The hotel was in a convenient location near the lake in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The reception staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is \" cooked to order\" and very tasty. I stayed there several times over the three weeks I was in Vietnam, and I always felt \" at home\" there!

Excellent customer service

Very attentive and helpful staff. Excellent location - near all the action in Old City Centre but on a side street- a little quieter. The staff went above and beyond and dis a great job. They helped arrange several transfers - from airport, to/from Halong, to/from SaPa, around town.
The rooms are on the smaller side since it is jn the city center, but that was not an issue for us- they were very clean. Good breakfast. I would stay here again.

This place checked all the boxes for us and we highly recommend it. It is in an incredibly central location that makes walking around the Old Quarter very easy and we stopped back multiple times during the day to take a break from the heat. It is in the heart of the city but on a quieter side street that meant almost no noise reached our bedroom (which faced the street). The room was spotlessly clean with excellent amenities and a beautiful bathroom. AC was perfect. The hotel arranged an airport pickup that just got added to the bill and the staff were very nice and helpful throughout our stay. An elevator and the included breakfast (cooked and buffet) were nice bonuses. We would absolutely stay again.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and always a friendly greeting when passing by the desk. They provided restaurant suggestions, sightseeing suggestions, and offered help with anything needed. They arranged a car to the airport at a reasonable price. The location was great, close enough to the lake and all the shopping and dining.

Very nice and helpful and skillful staff in arranging train and airline tickets and suggesting local restaurants and massage, all of which we greatly enjoyed. They also organized free pickup and drop off st the airport and train station. Rooms a bit small but clean and functional. Good bed.

Great service, great room, great location.

I stayed in the hotel for three days. I arrived very early in the morning and was greeted warmly despite waking up the staff who were expecting me. The room was spacious, clean, excellent air conditioning, very clean bathroom, and had a nice little balcony overlooking the small street. There were always complimentary drinks and a snack in the lobby, as well as someone ready to greet guests and answer questions. Excellent central location near the lake, in the Old Quarter, yet very quiet in my room at night. The hotel also arranges tours but I had already booked mine. The only thing I didn't enjoy were some very small bugs in the room, mostly on the floor. However, they were not interested in me (no bites) and I noticed them in other buildings too so they might be unavailable in Hanoi. I only paid about five dollars more a night than the budget hotels I usually stay in but it was worth it for my last stop and for the balcony. I would be happy to stay here again and highly recommend it.

NIce Hotel with great staff and perfect location

Location in a quaint street, only a minute's walk from the lake, food, shopping.
Breakfast quite adequate - fruit juice, fruit and cakes, coffee, tea, choice from cooked menu.
Staff very helpful booking transfers and train tickets.
They provided a picnic breakfast when we left at 5.15 am to catch the train.
Decor is not new, but perfectly adequate.

Very close to the lake. Nice quite area

Stayed 1 night here. Had a pleasant 1. A map around the area which shows you the weekend market. The entrance of the hotel is a small alley which is cozy and quiet compared to other hotels by the main road with busy cars. The staffs are really friendly and helpful.

The people at the front desk make the experience wonderful. They booked a half day tour around Hanoi for us on motorbikes within 1 hour of it starting as a last minute idea. All went according to plan. Highly recommend and we will stay there when we are next in Hanoi

I am a young traveller from Australia and they were all so accomodating if me and my two friends. The price is very redoubtable but the bet thing is the staff, they were very friendly an assisted us wherever possible e.g. Buying train tickets for us abd calling cabs. The location is also perfect!!

Great experience all around. Staff was very friendly and attentive and it was all the small details that really added up. Great central location as well. It doesn't look so pretty from the outside but the accommodations were very cozy. If possible, see if you can get a room on a higher floor with the view of the lake. The best part of all was the soft mattresses! We stayed in 3 other hotels in Vietnam and the mattresses felt like sleeping on the floor! So the mattress here was a very pleasant surprise!

Incredibly helpful staffs and nice location

I stayed Hanoi old center first day of my trip to Hanoi. The staff members were incredibly helpful and did their best to provide me information on Hanoi. Since it is located in old center, it was a great place to enjoy the first day in Hanoi. Also the terrace was nice to see motorbikes even at night. It can be noisy but wasn't a big trouble. I also booked a halong bay cruise tour through Old Center Hanoi, 110 USD 1N 2Days one with halongbay dragon cruise(?). The tour was not satisfactory so I do not recommend you book a cruise tour through the hotel though.

We stayed here for 5 nights. We really liked the location. It wasn't too noisy and was close enough to walk to everything we wanted to, including many restaurants and bars and Hoan Kiem Lake. The room was clean and a decent size. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Older...but an ideal location.

I chose this hotel for two reasons. Price and location. The location of this hotel is ideal. It is just the cutest, most complete neighborhood in Hanoi. I love the small street and the surrounding atmosphere. It is only about two blocks from the most famous intersection in Hanoi and right in the middle of the Old Quarter.

The staff, including May and Kathy, could not have been nicer and more helpful. Being greeted daily with their great smiles was well worth it. One night, when I needed to extend and they did not have room, they arranged another room in one of their sister hotels.

Over all, a great experience. Sometimes older is best.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, as they knew it was my last day and would not be staying the night, they upgraded me to a quiet room, which was much appreciated as I could freshen up and have a quick snooze before the late flight. Very clean and comfortable room. Very central.

We stayed here because a lot of the reviews said the location was good and the staff are friendly. And they were right! The location is fantastic. Just on the edge of the Old Quarter in a quiet street with lots of character and a good cafe just across the road. The staff went out of their way to help us and gave really great tips about where to eat and go around Hanoi. We booked three nights but had a night out on Halong Bay and kept our room just so we wouldn't have to check in and check out again. When they found that out they offered to check us out and check us back in and refund us for the night we were away. Only downside was the bed was quite hard but everything else makes up for that. We were really pleased with our choice to stay here.

Hanoi Old Centre was a great little hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful in providing information about the city and sights. They were also helpful in helping me to book a day trip tour to Halong Bay. The breakfast was excellent, with a large selection of options and with juices, tea, coffee, etc.

The room itself was a bit on the small side, but quite adequate and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but again a bit small.

The location was superb, being right next to Hoan Kiem Lake. It was walkable to plenty of sighs and restaurants.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Hanoi Old Centre and would definitely stay there again.

Great location, best restaurants we tried were on this block (Rainbow and Loft Stop). Helpful staff, gave us a room upgrade (perks of traveling in the low season!). Room was huge, large fridge and two desks. The shower leaked a bit, and the juliet balcony doors did not quite seal which made me nervous, but we saw no bugs or anything. Did not try breakfast.

We stayed in two hotels in Hanoi in the old town. This one was much better. The staff genuinely seemed to be happy to see us. They were very very helpful. The location was great, but then again old town is small. Nevertheless just a short walk to the lake. The room was cute and had a balcony with a view of the street, one of the quieter streets in old town. Breakfast was always good.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was clean, very well presented, the hotel staff were helpful and attentive, and the breakfast was good (though don't order the pancakes they were dreadfully oily and soggy). Every staff member knew my name even though half the time I didn't recognise them. They organised a trip for me to Halong Bay (though if you want really good cruise info go next door - on the left hand side facing the hotel). Great location in Hanoi, I would definitely stay there again. Free wifi and 2 computers downstairs.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and found the place fantastic for the money we spent. Staff were helpful (genuinely), breakfast was good and plentiful, rooms were spacious and our needs were well looked after. The hotel is in the heart of the Old Quarter although you would never think that once inside.

This hotel offers outstanding service well above their 3 star rating. Staff are genuinly warm and welcoming without being overintrusive. Is situated very centrally, took 2 minutes to walk to the lake and most of the old centre shops. Staff helped with arranging trips to Halong Bay and Sapa which were both excellent value for money spent. We were able to leave our large bags at the hotel while away without any problems. They even arranged for our tickets to go to the opera house to see the Vietnamese orchestra and ballet which was great and very cheap by western standards. Rooms were slightly small but this is expected in Hanoi. however good value for money.

We stayed here for one night and couldn't be happier. We arrived at about 8am after an overnight train hoping for the best but not expecting anything. Our room was not yet ready, however after our welcome drink they gave us use of another room to wash and rest in until the cleaning was complete. When it was, we discovered we'd been given the \"Honeymoon suite\" which was lovely, massive bed, flat screen TV, balcony complete with rose petals. Also they gave us complimentary water and snacks for our troubles. Which troubles? We weren't really sure but we ate them gratefully anyway. The lady at reception was a diamond, we decided to stay in Hanoi for a second night, Old Centre Hotel was full but they arranged a room at another hotel they run for a good price and put us in a free taxi. Couldn't be happier with room and service. Hotel located on the edge of the Old quarter which is great; a little less crazy busy than right in the thick of it, short walk to everywhere.

The hotel is in a great location - right by the lake and walking distance to everything. The hotel staff was so nice - they not only let us check in early, they immediately asked us what our plan was, took out a detailed map and showed us where everything was. The breakfast was a little confusing since rather than being a buffet (like our other hotels) we had to order off the menu but the food was great! The rooms are smaller than they look on the picture which was a little disappointing since there was barely any space to stand esp with our luggage but overall the hotel was great and I def recommend.

Great location, very friendly staff

The rooms are a little small (unless you pay a few extra bucks for a suite), and the showers are a little weird by Western standards, but all of that is made up for and more by the extremely friendly and helpful staff. We booked several tours through the hotel, and the hotel took care of everything, from pickup at the hotel to getting dropped back off. Everything went very smoothly.
The hotel was very clean, and all rooms have refrigerators helpfully stocked with water, soda, and beers (beers are only $1 USD!)
The location of this hotel is also superb. It's on a street that has several great cafes, a night club (Tunnel Bar), and a gay bar (GC Bar). There's also tons of shopping within walking distance.

Fabulous hotel. The location is central for dining, shopping, and walking to a lot of sights. Lake is very close...what a delight at night! Night market on Friday is close. Service is A+++. My husband left one of his suitcases in the lobby when we left and didn't realize it until we got to the airport...we called the hotel and they got it to us at the airport FAST...incredible service. I loved Ha Noi and plan to go back and will stay at Old Centre Hotel again.

5 stars for quality of service! Excellent. Miss Linh and the hotel porter were extremely friendly, initiative and helpful. They are experienced, warm and caring staff! They even ran out to check if we have our passports when we got onto taxi for the airport. In addition, they made many arrangements for us (before we arrived). e.g. we arrived from our 5+am morning train from Sapa and we were offered (with car ready) to move to another hotel (Hotel Guesthouse) for a night stay since we are too early for check in. This kind move allowed guests to wash up or sleep in (though we did not). Upon return to Old Hanoi hotel after a Ninh Bing tour, we were also offered a free upgrade in both of our rooms, with our luggage already transferred from Hotel Guest House to our rooms in Old Hanoi Hotel. We returned to this hotel again after our Halong Bay Cruise. Hotel location is very good. It is beside the lake, near good food beside the shopping area. Hotel rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable with reliable hot showers and good air-conditioning. You pay for what you get and I feel that it was very good for the price paid. The family suite room is way much bigger than a normal room. Stay made so much more enjoyable with the happy, friendly staff. Thank you !

I only stayed the one night but would happily recommend this hotel to others for it's quality, value for money and location

Very good hotel with excellent staff

My family of 4 adults stayed in Hanoi Old Centre Hotel, after reading it's the number 1 B&B in one review site. Indeed it is. Simple hotel, simple lobby, but excellent staff. Our rooms are not 5-star but good enough for our stay in Hanoi. The staff can speak good English and took care of us. When our Halong Bay cruise was cancelled, they booked us the next day hoping the skies would clear up. Their minibar doesn't cost much unlike a typical hotel, so we need not go out to buy water, sodas or beer. When we were a little sad of our cruise being cancelled, when we got back I got a letter on my bed to open the fridge and birthday cake was waiting for me. So sweet of the hotel staff. Wifi in our rooms are fast and most importantly, free. Its location is best, just a few mins walking distance from the Lake and from the silk shops. Try the Rainbow restaurant at the end of the block, a good dinner place we went to several times, it's very near the hotel. They also arrange airport-hotel pickups. I definitely recommend this hotel and if I return to Hanoi, I will stay there again.

Hotel Gem in Hanoi

The room was great, but really the best part was the staff. The morning and afternoon girls at the front desk were absolutely terrific, always giving us great advice and just generally being very helpful.

Very good choice in the old quarter

Though have learnd its great reputation on service, I was still impressed by the detailed answers from Ms. Thuy after booking. Location of the hotel was truely great as commented with excellent balance between quite alley and just a few minutes' walk to the old quarter center & water puppet theater! Heater was already in the room and adaptor was available, though it's almost a mission impossible to find the right angle to hold it plugged in... And this was the only hotel providing complimentary lovely basket of snacks in our 11-day Vietnam journey...

Hanoi Old Center Hotel - simply exceptional!

Hanoi was chilly when we returned from Saigon in the evening but heater was not available when we checked in. Luckly the blankets we had in the first night were changed to thick quilts without asking so we had an equal warm sleep to get us recharged for the Halong Bay day trip. On our return, Ms. Thuy was on duty and checked with us whether we got the heater or not after her hearty greeting as usual. The next magic thing was that we were greeted by the hotel errand boy with a big smile a few minutes later when walking out the hotel for delicious noodle soup, and heater on his motobike! Such sweet little things really warm you up immediately. Will stay with this hotel again and highly recommend it to others!

フロントスタッフ、朝食スタッフ皆さん親切で居心地が良いホテル。ホテルの建物は京町家の様に間口が狭く細長いビル。朝食は、英語表記ありのメニューから選択形式で、洋食、ベトナム食等複数の中から自由に選択可能。残念な点は、ベッドのフットカバーを外したら長い髪の毛が複数本あり気持ち悪かった。翌日、部屋の清掃時にはフットカバーは片付けられ清潔になったと思えた。

Fantastico! El trato del personal espectacular, nos ayudaron con todo, nos guardaron las maletas cuando fuimos a Sapa, nos ofrecieron ducharnos antes de tomar el bus nocturno y nos dieron el desayuno para llevar el dia que salimos temprano a Halong Bay.
Si bien la habitacion no es muy grande, tiene todo lo necesario, muy limpia, camas muy comodas y la ducha es espectacular.
Esta super bien ubicado, nosotros caminamos hacia todo lo que quisimos visitar y por las noches estabamos a un paso del mercado nocturno. Un minimarket al frente y muchos sitios para comer.

너무 좋았어요!

전체적으로 좋았어요
첫날에는 숙소에 문제가 있어서 다른 숙소를 이용했어야했는데 택시로 편하게 이용하게해주셨어요.
다음날 아침일찍 투어가 있어서 걱정이었는데 늦지않게 원래숙소로 데려다주셔서 투어이용도 잘 했습니다. 숙소도 너무 깨끗했고 조식도 깔끔하게 좋았어요.
무엇보다 직원분들이 피곤할텐데도 아침저녁에 상관없이 항상 웃는얼굴로 맞이해주고 인사해주었던게 제일 기억에 남습니다.
가성비적으로도 좋은 숙소였고 바로 맞은편에 편의점도 있었고 걸어서 3-5분 정도 주변에 쇼핑거리나 식당도 많았고 호안끼엠호수도 걸어서 2-3분이면 이용할수있어서 너무 좋았습니다.

一人旅でもスムーズて安心なコンパクトホテル

湖のすぐそばでナイトバザールも目と鼻の先様々な観光名所も徒歩圏内と立地条件は全てに最高チェックインもコンパクトでスムーズ一つ難を言えば窓が無い部屋だったので外が見えず圧迫感があったのは残念でした

Hôtel bien placé , accueillant, assez calme

Chambre propre ,un peu humide mais c'est le Vietnam et il pleut. Bonne literie et salle de bain propre. Peu de bruit pour un centre ville, même si les cloisons sont fines. Nous avons fait toutes les visites à pieds depuis l'hôtel. Lac à 1 mn donc emplacement idéal. Merci au personnel très accueillant
