View from the room was fabulous but the part we stayed in was older and very worn but everything worked. We got woken up several times a night due to noisy neighbors partying till 2 - 3 - 4 am. It was not the restful break we were looking for but the food was excellent and so too the staff.

We booked through Expedia so they gave us a room facing a road. It was fine though. The room was a little dated, but clean. The food was okay. La chez was the best restaurant. We liked the relaxing atmosphere of the adult only resort. Most of the staff were great.

Cons: Property needs some remodeling. It is old compared to other resorts. Guests ran into inconveniences such as some elevators were not working, the coffee makers on the buffer was out of service. The food was just ok. Compared to other all inclusive resorts it lack better quality choices for paying premium . Waitresses took a very long time to get anything to you. One night we waited for over two hours to get our dinner once it was out , the order was missing food. At the pool area, you had to go to the bar if you need it a drink. Not very prompt or cheerful. They seemed overworked and not very happy.

Pros: Beautiful Clean Beach, multiple amenities for the entire family to have fun, own mall in the hotel, outdoor market next door. Convenient location. Relatively close to airport. Some staff members such as receptionist, cleaning crew, and chefs were helpful and seemed happy

If I ever decided to go back to Punta Cana, I will probably choose another hotel.

We stayed at the Barcelo Beach adult only. We did the premium package. The VIP desk and lounge is a joke. They were not very helpful. No premium liquer or drinks at all. Not like other Barcelo's. The room location was great. We were on the third floor but there are two elevators and they were fast. The room itself was very outdated. We were at 1079 and it was on the end and very quite. There is a bath tub which is high and hard to get in and out. Plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable. The fridge had 3 mini beers and was Presidente and no light beer option. The air-conditioning was great. The bell boys were great! Very helpful. To get to the Palace resort, other restaurants, spa etc. you had to get a ride in what looked like a \"train\". Sometimes had to wait a long time. The lobby bar was the best! Shot out to Yovelin Montero, great bartender and spoke english! The beach was amazing! The sand was soft and not hot. The beach/pool chair situation was pretty good. The pool was smaller and no swim up bar. The only time we ate at the buffets restaurants was for breakfast and it was good. Definatley need more than one toaster for bread. Ate at the specialty restaurants the other days for lunch and dinner. Was able to prebook online before we got there being a premium guest which was nice. The Steak House, Mexico Lindo, Chez Gourmet and El Coral were terrible! Hoya 19 and Koyoto were okay. The La Brisa was the best for lunch and dinner!The Spa was nice but no auromatherapy.

Some helpful feedback is that the shuttle was handy but since there were 2 different loops, it was always confusing to riders which one they should get on, meaning only by asking the driver would you know.. no sign on it. Lights went out in the room for over 2 minutes while in the shower. The safe did not work, the sliding patio door lock was broken and the jaccuzi tub did not work. Following day we had no water in the room and the TV didn't work.

The staff, beach, and pool were absolutely amazing. The rooms are very dated which makes them feel dirty even though they were very clean. The food is.. not great. I think it would have been better if it were hot and not stale. Every piece of bread I had was hard as a rock and all the dishes were barely warm.

The resort was beautiful. The food was mediocre, my husband got sick and we lost a day and a half due to food poisoning. Hot food isn't always hot and cold food isn't always cold.. Room was dated but not in bad shape. Staff was very friendly but there was a language barrier. If you tried to speak Spanish they were very appreciative of that. If you don’t put the sign on the door they just walk in about 9 am. There was little communication between the staff. My now fiancé planned a romantic dinner on the beach to propose to me and was told that morning that it was cancelled due to the wind being so strong so he had booked another dinner reservation. Then we get a phone call right before leaving for the dinner reservation that we were late for the romantic dinner and that they were waiting for us down on the beach. We left right away and headed to the beach. Found the tent set up in the dark and no one around. Had to search the beach to find out they moved it up to the pool bar (which was closed by that time). Was very stressful and unorganized. Kind of ruined the whole ambiance but we made the best of it. Would highly recommend learning Spanish before you go here.

We stayed a whole week in the resort. The experience is beyond my expectations. The resort is huge with full facilities. It has almost everything you need. The beach is nice, spa and gym facilities are big with full amenities. I saw water park, tennis, pickleball courts, bowling and soccer field. We played 3 rounds golfing. The golf course is beautiful and well maintained with good services. However, It is very busy. Suggest to book tee time in advance. The food is reasonably good with many options. We stayed in adult only area. The hotel room is spacious. Booked my package from Expedia. The package price is amazingly good. I have visited more than 10 Caribbean islands. This resort definitely ranks on top 3 based on the facilities, services and price.

Overall we had a good time staying in Adults only part of the resort. But a few things make us wonder if we'd come back again.
Beach is perfect.
Food and drinks good
Service is bad.
Room was terrible.
Beach; best beach with the white sand, clean, plenty lounge chairs under the palm shed. But they let locals use the beach in front of the resort. It would be OK for few people lay down on the send, but on weekend it become so crowded, I counted 104 people just turning my head around, including dozen of kids on adults only area, so it become impossible to stay on the beach. There are no signs to show that is a resort area, especially adults only area. I think a clear sign will help to maintain this issue.
Food was good quality and lots of option. Dinner at the restaurants requires reservation which going thru the customer service. Bar was surprisingly good this time. Bartenders were friendly, paid attention and made good drinks.
Room is outdated, in terrible condition; bathtub is leaking, water dripping from the ceiling, smells like pee, coffeemaker doesn't work. But A/C was good.
Service is terrible as well. No app, no online, everything is going through the phone with a zero result for calling more then dozen times for several days. Only way to fix the issue you have to go to the lobby customer service in person, stay in line, left a tip and then things started changing. For example. After got wet in the storm we found no towels in our room, it took 3 hours to get them.

Everything was great overall, but I wish there were more nighttime activities in the Adults section. It felt like most of the shows ended quite early. I’d also suggest keeping music playing in the lobby 24/7, because once the shows are over, it becomes very quiet. After 10 p.m., if you want to grab a drink and relax, there isn’t much else open. The staff are super friendly and the beach is wonderful!

Rooms are very tired and need a long over due update! Also the food was absolutely awful!!!!!! The special restaurants where you had to make a reservation to eat there never had openings. We tried to make reservations in advance for the whole week we were there and it was always booked full so we were forced to eat on the buffet for every meal and it was terrible!!!! We will NEVER go back to this resort again!!! It was such a disappointment!!!! First vacation we have ever been on that we lost weight!!

The breakfast menu was fresh and offered a variety of choices. Food was great and they had choices. The hotel and beach was clean and felt welcoming. The staff was helpful and tried to assist when we asked for help. The bartenders were great 👍 as well. The only thing i should mention is the closet draw in the room was dusty and was not cleaned properly which was a bit annoying. But overall the stay was great and it was an excellent experience. We will come back again.

Barcelo Bavaro was my first all-inclusive resort. Arrived around 1p at the resort, we were at the adult-only side. We checked in, left our luggage’s with the people at the door (normal check in 3pm); went for lunch at the buffet. Most foods were salty and less than average at the time of our stay. After lunch, went to the bar, got virgin pina colada which had an after taste of gasoline. Room was good with view of the pool, garden and beach. After settling in, we took a nap &woke up around 12a & missed dinner. Only the sport bar at the Palace is open 24hrs. We walked less than 15min (though there is a car travel q30min between both sides). The bar was also a buffet & located in front of the casino (you need your ID to enter). Braunny (my guest experience ambassador) was able to attend to our needs promptly as long as it wasn’t in the middle of the night. Overall, the experience was 8.5/10. But there was lack of info: 1-we weren’t made aware of the towels card until we were at the waterpark. 2-we were in darkness for 2days until one of the housekeeping lady showed us that there was a switch at the door that control the lights. 3- my sister could had been in trouble if it was her in the shower with no light and water. Also, she is close to her 60th & she wished it was just a standing shower or fully closed door bathtub. 4- Lunch and dinner reservations to a specific restaurant need to be booked at least before arriving for 100% guaranteed (though I don’t know if feasible).

From a mid-30s, entry-level all-inclusive perspective, we had a solid experience overall.

Amenities: Not a ton to do strictly on the adults-only side, but you can roam the full resort and always find something. Drinks were easy to come by, and the beach was the highlight. We spent one day at the pool and chose the beach every other day. Nightly shows were fun, but daytime entertainment felt limited.

Pool: The pool was fine but chilly in January. Entertainment was minimal and most guests lounged. Arriving before 9:30 AM was needed for four chairs (two was easy). Bohio bar had decent drinks, though frozen drinks were often melted. Mojitos were consistently great.

Beach: Soft sand, clear water, and plenty of seating. Even arriving at 10–11 AM, we could find four chairs. This alone bumped the resort from a 3/5 to a 4/5.

Food: The weakest point. The buffet surprisingly had more variety, including reliable vegetarian and vegan options. À la carte restaurants were hit or miss and often slow. Reservations are key—book early. The family side’s Strikers was great for late-night food.

Rooms: We booked a standard room and barely spent time there. Great view, fridge restocked daily, strong AC, firm beds, and clean towels. Rooms were dated but didn’t bother us.

Transportation between resorts was easy, though the language barrier outside the front desk made vegetarian dining challenging. Overall, we had a great time and might return, but would likely explore other options first.

The room was very poorly cleaned, but the floors behind the bathroom doors were never cleaned, the drains often clogged and the water wouldn't drain. The air conditioning didn't work very well and had a very unpleasant smell. The food 👍 and everything else left a lot to be desired. I have a bad impression of this hotel. I don't want to return.

Very disappointing. The photos and reviews online did not accurately depict the resort. After an hour on the property, we canceled our reservation and moved to a different resort. At check in we didn’t receive any information about the property, where restaurants were located, where our room was located or any other guidance. We asked a gentlemen to direct us to our room and he assisted us well. Once in the room, the room looked nothing like the online photos. There was red lipstick on one of the pillowcases, a large clump of hair on the floor, and something inside the bathtub that hadn’t been cleaned. The smell was horrific. We tried to grab some food to take a moment and breathe before making a decision and were told we would need to take a train to get to a restaurant. At that point we decided to cancel our reservation. The front desk was accommodating and was helpful in getting us transport and in getting our payment refunded.

The check-in was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff that took care of the room were really nice and helpful, providing extra towels and blankets when asked for. The only thing that did not go as well was making reservations for the hotel restaurants. We were told to do it the day before. However, we were not able to make the reservations due to it being booked. Also, we were told we could visit the restaurants at the hotel for family yet when we asked we were told we were not allowed to go there. We did enjoy the buffet and the service provided by the staff was excellent.

Overall, we had a good stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach Adults Only, especially as Premium guests, but there are a few important points worth mentioning.

Food:
The food was great across the resort, with good variety and quality. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay.

New Year’s Eve Event:
Absolutely 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The venue, organization, and atmosphere were excellent and very well done.

Cleanliness:
Rooms and common areas were clean and well maintained.

Amenities:
Amenities were okay—nothing outstanding, but adequate for a relaxing stay.

Staff Experience:
This was very mixed.
•Male staff members were consistently kind, friendly, and welcoming.
•Unfortunately, several female staff members, especially at the front desk and resort shops, were not friendly, not welcoming, and came across as rude, which was disappointing for a resort of this level.

Premium Guest Clarification:
Laundry is listed under Premium benefits, but it should be clearly specified that it is NOT free and that charges apply. This was misleading.

Room Safety Concern:
A note was left in our room saying “watch out.” We immediately brought this to the front desk, but the staff member completely ignored our concern, even after showing her the note. This lack of response was unsettling and unacceptable.

The resort has great food, a beautiful setting, and excellent events, but customer service—at the front desk needs improvement.

Beach was amazing. The specialty restaurants were great but required reservations so they were challenging to book. The buffets were crap. Same food at all of them so no difference at all. The “free” drinks were even worse. I had a margarita and and screw driver that were just terrible. Room service was hit and miss. Don’t forget to bring any necessities. A basic sunscreen is $44 USD! Beach and party boats were amazing. New Years Eve was a practice in nickle and diming. After paying $7,500 for the “all-inclusive”, for new years they wanted $400 per person, not per room, for a ‘premium’ table for new years. We opted not to do that and did our own thing. I can’t stress enough how bad the buffets are. If you go, when you are in the premium guest services the first day you arrive, make all your dinner reservations for the week. Trust me.

We didn't receive a balcony room. Got a 1st floor room that was flooded by rainfall. The room was very dusty; cleaning consisted of towel change, spreading out bed covers! I have pictures for posting. Staff are not happy, this is odd since Dominicans are very friendly, talkative and always laughing. The food was bland!

From the moment I arrived, there was no AC and it was so humid that evening, once I showered, I did not want to come out and sweat all over again. I called the front desk at least 5 times in a span of four + hours. For my entire stay there was no AC, and was told it was an issue in my entire section.
CLEANLINESS - I like to be barefoot in my suite, but unfortunately, it wasn't possible. The floor was filthy and I wore sandals my entire stay. I left the do not disturb sign on the door handle because if THAT is the quality I get upon arrival, then I'll pass on the maintenance. Plus, I do not like my things moved around, whether my property or the hotel. The bed headboards have dust, the vanity (pictures provided) and the sheets on one of the beds had some sort of particles on them (pic also). The mattress cover is very dingy. The wicker furniture is dated and poorly painted over.
SPA - after my massage I was offered sauna access for an hour but was never told at any point about this over the phone when booking my appointment. I called two times to discuss my booking and it was never mentioned. The spa is at Bavaro Palace as well as most amenities.
FOOD - It was underwhelming. Aside from the coffee machine, I liked the chocolate donuts. Most of the food and desserts were dry, lacked texture, and just very mediocre.

Will never return, save and splurge elsewhere.
