in a room with pool. The staff, most of them looked mad. Food and drinks could be much better, a lot better.
The experience booking restaurants was a challenge. Food always took to long to come the our table. We went to The Charro restaurant. Drinks took 30 min to got delivered to our table.
Staff in The Theater were amazing. Really energetic, enthusiastic creating a enjoyable experience.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino. The lobby had no air conditioning, which made check-in and common areas very uncomfortable, especially in the heat. The food quality was below expectations, with limited variety and poor taste compared to other resorts in the area. Considering the high price of this hotel, the overall experience did not provide good value for the money. I would not recommend this resort to friends or family, and I would not stay here again. There are better options available at a similar or lower price.

The hotel was great and the amenities were all well maintained. While we were there the power went off from about 10pm till 3am. The hotel was so dark and the ac and wifi were gone. Needlessly to say that was not expected but there was no notification sent to anyone as to when the power was returning or anything. Lastly, even though Expedia ask for children ages at the time of booking, check your email confirmation because they still booked us as having infants, and during check in they informed us that we had to pay an additional $1500 for our children and of course we had to pay because we were already there. Not ideal! It happened to several people in our group. Also, my 13 year old paid as an adult but yet couldn’t go to the adult only places (18+ years). You should not charge 13 years and up as an adult and then not let her in adult places.

La instalaciones son grandes, muchas cosas quedan muy distantes, al estar TAN LLENO los trabajadores están estresados y sofocados y no todos te atienden bien.
Cuando estuvimos se fue la luz por una conexión con su hotel nuevo y estuvimos hasta 5 horas sin luz, el aire se dañó, los elevadores no funcionaban, no habían generadores auxiliares y nisiquiera disculpas dieron. Esa noche nadie pudo salir a nada, por no haber luz.
La comida es normal, aprovechen el buffet, el restaurante asador y mareas, los demás no valen la pena.

En el spa tengan cuidado, repito trabajan de mala gana y a mi esposa le quemaron el pelo y molestos por la hora que ella fue ( hora que había disponible).

Por el costo y valor, creo que deja mucho que decir, se pierde tiempo tratando de ir de un lugar a otro y top solo es el tamaño del hotel porque las amenidades son igual a cualquier hotel 4 estrellas o 3, nada del otro mundo. Los que han viajado y han estado en otras cadenas, pueden corroborarlo.

No lo recomendaría porque su precio no vale la pena

Lopesan is a solid resort for first‑time travelers or anyone looking for a decent, budget‑friendly option. It’s not luxury, but it offers good value if you’re not overly particular.

Our stay started rough: the shower drain in our first room didn’t work, causing the room to flood on night one. After multiple unanswered calls to the front desk, I went to reception and asked for a manager. Once involved, the manager helped and moved us to a new room, though it took a few hours.

The buffet food is just okay—nothing special—but the specialty restaurants were genuinely good. Make reservations the night before, or you’ll end up at the buffet or The Valley. The Valley was the weakest dining option and really only works when nothing else is available.

The resort’s Boulevard is a nice touch, with shops, a pharmacy, and entertainment areas. The overall vibe is enjoyable, though pool chairs get “reserved” early despite the resort saying otherwise. If you’re not out by 8 AM, you won’t get a front‑row spot at the main pool.

Staff varies—some are great, others not as friendly.

Overall, the resort is fine for the price. Aside from the flooding issue and The Valley’s food, we still had a good time. If you can overlook a few inconveniences, you’ll enjoy the experience.

I'm a frequent Expedia traveler and have visited other resorts in Punta Cana. This was my second time visiting Lopesan Costa Bavaro, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment, as I noticed many changes. The hotel is advertised as a 5-star resort, which it certainly lives up to with its green spaces, spacious rooms, and beautiful common areas. However, in terms of service, it felt more like a 4-star, like many others in Punta Cana. The quality of the food at the buffet and restaurants is not up to the standards of the Lopesan chain from a few years ago. Most of the time, the food was lukewarm, not hot. The quality of the drinks was poor, and they were mostly served in worn-out plastic cups. Service was slow. There was very little waiter service at the pools. On several occasions, the pool towel supply ran out, making guests wait. The idea of ordering breakfast to the room was a disaster. The coffee and omelets were cold. The juices were lukewarm, without ice. The room service app has few options and is not user-friendly. You can only access restaurants on the main road with a reservation, and during my 5-day stay, I was only able to book two. The best features are the coffee bar and the Irish bar, as well as the nightclub. Many of the employees felt somewhat rude when serving or answering questions. The beach was always full of sargassum. The entertainment was just okay. In conclusion wasn't a good option who’s seeking premium quality.

The rooms were very nice but housekeeping came at 4:30 and we were already back in our room getting ready for dinner. However today when we were scheduled for check out they showed up at 9. Property is expansive. Long walk to ester park which was shut down for construction. Food at buffet was ok not varied. Caribe and Atlantico are the same restaurant, but one side is adult only. Not enough chairs around the pool. Show starts at 10 which was too late for us. Maybe 8 por 8:30 would be better.

Good is horrible. The staff at one of the restaurants was a complete nightmare and they should not be working there. The security guards are the rudest people in any country. I will not return. The sales people for the excursions do not give all the details and the island tour is extremely dangerous with jumping from boat to boat in large swells. The fishing boats are not the same ones they send photos of. Overall I do not recommend this trip!

Our stay at Lopesan Costa Bávaro was excellent overall. The resort is beautiful, with spotless rooms, well-maintained grounds, and staff who work hard to keep everything looking great, including regularly clearing seaweed from the beach. The pools were also a highlight of our stay.

We stayed in Unique, and the added amenities were definitely worth it. Andres, our butler, truly made our experience exceptional by always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed and helping with last-minute reservations. If possible, definitely request Andres!

There are a couple areas that could be improved. Towel service at the beach and pools seemed overwhelmed during our stay. Even with Unique access, towels were unavailable a few times unless picked up early in the day. Improving the system and availability would make a big difference during busier periods.

We were also disappointed that some of the welcome amenities included with Unique were not provided. After speaking with our butler, we did receive the complimentary rum, but not the remaining items.

One helpful note for future guests: the complimentary “hydromassage” included with Unique refers to access to the spa hydrotherapy pools and jet areas, not massage beds or massage treatments.

Overall, we had a great experience and would happily return.

This was absolutely not the experience we expected. The staff was extremely unhelpful and unwelcoming anytime we needed assistance. Booking reservations and excursions was a nightmare because the app barely worked, and every employee kept passing us off to someone else instead of actually helping. When we finally got assistance, we were given false information about activities, which made the entire trip frustrating and disorganized.
To make matters worse, when we went to arrange transportation to the airport, an employee named Henry took $40 cash plus a tip to book our van, only for us to find out at the last minute that nothing had ever been booked. We were left stranded, out $60, and forced to pay another $30 per person for a taxi.The food was one of the only good parts of the trip, but overall this resort felt sketchy, disorganized, and like a complete waste of money. I would not recommend staying here.

I went a girls trip. Overall, we had a lovely time. The hotel is huge and beautiful. We did had an issue with one of the rooms. Humidity was horrible and it took q while for them to understand that we needed a new room and not housekeeping. Rooms were clean, but they have a huge problem with humidity. The second room was way better

Overall an amazing resort! Rooms were clean, super spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also love that there were tons of places to swim at without feeling too crowded. This resort might become our go to spot!

The hotel is nice and big. It was so big that i got lost a few times. Some staff member were friendlier than others but the resort overall was better than others I have gone to. When we arrived, we got a free upgrade to a pool view room which was really sweet. The only complaint I have is that you’ve to reserve every dinner restaurant expects the buffets, and even with the reserved restaurant the food were mid (also the Mexican restaurant smelled like sewage, hopefully they get that fixed quickly.)

Another thing, be careful of the sun chairs. I accidentally jammed my finger when I was trying to adjust it and got a nasty cut because of it. Overall, would I recommend this restaurant? Yes, it was a 7/10
