room was dirty when we got there but we were too tired to worry about, we figured they would clean it the next day. they never came to clean so I went to the office and they said they dont clean the rooms if you have an extended stay. I told them I needed our room cleaned and the attendant said ok they would clean it and never did. I went to the office again and they said they would clean it but never did again. how is someone supposed to stay 4 nights and use the same towels and same sheets for that long? I finally went and asked for more towels and got some but I will never stay in this hotel again. there was a lot of issues that I will not mention but the only good thing was the location and the pool was nice. do not recommend this hotel at all.

First room TV did not work! Switched rooms immediately, roof looks from up stairs! Constantly dripping on your head. You can see mold especially on the shower curtain. Asked for a discount, NOTHING! You also know it’s a damn Shame my daughter asks for a broom to sweep up. Honestly the maid cleaning the first room we started in was the most helpful. As I’m typing this I’m getting dripped on Sitting the bed. It’s kinda gross

The first day we got there the floors was nasty and dirty, we had a kitchenette and the burner, Microwave and coffee maker was nasty never been clean. Went to flush toilet an wouldn’t flush so I opened the lid and it was broken. This was the worse place to stay at. I wasn’t the only person that had problems with the room. I wasn’t disappointed that I spent so much money for a room that wasn’t worth the price or stay.

Dirty, out-dated, tub filled with water every time I took a shower and wasn’t draining, shower pressure was awful, parking lot was full every night, strange interactions with staff - they did not explain anything. Price was insane for the quality of my entire stay. Just overall terrible experience. Will never stay here again.

The room had a certain smell of urine, I saw that one of the blankets on the bed was the one with a bad smell.
One of the pillows was dirty and stained.
The room maintained a lot of moisture on the floor and walls.
The bathroom needed more cleaning.
They never had clean towels to replace.
The air conditioning needs maintenance.
The front door was rusty.

Parking lot was nasty... several sketchy individuals just hanging around....unclean room...we had absolutely no towels or rags...I had to go walk around till I found a cart sitting in the building breezeway to get towels...had half a roll of to in the room.....the room smelled terrible...there was holes in the bathroom door....ac stayed on but the room barely got cool...just overall completely unacceptable....won't stay there again!!!

OK, the reason why I’m giving it a low rating this time because I stayed there before and I’ve always given it a very high rating however due to the fact that when we got there, the key didn’t work the room was dirty and they had a shortage of towels, how they explained it to us plus in the room or shower was broken and dirty and normally we’ve had a very great experience there it’s just we were given a really bad room and when we asked to have it cleaned, they said they cleaned it once every seven days, but it was given dirty. The people were really nice and explaining it to us the pool was excellent as always. It’s just this time we were given a bad room. I almost wasn’t gonna do this review but I feel like this place is going downhill throughout the years and I’m sorry I have to give a bad review because the people were very very nice. It’s just they were suffering as well. Sidenote, the people that are staying there reminded me of a weekly and monthly live in stay in where people are kind of shady. this was never like it was last time we stay there at least once a year. I don’t think we’re gonna stay there again also because we have a boat and we hadn’t hardly anywhere to park it and it didn’t feel secure.

we were put in a smoking room as requested. once we arrived we noticed our tv would not turn on. i called the front desk and the lady working was so helpful. she came to our room and fussed with the tv for quite awhile before determining the tv was just not going to work. she offered to see if she had another smoking room available. after some time she called to let me know the only room she could find available was a non smoking room and the floor was all wet (it had been raining earlier) we decided to just stay in our room as it was already pretty late and we didnt want to have to pack up and move our stuff. i have no complaints at all about the sweet lady that tried to help us. the room was definitely bare minimum though. we had 2 beds with linens, a table and chair, tv that didnt work, a mini fridge and a microwave. they provided towels and wash cloths. there was nowhere to keep our clothes except keep them in our suitcase, and only had a very small rack for hanging clothes. iv stayed at a lot of motel 6 locations and this one disappointed me out of them all.

Be aware that the pictures are NOT what the motel looks like. The rooms were FILTHY! “They stayed the rooms were just cleaned” Fixtures were rusted and were barely attached to the walls. When we went to get our money back so like we could move to another place. They offered to move us to the other side were the rooms are cleaner (which was not the case at all!) We were informed that they don’t give refunds! So we went to dinner, had to eat the loss, and find a new place to stay!

I don’t ever write reviews, but this is Necessary!!! Do NOT stay here. The front desk was high and unable to even converse with me. When I asked for a receipt he told me he didn’t have one for me, but that I could get it from my credit card statement . If financially I could have go somewhere else I would have, but after almost $400 for two nights charged I couldn’t without compromising the only vacation time I had with my family. The front desk was verbally confrontational.

Approaching the room, there was a TON of dog poop in the small rocked area going up to the second floor. Summer heat and humidity, you could only imagine the smell.

Unlocking the door, before stepping in, the amount of dirt and god knows what on the floor. I stopped to record it, because it was that bad. But again, I only had a couple hours left in that day and the following to spend with my kids. We tried to make the best of it. We could not/would not walk barefoot or in socks even after wetting one of there towels and using our foot to wipe the floors. Their towel came out BLACK! This next part with the room key, I think was intentional from the front desk, but our key was only good for one unlock, after that we had to go back down and have him reprogram our key EVERY TIME! When I checked out I asked for a recipe in which he provided this time after pretending it was somebody else. I asked for the employees name and he responded with “I can’t legally give you that”. Horrible!!

***DO NOT STAY HERE**** I have stayed here multiple times and it has been wonderful.... This past weekend was horrendous. The first room we were put in, housekeeping told me he didn't clean it but the front desk guy argued with me and said it was clean. When I said it wasn't his response was what's your definition of clean!!! There was mold in the shower and towels on the floor gross hair all on the toilet. We did get moved but it wasn't any better mold on the ceiling and in the shower still and the floor hadnt been swept or mopped in who knows how long. He also knew the TV was broken and maintenance told us he had told them to not put a new one in there.

The service was by far the worst the front desk GM was a complete jerk and has no business being in customer service, and one of the guys on duty was so high he didn't even know what was going on.

We paid for a kitchenette but wonder why. There were no pots, pans, dishes, silverware...NOTHING! Also no towels, coffee, or TOILET PAPER.
The cabinets especially the cabinet handles were grossly dirty.
Then, we had to go to the office the first morning there because we got locked out of our room due to a (check-in error) but no one was there. We and several others waited a minimum of 20 minutes. While waiting for new keys, I asked why they offer an upgraded kitchenette when they have no kitchen basics. His response was
\"Did you get a stove top and full size refrigerator?\"
Me: \"yes\"
Him: \"well that's what you paid for.\"
RUDE! What good is an over priced amenity you can't use. So be fore warned, you better not forget to pack your camping kitchen because according to THIS Hotel 6 employee, there are NEVER these items in any kitchenette. I informed him my husband travels for work and I travel frequently as well and this was a first for us. His response to that was \"not in Florida isn't\"
Again, SO RUDE!

Cabinets and cabinet handles were filthy as well as the refrigerator door. But again, nothing in the cabinets except a bunch of dead bugs. We were provided with a coffee maker, but no coffee pods.

The bathroom was exceptionally disgusting with public hairs EVERYWHERE! The vanity was also very dirty. And of course, we had no towels or toilet paper either.

Had both beds not been made, I would have assumed that room was never cleaned.

I could never recommend this hotel.

Absolutely the DIRTIEST room I have ever stayed in.
I could write a novel on how bad this place is but I'll try to keep it short.
1st room the freezer on fridge was completely frozen solid. Couldn't put anything in it and leaked all over floor. Asked to change rooms and after waiting 30 minutes got a new one which was worse. While waiting 3 other customers came and went trying to change rooms as the condition of their rooms was also unacceptable.
NEW room SMELLED of urine and other unidentified scents. After unpacking I spilled a splash of juice on the floor and was appalled when I cleaned up with a wipe. The filth was disgusting. This room hadn't been mopped forever!
Asked receptionist for a mop so we could clean it ourselves and he told us he didn't have one.
After a pause he added they don't even give us one. 😮
Knowing it would ruin the towel we asked if should just use a towel to clean and he said I guess technically its okay. So we did. After photo attached.
There was visible mold in the shower. The shower curtain rod was broken, sink faucet ready to fall off. Bedding stained. No ice available.
This review comes from a couple who travel extensively and enjoy affordable simple rooms. We don't expect the extras.
This motel however should be shut down by the health department.

I booked a room @ their location in Destin through Hotels.com for one night being 5/09/26. I checked in and was told I had 10 minutes to check the room I was given. I should have asked for a refund right then. The room was filthy. The tub had mold growing on the caulking around the inside of it as well as the caulking on the floor. I immediately informed the desk clerk that the room was unacceptable and was sent to another room that was just as bad as the first. Cigarette burns on the toilet seat as well as the comforter on one of the beds. Mold in the bathroom worse than the first room. I went to the office and was told that \" You know that people actually do stay in dirty rooms!\" and that he didn't know how to give me a refund and couldn't give me a number to contact anyone at Motel 6 regarding the issue!

The property and the inside of our room was horrible. Sheets had sand all through them, black mold in the bathroom. Tub was clogged up. We only had half a roll of toilet paper. 2 towels for the 3 days we were there. We had to move rooms because our first room was covered in weed and the smell of weed. Will never return there again.

The first room we were assigned to was filthy--the bath tub had dark stains over most of the inside. The floors had standing dirt. We were moved to another room which was only marginally better. The floors were still dirty and obviously had not been swept or mopped in a long time. I borrowed a broom and swept the floors myself but still wound up ruining a pair of socks and had to keep a damp wash rag by the bed to wash my feet before getting into bed.

Room was not ready for check in for another hour. They charge a $2.14”fee” at checkin but could not tell me what for. One of the desk clerks actually rolled his eyes. Expedia gives a total charge including taxes and “fees”. I was told that Expedia needs to get their info straight. It was NOT a non smoking facility. Several smokers outside the rooms to stink up the rooms and belongings. Multiple holes in the walls. Door could not be closed from the outside once in the room so I was forced to order delivery food. In general run down and needs a lot of work. Linens were good, new towels. Floor could have been cleaner, overall passable. Toiletries very good. Bed passable as well. The day clerk was a very sweet lady. Overall kinda miserable stay due to one event after another. Most likely will not ever be back, if for no other reason the shorter evening desk clerk with the awful attitude. It bespoke someone not familiar with the “hospitality” industry. In the beginning he would not even look me in the face. Maybe my neck brace frightened him, I dunno. The manager or whom I thought he was did fix the $2.14 issue eventually.

The night shift person didn't know what was going on when checking in people. We got a handicap room and found out the next morning didn't have hot water. The day manager moved us to another room and didn't offer to help us. Got to the room and pillows had a smell and no pillow cases. The shower had mold on the shower curtain and the manager had is best person cleaned it. We got the idea that they knew that the handicap room had no hot water because the kept saying they knew it was leaking. I booked the room saying it was in walking distance of the Harbor,we are elderly and was to far for us to walk. Will not stay there again and no recommendations for Motel 6

This place was absolutely disgusting. We got to Destin a night early and were just looking for a one night stay before we could check into our condo. The place was full of mold, weed and cigarette smell, blood and burn holes in the beds. When we went and asked for a refund the man in the office wouldn’t aprove it since we took a shower BEFORE we looked around also after our 26 hour ride, the man wouldn’t approve a refund. Awful awful experience.
The only thing you’re going to get from them is bed bugs!!!!!

“You get what you pay for”. The floor in the sleeping area felt grimy, like it hadn’t been mopped. And the bathroom definitely hadn’t been - you could see the shoe marks from house “cleaning”, but no mop touched the floors of my room. The fridge was too cold and no way to turn the temp down, so all my food for the week got ruined overnight. The door to my room stayed jammed, had to force my way in daily. Overall, just bad stay.

The desk attendant was very unfriendly and had a really poor attitude. Making a reservation was pointless, because we did NOT get the room type we paid for. The bed was so uncomfortable!! This is by far the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. I felt in danger the entire time I was there. We only stayed one night and checked out early due to this. It was disgusting and unclean. Looked nothing like the photos. There are people who live at the motel full time. One man who lived there was basically blocking the stairwell with a chair and grill and was outside 24/7, which made me very uncomfortable. I would sleep in my car before I would stay here again.

This by far is the worst motel 6 I've ever stayed at in my life , no hot water , no tv , walked on the floor n the bottom of my feet was black , couldn't check in til after 8 pm n still didn't receive a refund

Received a phone call 2 hours before our arrival from Michigan that the hotel “gave our room away”. Asked how that could happen with a reservation in place and Alex at the front desk couldn’t answer that question. Asked for a callback from a manager and 4 days later, that call has never came. We had to scramble to find another hotel on a busy Spring Break week. After driving by the property during our stay in Destin, it appears we dodged a bullet because the property is run down and clearly mismanaged overall. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Terrible experience. They cancelled on us when we reached there. Our day and plans got all ruined. The staff was rude and didn't even call us beforehand for the cancellation. His excuse was there was no housekeeping. We had plans for cruises that we had to cancel as well. Just because of that cancellation we had to search for another hotel 45 mins apart. We missed our other bookings because of this. Do not trust on their booking.

The rooms were so unsanitary that we couldn't stay there. The rooms obviously hadn't been cleaned any time recently. We had a non smoking room that reeked of marijuana. There were insect/rodent droppings in the kitchenette area, stains and smears of who knows what all over the room, yellow pillows, etc. The property refused to refund us, and we were forced to book elsewhere, due to health concerns if we stayed there. The only pros were that the guy at the desk was nice and the pool looked alright. The front desk's hands were just tied in being able to refund us due to policy. We will be taking the refund issue to Expedia and if they won't assist, then to other consumer agencies. Do not book here if you care about your health.
