This has to be one of the most tired Ibis hotels left in Europe. Its the design I remember from 20 years ago... and the scruffy state suggest its even older.

Surly reception check in, drunk guys in the bar, and everything is tired to be polite.

The bed is itchy, the dust trapped at the edge of not only the room but every corridor and lift not a nice sight.

Long overdue a refurb and some training at this one. Picked because it was convenient for a roadtrip, but the quality of sleep was so poor I am dreading the long drive back to UK today,

Avoid if you can.

Disgusting carpet in the not clean room, weird bathroom. Conveniently located but that’s about the only positive. The rooms are inexpensive but the restaurant prices are insanely expensive for lousy food, my lasagna was something I’d have expected to get on an airplane in economy but cost 26 euros (which was about average for a main course).

This is a travelers' hotel. It is as advertised. We drove back into the city on a Saturday, and it was convenient. The staff was kind, and there are a few options nearby for dining, but we chose to eat in that evening. Overall, a good stay.

Convenient overnight stay hotel en route.

Our stay was Sat 26 Oct - 27 Oct not as above!
A very convenient overnight stay on our way home from Southern Germany. Comfortable, clean and friendly.
Two comments made about our overnight stay on our way to South Germany seemed to have been dealt with as we had the chance of an evening meal on arrival and fruit at breakfast the next day.
We will stay there again next year as we have done for the past 10 or more years.

Adequate overnight stay, help yourself breakfast.

We have stayed at this hotel for over night on a long journey. It is not the same as it was, There used to be an evening meal service aviilable, but not no longer, just for coach parties.
As usual I booked a no smoking room, but last night having already pre-registered on line, give the room key and told the room was no smoking. A notice was left on the bed indicating so, BUT smoking had been prevalent inthe room for sometime. We open the window and turned the fan on to max. By the time of our return from dinner elsewhere, the smell was not so prevalent. I suspect that the room and possibly others had been classified As No Smoking without any attention to the decor which still resting smoke odour.
We would probably use the hotel if making the same family visit journey again, - but then perhaps not!

Could have been better!

The male receptionist was in the office talking on the phone visible to us us to him but gave no acknowledgement. When eventually he came to the desk he stayed speaking on the phone. He was far from courteous and gave no information about how to proceed to our using the lift. Really, really could have done better as a receptionist. Otherwise mych of the hotel was as we have come to used to from numerous overnight stays at this IBIS. No evening restaurant or bar service last night either.

Hotel is in need of a refurb the room is looking tired, tv was old. The bed was ok but not upto the usual standard of other ibis hotels.

The shower again was old and there is very little to differentiate between the ibis and the ibis budget besides it. Having stayed in both of its only for one night I would save the 30€ difference and get the cheaper hotel as it’s not worth the extra money.

Over priced average hotel

Stopped at the ibis Luxembourg Sud going to and returning from Germany. When we checked in I was told my Accor reward card was not valid as I had booked via a third party agent, unfair as Accor organisation still get the money for the booking.

On the first stop going the breakfast was included in booking but on the return stop it was not but were not informed of this until we had started. We were then told we had to pay but this was despite being asked our room numbers as we entered the restaurant and they crossed us off the list they had.

The breakfast was buffet style and was certainly not worth the €15 we were charged per person for coffee, rolls, cold meat, cheese and cereals.

We did eat in the restaurant one evening and the menu was fairly limited, pricy and average food at a high price this is because they know you are a captured market.

Room was very small and tight for space as although we booked single rooms we were given triple bedded rooms with one of the beds being a fold out bed that took up a lot of space and was not need.

The bathroom was a pre-manufactured plastic box with just enough space to get the toilet, shower and basin inside.

Parking was limited and we had to park at the rear on the grass and there appeared to be no security. Parking will get worse here as there is a new hotel being built on the site next to the ibis Luxembourg Sud.

The only thing going for this hotel was its location just off the motorway and close to cheap petrol

Great value but very small rooms

If you want to see Luxembourg City and avoid the high prices, this is a great place to stay. You're only 5-8 miles south of the city. That said, there is pretty much nothing around this hotel, apart from two restaurants and an Ibis Budget hotel. You're right off the highway. So it's convenient, but there's not much ambiance.

The other thing worth knowing is that the rooms are REALLY small. There's room for a bed and one folding chair. That's about it.

It seems impossible to find decent hotels at a decent price close enough to the centre of Luxembourg. Ibis it's definitely not one.
In a noisy location, close to the motorway, with nowhere to go outside, outrageously overpriced for both room and breakfast, cheap quality rooms, average staff, terrible breakfast choice. The kind of \"motel\" you can't wait to leave.

Since there is a Budget Ibis next to this one I’d thought we’ll be provided with the usual kettle for tea/coffee & fridge in the room more so for the price difference. Hotel location is far to the nearest bus stop so not ideal if not driving as taxi ride is quite pricey. Enjoyed the dinner though and staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel location was obvious from the main road however, the hotel entrance sign was small and unlit. Parking is not the best for motorcycles. The room was adequate, despite the 'plastic toilet' facilities. The evening meal was delicious- chef was applauded when she appeared.

AVOID This IBIS - Pain to find road.

The IBIS budget looked much fresher - this was a tired building exterior looks like it needs some clean up. Worst IBIS we have used , would absolutely avoid Luxembourg if you can - The restaurant is only open certain hours - otherwise its microwaved bar bits by poor person at reception who doubles as bar person , cook , receptionist etc .. We have now stayed in 6 or so IBIS in he space of 8 days - this last one put us off both IBIS and Luxembourg .

The receptionist tried very hard but it was just plain ridiculous .

Wifi was worst on trip yet - would not work on 4th floor only near reception .....

This hotel is just off the motorway but was not disturbed by traffic noise in any way when in the room.

No problem car parking.

Receptionist was very good and all staff spoke great English.

Disappointed that the ACCOR Hotels loyalty card was accepted as booked through Hotels.Com

Good that they have a lift to all floors. Did not use the restaurant as the Italian restaurant next door was very good food and service. WIFI was good.

If you want cheap fuel then turn left out of hotel as you leave and a Q8 petrol station is just 5 minutes away and very cheap prices.

Nice hotel but bad location

This is a budget hotel, but its in good condition. The room I had on the 5th floor was a good size, clean, with aircon and wifi. Shower but no bath. No minibar or any other niceties. I had breakfast for 2 days (very busy) and a meal in the restaurant which was very good. The only downside to this hotel is its location, its a EUR55 taxi ride to central Luxembourg.

Just as a place to sleep it is okay

The room was very sparce. The bathroom felt like the whole unit had been brought in from something like a cruise ship. There were 2 towels, no hand towels or washcloths. It felt more like a 2 star hotel. On the plus side the room and bathroom were clean.

Well placed over-night place to stay.

Confusion on our arrival at reception as the assigned room had been given to another guest - the first time this had happened here over 11 occasions. Compassionately handled and given room key eventually. Then at the room door the key/lock mal functioned on each occasion of use, 7 times, but we managed to get in each time. Otherwise, the hotel is a satisfactory over-night stay with adequate food service for evening and breakfast meals.

Nice hotel that was recently refurbished.

The hotel is only a few miles from the center of town and was recently refurbished so we had no real complaints. Breakfast buffet is a little pricey so we chose not to eat at the hotel. I can buy a lot of bread, fruit and cereal for what they want to charge you for breakfast.

Good out of town location

Basic but clean and comfy rooms. Friendly polite staff. The location is out of town and there isn't much in the immediate area but it's easy to get to and good if you are travelling across Europe. Didn't try the food as the restaurant was getting refurbished. There is a very nice Italian Pizzeria next door though and Luxembourg City is not too far away if you want more choice.

Courteous at front desk, little delay in arranging room with directions as to how to find it. Dinner meals were very adequate served promptly and with a smile. Breakfast selection was reduced due to coach travellers and warm food could have been warmer. Coffee and hot water for tea from machine was satisfactory; just the \"Yellow\"breakfast tea bags were almost finished. Overall for our stay a very convenient location and perfectly adequate accommodation and food for our purposes.

Es war dieses Mal sehr unangenehm. Es stinkt ein Eingangsbereich, es sieht ziemlich heruntergekommen aus, der Abzug im Bad läuft und pfeift die ganze Nacht und das Fenster ist abgeschlossen und lässt sich nicht mal kippen. Das ist selbst für ein Ibis unterstes Level. Ich werde dort nicht mehr übernachten und werde es niemandem empfehlen!

Bij aanvang ontbijt was vrijwel alles op.geen croiss, ants. Jam .. alle warmhoud bakken met eieren ed waren leeg zelfs geen kopjes voor koffie of thee . Tafels waren vies, niet opgeruimd .
Een medewerkster gaf aan dat dit kwam omdar er een bus met passagiers vrijwel alles op had gegeten.
Personeel was inactief en vulde de voorraad niet aan
Speciaal bij ibis rood geboekt (ipv ibis blauw wat ernaast zit) om uitgebreid ontbijt. Helaas er was vrijwelniets meer tte eten.
Ik zie graag de kosten van ontbijt geretourneerd op mijn rekening

1.Restaurantbereich schmutzig, Die Bestuhlung ist teilweise defekt, d.h. die Bezüge. Boden ist teilweise klebrig. An der Regalwand sehr verstaubt. Bodenbereich im Aufzug oder vom Aufzug zum Zimmer und im Zimmer (705) sehr verschmutzt, Putz im 7.Stock am Aufzug abgebrochen. Alles abgewohnt. Frühstück ist Lustlos zubereitet und dekoriert. Kaffee schmeckt nicht, Besteck ist teilweise verschmutz mit Ei-Resten. Ist das Geld nicht Wert.

Veraltet, Zimmer voller kaputte Dinge, morgens kommt ein stärker Nicotine Duft durch die Luftanlage. Das Teppich in den Zimmern wirkt sehr schmutzig (definitiv nicht Barfuß drüber laufen!) Die Wände sind so dünn, dass man alle Gäste am Morgen früh aufwachen hört und es generell sehr laut ist. Länger als bis 7:00 schlafen liegt daher definitiv nicht drin. Schade
