Temperature of the hotel was too hot; made it difficult to asleep. Had to turn the air-con unit off, as its min temp was 20°C.

Decor was tired with lots of chips to the paint work. Chipped marble entrance step was replaced whilst we were staying, so some effort is being made to improve appearances. Need to focus on rooms and corridors.

Spa facilities was sparse - one sauna in the gym, ground floor; one hot tub on the rooftop, 8th floor. Made logistics of enjoying them tricky. No complementary robes provided, had to chance it in a towel. Another hot tub was offered at a cost, no exemption for guests staying at the hotel. Treated as if we were walking in off the street. Stayed at spa hotels where guests had full access to facilities but treatments were extra, this was not the case.

Good location to walk to Old Town (20 mins) and along the front.

L'hôtel est correct avec une partie jaccuzi plutôt agre. Cependant la chambre ne ressemble en rien au photos de l'annonce. Nous arrivons dans une chambre à la décoration vieillotte avec plusieurs équipements qui dysfonctionnements. Par exemple les lumières qui ne fonctionnent pas, la tv où certaines chaînes sont inaccessibles (TF1...) et un rideau de douche en 2025. 4 étoiles pour notre chambre et l'accueil peu aimable non merci.

Location is lovely and the roof top bar with incredible views is what makes this hotel. We booked the junior suite and it looks nothing like the pictures. May need to update those to give a more realistic view of what the room really looks like and it’s very outdated. But it was fine. Only other criticism was the dreadful drainage smell coming from the bathroom…… we did tell reception on departure and were told it’s a common thing on the French Riviera….. I would be interested to know if every other hotel has this same complaint for a 4 star hotel?

The hotel is well located, not far from the beach and Promenafe des Anglais. Its on a quiet, leafy street. The staff were very nice, efficient and helpful, both at the desk and in the restaurant. Clean, roomy on the 7th floor, plenty of closet space. There wasnt alot of light in the bathroom for doing makeup but otherwise, all good.

We had a very nice stay at the Splendid Hotel. The location was great and only a short walk to the promenade and many, many restaurants and attractions.

The view from the 8th floor is amazing - there is a pool, hot tub and plenty of seating and the staff will bring your food and drinks out to you. It makes for an amazing way to experience the sunset.

A few minor issues - the hotel only gives a single bottle of still water per day despite the number of guests in the room. Calling down to get more was a hassel - they directed us to go to reception and argued when I wanted to buy more. I had to go to the bar upstairs on floor 8 to get a 1L bottle of water but you could tell they were unfamiliar with the request. Very minor thing but the hotel needs to make things like that more easily accessible. Americans like our water.

The hotel breakfast was also great, during the weekdays. On Saturday before we departed, the already very small area was filled with guests and there were no plates, forks, and it generally was unclean (spoons caked it egg, found a hair in my sausage). A disappointing departure day.

Beware also while floor 3 looked nice, but I had seen how dark and dingy the 2nd floor was and was shocked how inconsistent it was.

Overall, we would go back for sure, as the staff were generally nice and accommodating and we had a nice experience.

Hello,
We enjoyed our vacation in Nice. Splendid hotel was conveniently located, the rooftop bar was beautiful and reception was very friendly, helpful and professional.
Unfortunately, it appears that the rooms are not being cleaned thoroughly. On the third night of our stay we accidentally discovered someone's dirty socks under my daughter's bed. Those were not our socks, they were clearly left there by previous guests and the housekeeping did not even vacuum under the beds. We complained to the reception and were told they will notify housekeeping. Later this day, after housekeeping came through, the socks were still there. We complained again. That night housekeeping came and removed two socks that were closer to the edge of the bed, but there were more socks under the bed that were not removed. I am sure if you look under the bed in the room we were staying in, those old socks are still there. This just shows how cleaning is being done at Splendid. We will return to Nice, but, unfortunately, will not be staying at Splendid.

The hotel is nice overall, but it’s clear the property is past its prime. Some areas have been updated, while others are in serious need of renovation. We stayed on the first floor and appreciated the spacious balcony, though the large fence completely blocked the view and any breeze. The decor feels dated and worn, but the hotel is clean, the restaurants were good, and the location is excellent. All in all, it’s a decent place—but definitely due for a refresh.

Property located on a quiet tree-lined street that is close to all the attractions including train station, beach, restaurants and cafes.

The staff is superb and professional including front desk, rooftop pool and housekeeping.

Hotel has a gym, spa and onsite-secured parking.

Only issue in a great property is the carpeted guest rooms that have a musky scent.

The staff are phenomenal and friendly. They were super helpful and this made our stay even better. The area is accessible to a lot of great restaurants and the beach. The only downside was that we found a few items/trash left over by previous guest in one of the drawers and didn’t seem super clean. Other than that, it was great!

Breakfast was great we ate dinner there also which was really good.
They have selft park or valet park.
Only thing last day we were there we went to get car and they asked for key to get it which they had been keeping it and just out of instinct when they asked we gave them the other key so we left with one and didn't notice until a couple days later.I personally think it was their faught for asking since they already had a key.Either way they were nice enough to mail the key at my expense and that was much appreciated.
Would definitely stay again.

my ONLY complaint is that despite the housekeeping card indicating that towels are only replaced if left in the bathtub, we got clean ones daily. As we are trying to lighten our footprints, we wish the staff had remembered there was no need for constant replacement.

The location was excellent, the staff could not have been more accommodating, and the breakfast plentiful and delicious.

Splendid is a good “4 Star” hotel in central Nice. It represents solid price/value for the area. The best thing about the hotel is the rooftop (8th floor) Bar and Restaurant. Their breakfast buffet runs $19 Euro and is a good value. Worth noting their dinner menu is quite limited.

My first impression, when I arrived to your hotel and waited at the reception to check-in was a real desappointment!
3 receptionists were working then. They didn't look at me as a new guest, no one could say: \"welcome we will soon take care of you\", which is, to my opinion, very unprofessional, further on, the Manager came to the front desk, he was angry and said very unpleasant comments to the staff infront of the people who where checking in, like me. I went forward the desk, looked at him with sharp eyes, meaning: That is not acceptable, definitely not professional at all. He understood the message and left the reception immediatly. When I called the reception from my room with some questions I had, the woman who answered (she also was at the reception when I arrived, she was staring in her computer all the time, total lack of social competence) she just said: I am busy (with a harsh tone) I'll call you in 5 minutes. She never called me back!
My room was fine, the cleaning was perfect, the top roof was really great, the staff there was very friendly, service-minded real professionals!!
Because of the unprofessional and unpleasant staff at the reception I will never come back to your hotel. I just came back from Nice and chose an other 4 stars hotel, very close to yours. Everyone there were very friendly, service- minded, asked if I needed help with something!
Advice: Do something with your staff in the reception.

place to go and relax during the day.
A super lovely hotel in every way and so close
to the Tram line Station Alsace Lorraine which
you should add as a selling feature on all your
adverts and brochures.
The local tram line station has a super service
back to Terminals 1 and 2 Nice Aeroport for
only Euro 1.69 per person for a one way trip
being now so much cheaper than an Uber Taxi
We had a lovely short holiday this year but
enjoyed it as always before very much.
We visited Les Sens Verdant Blue Beach Restaurants and Iskender Kebab for a very
late night beer and Pernod after your hotel
bar closed down around midnight.

No working AC for $500 per night

We stayed in this “luxury” hotel for a week in a very hot summer with no working AC. We were promised to have a working Air Conditioning every day and it was very uncomfortable and honestly we felt overcharged and hustled. It was very uncomfortable.

I booked this property because of its 4 star rating and unfortunately I was very disappointed. The rooms are very dated, the air conditioning barely functions and we did detect a moldy smell. Location near the beach and other areas was good, but I will not be staying at this property ever again. I was offered 100 euros as a discount from my final bill which was appreciated, but I would rate this property a 2-3 star at most.

I got to the hotel and tried to checkin at the reception the lady at the desk was not helpful at all, she asked for a cash deposit even after asking her to use my card number details I had to pre authorise the transaction she refused, said I couldn’t check in. I only had contactless and the card details I had used at a previous hotel to pre authorise as a deposit. They said I should try an atm outside and I had to go beg someone at an atm that they take out cash and I do an instant transfer for them, it was hard finding someone who spoke English for starters, nearly 45mins later I had €50 cash for my deposit. I eventually got to the room and unfortunately it had a horrible smell from the shower, like a sewage leak, went to complain they said I can’t change rooms they will send someone, they did eventually send someone who cleaned and sprayed the shower. The rest of the stay was ok, the balcony had no view, pool was small but at least had one, not convinced the hotel was value for money, breakfast I had once was good. The area is safe close to walk to the beach. Overall experience average. I doubt I would stay here again.

The hotel is a great location, the top floor pool area and bar is attractive with multiple pleasant seating area, though the area around the pool itself is small with a limited number of sun loungers. Internally, our floor (2nd) and our room were ‘tired’, had chipped paint and stained carpets so much in need of renovation. This was disappointing and did not give a very good first impression, especially considering how much we had paid. Food and drinks at the hotel are expensive.

One bad and three ok nights

When you are allocated a rather dreary suite (702) that stinks of sewage, the whole holiday starts badly. The terrace was a balcony with peeling paint and 2 plastic chairs in a corner. The ordered double bed was two single beds...but worst of all was the smell. We were changed to a better suite (108) the next day. 0 star for the first night and 3 for the rest. We will never stay at this hotel again.

I loved the Amenities the hotel had as well as the free bar and daily free refill. The sauna and gym was good however, I would have liked to have seen a little more variety.

Unfortunately my room's cleanliness was a slight let down with some of the information sheets having spill marks of sodas and some spillage stains on the carpet.

This is a really nice hotel. The room we were upgraded to had a balcony, was big, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and charming — always wishing you, ‘Good day’ or ‘Good night’. The walk to the centre takes about 15 minutes but there are lots of good restaurants and shops immediately around the place. The sea is a five minute walk. We felt looked after and relaxed. The rooftop bar has great views across the city and the rooftop pool, while small, must be blissful in the summer.
The only very slight negative was the slim shower screen that made it difficult not to wet the bathroom floor.
All in all a super hotel.

Our stay was lovely! The staff were extremely hospitable. At first we were placed in a old fashioned room that looked completely different to the website, but we were quickly upgraded to a deluxe modern room, after raising a query. It was within 10 minutes walking distance of the beach, food and shops. A prime location and the rooftop views and pool were a great addition as well as the spa facilities which were open till quite late. I would definitely stay again.

Avoid this hotel!

The hotel is very run down. The first room we were given was terrible. There was mold on the vents, the furniture and bedding were very old and the carpet was in poor condition. The hallway walls were damaged and in several places. We moved rooms (ourselves) three times before we had a room that was just barely acceptable. When I showed the front desk the photos of rooms from their website and asked why our room wasn’t the same quality, I was told the pictures were of suites. So I guess if you’re booking a suite you’ll be fine, but regular staterooms are a disaster.

The breakfast was expensive and did not have too many vegan or vegetarian options, but this does not change the fact that this is was a wonderful hotel experience. 10/10

I personally will not stay here again. Worst of the hotels we stayed at on our month trip through Europe. Definitely was expecting more based off the pictures and price.

Pros
Close to the beach, friendly staff, good area, rooftop pool/bar was amazing.

Cons
Looks like only the 3rd floor is renovated. The rest of the rooms are outdated, and not nearly the same quality. Our first room was very musty, and the air conditioning did not work well. Coolest it got was 30 Celsius, and that was with 2 fans. We asked to move rooms, which they allowed. Second room (different floor) wasn’t much better. Coolest it got was 26 with a fan. And the bathroom in the second room always smelled like sewage.

We had 3 rooms at same price, all were different quality, esp the balconies. Electric shutters and awnings very useful. Breakfast was OK, but very crowded as everybody eating inside. Bar and restaurant is 1 area so can only drink inside if restaurant empty. Area is good, easy walk to sea, old town, restaurants, station etc.
Rating would have been higher except for Thurs night. We were on 7th floor, bar, pool etc on 8th. There was a private function on 8th with v loud music - I rang front desk at 11.30 and was told it would stop at 12….rang again at 12.30 and was told it there was nothing he could do but leave a note for the manager! Music finally stopped just after 2. Next morning I went to desk to speak to the manager and was told he wasn’t available (coincidentally he was due back after we were due to leave)…..receptionist was totally dismissive and disinterested. Also there is no contact number for front deck in the rooms, which is odd. Finally, when we checked out we were not given an itemised bill, also odd. Overall, a decent place to stay if you want easy access to local area, comfortable and clean rooms…..but stay below 7th floor if you like to sleep before 2a.m.!

Great place to stay, nice roof top area , central to the beach , old town and railway station. Staff where great and very helpful, place is clean and surrounding area was safe. My only negative was that the hot breakfasts was terrible but the cold elements was ok.

They gave us a free room upgrade to a massive room that we really appreciated. Everything was comfortable.
AC was a little bit on the weak side, had to keep blinds and shutters closed so that the apt did not over hear. Pool and hot tub were sick. Having drink service at the pool and hot tub was nice but drinks were very expensive

Not a 4 star hotel and bugs

Only 3rd floor is renovated. I was originally put on 5th floor and the room was well very outdated, not like on the photos that I looked at when booking.
I asked to move to the third floor where my colleague was, as the rooms were in the standard as per photos, and they have asked me to pay extra as the room is now more premium (has a shower and a bath).
My colleague has to move rooms too as his smelled of cigarettes.

After all that, we woke up in the morning scratching and bitten..we found out we have bed bug in our beds. We requested the refund, they provided it to us; but they didn’t seem very worried of having bed bugs in their hotel. Which was shocking…
