The property and the inside of our room was horrible. Sheets had sand all through them, black mold in the bathroom. Tub was clogged up. We only had half a roll of toilet paper. 2 towels for the 3 days we were there. We had to move rooms because our first room was covered in weed and the smell of weed. Will never return there again.

The first room we were assigned to was filthy--the bath tub had dark stains over most of the inside. The floors had standing dirt. We were moved to another room which was only marginally better. The floors were still dirty and obviously had not been swept or mopped in a long time. I borrowed a broom and swept the floors myself but still wound up ruining a pair of socks and had to keep a damp wash rag by the bed to wash my feet before getting into bed.

Room was not ready for check in for another hour. They charge a $2.14”fee” at checkin but could not tell me what for. One of the desk clerks actually rolled his eyes. Expedia gives a total charge including taxes and “fees”. I was told that Expedia needs to get their info straight. It was NOT a non smoking facility. Several smokers outside the rooms to stink up the rooms and belongings. Multiple holes in the walls. Door could not be closed from the outside once in the room so I was forced to order delivery food. In general run down and needs a lot of work. Linens were good, new towels. Floor could have been cleaner, overall passable. Toiletries very good. Bed passable as well. The day clerk was a very sweet lady. Overall kinda miserable stay due to one event after another. Most likely will not ever be back, if for no other reason the shorter evening desk clerk with the awful attitude. It bespoke someone not familiar with the “hospitality” industry. In the beginning he would not even look me in the face. Maybe my neck brace frightened him, I dunno. The manager or whom I thought he was did fix the $2.14 issue eventually.

The night shift person didn't know what was going on when checking in people. We got a handicap room and found out the next morning didn't have hot water. The day manager moved us to another room and didn't offer to help us. Got to the room and pillows had a smell and no pillow cases. The shower had mold on the shower curtain and the manager had is best person cleaned it. We got the idea that they knew that the handicap room had no hot water because the kept saying they knew it was leaking. I booked the room saying it was in walking distance of the Harbor,we are elderly and was to far for us to walk. Will not stay there again and no recommendations for Motel 6

Mold on the sheets/bed. BALLS of dog hair all over the room and nothing was properly cleaned previously before giving us our room. Kindly asked the staff if we could be moved as I’m allergic to dogs and he stated very rudely “ there’s dog hair in every room” and refused to move us to another. They need nicer night staff. His lips were all busted up so I’m guessing he didn’t learn a lesson.

This place was absolutely disgusting. We got to Destin a night early and were just looking for a one night stay before we could check into our condo. The place was full of mold, weed and cigarette smell, blood and burn holes in the beds. When we went and asked for a refund the man in the office wouldn’t aprove it since we took a shower BEFORE we looked around also after our 26 hour ride, the man wouldn’t approve a refund. Awful awful experience.
The only thing you’re going to get from them is bed bugs!!!!!

“You get what you pay for”. The floor in the sleeping area felt grimy, like it hadn’t been mopped. And the bathroom definitely hadn’t been - you could see the shoe marks from house “cleaning”, but no mop touched the floors of my room. The fridge was too cold and no way to turn the temp down, so all my food for the week got ruined overnight. The door to my room stayed jammed, had to force my way in daily. Overall, just bad stay.

The desk attendant was very unfriendly and had a really poor attitude. Making a reservation was pointless, because we did NOT get the room type we paid for. The bed was so uncomfortable!! I woke up in pain every single day. There was nowhere decent to sit in the room, either, so we had to find things to do all day, since staying in the room was clearly no option!! That was the biggest waste of money!! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, EVER!!

Upon arriving there was a condom in the toilet, questionable spots on the floor, toilet don’t like to flush the shower leaked all into the floor even with the curtain pulled, and we saw a roach crawl across the cabinet under the tv, the bed was hard as a board. 0/10 do not recommend.

This is by far the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. I felt in danger the entire time I was there. We only stayed one night and checked out early due to this. It was disgusting and unclean. Looked nothing like the photos. There are people who live at the motel full time. One man who lived there was basically blocking the stairwell with a chair and grill and was outside 24/7, which made me very uncomfortable. I would sleep in my car before I would stay here again.

This by far is the worst motel 6 I've ever stayed at in my life , no hot water , no tv , walked on the floor n the bottom of my feet was black , couldn't check in til after 8 pm n still didn't receive a refund

Received a phone call 2 hours before our arrival from Michigan that the hotel “gave our room away”. Asked how that could happen with a reservation in place and Alex at the front desk couldn’t answer that question. Asked for a callback from a manager and 4 days later, that call has never came. We had to scramble to find another hotel on a busy Spring Break week. After driving by the property during our stay in Destin, it appears we dodged a bullet because the property is run down and clearly mismanaged overall. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Terrible experience. They cancelled on us when we reached there. Our day and plans got all ruined. The staff was rude and didn't even call us beforehand for the cancellation. His excuse was there was no housekeeping. We had plans for cruises that we had to cancel as well. Just because of that cancellation we had to search for another hotel 45 mins apart. We missed our other bookings because of this. Do not trust on their booking.

The rooms were so unsanitary that we couldn't stay there. The rooms obviously hadn't been cleaned any time recently. We had a non smoking room that reeked of marijuana. There were insect/rodent droppings in the kitchenette area, stains and smears of who knows what all over the room, yellow pillows, etc. The property refused to refund us, and we were forced to book elsewhere, due to health concerns if we stayed there. The only pros were that the guy at the desk was nice and the pool looked alright. The front desk's hands were just tied in being able to refund us due to policy. We will be taking the refund issue to Expedia and if they won't assist, then to other consumer agencies. Do not book here if you care about your health.

Staff was alright…. The guy seemed off maybe he was tired or just didn’t want to be there at all. First room he gives us seemed to already have guest staying in it or at least the beds were messy, TV on, and sheets in the floor. I went back to the front desk and he just gave me another room which had broken door knobs in the bathroom, red stains on the wall and floors (kind of blood looking), and moldy smell coming from the AC unit.

This place was terrible! I really don’t understand how people are rating this motel anything other than terrible. We pull up into the parking lot and the first thing we notice is people sitting outside their rooms drinking and pouring alcohol in the mouth of a man already so drunk he could barely sit in his chair. The room was nasty. Smelled like cigarettes and pot in the room even though we requested a non smoking room. The ice bucket had been used for an ash tray, the shower had hair all in it, and the floor was so filthy my grandsons feet were black after walking on it barefoot shortly after taking a shower!
Do yourself a favor and do not pay any attention to the rating of 7.2 stars because it is definitely not good!!!

If i could give negative stars, i would.

1st: Our room wasnt ready, but the staff claimed to be unaware of this. They accepted payment and gave us the key but the room was TRASHED. Beds were tossed, blood on the sheets, trash throughout the room, bathroom horrendous.

2nd: The refund process has been abysmal. We were there an hour, if that and was given a partial refund even though the facility was less than subpar. The young lady we dealt with on the midnight shift was helpful and apologetic for the experience so there was that. She informed us that the only way to get the full refund was through the manager who would be on the morning shift, so we contacted Expedia who also spoke with the facility and was told they would give the Full refund only for them not to.

Needless to say, i would NEVER come back to this facility. We drove 4 hours to get there only for my family and i to have the worst experience for any hotel stay in our personal experience.

Thank god they gave us a refund. I trusted the 7.8 stars on Expedia and I will never again. GHETTO, DISGUSTING AND UNSTAYABLE. Room was so gross that we left and paid double somewhere else. We arrived at like 9pm and figured we would save a couple bucks since the pictures look nice, it was late and the reviews were high. NEVER AGAIN. We packed up and left the bedding and bathroom were so gross with stains, pubic hairs and other just other gross *** things.. best of luck with your stay. Even caring I felt on edge and figured I had a 70% chance of my car being broke into.

The pets were welcome, which was why we chose this hotel.
The rooms were never cleaned or entered during our three night stay. We did not receive clean towels or anything. The hotel itself is very old and the bathrooms are poor in cleanliness and size. The drains are very slow leaving constant residue in the sink and shower. The Motel 6 as a whole had many types of people staying there - some long term renters, many with pets, and very few families, like ours. We felt very out of place, and almost unsafe due to the area.

Room was filthy. Blood stains on sheets. Multiple cockroaches. Floor felt like it hasn’t ever been mopped. Couldn’t be barefoot or you ended up with black feet from the filth. Had to purchase disinfectant wipes to wipe down surfaces. Very apparent that it wasn’t cleaned prior to stay. Bathtub was HORRIBLE. Had to purchase a bath mat to even step in the shower. Shower curtain was moldy. Had to go to the office every day because the keys consistently wouldn’t work and they would have to reprogram it. Was also put on the 2nd floor when I booked an ADA room and they do not have an elevator.

They are remodeling the property so it seems like I was unlucky and was booked into one that still needs lots of work.

Staff was friendly and location is safe and convenient.

Good location. Very walkable to the the waterfront and the restaurants. Felt like a safe area. Didn't deal with staff really other then check in but they were nice and courteous. Room was very very run down but the linens were clean and the bed was comfortable as far as Motels go. Think there are some renovated rooms but mine was in desperate need of a makeover and would otherwise give it a better rating.

Night shift personnel was nice and courteous. Room definitely needed to be recleaned found hairs in tub and sink.Stains in the tub as if it was just wiped with just water.... so definitly skipped the shower . Dirt by the door and floor looked like it needed to be redone.

After the staff at motel 6 in Destin Florida gave Platinum Plus an unknown man my room key after he told them he was my brother, I lost all access to my funds and had no money to get another hotel or even stay there. I had no phone no no computer no access to the internet nothing. I the staff member admitted to myself and the police officer that she did give the key to a man that said he was my brother. The police and staff seen the video that showed the man also going in and then out of my hotel room while I was gone. When I got home all of my things were gone the staff member who gave him the key said she thought he was my brother because he looked familiar and he said he was my brother. I asked to stay as I had no phone no access to the internet and no access to my money and they did not even count me one night just to get me settled after it was their fault that they let someone in my room and I got stolen from. The manager Stephanie was on site and they offered me nothing except yelling at me telling me that I need to provide receipts for these items that are stolen. I just wanted a place to stay at that time and now I've been staying in my car since my time since the day after this all happened which was Friday so I'm still stuck with no phone no internet access no funds and no gas in my car I've been calling there when I borrow strangers phones during the daytime and at night time to try to see if the manager or one of the staff members had heard anything from admin.

Yes there were shops near by and it was pet friendly. The room was clean. The bathroom door was rusted in the open position and would not close. The phone was not hooked up. The refrigerator worked well. The TV had very limited channels. Over all it was a good room for the price.

I was gven a $15.80 refund by the Manager when I checked out this morning from the Motel 6 in Destin Florida because the shower put out little to know water and water pressure. Making it to where I was unable to take a shower during weekeend trip in Destin Florida which I nooked thru Expedia. I was told by the manger to tell You people at Expedia aboit the refund so you could give it to me. Ty for your speedy refund of $15.80 back to me !

We showed up, and immediately my 12 year old said this place doesn't feel safe. I checked in at the desk, went to the room and it was FILTHY. The stink was immediate, then you started to notice the other things. We spotted 3 cockroaches, the toilet looked like a seedy gas station bathroom crusted with urine. The cooktop was caked with unknown food remnants. If I could post the pictures I would. If I could give less than one star I would. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE. We left immediately. The front desk person refunded us for the other nights of our stay. He was not surprised we were leaving. We had to scramble to find a new place to stay. When we got to the front desk of the new hotel and told her what happened she just laughed and said you guys are not the first ones to come from there. Thy ONLY good thing I can say is the young man at the front desk was very nice.
